Scene 1

At the Newman Pool, Noah Newman and his girlfriend Eden Gerick keep a close eye on Abby Carlton, who is keeping a close eye on the older Ryder Callahan. Abby openly watches Ryder lying back in a lounge chair by the pool. “She’s so obviously into him,” Eden informs Noah, “Look at her, practically drooling. It’s creepy… I mean he’s not bad looking or anything, but after all the things he did to both our families, I don’t know how anyone can trust him.” Noah gives Eden a look. “’He’s not bad looking?’” he mocks her, “What are you doing checking out other guys when you have me?” “I wasn’t checking him out,” Eden defends herself, “I was just saying, I can understand how a spoiled princess like Abby might be interested in someone like Ryder, despite all the things he did.” Noah listens to her defense, and then asks for reassurance: “…But he doesn’t compare to me though, right?” “Of course not,” Eden replies confidently, and then gives Noah a quick kiss.

Scene 2

Daniel Romalotti, Jr. arrives at the Newman Pool. “Hey, there’s my super-wonderful son!” Phyllis Newman calls out excitedly. She gives Daniel a hug. “Glad you could come.” “Well, let’s see,” Daniel begins, “pool party or empty studio? Pool party or empty studio…” He holds his hands out and moves them up and down, as if weighing out his options. “I see,” Phyllis says, “Not a hard choice, huh, between coming here or being surrounded by memories of…” Daniel cuts her off. “Don’t say her name,” he tells Phyllis, “I promised myself an Amb….” Daniel smirks, realizing he is the one who tripped up, “an Amber-free day.” “So much for that,” Phyllis laughs. “Yeah… so much for that…,” Daniel repeats. “Well, while we’re on the subject…,” Phyllis begins. Daniel scoffs. “Yeah, I can see you’re still not in the mood to talk,” Phyllis continues. “Not about Amber,” Daniel clarifies. “Look, Daniel,” Phyllis says, “It’s no secret that Amber and I didn’t see eye to eye on a lot of things. But I really am sorry that you’re hurting right now. When you wanna talk about it…” “Yeah, I know,” Daniel nods, “You’re here.”

“Daniel!” someone calls from behind. Daniel turns around to see young Fenmore Baldwin and Summer Newman. “Hey! Guess what I brought?” Daniel teases, “Supersoakers!!” The kids cheer. “Why don’t you give me a bit of time with my mom and… Uncle Kevin,” Daniel says to them, “and then we can play later on, okay?” They nod. As Summer and Fen go back to the pool, Daniel turns to Phyllis: “Ironic, isn’t it? Kids were the reason my marriage broke up, and now they’re gonna get me through it…”

Scene 3

Poolside, Daniel and his best friend Kevin Fisher are catching up. “You came with Jana…,” Daniel notices, “That’s a good sign.” “Not really. She’s been keeping her distance from me the whole time,” Kevin explains, as he looks over at his wife, Jana Hawkes Fisher, sitting by herself beneath an umbrella, “and I don’t wanna crowd her, but I hate seeing her just sitting there… alone, doing nothing. I don’t even think she’s moved from that seat for the past half-hour.” “Do you think you should take her home?” Daniel wonders. “No, she insists on staying,” Kevin reveals, “which, I don’t know why. I mean, we’re supposed to be celebrating that she and Lauren are safe, and she won’t even talk to anyone.” ”On some level, just being here must be helping her to reconnect with family and friends,” Daniel speculates. “Hopefully,” Kevin mutters. “Only there’s one friend missing…,” Daniel points out, “Amber should be here too.”

Scene 4

In the living room of the Chancellor Estate, Katherine Chancellor Murphy speaks on the phone to her good friend Amber Moore Romalotti, who is calling from California. “Alright, you be safe, darling… I miss you too… I want to hear from you again soon. Okay, bye,” Katherine says as she hangs up the phone.

Katherine’s long-time maid and friend Esther Valentine enters the room. “Here you go, Mrs. C,” Esther says as she hands Katherine a cup of tea. “Thank you, dear,” Katherine replies. “That was Amber… on the phone, just now.” “Oh?” Esther replies, “How’s she doing?” “She’s just getting re-settled in LA,” Katherine explains, “She found a small apartment for herself and … Eric. She got a job as a waitress, and she’s been scouted by a talent agency. She might do some modeling and acting on the side.” “Wow, it sounds like Amber’s really landed on her two feet.” “Oh, I never doubted that she would. A lot of people have underestimated that girl, but not me,” Katherine admits, “I always knew she could do anything she put her mind to, and she’s proven me right. Tears well up in Katherine’s eyes. “I miss her so much, Esther,” she confesses. “I know what that’s like,” Esther agrees, “I miss my Katie,” she says, referring to her daughter Chloe, who is currently in Australia with her boyfriend Chance and her daughter Delia. “This house certainly has never been quieter,” Katherine observes, before turning more serious, “and lonelier…” “Now, if we could only get Jill to leave,” Esther jokes. Katherine laughs. “My dear, you know as well as I do, that’s not going to happen anytime soon,” Katherine answers. “Of course it won’t, Mrs. C,” Esther says, “I’m not that lucky.” “No, but you are very lucky, my dear,” Katherine tells Esther, “You have a beautiful daughter and a beautiful granddaughter who love you very much, and they’ll be home soon.” “I know…,” Esther agrees. “And you know,” Katherine continues, “Chance is very lucky that Chloe was willing to go with him to Australia… and that he didn’t have to lose her in order to spend time with his father… Amber… she had to give up Daniel in order to make sure Eric was safe, and that is a sacrifice no one should have to make.”

Scene 5

At the Newman Pool, Daniel and Kevin discuss Daniel’s wife, Amber. “I told myself I wouldn’t think about Amber today,” Daniel confesses again, “and there I go, bringing her up every chance I get.” “It’s okay, dude,” Kevin assures him, “No one expects you to just forget about Amber overnight.” Daniel stares blankly ahead. “Do you think she’s ever gonna come back?” He finally asks. Kevin is optimistic: “I never gave up on Jana when she was gone, and she came back,” Kevin says, “Maybe Amber will too.” “But Jana, she was taken and held against her will,” Daniel reminds Kevin, “Amber made the decision to leave on her own, knowing full-well how I felt about it.” “But if you still have feelings for her, dude, you can’t give up.” Daniel is unconvinced. “That doesn’t matter now,” Daniel states. He’s starting to accept that Amber is gone, “I guess Amber and I… we just weren’t meant to be…”

Scene 6

Esther re-enters the living room of the Chancellor Estate, where Katherine is still sitting on the couch and drinking tea. “Mrs. C…,” she says to alert Katherine to her presence and to the presence of a guest. The guest walks into the living room. It’s Katherine’s best friend Nikki Newman.

“Oh, how are you, Old Friend?” Katherine says, as she stands up to hug Nikki, “You must be so relieved now that Nicholas and Victor have been released from prison.” “Katherine, you have no idea,” Nikki tells her. “Please take a seat,” Katherine instructs, “So what brings you by, darling?” “Do I need a reason to come by?” Nikki says coyly, “Can’t I just want to catch up with a dear friend?” But Katherine gets the distinct feeling that Nikki needed someone to talk to. “Darling, this is me you’re talking to,” Katherine says knowingly, “Now something has obviously got you very troubled. Tell me what it is.”

Scene 7

Back at the Newman Pool, Ryder approaches Jana, who is still sitting alone underneath the umbrella. “Um… Jana,” Ryder says shyly. Jana looks up. “You’re Ryder; you’re Kevin’s brother,” she says aloud, trying to jog her memory. “If you don’t wanna see me or talk to me, I understand,” Ryder tells her. “Why wouldn’t I want to talk to you?” Jana asks, confused, “Kevin told me you helped save my life.” “But you don’t remember anything about what happened?” Ryder inquires, “You don’t remember Sarah and Daisy?” “Who are Sarah and Daisy?” Jana presses him for more. “Forget it,” Ryder stops himself, regretting what he already said, “I don’t want Kevin to be upset with me again.” “What did you do for Kevin to be upset with you?” Jana wants to know. “Can we please not talk about me and Kevin?” Ryder requests, “I came here to talk about you and Kevin: When you were – um, before your – look, before you lost your memory, all you could think about was getting back to Kevin,” Ryder explains, “and how much you missed him, and that you were worried he would think you didn’t love him anymore. But you did love him. You loved him very much, and I believe that deep down, you still do.” “How do you know all this?” Jana wonders aloud. “Jana, I think I’ve said too much already. I just wanted to help Kevin,” Ryder explains himself, “He’s been so good to me, even though I….” “Even though you what?” Jana asks. Ryder avoids the question. “Just, please, you have to believe what I’m telling you about Kevin and how much you loved him.” “I don’t remember anything about you,” Jana confesses, “So you have a clean slate... I have no reason not to believe you.”

