Scene 1

It’s late morning. Phyllis Newman is in the living room of the Newman Tack House packing for a picnic with her husband, daughter, and step-kids. The phone rings. Phyllis hesitates for a moment to answer it since she’s gotten numerous strange phone calls lately. “Hello,” she says, finally picking up. The caller greets her. “This is she,” Phyllis confirms, “Who’s calling?” There is another responds. “That’s right,” Phyllis replies, “Victoria’s mentioned you.” It becomes clear that the caller is Roseanne Ryerson, the Guardian Ad Litem appointed for the custody case involving Reed Hellstrom.

“An interview?” Phyllis replies, and Roseanne’s response is unheard. “I’m sorry, but it can’t be today… my husband and I are taking our daughter on a picnic…,” Phyllis continues, “Yeah, by the lake.” Roseanne says something else [off-screen]. “You know… we’re really in a rush and I don’t have my calendar with me…,” Phyllis responds, “Okay, why don’t you leave me your number and I’ll call you back later and we can schedule something? Great. Okay, bye…” Phyllis hangs up the phone as her husband, Nicholas Newman, comes downstairs. “Who was that?” Nick asks. “That was the custody evaluator,” she informs him, “I guess Reed’s custody case is moving forward…”

Scene 2

At the Main House on the Newman Ranch, Nikki Newman comes downstairs, dressed in full business attire. She joins her significant other, Victor Newman, in the living room. “You look ready to take on the world,” Victor observes. Nikki smiles. “I feel ready to take on the world,” she states, “and I would feel even better if you could come to the press conference. You know how much it means to me to get to work for Katherine at Chancellor Industries. I’d like it to appear to others that I have your support.”

“You know, I’m very busy today. I have to go to the office, and I have some things to go over before our interview with that Guardian Ad Litem woman, so I can’t make any promises,” Victor replies. “Well, if you can slip away for a while, I would appreciate you being there…,” Nikki repeats. Victor nods. Nikki heads out the door and Victor takes a seat in the living room. He picks up the newspaper, which is face down on the coffee table. Victor sees the front page article: a story about Noah Newman’s fight with Kyle Abbott. Victor slaps the paper back down on the table, his face showing his anger.

Scene 3

In the lobby of Chancellor Industries Headquarters, Katherine Chancellor Murphy, Neil Winters, Jill Abbott, Kevin Fisher, and Tucker McCall have all assembled for a press conference. Katherine’s husband Patrick Murphy is also there to lend support.

“Kevin!” Katherine calls out as she approaches him. “Mrs. C, hi,” he greets her. “I understand Jana had an appointment with Dr. Hamilton first thing this morning,” Katherine says, “How did it go?” “She had a brain scan done,” Kevin answers, “We’re just waiting on the results to see the extent of the damage.” “And if Jana could ever get her memory back,” Katherine adds. “Yeah, that too,” Kevin confirms. “Well, darling, you know I’m hoping for the best,” Katherine continues. “Thank you,” Kevin replies, “Mrs. C, we can never repay you for everything you’ve done.” “And I could never repay you for helping me get my life back. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be here right now.” “Look on the bright side – at least one good thing came out of that whole ordeal that you went through,” Kevin says, “I can’t see how anything good will come out of this for me and Jana.” Katherine looks over at Murphy, realizing that it’s true – if she had never been presumed dead, she never would have met and married Murphy. “Speaking of Murphy, I better go talk to him before I start my speech,” Katherine says, “I’ll talk to you later.”

Scene 4

Phyllis turns to Nick. “She – Roseanne something -- wants to interview us about Victoria,” she informs him. “Yeah, Vick warned me that would be coming,” Nick replies, “Mom and Dad have theirs tomorrow… Did you tell her we wouldn’t be home today?” “Yes, I did,” she confirms, “I told her we are going on a picnic for some quality family time and nothing and no one is going to stop us.” She throws her arms around Nick and gives him a kiss.

They are interrupted by a loud knock on the front door. Phyllis and Nick both give each other confused looks. Nick answers the door. It’s Victor. Victor holds up the newspaper article about Noah Newman’s fight with Kyle Abbott. “What the hell is this?” he says angrily.