“Excuse us,” Kevin says, having overheard the tail-end of Ryder’s conversation with Jana. Kevin grabs Ryder’s arm and pulls him away from Jana. “Dude, what the hell did you tell her?” Kevin demands. Ryder has a guilty look on his face. “I told her that she loves you,” Ryder begins, “and I kind-of mentioned Sarah and Daisy.” “You what!?” Kevin reacts. “I didn’t mean to!” Ryder defends himself, “It was an accident.” “Ryder, I told you before I didn’t want you to talk to Jana about any of this. She doesn’t even know she was kidnapped. I just told her she had an aneurism.” “I was just trying to help,” Ryder explains, a sad look on his face. “I know,” Kevin understands, “but don’t.”

Scene 8

Ryder returns to the lounge chair by the edge of the pool. Abby swims over to him. “This is a pool party, you know, and you have yet to get in the pool,” she points out. “It’s hard for me to have fun when I see what I did to them,” Ryder tells her, glancing over at Jana sitting alone under the umbrella. Kevin approaches her.

“Are you having a good time?” he asks Jana. “The weather’s nice… for a pool party, I mean,” Jana replies, somewhat avoiding the question. “Well, are you hungry?” Kevin inquires, “Do you want me to bring you anything?” “No, thanks, I’m not hungry,” Jana states. “Are you sure you don’t wanna go swimming?” Kevin asks next, still trying to be optimistic that she’ll change her mind. “I’m sure,” Jana replies confidently again. “Do you wanna do anything with me?” Kevin asks, with a bit of an attitude, “Sorry; that came out wrong.” “I’m just not in the mood, Kevin,” Jana repeats, “I’m sorry that you can’t understand that.” She gets up and walks away. Kevin kicks himself for saying the wrong things again: “Damn it.”

Ryder notices Kevin’s frustration. “I screwed up… big time,” he tells Abby, as he leans over the pool, “I just wanted to tell Jana how much she loves Kevin, but I said something I shouldn’t have.” “I think it’s sweet that you wanted to help, but you have to stop punishing yourself,” Abby says. She splashes water on Ryder a few times. “Now come on, get in. I promise, you’ll forget about all your troubles.” Suddenly, she pops up out of the water and grabs Ryder’s arm, pulling him into the pool.

Scene 9

Elsewhere by the pool, Jana approaches Phyllis. “Um, were we close?” Jana inquires abruptly. Phyllis is unsure how to respond. “We had some fun times in prison together,” she says sarcastically, “I’m sure that’s a time you’re glad you don’t remember.” “I was in prison?” Jana reacts, stunned, “For what?” Phyllis regrets what she said. “I probably shouldn’t have been the one to tell you this,” Phyllis replies, “I think you should ask Kevin.” “I’m asking you… please,” Jana pleads, “Kevin would never tell me about something like that. He’d be too worried about protecting my feelings and upholding his image of me as his perfect wife.” Phyllis still doesn’t answer. “Please, Phyllis,” Jana begs, “Is there anything you can tell me?” “Here’s what I can tell you,” Phyllis decides, “You’re good friends with my son, Daniel. He’s best friends with Kevin. Do you remember him?” “Just what Kevin’s told me,” Jana replies, “which apparently is only the things he wants me to remember.”

Scene 10

At the other side of the pool, Scott Grainger, Jr. and Daniel are both getting food from the snack table. “Hey man, it’s good seeing you again,” Daniel says. “Yeah, you too,” Scott agrees. He tries to make conversation. “So it looks like we’re the only two bachelors here,” Scott points out, looking around at all the couples around them, “I mean, even Fen has Summer to keep him company.” “Yeah, they’re lucky,” Daniel states, “They’re still at the age where guys and girls can be just friends. You know, it’s so much simpler that way. A few more years and things’ll get way more complicated… Dating, marriage, children. And someone always winds up getting hurt.” “Hey, I’ll take my chances,” Scott remarks with a laugh, “It’s been a while since I’ve been goin’ steady with anyone.” “I don’t think I’m ever ‘going steady’ with anyone ever again,” Daniel replies. He sounds serious, “I’ll tell ya, brother. Two marriages dead by the time I’m 23. If that isn’t some kind of record… The first time, with Lily, was my fault; I was young and immature, and I made a lot of mistakes. The second time – her name was Amber and she was and is the girl of my dreams – I mean, I’m still young and immature, but I thought we had a real chance of making it. I guess love just wasn’t enough.” “Man, I’m sorry it worked out that way. That’s rough,” Scott sympathizes, “Hey listen – if you ever wanna shoot some hoops or go out for a drink, you know, for some guy talk, let me know.” “Yeah, you know what?” Daniel says, “Kevin has been so focused on Jana lately, we haven’t really had a chance to hang out much. But yeah, I need to find somethin’ to take my mind off of Amber.” “Cool, just let me know when,” Scott replies, “As long as I’m still flying solo, I got nothing but time on my hands.”

“Hey, seriously, man, don’t let my screwed up love life discourage you,” Daniel offers, “If you’re ready to meet someone, then go for it. Maybe you’ll have better luck than me.” “I gotta admit, when my mom told me about this pool party,” Scott begins, “I was kinda hoping there’d be some single women here.” “And instead you’re stuck talkin’ to me,” Daniel jokes. “No, I just mean, when I think of pool parties, I think of girls in bikinis, and the only girl in our age group is Jana,” Scott points out. “Yeah… and she’s off-limits,” Daniel states. Jana has overheard the tail-end of Scott and Daniel’s conversation. She approaches Scott. “Don’t worry, Scott. The right woman for you is out there somewhere,” she assures him. “You’ll find her. You never know: maybe she’s right here in Genoa City…”

Scene 11

Abby and Ryder are in the pool together. “I think you’re right,” Ryder begins, “This water is relaxing.” “See, I told you,” Abby boasts, “You should listen to me more often.” “I’ll try to remember that”, Ryder says. “Hey, I got an idea,” Abby suggests abruptly, counting on Ryder listening to her again, “Why don’t I give you a private tour of the Ranch. It’ll be fun… And no one’ll notice if we disappear for a while.” “But if they do…,” Ryder protests. “Who cares? We’re not doing anything wrong,” Abby insists. Ryder scratches his head. “Okay, sure,” he decides. “Great,” Abby smiles a mischievous smile. They hop out of the pool and grab towels to dry themselves off.

Noah and Eden are at the other end of the pool together. Noah notices that Abby and Ryder are no longer out at the pool area. “Where did Abby and Ryder take off to?” he wonders aloud. “Who cares?” Eden replies, “We’ve already warned her about him. If she’s too stupid to listen, that’s her own fault.” Noah shakes his head. “I can’t let her make a mistake like that,” he decides, “I mean, getting involved with that creep, it’s the worst thing she could do.” “You’re not her babysitter,” Eden reminds him, “and you’re not her parent.” “No, but I’m her friend,” Noah says with conviction, “Come on, let’s go find them.” Eden scoffs. They swim over to the edge of the pool and hop out.

Scene 12

Sharon Newman stops in at the party. Her former husband Nick greets her. “Sharon – hey,” Nick says. “Hey, Nick,” Sharon says, “It’s really a beautiful day, isn’t it? “Yeah, it sure is,” Nick replies, “How’s Faith?” “I just put her down for the afternoon,” Sharon tells Nick, “You should have seen her this morning. She had the cutest little smile...” “That’s my girl,” Nick interrupts. “…Reminds me a lot of Noah when he was that age,” Sharon finishes.

“Speaking of Noah – is he here?” Sharon inquires. “Yeah, he should be around here, somewhere…,” Nick replies, as he glances around to look for Noah. “If you see him…,” Sharon begins. Nick nods. “Yeah, I’ll tell him that you’re looking for him,” Nick completes her thought. “Thanks,” Sharon says with a smile.