Scene 5

Victor lets himself into the Tack House. Nick can tell he’s upset by the article in the newspaper. “Noah, get down here, bud!” Nick calls out. “Um, I’m gonna go upstairs and check on Summer and Faith,” Phyllis offers to give the Newman men some time alone. As Phyllis goes up the stairs, Noah is coming downstairs. He sees Victor holding the newspaper and knows he’s in even more trouble. “Grandpa, just let me explain,” he begins.

“Sit down,” Victor orders. Noah obeys, taking a seat in the living room. “Dad, I’ve already taken care of it,” Nick informs his father, “Noah is my son. You have to let me deal with him.” “And I’m the head of this family!” Victor shouts, “After all the negative press this family got because of the cabin and Adam’s murder, this is the last thing we need.” “I’m sorry, Grandpa,” Noah apologizes. “You should be,” Victor replies, “You should be sorry it wasn’t you who knocked that arrogant SOB through the window.” “Dad—,” Nick says, urging his father to stop. “No, if Jack Abbott’s son is any bit as arrogant and underhanded as he is, then he deserved a hell of a lot more,” Victor continues, “You don’t let that punk push you around anymore, you got it!” “Dad, don’t you dare try to give Noah any ideas,” Nick intervenes. “But if this Kyle comes after Noah again, he needs to know how to defend himself,” Victor explains. “He won’t,” Nick says, “because I already told Jack to keep Kyle away from my son.” “Um, have you two forgotten I’m still right here?” Noah asks. Victor turns to him. “You let me know if you want boxing lessons,” he suggests, before looking back at Nick, “I’ll show myself out…” Nick has a frustrated look on his face.

Scene 6

Jack Abbott comes downstairs and sees his troubled son Kyle Abbott sitting in the living room reading the newspaper. “Well, on the bright side, you’re up without me having to wake you,” Jack points out. Kyle doesn’t say anything. He keeps his head down and flips through the newspaper. “That today’s paper?” Jack asks. “No, it’s last year’s,” Kyle replies sarcastically. Jack shakes his head. “I’ve already gotten a few calls warning me what’s on the front page,” he finally says, trying to make conversation, “I hope that the embarrassment of seeing yourself on the front page teaches you to think twice before getting in another fight.” “I’m not embarrassed,” Kyle informs him, “There’s no such thing as bad publicity, Jack…”

Jack notices that Kyle is reading the Employment section of the Classifieds. “Are you looking for a job?” he inquires. “For you,” Kyle replies, not looking up from the paper, “How are you supposed to feed me, clothe me, and provide shelter for me if you’re unemployed?” “Don’t get smart with me,” Jack warns, “You know we’re doing fine financially.” “Still, you should lead by example,” Kyle retorts, “Be the strong male role model that I seem to be lacking in my life.” Jack ignores the comment. “You know, while you’re there, you should look a job for yourself for the rest of the summer,” Jack suggests, “or I could talk to Ashley. I’m sure she can find something in the Mail Room for you.”

“I’m not working for a company that makes women’s perfume,” Kyle snaps, “That’s a little too pansy for me.” Jack is infuriated by Kyle’s comment. “Don’t you ever disrespect your grandfather or his company like that again! Do you hear me?” he shouts, “He died four years ago today and he would be rolling over in his grave right now. Let me tell you, your grandfather, John Abbott, was an incredible businessman and an incredible father… the greatest father anyone could ever ask for.” “It’s too bad some of those fatherly instincts didn’t rub off on you,” Kyle insults him again. “You know, you’re a real smart alec,” Jack comments, “Just know this… I’m paying for the cost of the damages to the Coffee House and the Boutique, plus Noah’s medical expenses,” Jack tells his son, “That means… one way or another, you’re gonna work off the cost of the damages.”

Scene 7

At the Chancellor press conference, Katherine stands in front of the podium. Jill, Nikki, Murphy, Kevin, Tucker, and Neil are all seated to the right of her, waiting for their chances to speak. “Well, shall we get started?” Katherine says through the microphone, “Ladies and gentleman. Can I have your attention, please?” The members of the press direct their attention to Katherine. She clears her throat. “Hello. Thank you all for coming… as you know, my name is Katherine Chancellor and I’ve recently returned as Head of Chancellor Industries. In light of my return, we are experiencing a transition period here as we make several key changes to our upper management. I’m gonna pass the mic. on to Neil Winters who will tell you more about these changes.”

Neil steps up and joins Katherine at the podium. “Thank you,” he says to Katherine before beginning his speech, “Um, as Katherine said, I’m Neil Winters, CEO of Chancellor Industries. I am happy to announce that Chancellor Industries will be bringing in some talented new executives who I know will bring the energy and enthusiasm and passion needed to help take Chancellor Industries to a new level.” He looks back at Nikki. “Let’s start with Nikki Newman. I believe you have a few words to say,” he continues.

Nikki gets up to the podium. She looks uneasy for a moment. She glances around the room. Finally, she sees Victor standing at the back of the room. She breathes a sigh of relief and then begins to make her speech…

Scene 8

Daniel Romalotti, Jr. arrives at the Main House on the Newman Ranch. He knocks on the front door.

Inside, Sharon Newman rushes into the living room and calls out to the staff that she’ll get the door. She opens the door and sees Daniel standing in the doorway. “Daniel, hi,” she greets him. “Hi,” Daniel replies. ‘So what brings you by?” Sharon asks politely. “I’m actually looking for Noah,” Daniel says, “He owes me a rematch on our basketball game yesterday.” “You mean… you didn’t hear?” Sharon asks him. “Hear what?” Daniel replies, “My phone died. The battery’s been charging… I haven’t heard from anyone.” “Noah got into another fight,” Sharon informs him, “at Fenmore’s this time.” “Is he okay?” Daniel asks, concerned. “He’s gonna be fine,” Sharon answers. She motions for him to come inside. “Why don’t you come on in? I’ll tell you all about it…”

Scene 9

At the Chancellor press conference, Jill is finishing her speech. “…And I have also been CEO of Jabot Cosmetics, which was, until recently, a subsidiary of Chancellor Industries,” Jill says, looking directly at Tucker, “I may not be a Chancellor by blood, but I am a Chancellor in every way that matters. And I cannot tell you how happy I am to be back with this wonderful company that was once my late husband’s. I look forward to many more years of success at Chancellor Industries and I’m certain that we’ll only see good things ahead. Thank you.”

As Neil brings the press conference to a close, Murphy approaches Katherine. “You sounded great,” he compliments her. “You looked great…” “Thank you, darling,” she replies.

Elsewhere, Jill approaches Nikki. “So, it looks like we’ll be working together after all, Nikki,” Jill states. “Looks like it,” Nikki replies, clearly in no mood for Jill. A photographer approaches them and they pose together for a quick photo, both of them giving fake smiles. They immediately separate from one another after the photo is taken.

Neil approaches Nikki and Jill. “Ladies,” he greets them. Jill points her head towards Tucker, who appears to be watching all of them from the sidelines. “Look at him,” she says, “He may have given Katherine back her company, but he is still jockeying for position. Sitting back and waiting for an opportunity to make his next move.” Nikki nods. For once, we actually agree on something,” she replies.

Scene 10

Kyle is skimming the Abbott pool when his friend, Ricky Williams, joins him. “Dude, I saw the paper,” he begins, “You could’ve killed that kid.” “Don’t you start too,” Kyle replies, “He got a couple scratches. That’s it.” “My dad’ll read it when he gets home, and he probably won’t want us to hang out anymore,” “What Daddy doesn’t know won’t hurt him, will it?” Kyle replies, “I’m serious. Doesn’t it get boring being the good, obedient kid all the time? Live on the edge a little, you know? Like me… I’m spending my last year of high school here,” Kyle realizes, “I want everyone to know who I am and that I mean business.” “Well, that article’ll definitely help your reputation,” Ricky comments, “Is that why you did it?” “Dude, I didn’t need to help my image,” Kyle replies, “I’ve always been able to get girls just by snapping my fingers… I banged some ‘Sully’ chick right there in the Poolhouse yesterday…” “No way!” Ricky exclaims. “Yes way,” Kyle confirms. “Wait… so we’ve both been here a week,” Ricky realizes, “and you have a girlfriend already?” “She’s not my girlfriend,” Kyle clarifies, “I don’t do girlfriends. Not mine anyway… I just moved here… I was goin’ through some serious withdrawal. And she was there. Right place, right time. So think of all the action you could get too if you just let loose a little”