Scene 13

Lauren takes a seat beside Jana under the umbrella by the Newman Pool. “What are you up to?” Lauren inquires. “I’m just observing,” Jana says softly as she stares blankly ahead, “Trying to figure it all out.” “How are you doing, sweetie, really?” Lauren asks. Jana turns her head so that she’s now facing Lauren. “I don’t mean to be rude, but I wish everyone would stop asking me how I am,” she replies. “I’m sorry,” Lauren apologizes, “I know it must be overwhelming having to constantly explain yourself to everyone.” Jana nods. “It’s not only that, but I don’t know how I am… because I don’t know who I am… I mean, I don’t know how the old Jana would feel right now, what she would be doing. Would she go swimming, or would she work on her suntan? What would she eat? Yeah, that’s right. I don’t even remember what kind of foods I like.” Lauren is sympathetic. “Honey, you keep talking about the old Jana like she’s someone completely different,” Lauren states, “You are still the same kind, beautiful, unique person that you always were. You just have to rediscover yourself. And it might help to talk to someone.” Lauren grabs Jana’s hand and looks into her eyes. “Tell me what you’re feeling,” Lauren says kindly. Jana sighs. “I feel so lost, Lauren,” she finally admits, “I just, I feel like I’m surrounded by a sea of people who are supposed to be my friends, and yet I wouldn’t know them from any stranger on the street. But even though I don’t remember you, I also feel… I feel that I can trust you.” “Of course you can,” Lauren reassures Jana, “And if there are ever things that you’re afraid to tell Kevin, you can come to me, okay? I want you to remember that.”

Scene 14

In the living room of the Chancellor Estate, Katherine and Nikki continue their conversation. “…And get this -- they’ve appointed some woman -- a ‘Guardian Ad Litem’-- to make a recommendation to the judge as to who should be granted custody of Reed,” Nikki complains, “She’ll be interviewing Victoria and JT tomorrow about their parenting. Then, later on, she’ll be watching them individually as they spend time with Reed.” “Watching them?” Katherine is confused, “You mean, to evaluate them? Nikki nods. “Yes,” she says, “Can you imagine how degrading that must feel to have your parenting skills scrutinized and judged like that? It’s absurd…” “Well, maybe this is Victoria’s best chance at joint custody,” Katherine offers, “The judge will see unbiased evidence that Victoria is an excellent mother and that there’s no reason to keep her away from her son.” “Well, I certainly hope that’s how it works out,” Nikki agrees, “but for Victoria to have to go through that stress, to be subjected to that kind of investigation, it never should have come to that in the first place.”

Scene 15

Lauren, Scott, and Kevin are standing around drinking lemonade by the pool. “Honey, where are you staying?” Lauren inquires. “I haven’t really thought ahead,” Scott admits. “I wish we could offer you the other bedroom,” Lauren admits, “but Michael’s sister, Eden, just got back from Paris.” “And I’d let you crash at our place…,” Kevin says, “if I wasn’t staying in the guest room…” “Yeah, that’s no problem. Thanks, but I don’t want to impose myself on either of you,” Scott tells them. “Honey, it’s no imposition. You’re my son,” Lauren assures him, “Now, you can stay with Michael and me, if you don’t mind staying on the couch. If you’d rather have more privacy, I’m getting you a room at the Athletic Club, and I don’t want to hear anymore about it.”

Scene 16

At the Newman Pool, Daniel is crouched down at the hose filling up water balloons. Summer and Fen hover around him eagerly. “I want a pink one,” Summer tells her big brother. “You want a pink one?” Daniel repeats, as he reaches for the bag of balloons and rummages through it, “Let’s see what we can do.” He grabs a pink balloon and fills it up for Summer.

Fen picks up a large water balloon from the pile that Daniel is creating and smashes it on the ground, splashing water on Daniel and Summer. “Buddy, don’t waste the big ones,” Daniel tells him nicely, “Those are for later.” Daniel piles a few more water balloons together. “You two ready?” He asks Summer and Fen, “Let’s go have some fun!” They all enthusiastically grab water balloons. Daniel starts to chase Summer and Fen, who team up against him and both throw water balloons in his direction.

Sharon watches from the sidelines and is somehow comforted by the sight of their seemingly carefree life.

Scene 17

Michael and Lauren are lying together on a floating seat in the Newman Pool. “I can’t think of the last time I’ve been in a pool,” Lauren admits, “We should do this more often.” “Well, I can make that happen,” Michael tells her, “Victor has offered us the pool anytime we want it.” “That sounds wonderful,” Lauren smiles, “I don’t want this moment to end.” “Take a look around us,” Michael begins, “Look at this water. It’s calm, peaceful. That’s the way our lives are gonna be form now on. You see, our troubles are behind us, Lauren. It’s smooth sailing from now on, I promise you.”

Scene 18

Sharon approaches Daniel at the refreshment table. “Hi Daniel,” she says politely. “Hey… Sharon,” Daniel replies. “Nice day for a party,” Sharon tries to make conversation. “Yeah, I’m havin’ a great time,” Daniel tells her. “Have you seen Noah?” Sharon asks him. “Not for a while,” Daniel informs her as he pours himself a glass of lemonade. “You want something to drink?” he asks. “Sure, some lemonade would be nice,” Sharon replies. Daniel pours her a glass and hands it to her. Sharon thanks him. Daniel chugs the entire glass down. “Refreshing,” he says with a smile, after taking the last gulp. Sharon smiles back. “Yeah, kids can really wear you out sometimes, huh?” she says knowingly. Daniel smirks. “Um, I was watching you earlier with Summer and Fen,” Sharon confesses, “You’re gonna make a great father someday.” Daniel chuckles. “Sometime… a long time from now. Maybe,” he responds. “Oh, yeah, absolutely!” Sharon assures him, “I didn’t mean to imply right now. I mean, I know you and Amber -- I’m sorry – I shouldn’t have brought that up.” “It’s fine,” Daniel tells her, “Amber and I – we just wanted two different things...”

Suddenly, Fen jumps in between Daniel and Sharon and starts squirting Daniel with his super soaker. “Hey, no fair!” Daniel yells, jokingly, “I wasn’t ready, buddy! But now I am!” Daniel quickly grabs his super soaker, which he had set down on the refreshment table. He chases after Fen.

Scene 19

Nick and Michael are talking at the side of the pool when Kevin approaches them. “Mikey; Nick,” he greets them. “Hi Kevin,” Nick says, “How’s your wife doin’?” “Physically, she’s fine,” Kevin explains, “But emotionally, she is scared out of her mind. She has no idea who she was, and I know she just feels lost.” “I know what that’s like,” Nick confesses, “I was just telling your brother, when the Newman Jet crashed, I had amnesia, and I didn’t remember my life with Phyllis for months. And I had to fall in love with my wife, and learn what a beautiful, amazing woman she is all over again. But then my memory came back, and I remembered how much I loved her before the accident too. And you know what? I loved her even more than I did before because of what we had to overcome to keep our marriage alive. Our relationship and our love grew even stronger because she stuck with me through it all.” “Nick’s right,” Michael adds, “You have to keep believing that this is only temporary, and that you and Jana will make it out alive.” “Yeah,” Kevin says, still sounding a little unconvinced, “Jana, she just needs a little more time.”

Scene 20

Ryder and Abby continue their tour of the grounds of The Ranch. “And the Tack House is where Nick and Phyllis live?” Ryder inquires. “Yeah,” Abby confirms, “How did you know that?” “I have to confess something,” Ryder begins, “I gave myself a bit of an unguided tour of the grounds when I got here. That’s okay, right?” “Oh yeah, that’s no problem,” Abby replies, “Well come on, I guess if you’ve already seen the grounds, I’ll give you a tour of the Main House.”

Scene 21

At the Newman Pool, Daniel, Fen, Summer, Kevin, and Scott continue playing with super soakers and water balloons.

Meanwhile, Jeffrey Bardwell joins Gloria Bardwell at the refreshment table. Gloria pours a glass of lemonade. She has a smirk on her face. “Alright, spill it…,” Jeffrey orders, “and not the drink…” Gloria is amused. “Spill what, Honeydew?” she teases. “You know what I’m talking about,” Jeffrey says, “I can see the wheels turning in that diabolical little mind of yours. Now tell me what you’re up to.” “I’m not up to anything,” Gloria denies, “I’m just enjoying the beautiful summer breeze, the warm water, and the hot sun.” A water balloon flies past Gloria as Fen and Kevin run around her and Jeffrey. “Hey! Watch where you’re throwing them things!” she calls out. She turns back to Jeffrey. “You deny it all you want, Buttercup,” Jeffrey says, “But I’ll be watching you…”

“Woah, head’s up!” Daniel calls from across the pool as another water balloon comes zooming towards Kevin, Fen, Gloria, and Jeffrey. “What?” Gloria calls as she turns around to look. The water balloon slams into her chest, bursting and splashing water all over her. Gloria lets out a scream! Several of the spectators giggle, including Jeffrey.