Scene 11

Daniel and Sharon sit in the living room of the Main House on the Newman Ranch. Sharon shows Daniel the newspaper article about Noah and Kyle’s fight. “Wow, Noah was really lucky,” Daniel says as he puts down the newspaper. “It was really stupid too what he did,” Sharon says, “Yes, he’s lucky he wasn’t seriously hurt, but he still ruined the rest of his summer.” “Too bad,” Daniel replies, “Maybe with his arms all bandaged, I would actually be able to beat him. He’s gotten really good.” “’Cause he had a really good teacher,” Sharon compliments Daniel. “Thanks,” Daniel says, “Hey – where is Noah anyway? Is he up in his room?” “Nick and Phyllis are taking him and Faith on a picnic to the lake,” Sharon answers, “It was either go with them or be stuck in his room, so Noah decided to go with them. “I’m sure Summer’ll be happy about that,” Daniel comments.

“You were looking forward to this,” Sharon realizes, “Playing basketball with Noah.” Daniel nods. “Yeah, I was,” he admits, “Since Amber left, and Jana lost her memory, and Kevin’s been spending all his time obsessing over her, nothing’s been the same. At least, if I was hanging out with Noah, something would feel normal.” “I’m sorry… Noah should’ve called you to tell you he couldn’t go,” Sharon says, “He probably just had other things on his mind. I’m sure he forgot.” “Well, like I said, my phone’s been charging, so I wouldn’t have gotten his message anyway,” Daniel reminds her. “Right,” Sharon replies. “And you know, at least, by coming over here, I got out of my place for a bit. Every time I’m there I just feel so…” “Alone,” Sharon finishes his sentence. “Yeah, alone,” Daniel says. He stands up to leave. “Well, I guess I better get out of your hair.”

“Wait -- I know what that’s like… to feel alone,” Sharon sympathizes, “Nick and your mom have Faith and Noah today. Victor and Nikki are off to a press conference and then to the office, so I’ll be by myself the whole day.” Sharon suddenly thinks of something.

“Hey… I have an idea,” she begins before changing her mind, “No, forget it... it’s silly…” “What?” Daniel asks, “I want to hear what you were gonna say.” “Well, it won’t be the same as with Noah, but it’s better than the two of us sitting alone at home all day…,” Sharon says, “I challenge you to a game of basketball.” Daniel smirks. “You challenge me?” he repeats. “I believe that’s what I said,” Sharon confirms. Daniel is amused. “When you say ‘challenge,’ you make it sound like it’ll actually be hard to beat you,” Daniel trash-talks. “Who says you’re gonna beat me?” Sharon dishes it right back. “Alright, then, let’s see what you got,” he agrees…

Scene 12

After the Chancellor Industries press conference, Tucker approaches Katherine and Murphy. “Katherine, may I have a word with you?” he requests, “Privately…” “Oh, anything you have to say to me, you can say in front of Murph,” Katherine informs her son. “This is about what we discussed at the Athletic Club,” Tucker clarifies. “Murphy knows all about my search,” Katherine says. “That’s right,” Murphy nods, “There are no secrets between us.” “Alright, well, I’m happy to say I think you’re one step closer to finding Jill’s birth parents,” Tucker announces. “You found Eileen Ramsey?” Katherine asks excitedly, her eyes lighting up. “It turns out Charlotte has an idea where she might be after all,” Tucker explains, “Now, that doesn’t mean Eileen knows anything about Jill’s birth…” “But we can’t be sure until we speak to her,” Katherine realizes, “Oh, Tucker, thank you, darling. Thank you.” She gives him a hug, catching him by surprise.