Kevin unsuccessfully tries to contain his laughter. “Mom!” He says with a laugh, “Are you okay?” “Don’t you start too,” Gloria warns Kevin as she wipes her face, “It’s not funny.” “Come on, mom,” Kevin insists, “It was a little funny.”

Daniel runs over to Gloria, whose makeup now looks like a mess. “Gloria, I am so sorry,” he apologizes, keeping a straight face. Gloria keeps her composure. “It’s okay, Daniel,” she says calmly, “Accidents happen. Just like this one…” Gloria grabs Fen’s super soaker off the table and squirts both Kevin and Daniel.

Scene 22

Nikki finally arrives at the Newman Pool in the early evening. It’s already getting dark. “Hello, hello,” she greets her son Nick and his wife Phyllis. “Hi mom,” Nick says as he gives her a quick kiss on the cheek, “I was wondering when you’d get here.” “Katherine and I had a lot of catching up to do,” Nikki responds. She looks around at all the guests, some in the pool, some still playing with super soakers, others talking under the umbrella or at the snack/refreshment table. “It has truly been forever since we’ve done this,” she realizes, “Seeing all these people here, it reminds me how much fun we used to have here… it’s too bad your father and Victoria couldn’t make it.” “Next time,” Nick says. “Yeah, I think we should do this again soon,” Nikki agrees, “Well, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go mingle.” “Okay, bye,” Phyllis says with a smile.

Nick and Phyllis take a few steps over to the picnic table. Phyllis takes a seat in Nick’s lap. “Listen, why don’t we ask your mom if she can take Summer for the night,” Phyllis suggests, “and we can have a nice quiet evening together at home?” Nick grins. “I like the way you think,” he replies, giving her a quick kiss.

Phyllis’ cell phone, which is setting on the picnic table, begins to ring. She picks up: “Hello…” Like the phone call she received earlier that morning, there is no answer. “Hello?” Phyllis says again. The person on the other end hangs up. Phyllis hangs up too, a look of confusion and uneasiness on her face. “What is it?” Nick asks. “That’s strange,” she says softly, “That’s the second time that’s happened today…”

Scene 23

Gloria rejoins Jeffrey after her impromptu super soaker battle with Kevin and Daniel. “You look like a drowned rat,” Jeffrey jokes. “It’s a good look for you.” “Shut up, Jeffrey,” Gloria says harshly, not in the mood for his humor, “You, you could have tried to deflect it, or something.” Jeffrey smirks. “At least you had some cushioning to soften the blow,” he continues with a laugh, “Maybe the welt won’t be so bad. And maybe this was a sign for you, to tell me what you’re planning. Don’t keep me out of the loop, Sweetcakes, cause I’ll find out one way or the other.” Gloria abruptly pushes Jeffrey, and he falls backwards into the swimming pool. This time, Gloria is the one who laughs. “Now who’s the drowned rat, Lover Man?” she teases.

Scene 24

Abby continues to give Ryder a tour of the Main House. They stop to talk in the hallway. “You’re lucky you had me here, ‘cause there’s some parts of the Ranch that you wouldn’t have been able to see without me…,” she points out before suggesting, “That’s my room there. Why don’t we go inside?” “Your dad wouldn’t like that,” Ryder states, trying to think logically, “He gave me a look earlier. I’m sure he doesn’t want you around me.” Abby ignores him. “I’m sure he wouldn’t want me to kiss you either,” she states. Before Ryder can reply, she kisses him on the lips unexpectedly. He pulls away. “Did I do something wrong?” a confused Abby asks. Ryder tries to turn her down politely. “Look, Abby. We can’t do this,” he begins, “I mean, I just told you, people have been staring at us all day and I don’t want them, or you to get the wrong idea.” “What do you mean?” Abby asks, still oblivious. “I like you, but only as a friend, okay?” Ryder tells her, “I hung out with you today cause you’re the only person I really know here, but you’re underage.” “It’s not like I’m a little girl – I’m 17,” Abby protests, “I’ll be 18 in a few months.” Ryder doesn’t care. “Abby, you’ve been flirting with me all afternoon,” he states, “I’m flattered that you’re interested, really I am, but you’re still too young for me. Now, if you still wanna be friends, we can be friends, but you have to understand that’s as far as it goes.” “Yes, of course I want to be friends,” Abby replies, “You’re the only one who understands me, remember? I don’t want to lose that.” Ryder nods. “Okay, see you around then?” he says as he starts to walk away. “Yeah… see you around…,” Abby replies, with an obvious disappointed look on her face. Noah and Eden, peaking around the wall into the hallway, witness the exchange.

Scene 25

Back at the Fishers’ Apartment, Jana holds a framed wedding picture taken at the ashram. Kevin notices Jana staring at the picture. “Are you remembering something?” he asks. “No, sorry,” Jana replies, “I was just admiring the scenery… Looks like an absolutely magical place.” “It was,” Kevin agrees, “…because you were there.” Jana continues to stare at the picture. She finally speaks: “I did love you very much… I can tell from the picture,” she admits, “And I know I said I wanted to take it slow, and not overdo it, but everyone tells me we had this incredible love story. We overcame so many odds to get where we’re at, and I can see how much it’s killing you that I don’t remember that.” “I know it’s not your fault,” Kevin assures his wife, “I know that you’re not trying to hurt me. I know that you didn’t ask for any of this.” “No, I didn’t,” Jana agrees, “But I also know that I haven’t been trying hard enough to remember.” “You’ve just been overwhelmed,” Kevin tries to be understanding and supportive, “being in an unfamiliar place with all these unfamiliar people, myself included, crowding around you.” “But this isn’t an unfamiliar place, or it shouldn’t be,” Jana realizes, “This was – this is, our home. And I want to remember that.” “You don’t know how much that means to me…,” Kevin says, with tears welling up in his eyes. “Can I give you a hug?” “Yes,” Jana replies, smiling for maybe the first time.

Scene 26

That night, Nick and Phyllis are kissing passionately in their bedroom doorway. Their bedroom light is off. They continue kissing as they move towards the bed. Phyllis stops for a moment and sniffs the air. “Do you smell that?” she asks Nick, having detected a slightly rancid smell. “Chlorine?” Nick asks, unsure of what she means. “No… it’s something else,” Phyllis replies. Nick kisses her again, and Phyllis grabs the comforter and pulls it down so they can get into bed. Phyllis falls backwards onto the bed, still oblivious to what is about to come. Nick turns on the lamp on the nightstand. Phyllis turns her head, and then she sees it: lying right in the middle of the bed is a large, slimy black eel. Dead. Phyllis screams.

Next Time on The Young and The Restless

Malcolm Winters runs into his brother Neil Winters at the Coffee House. “Malcolm, I don’t have time for you right now,” Neil tells him, “See, unlike you, I actually have a career and I have commitments that I keep.” “Wow, why don’t you tell me how you really feel?” Malcolm says bitterly.

In the Newman Enterprises break room, Phyllis Newman tells Michael Baldwin about the dead eel in her bed. “Ryder – he was at the pool party,” she realizes.

JT Hellstrom and Victoria Newman are meeting with a blonde woman. “My name is Roseanne Ryerson, and I’m the Guardian Ad Litem assigned to your case,” she announces.

NEW EPISODE: TUESDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2010

Saturday, September 25, 2010

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT FUTURE SCHEDULE

Hello readers,
As some of you may be aware, there will NOT be any new episodes next week (September 28th and 30th). The week will be used as catch-up time so that I can work on the last episodes of the "summer" storylines, so please also use that time to catch up on the first 30 episodes if you can.

The schedule in October will go as follows:

Tuesday, October 5th: Episode 31
Thursday, October 7th: Episode 32

Tuesday, October 12th: NO NEW EPISODE
Thursday, October 14th: NO NEW EPISODE

Tuesday, October 19th: Episode 33
Thursday, October 21st: Episode 34

***Saturday, October 23rd: Episode 35 (The "summer finale" -- will attempt to resolve some of the summer storylines so that new ones can begin for fall/winter).

Fall/Winter Season will begin sometime in November. There will only be a few episodes in November, and then I hope to resume with some regularity in December. The reason I have to do this is because from mid-October to mid-November, my schedule changes and I won't really have access to a computer or be able to write on weekdays.

What I will probably do is, like the real show, post some "classic episodes" on those Tuesdays and Thursdays when no new episodes are being posted. They will be meant as refreshers of earlier events in the storylines that will be focused on in the last few episodes.

What I would also like to do, at some point after Episode 35, is have a "Daytime Emmy Awards" questionnaire, which would have about 10 questions -- things like 'Favorite New Character', 'Favorite Couple,' etc. in order to pass the time until the November episodes come out.