Jill watches Tucker and Katherine hugging. She turns to Neil. “Makes you sick, doesn’t it?” she asks. Neil nods. “I do not trust that man one bit,” he states. “Join the club,” Jill replies…

Scene 13

Kyle and Ricky continue to talk out by the pool. “So anyway, man, if you want that girl’s number, just let me know,” Kyle offers. “No offense, bro, but I think I’d rather build a meaningful relationship first before I go right to home base, if you know what I mean.” Kyle is surprised. “Have you even gone past the first base, Rick?” Kyle asks with a judgmental tone. “Yeah,” Ricky immediately states, “Lots of times. I’m not saying I haven’t gone to home base before. I’m just saying, I’m not gonna do it just for the sake of doing it.” “If you have a hot girl standin’ in front of you, and she’s willing to give up the goods, why turn her down?” Kyle ponders, “The only reason you would say no is if you’re gay.” “I’m not gay,” Ricky states. “Then what’s the big deal?” Kyle follows up, “You’re young. You supposed to have fun at this age. Explore a little. And I’m tellin’ you, dude, this girl was the best I’ve had in a while… for a high school girl, anyway…” He’s bragging. Ricky still doesn’t listen though. “You know, I appreciate what you’re trying to do,” he replies, “but I think I’ll pass.” Kyle shrugs his shoulders. “Your loss,” he replies.

“Can we talk about something else?” Ricky requests, “Like how you’re not grounded for life right now.” “Jack thinks he can control me, but he can’t,” Kyle replies, “He didn’t ground me. ‘Cause he knew I wouldn’t listen anyway.” “So you’re not in trouble at all?” Ricky asks in disbelief. “He’s makin’ me do chores,” Kyle instructs, “like cleaning this pool. Well, he thinks he can make me do them. I’m going along with it right now to get him off my back. But I’m not gonna let him ruin the rest of my summer. It’s time we started doing what we want. Who gives a crap about what our parents want?” He puts his arm around Ricky. “What do ya say, Pal – Amigo?” he asks, “Are you in or are you out?”

Scene 14

Kevin is getting settled into his new office at Chancellor Industries. Suddenly, there’s a knock on the door and Kevin turns around to see Jack. He’s taken by surprise. “I called the Coffee House,” Jack begins, “They told me you were here.” “Something I can help you with, Jack?” Kevin asks. “First day on the job, I hear?” Jack continues, not answering Kevin’s question. “That’s right,” Kevin replies, “so I’m a little busy right now…”

“I won’t keep you,” Jack says. “Alright, come in,” Kevin reluctantly agrees. “Thanks,” Jack says as he steps inside, “Listen… I understand there was a fight in the Coffee House yesterday…” “Yeah, one of the kids was your step-son,” Kevin tells Jack. “The other one was my son,” Jack reveals. “Huh?” Kevin replies, “He never said his name was Abbott.” “Yeah, we’re having some problems right now,” Jack explains, “I’m sure he wanted to separate himself from me in every way possible…” “Can’t say I blame him,” Kevin remarks. “Look… I know you have every reason to say no, but is there any way that we can set something up for Kyle to work at the Coffee House for a few weeks?” Kevin gives him a confused look. “I’ll pay you for the cost of the damages to the Coffee House, but I want Kyle to work off the cost that I’m paying so he doesn’t get off scot-free.” “Why would I want a trouble-maker working for me… even if it’s technically for free?” Kevin counters Jack’s offer, “Who’s to say he won’t get in another fight and destroy the place even more?” “He won’t,” Jack insists, “Look… can we just give it a try for a little while and see how it works out? I know I’m asking a lot here.” Kevin takes a deep breath. “Fine,” he agrees, “Just call me later and we’ll work out the details.” “Thank you,” Jack says appreciatively. “Um, Jack? I talked to my mother today,” Kevin says, before Jack leaves, “I know it’s been four years for your dad today… um, I’m thinking about Mr. Abbott today. He was a good man.” “Yeah, he sure was,” Jack agrees, “Thank you, Kevin. That’s a very nice thing for you to say…” And with that, he leaves Kevin’s new office.

Scene 15

Nick, Phyllis, Noah, Summer, and Faith are all sitting under a tree having a picnic by the lake. They’ve just finished eating lunch and Nick is feeding Faith. “This is such a great spot,” Phyllis states. “Yeah, Vick brings Reed here all the time when she has him,” Nick replies. “Can Auntie Victoria and Reed come with us next time?” Summer asks. “I’ll ask her,” Nick answers, “I’m sure she would love that.” “Yeah, that is a great idea!” Phyllis agrees, “Listen… Mommy and Daddy are gonna take a little walk for a few minutes, okay?” “But we’re just about to have tea,” Summer says. She’s setting up her miniature tea set on the picnic blanket.

“I can stay here with Summer and Faith, if you want,” Noah offers, “I’m never too old to have tea with my sister.” “Thanks. We’re just gonna go stretch our legs for a little bit,” Phyllis says. “Down that path over there,” Nick points. “We won’t be gone long,” Phyllis adds.

Scene 16

Daniel and Sharon are now out on the Athletic Club basketball court. “So you really want to do this?” Daniel double-checks. “Yes, I really wanna do this!” Sharon insists. “You do know how to play basketball, right?” Daniel asks jokingly. “Yes! I’ve watched Noah’s games for years,” Sharon replies. “When’s the last time you’ve played?” Daniel follows up. Sharon thinks for a moment. “I may be a little rusty, but I can handle myself,” she says. “Don’t think I’m gonna go easy on you, just because you’re a mom.” “I don’t want you to go easy on me, period,” Sharon replies confidently, “As a matter of fact, I don’t need you to go easy on me. I can do this… I’m gonna win.” Daniel smirks again. “In order to do that, you have to get the ball first,” he teases. He moves the ball around in his hands, and then holds it up over his head so that Sharon can’t reach it. She tries unsuccessfully to knock it out of his hand. “Come on,” Daniel encourages her, “It’s gonna take more than that to get this ball from me.” Sharon makes another attempt but is unsuccessful. Daniel runs up to the net, shoots the ball, and scores a basket. “I thought you said you were gonna make it hard for me,” he tells Sharon. “Oh, I am. I was just getting warmed up,” she replies.

Scene 17

After the Press Conference, Nikki visits Victor in his office at Newman Enterprises. “Um, I wanted to thank you for being there at the press conference today,” she tells Victor. “Well, you know, after what you said this morning, I decided to clear my calendar,” Victor explains. “Well, it meant a lot to me,” Nikki admits. “If it’s important to you, then it’s important to me,” Victor states, “In the past, I haven’t been supportive of you and your desires and pursuits of a career. You said it yourself, and I realize it all too well. I don’t want to push you away again by making the same mistakes.” Nikki embraces him. “No mistakes this time,” she says. Victor nods. “No mistakes this time,” he repeats. They kiss.

Scene 18

After the Chancellor Industries Press Conference, Jill and Neil continue to stare at Tucker from afar. “Are you jealous of him because of his relationship with Ashley [Abbott]?” Jill inquires. “What relationship with Ashley?” Neil replies, “They work together. He’s her boss. That’s their relationship.” Jill shakes her head. “Not according to my ‘sources’ at the Athletic Club,” she elaborates, “Apparently, Tucker and Ashley had a date yesterday.” Neil brushes off the suggestion. “Ashley doesn’t like or trust the man,” he tells Jill, “There must have been a misunderstanding.” “But if there wasn’t?” Jill presses. “If there wasn’t, Ashley and I have agreed to be just friends,” Neil admits, “She can see whoever she wants.” “Even if it’s Tucker McCall?” Jill asks, “Neil, don’t forget how I was burned by that man. Is that what you want to happen to Ashley?” “No offense, Jill, but Ashley’s a strong, capable woman,” Neil says, “I think she’s too smart to be taken in by Tucker McCall…”

Scene 19

Jack returns to the Abbott Manor and heads out to the pool to check on Kyle. Kyle and Ricky are swimming in the pool. “Hi Ricky,” Jack says politely. “Hey Mr. Abbott,” Ricky replies. Jack turns to Kyle. “I said to clean the pool, not use it,” he reminds his son. “I did clean it,” Kyle replies, “And what’s the point of cleaning it if you’re not gonna use it?”

“Um, Ricky, can you take off for a few minutes?” Jack requests. “Yeah, sure,” Ricky agrees. He gets out of the pool. “Why don’t you go dry off in the pool house?” Jack suggests, “There’s some extra towels in there.” Ricky nods. “Catch ya later, Amigo,” Kyle calls out as Ricky heads inside.