I apologize for the erratic schedule next month, and I promise I will still be continuing with the story. I just need to take a bit of a break here as I have another commitment right now that needs to take priority. But I'll still check in, and post new promo images and videos and such when I can just to keep the story going in all the places I've been posting it.

Thank you to everyone who has been reading over the past four months. Thank you also to those who have let me know some of their thoughts -- it really has helped me. I appreciate all of the support I have been given and I am glad the response to the first 30 episodes has been incredibly positive.

Scene 1

It’s almost midnight in Genoa City. In Kevin and Jana Fisher’s Apartment, Scott Grainger, Jr. sits on the couch, reading a novel. He’s wearing a muscle shirt and boxer shorts. Jana Hawkes Fisher comes out of her bedroom wearing a nightgown. Scott puts the book down. “I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to disturb you,” Jana apologizes. “Oh no, that’s okay,” Scott tells her, “Did I wake you when I came out here? I was just looking for a peaceful place to read…” “No, I was already up,” Jana answers. She moves closer to him, standing by the couch, and looking down at him. “What are you reading?” she asks. Scott holds up the book for her: a new John Grisham novel called The Confession. “Some very interesting stuff,” he says. “I’m sure it is,” Jana replies, noticing the thickness of the book, “Looks intense…” “Yeah, it’s pretty exciting, actually,” Scott tells her. “You want some company?” Jana inquires. Scott puts the book down again. “I would actually love some company,” he responds, “I could use a little break.” Jana takes a seat beside him on the couch.

Scene 2

Billy Abbott sits in his car, which is parked outside of the front gates of the Abbott Manor. The sounds of Kyle Abbott’s pool party can be heard in the background.

Billy flashes back to his earlier [previously unseen] confrontation with his nephew Kyle Abbott, when he had crashed the party. Kyle had been lounging on a floating chair in the middle of the pool when Billy had arrived and told everyone the party was over. Kyle had jumped off the chair into the water, swum over to the edge of the pool, and then got out of the water to face off with Billy. “Leave now,” he had ordered, before turning to all his guests, “Nobody move. You’re not going anywhere.”

Billy takes Kyle off to the side to talk to him, but Kyle ends up doing the talking: “Did you forget about our deal, Uncle Billy?” Kyle says in a threatening manner, “Let me remind you, and actually, let me revise it a bit: The whole town is gonna find out about you and Victoria unless three conditions are met: first, you’re gonna leave right now and forget you ever came here; second, you’re gonna bring a few cases of beer by tomorrow to replace what we’re responsibly consuming right now, and three, some kid’s been taking pictures all day. I want you to publish them on Restless Style’s Web site.” “Well, listen to you, big man,” Billy replies, “Telling me how it’s gonna be. I don’t think so, nephew. This party’s over if I have to drag every one of these kids out of here myself.” “Try it, and I’ll call The Chronicle right now,” Kyle threatens, “I think they’d love to hear all about Genoa City’s own Romeo and Juliet… so I’m the one holding all the cards here.” Billy realizes that Kyle’s serious. “Look, Kyle. I really can’t let you do that,” Billy says. “Well, you know my conditions, so take ‘em or leave ‘em,” Kyle replies. Billy yelps in frustration. “Gah! Jack’s gonna kill me!” he shouts, “Okay, listen – you promise me you guys aren’t gonna get any rowdier than this?” Billy asks. “We’re just tryin’ to have a good time,” Kyle answers, “Not get ourselves arrested.” “Yeah, well, then I’ll accept your conditions if you accept two of mine,” Billy bargains. Kyle nods. “One: you don’t tell anyone what you know about me and Victoria… or Heather, for that matter,” Billy explains, “and two, I’m taking all the alcohol with me. If you’re not trying to get arrested, then you shouldn’t be drinking.” “Fine,” Kyle agrees, “Just as long as you get out of here and don’t come back.”

Scene 3

Meanwhile, at the Abbott Manor, Kyle and Ricky Williams’ pool party is still going strong since Billy allowed it to continue. From across the pool, Abby Carlton is still keeping an eye on Ricky. At the same time, Walnut Grove students Lucas Taylor and “Sully” are socializing with Kyle.

“You missed my photoshoot,” Kyle tells Sully. “I would have loved to watch, but my mom was being a b****,” Sully answers, “as usual.” “Yeah, parents excel at doing that,” Kyle replies, “So anyways… bring me your copy of the magazine and I can autograph it for you.” “You’ve already given me a lot to remember you by,” Sully replies suggestively, referring to the fact that they slept together. Lucas picks up on her hint.

“Oh, so you two are an item now?” he asks, a hint of jealousy in his voice. “No, we’re not ‘an item,’ Lucas,” Sully answers, “but even if we were, it’s none of your business.” “So I guess that means you two were together, huh?” Kyle asks. “Not anymore,” Lucas answers, “We were a long time ago.” “Yeah, he’s still possessive of me though,” Sully adds, “He doesn’t like me being with other guys… now that he realizes what he’s missing.” “Actually, you’re the one that’s missing out, Honey!” Lucas replies. “Don’t ever call me that again, jerk!” Sully fires back. She walks away.

“Stay away from that one,” Lucas warns Kyle. “A little late for that,” Kyle responds, “I think I’ll take my chances.” “That’s what I said too,” Lucas continues, “Until I started finding out about all her baggage.”

Scene 4

Ashley Abbott is sleeping in her bedroom at the former Carlton Mansion. She’s tossing and turning in her sleep.

Ashley dreams of a date that she had with Tom Fisher many years ago. She and Tom are having a picnic. Suddenly, Tom’s face turns into his son, Ryder Callahan’s, and Ashley’s own face turns into her daughter Abby Carlton’s. Ashley wakes up, springing up out of bed. She’s panting heavily and frightened out of her mind.

Scene 5

At the Main House on the Newman Ranch, Noah Newman and his girlfriend Eden Gerick enter Noah’s bedroom. “Thanks for helping clean everything up,” Noah tells his girlfriend, “You didn’t have to stay.” “I like spending time with you,” Eden replies, “whether we’re exploring cemeteries in France, or swimming in your pool, or packing food away in your freezer.” “Still, we haven’t really done anything fun together lately,” Noah realizes. “Well, maybe you can make up for that now,” Eden suggests as she wraps her arms around him and kisses him. They lay down on Noah’s bed, with Eden on top of Noah. “Just watch my arms,” Noah tells Eden, speaking of the scars he still has from the time that Kyle Abbott pushed him through a window. They continue kissing.

“Ahem,” Sharon Newman clears her throat to alert Noah and Eden to her presence. Noah’s step-brother Daniel Romalotti, Jr. is with her. Noah and Eden get up off the bed. “Mom, geez, do you not know how to knock?” Noah asks, embarrassed. “Your door was wide open,” Sharon answers, “That’s the way it should be.” “I better go,” Eden says, “It’s getting late.” “Nick’ll drive you home,” Sharon offers. “Oh, that’s okay,” Eden politely declines, “I’ll just call a cab.” “Are you sure?” Sharon asks, “Because it’s no trouble, and Michael and Lauren would probably rather we take you home.” “I appreciate it, but you don’t have to do that,” Eden insists. She gives Noah another kiss. “I’ll call you tomorrow,” Noah tells her before she leaves.

“Hey, Noah… buddy. Why don’t we play some video games?” Daniel suggests, “That is… if it’s okay with your mom.” “That’s fine, but not for too long, okay?” Sharon tells them. “Sure,” Noah replies.

Scene 6

Scott and Jana continue to keep each other company. “You look tired,” Jana observes. “Well, I haven’t been able to fall asleep,” Scott tells her, “That’s why I’m out here trying to read.” “It’s the bed, isn’t it?” Jana asks knowingly. “Yeah,” Scott admits, “How did you know?” “Kevin said the same thing about it,” Jana confesses, “We’ve been meaning to replace the mattress forever. I’m sorry. We should have done that before we invited you.” “No, it’s fine,” Scott assures her, “I don’t wanna be an inconvenience… I was thinking I’d just crash on the couch for tonight, though. “Oh, well, you’ve got barely enough room to move around,” Jana realizes, “What if you roll off and hit your head on the coffee table, or something?” “I’ll move it for tonight,” Scott replies, “Then you don’t have to worry.” “But you’re my guest. And the least I can get you is a proper bed… How ‘bout a compromise? We could alternate nights,” Jana suggests, “You sleep here tonight. Tomorrow, I’ll sleep here and you take my bed.” “Thanks, but there’s really no need,” Scott insists, “I don’t mind the couch, really… and I’m not gonna displace you so that I can have a bed.” “There is one other alternative,” Jana informs him. “What’s that?” Scott inquires. “Why don’t you sleep with me tonight?” Jana suggests.

Scene 7

Sharon and Daniel are both walking downstairs to the living room of the Main House. “Once again, you come through for my son,” Sharon tells Daniel, who just finished playing video games with Noah. “I think I needed the distraction more than he did,” Daniel comments. Sharon stops Daniel in the living room for a moment. “Daniel, I hate to see something bothering you this much,” she says, “You are always there for Noah; let me help you now.” Daniel remains silent. “You said it was more than just what’s going on between your mom and Nick,” Sharon prompts him to confide in her. “Yeah, it actually has to do with my father,” Daniel admits. “Danny’s back in town?” Sharon asks. “No, not Danny,” Daniel corrects her, “My real father. My biological father… a guy named Brian Hamilton.”

Scene 8

Ashley, disturbed from her nightmare involving herself, Tom Fisher, Abby, and Ryder, has gone downstairs to get a drink of water. Still thinking about Tom, she flashes back to the night when her father, John Abbott, shot him in an alleyway.

“What the hell are you doing here?” Tom had asked when John showed up to the alley. “You hurt my family for the last time, Fisher,” John had warned. “Drop the tough guy act,” Tom had replied. “Stay back. I'm warning you,” John had said as he revealed a handgun. “I didn't kill Lauren. Now if you just let me prove...,” Tom had begun to speak, but he was cut off by John. “Don't take another step,” John had ordered, “Don’t.” “You don't wanna kill me,” Tom had pleaded, “Now give me the gun!” When he stepped forward again, John and Tom had struggled, and a gunshot was fired. Tom had fallen to the ground. Ashley had witnessed the entire thing.

“Why is this happening to me?” Ashley shouts aloud, “Is this some kind of a sign? Is Abby with Ryder right now?”

Scene 9

Abby sees Ricky sitting by the pool. She sees a guy walking around taking pictures, and approaches him to make a request. Subtly pointing at Ricky, she asks, “Hey… do you think you can come snap some pictures of us in a few minutes?” “Sure,” the photographer agrees. “Thanks,” Abby replies with a smile. Then she heads over to join Ricky.

Abby takes a seat beside him at the edge of the pool. “Nice abs,” Abby compliments him in a flirtatious way. Ricky looks over at her, and recognizes her immediately. “Hey – thanks,” he replies, “So we finally meet in person.” “Yeah, I’m officially off the hook,” Abby informs him, “No longer exiled to my bedroom, and I’m so glad. Because that night that I saw you on Kyle’s webcam, I knew there was something about you that I liked.”

Abby sees the photographer approaching. Ricky does not. “Make out with me,” she suddenly tells Ricky, and she pulls him close to her, kissing him passionately on the lips. Ricky stops her after a few moments. “Whoa, are you sure about this?” he double-checks. “Absolutely,” Abby replies and she kisses him again.

Scene 10

In the living room of the Main House, Sharon and Daniel sit on the couch together. “I remember telling Cassie that her biological father had died,” Sharon recalls, “That she would never get the chance to know him…” “But I had a father,” Daniel insists, speaking of Danny Romalotti, Sr. “So did Cassie,” Sharon replies, “She called Nick ‘dad.’ But there’s also certain physical features and personality traits that come biologically, from your parents. And maybe you’d find something in common, that only the two of you share…” “I really don’t care,” Daniel tells Sharon, “If I didn’t know who he was before, why would I suddenly care about him now?” “I’m just saying, I don’t think you should rule it out,” Sharon repeats, “Maybe in the future, you’d wonder about him and regret that you didn’t get some answers to your questions while you had the chance.” “Do you think so?” Daniel asks, realizing that she makes a good point. “I do,” Sharon answers, “I never knew my father. Sometimes, I wonder how my life would have been different if I had grown up with him in my life. So, yeah, I think you should at least talk to him and hear what he has to say. I know… if I knew who my father was, I’d want to meet him and find out his story.”

Scene 11

Billy and Heather Stevens are talking at the Coffee House. Billy called Heather there. “Look, the reason that I convinced you to back off from Kyle and Ricky is because Kyle knows something that he’s holding over me,” Billy admits, “and if we continued to interfere with them, like Jack and Paul wanted us to do, he was gonna reveal it and I couldn’t let that happen.” “So you’re being blackmailed by your 17 year-old nephew?” Heather asks. “I wouldn’t call it blackmail,” Billy answers, “Let’s just say, he’s strongly encouraging me to cooperate with him.”

“I found out why they didn’t want us around,” Billy announces, “They’re having a pool party at Jack’s right now.” “Okay, so what? We’re just talking about a small gathering of friends, right?” Heather clarifies. “No. We’re talking probably the entire senior class and then some,” Billy tells her, “I already went over there and there was drinking too.” “Well, you stopped it, right?” Heather questions, concerned. “I took the booze away, but Kyle, he wouldn’t let me break up the party,” Billy answers. “It’s not up to Kyle. You’re the adult, Billy,” Heather reminds him, “No, we’re the adults. And I can’t believe I just let Ricky on the loose all day today without checking on him.” “But if we go back to the party…,” Billy protests. “Billy, forget about the consequences,” Heather shouts, “Jack put you in charge of watching Kyle. You have to do the right thing. Now, let’s go break up this party…”

Scene 12

At the Abbott Pool, Kyle and Lucas are both chugging down beer while the crowd watches. They both finish at the same time and high-five each other. “Good thing Billy missed a case,” Kyle laughs.

Sully approaches Ricky, who’s standing up against the wall of the Pool House. He can tell that she’s checking him out. “Um, aren’t you supposed to be with Kyle?” Ricky asks her. “We were never exclusive,” Sully says, “More like friends with benefits.” “Uh huh,” Ricky nods, not sure what else to say. “I saw you with Abby earlier,” Sully counters. “We’re not exclusive either,” Ricky gives her the same line back. “But you kind of like her? Maybe?” Sully wants to know. “I dunno,” Ricky shrugs his shoulders, “We’re just hangin’ out, I guess.” He’s shy around her and definitely a little uncomfortable. “Well, if you ever want the benefit of hanging out with me, we should get together some time,” Sully suggests. “Yeah, sure,” Ricky replies in a non-committal kind of way. She walks away.

Kyle joins Ricky. “Dude, you got girls swarmin’ you like crazy,” he observes. “Yeah, I’m not used to this, bro,” Ricky admits, “I don’t know what to do…” “Take advantage of it, Amigo,” Kyle encourages him, “I saw you with Sully. The whole house is empty. Take her upstairs to one of the spare rooms.” “But weren’t you two [you and Sully] already together?” Ricky tries to make excuses. “We sure were,” Kyle brags, “and I remember every single detail. Because I recorded it in my ‘bang-book.’” Ricky raises an eyebrow. “Your what?” he asks. “I’ve got a notebook in the pool house, where I keep track of every girl I’ve ever been with,” Kyle admits. “Are you serious?” Ricky clarifies. “Yeah, I like to know where I’ve been,” Kyle tells Ricky.

Sully approaches them again, this time to offer a warning: “You two better be careful,” she tells Kyle, “I know Lucas is acting all cool with you, but he doesn’t do too well when he feels threatened…” Kyle brushes it off. “Thanks, babe, but I can handle him no problem,” he replies confidently…

Scene 13

Sharon and Daniel continue to discuss Daniel’s biological father, Brian Hamilton. “Maybe I’m just afraid to hear what he has to say,” Daniel confesses, “I mean, what really gets me is that Brian, my father, said that he wasn’t ready to be a dad. What if I have the same commitment issues because of him?” “No… a lot of young men have difficulties with new responsibilities once they get married and start a family,” Sharon explains, “I mean, look at Nick. You know, Noah was unplanned…” “No, I didn’t know that,” Daniel replies. “Yeah, we were both so young, had just gotten married, and definitely weren’t looking to have a child at the time,” Sharon adds, “but sometimes, things just happen. And then you have to decide how you’re gonna handle it. You know, Nick was hesitant about adopting Cassie at first too. He didn’t think he could love another man’s child as much as his own, but he loved Cassie just as much as Noah.” “Tell me about it,” Daniel says knowingly. After all, Nick had treated him horribly when he thought that Daniel was responsible for Cassie’s death…

Scene 14

Eden arrives at Kyle’s pool party and immediately finds Kyle, intent on telling him off for his behavior against Noah. “Well, look who decided to show her face,” Kyle says, noticing Eden is fully dressed, “Too bad that’s all you’re showing… Are you here for an autograph?” Eden grimaces. “Ew, I don’t want anything from you,” she replies, “except to know why you insist on being such a jerk to Noah.” “What did I do to Noah now?” Kyle asks cluelessly. “You told everyone our party was cancelled and then invited them here,” Eden says in an upset tone. “We couldn’t both have parties on the same night,” Kyle replies nonchalantly. “You only planned your party after you heard about Noah’s,” Eden accuses Kyle. “So…,” Kyle admits it, “What’s your point?” “My point is that you are the most selfish, self-absorbed, self-centred, pig-headed bastard I’ve ever met in my life,” Eden insults Kyle. Kyle laughs. “And you came all this way just to tell me that?” he asks. “No, I’m not finished yet,” Eden says, “I came to tell you that I find you disgusting and I hope I never see you again!”