Jack turns to Kyle. “I arranged for you to work off the cost of the damages by taking on a few shifts at the Coffee House,” he arranges. “Not doin’ it,” Kyle refuses immediately. “Oh yes, you are,” Jack says authoritatively, “You’re lucky I didn’t go to Lauren and make you work at the Boutique too.”

Scene 20

Daniel and Sharon are now in the middle of a heated basketball game. Sharon looks down as she dribbles the ball and Daniel steals it from her. He tries to shoot a three-pointer, but it bounces off the rim, missing the net. “That was in! Come on!” Daniel shouts. Unlike Daniel, when it’s Sharon’s turn to shoot for the basket, she scores a point, much to his surprise. “Ha! Take that!” Sharon gloats. “Lucky shot!” Daniel replies, dismissing her point. “Just like my two other ones, right?” Sharon asks. “Okay, I admit, you had a slow start but you’ve been alright since then,” Daniel confesses. “Just alright?” Sharon says. “Yeah, ‘cause if you were good, you would have seen this comin’,” Daniel tells her as he suddenly and unexpectedly knocks the ball out of her hand. “No fair!” Sharon calls as she chases after him to block his shot at the net.

Sharon tries to steal the ball back away from Daniel. She loses her balance, and falls forward onto Daniel, who in turn falls back and hits the pavement, breaking her fall. “Oh my God, Daniel! I’m so sorry,” Sharon apologizes, “Are you okay?” He gets up slowly, shrugging it off. “Yeah, fine,” he answers, “Don’t worry about it.” It’s clear that he’s experiencing a bit of pain and discomfort, though. “Let me see,” Sharon offers, “just to make sure.” Sharon lifts up the back of his shirt and notices his lower back is a little red. She rubs it gently. “Is it sore?” she asks. “A little,” Daniel admits. Sharon continues to massage it. “How’s that feel?” Sharon inquires. “Good,” Daniel replies, “Actually, really good. Keep doing that.” Sharon finds herself moving her hands further up Daniel’s back. Daniel doesn’t mind. Suddenly, Sharon stops. “Um, let’s just call it a tie,” she suggests. “Afraid to lose by even more?” Daniel asks. “No, that way you wouldn’t have to be embarrassed when I caught up to your score and passed it,” Sharon replies. “Like that was ever gonna happen,” Daniel retorts. “It would’ve,” Sharon insists playfully. “No,” Daniel denies it again. “Yes,” Sharon repeats. They both smile and laugh, realizing that they’ve had a good time together…

Scene 21

Phyllis and Nick are walking along a beaten path in a wooded area by the lake. “So this is nice, just the two of us,” Phyllis states. “Yeah, it is,” Nick agrees. “No one trying to ruin our day; no Sharon,” Phyllis continues, “Just me and my handsome, hot husband. The way it should be.”

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a black sedan (built around the mid-1990s) comes tearing down the path, headed straight for Nick and Phyllis! They turn back and see the vehicle quickly approaching. “Look out!” Nick shouts as they start to run away. They’re surrounded by trees on both sides of the path, so they keep running straight. The vehicle remains in pursuit of them. Finally, they manage to jump off to the side into a group of bushes. The car can’t stop quickly enough and continues past them.

The vehicle, whose driver cannot be seen, manages to turn around and then speeds off back where it came from. Nick and Phyllis remain in the bushes for a few minutes, hiding, trying to catch their breath…

Next Time on The Young and The Restless

Jack Abbott, Diane Jenkins, and Phyllis Newman are talking together at the Athletic Club. As Jack leaves, he tells Diane, “I’ll meet you at home.” This catches Phyllis off-guard. She questions Diane once Jack is gone. “You mean, you’re living at the Abbott Mansion?” she says, “Boy, you work fast…”

Tucker McCall is meeting with Paul Williams and Katherine Chancellor Murphy about the investigation into Jill Abbott’s birth parents. “I’m gonna tell you something that I don’t want Jill to know about…,” Tucker begins, “the whereabouts of Eileen Ramsey...”

Kevin Fisher, Scott Grainger, Jr., Daniel Romalotti, Jr., and Ryder Callahan are having a “guys’ night out” at Jimmy’s Bar. Kevin raises his mug. “Let’s make a toast… to ‘the Brotherhood,’” he suggests, “And to never letting a woman come between us…”