Kyle smirks. “And yet, you still want a piece of me,” he says knowingly. “What?” Eden asks. “You want my body,” Kyle tells her. “Ew, I do not,” Eden denies it. “Yes, you do. There is some serious sexual tension between us. Don’t tell me you haven’t felt it. I know you don’t like me, but there’s a part of you that wants something different from your wimpy boyfriend, and finds me very, very attractive.” Eden says nothing, but inside, she realizes it’s true. There is something about him that makes him different from Noah, and that she actually likes.

Scene 15

Scott reacts to Jana’s suggestion for him to ‘sleep with her.’ “What?” he responds. Jana starts laughing. “Okay, I didn’t mean it like that, Silly,” she replies, “We have a king-size bed. A very comfy one, at that. There’s plenty of room. You take one side, I take the other. We both get a good night’s sleep and no one will be any wiser.” Scott isn’t sure what to say. “Come on. It’ll be completely harmless,” Jana pressures him, “I promise, I don’t bite.” “Alright. Okay!” Scott gives in, “But just for tonight. Or until you can change the mattress.” “I’ll get on it first thing tomorrow,” Jana assures him.

Scene 16

Back at the Main House, Sharon realizes that her last comment to Daniel was unintentionally insensitive. “I’m sorry, Daniel,” she apologizes, “I shouldn’t have been talking about being able to love a child that isn’t your own.” This is, of course, part of the reason why Daniel and his wife Amber Moore ended their marriage – Amber wanted Daniel to help raise her cousin’s son, but Daniel wasn’t ready to be a father.

“You know what? It’s fine,” Daniel tells her, “You don’t have to apologize. I know that some people, like Nick… and like Danny, are able to accept someone else’s child as their own, but I just am not ready to be raising a kid, and I’m not gonna apologize for that either.” “Of course not,” Sharon says in an understanding manner. “I mean, is it so wrong to just want to enjoy being young?” Daniel asks, “There’s still a lotta things I want to do before I have to settle down again.” “And there’s nothing wrong with that at all,” Sharon tells him, “You need that time for self-discovery, I think. I mean, I was a teenage mother. And then I married Nick, had Noah. After ten years with Nick, I went from his wife to Jack’s wife, and then to Adam’s wife. I had Faith. So I’ve never been on my own. I’ve always been somebody’s wife or mother. Now, I’m not saying I regret that… I will never regret having any of my children, but in hindsight, I can relate to you, Daniel… because there’s a lot that I never got to experience… that I want to be able to do too…”

Scene 17

Ashley arrives at the Main House and rings the front door bell. Sharon answers the door. “Ashley, hi,” Sharon says, “Please come in.” “Thanks,” Ashley replies as she and Sharon head into the living room, where Daniel is still sitting on the coach. “Hi Daniel,” Ashley greets him, “Is the party over?” “The party never happened,” Daniel replies. “Long story,” Sharon adds, “but the kids heard that it was cancelled when that wasn’t the case.”

Noah comes downstairs. “Who’s at the door?” he calls out as he comes into the living room. He sees that it’s Ashley. “Oh, hey, Ashley,” he says. “Hi, Noah. Sorry to hear about your party,” Ashley tells him, “I know it’s late, but I just came here to see Abby.” “She isn’t here,” Noah informs Ashley. “Well, then, where is she?” Ashley asks. “She’s at a party, alright,” Noah reveals. “When she told me she was at a pool party, I thought she meant yours,” Ashley tells him. “Your nephew’s,” Noah informs her. “Kyle,” Ashley says aloud, realizing that Jack is away and Kyle is throwing this party without permission.

Scene 18

Kyle and Eden go inside the Pool House. Kyle shuts the door and they continue to argue. “You are selfish and delusional,” Eden adds to her previous insult. “I’ve never denied being selfish. There’s nothing wrong with going after what you want,” Kyle tells Eden, “But the delusional one here is you if you’ve actually convinced yourself that goody two-shoes Noah is the kind of guy that you want.” “Why do you say it like that?” Eden asks. “Because, come on… no girl seriously wants to be stuck with a guy like that,” Kyle tries to convince her, “You want someone who’s tough, and strong, and knows how to have a good time… I’m a bad boy, and girls love that about me.” “Not me,” Eden maintains. “Every time you deny it, you make yourself more and more obvious,” Kyle tells her. “I’m not denying anything,” Eden shouts, “I am being fully honest about how I feel about you. And I hate you. I really do.”

“But you still want me,” Kyle instigates some more. “No, I don’t,” Eden maintains. “Yes, you do,” Kyle insists, stepping a little closer to Eden. “No, I don’t!” Eden gets louder this time. “Yes, you do,” Kyle says again, inching closer to her again, this time getting right up in her face. “Yes… I do,” Eden admits softly and she leans in now to kiss him.

Scene 19

In the Abbott Pool House, Kyle and Eden continue to kiss, and Kyle reaches to pull off her top. Eden hesitates. “Here? Right now, with everybody outside?” she asks. “Lock the door,” Kyle replies nonchalantly, “They’ll get the message.” Eden thinks aloud: “Did anyone see me come in here?” she tries to recall. “Who cares?” Kyle says.

Eden locks the door and rejoins Kyle by the bed. “That’s a good girl,” Kyle says. Eden pushes Kyle down onto the foot of the bed and starts kissing him again. She then stops to pull off her top, leaving Kyle mesmerized for a few moments…

Scene 20

Meanwhile. Ashley and Billy and Heather arrive at the Abbott Manor at the same time. The loud sounds of teenage partying can be heard even at the front of the house. “Ash, what are you doing here?” Billy asks, surprised. “Same thing you’re doing here,” Ashley replies, “Let’s go around back.” Ashley, Billy, and Heather rush out to the pool.

Scene 21

Scott comes into Jana’s bedroom holding a pair of track pants. He puts them on. “You know, most people usually get undressed to go to sleep,” Jana jokes. “Well, I normally sleep in just my boxers, but I don’t want to make you uncomfortable.” Scott tells her. Jana laughs it off. “Oh, I’m no prude,” she says, “I told you, I want you to be comfortable, so you feel free to sleep in as much… or as little as you want.” “Alright,” Scott agrees as he proceeds to undress himself in front of Jana, who takes a few opportunities to peak.

“So which side do you normally sleep on?” Scott asks Jana. Jana ponders the question. “You know, I don’t remember,” she realizes, “I’ve had the bed to myself, so I’ve just been taking the middle.” “Well, I’ll just this side, then,” Scott decides, referring to the side closest to the door, “Is that cool?” “That’s fine,” Jana agrees. They each get into the bed. “You were right. This bed is a lot more comfortable,” Scott states. “I tell you, once you get in, you never want to leave…,” Jana comments, “Um, if you could just get that lamp there…” “Sure,” Scott says as he reaches over and turns off the lamp, leaving them both in the dark. “Good night,” he tells Jana as he rolls over as far to his side of the bed as possible. “Good night, Scotty,” Jana says, and Scott doesn’t correct her.

Scene 22

Noah sits at his computer. He’s on the Restless Style Web site, which has a poll about which of Kyle or Noah is the ‘hottest.’ Noah checks the results and sees that Kyle is in the lead by a significant margin. Noah clicks himself and then hits ‘vote’. He then goes back and votes for himself repeatedly…
Scene 23

Back at the Abbott Pool Party, Ricky had been thinking about Kyle’s advice. He’s been watching Sully from afar and decides to go talk to her. Abby intercepts him. “Hey, there you are,” she says, “Looking for me?” She pulls Ricky into another kiss, and this time, he doesn’t resist.

Ashley and Heather make their way out to the pool and witness Abby and Ricky kissing.

Scene 24

As a number of party guests bang loudly on the locked door of the Pool House and music blares loudly, Kyle and Eden are in bed together, kissing… As the knocking gets even louder, they pull the covers over them so that they’re completely hidden under the blankets… Now, Billy starts wrapping on the door. “Kyle, are you in there?” he shouts, “Kyle, open the door now! Don’t make me get the key!”

Episode 29 – Tuesday, September 21, 2010

Scene 1

It’s late morning in Genoa City. Scott Grainger, Jr. arrives at Kevin and Jana Fisher’s Apartment. He knocks on the door and Jana Hawkes Fisher answers the door. Her husband is away for a business conference. Before Jana can speak, Scott holds up a magazine. “Here it is,” he proudly announces, “My first issue of Restless Style.”

Scene 2

At the Main House of the Newman Ranch, Sharon Newman has a copy of the new issue of Restless Style and is reading excerpts to her former husband, Nicholas Newman, who is also staying at the Main House. “Listen to this part: The 17 year-old Abbott heir declared himself the new king of Genoa City…,” Sharon reads about Kyle Abbott, “saying the Newmans’ reign is over.” Nick smirks. “I didn’t know we had a ‘reign,’” he comments. “Apparently, you don’t anymore,” Sharon replies jokingly, “You know, it would almost be funny if Kyle hadn’t said what he did about Noah.” “What did he say?” Nick asks, “What other BS did that punk spew in his interview?”

Scene 3

Upstairs, in Abby Carlton’s bedroom, Abby and her cousin Noah Newman are also reading the issue of Restless Style. “Noah Newman is a spoiled wimp who grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth and needs to learn how to toughen up,” Noah reads Kyle’s comment about himself aloud to Abby. Abby tries to withhold her opinion. “Well, what did you say about Kyle?” she inquires.

Scene 4

Meanwhile, at the Abbott Manor, Kyle Abbott is reading Noah’s comments about him to his friend Ricky Williams: “Kyle Abbott is an angry jerk who’s pissed off ‘cause I was more of a son to his father than he was.” “Ooh, that’s harsh,” Ricky comments. “Those are fightin’ words,” Kyle agrees, “Noah better watch out…”

Scene 5

Kyle and Ricky are now in the Abbott Pool House, and Kyle has realized that the fridge is stocked with beer. He grabs one, opens it, and takes a gulp. “Ah,” he sighs, “That’s some good stuff.” Kyle tosses a can to Ricky. “Help yourself,” he says. “Won’t your dad notice?” Ricky worries. “Not if we get someone at the party to replace them,” Kyle answers, a little annoyed, “So take it. It’s just one, man… It’s not like you’re gonna get bombed out of your mind.” “Just one,” Ricky repeats hesitantly. He opens up the can and takes a tiny sip, and reacts immediately to the taste of the beer. “What the hell is this stuff?” he says with a huge grimace on his face, “It tastes awful.” “But it makes you feel so good,” Kyle insists, “Loosens ya up a little… and after a couple more drinks, you won’t even taste it anymore.”

Scene 6

Victoria Newman stops by the Main House on the Newman Ranch. She has her son Reed Hellstrom and her niece Summer Newman with her. “Hey, there she is!” Nick exclaims upon seeing Summer, “I missed my Supergirl!” “Hi daddy!” Summer says as she greets her father with a big hug. “Hey Vick; Reed,” Nick greets his sister and nephew next, as he runs his hand through Reed’s hair. “Listen… we can’t stay,” Victoria informs Nick, “I have Roseanne coming to observe me with Reed.” She whispers the latter part to him. Nick nods. “Well, thanks for dropping Summer off here,” Nick says. “No problem,” Victoria replies, “How long do you think you’ll be staying here?” “As long as I need to,” Nick replies, looking at Summer the whole time.

As Victoria and Reed are about to leave the Ranch, Nick offers his encouragement: “Hey -- you’ll do great, Vick,” he tells her. Victoria smiles. “Things haven’t been going well so far for me,” she says, “I need this. Really badly.” “What’s going on, mommy?” Reed asks. “Well, when we get home, a guest will be visiting us, but you don’t have to worry about that at all,” Victoria answers as they walk into the foyer together, Victoria holding Reed’s hand, “You just pretend that it’s only the two of us, okay? Act like your normal self, and everything will be alright…”

Scene 7

Daniel Romalotti, Jr. is at Crimson Lights Coffee House, waiting in line for a coffee. The man ahead of him turns to leave and Daniel recognizes him. It’s Dr. Brian Hamilton. “Wait -- you’re my mom’s friend,” Daniel says. Brian looks over at him and realizes he’s standing in front of his son. “Oh, that’s right,” Brian recalls, “You’re Daniel.” “Yeah. Sorry you had to rush off last time,” Daniel replies, “You know, I didn’t even get your name.” “Brian Hamilton,” he answers. “And you knew my mom from New York?” Daniel clarifies. “Well, there’s a little bit more to it than that,” Brian begins, “Why don’t you sit down, Daniel?” Brian and Daniel take a seat at a nearby table. “I guess I should just come out with it,” Brian says. “Please do,” Daniel tells him. Brian seems a little nervous. “Alright… I don’t really know how to say this, other than just to tell you… that you’re my son…,” Brian reveals.

Scene 8

Nick and Sharon are bringing snacks out to a table beside the Newman Pool. “How many pool parties like this have we been to?” Sharon reminisces. “I’ve lost count,” Nick replies.

“You know, it’ll definitely take some getting used to… us living under the same roof again,” Sharon tells Nick, “It’s almost like…” “We’re a family again?” Nick infers. “No. I was gonna say, it’s almost like we’re college roommates, or something,” Sharon says, “but… we’re so much more than that.” “Yeah, we are,” Nick agrees.

Noah joins his parents outside by the pool. “You know, it’s not too late for you two to take off,” he tells them, half-jokingly. “No, I don’t think so,” Sharon replies, “The deal was that you had to have chaperones.” “I asked Daniel to come,” Noah informs his parents, “He can handle it.” “Sorry, bud,” Nick says, “We stay or there’s no party.” Noah pouts. “Okay, okay,” he gives in, “Just promise me that you won’t do anything to embarrass me. And that you’ll stay as far out of sight as possible…”

Scene 9

In the former caretakers’ house on the Newman Ranch, Victoria is doing some last-minute tidying up in the living room. As she readjusts the position of a cushion on the sofa, the doorbell rings, and Victoria knows that it’s Roseanne Ryerson, there to meet with Reed and evaluate Victoria’s parenting.

“As you know, the purpose of today’s visit is to formally assess Reed’s living situation, and make sure he’s being raised in a safe, healthy, and stimulating environment,” Roseanne explains. “I assure you, he is,” Victoria states. “Well, if you don’t mind, I’d like to start by interviewing your son,” Roseanne instructs, “Where is Reed?” “He’s up in his room,” Victoria answers, “I’ll go get him.” “Actually, that’s okay,” Roseanne says, “I prefer to conduct the interview in Reed’s room anyway.” “Well, I’ll go with you, then,” Victoria replies. “It’ll just be myself and Reed,” Roseanne clarifies. “Oh… well, in that case… go on up,” Victoria replies, trying to sound amenable.

“When I speak to Reed, I won’t be asking him where he wants to live,” Roseanne explains, “I’ll be learning about his interests, his likes/dislikes, his abilities, his communication skills… If at any point he does communicate his wishes to me, intentionally or unintentionally, I’m not obliged to base my recommendation on that. But determining this kind of information really helps to shed light on the family situation.” “I understand,” Victoria nods.

Scene 10

Paul Williams returns to Lena Griffin’s residence in Hicksville, New York. “You didn’t tell Jill, did you?” Lena immediately asks. “No,” Paul informs her, “But I’m here to strongly suggest that you tell her yourself. She deserves to know that you’re her birth mother…”

Scene 11

Eden Gerick arrives at the Newman Pool, eager to make an announcement to her boyfriend Noah. “Have you heard what Kyle did?” she asks frantically. “You mean, what he said in Restless Style?” Noah replies. ”No -- he told everyone our party’s cancelled,” Eden reveals, “and invited them over to his pool instead.” Noah is immediately furious. “So have you called them back?” he asks Eden. “Yes, but the thing is, Kyle’s promised them an unchaperoned party, so I don’t think it matters to most of them.” “Great,” Noah says sarcastically, “Just great… So first Kyle insults me in Restless Style, and now he’s gonna ruin my party too… I’m gonna kill him!”

Scene 12

Kyle and Ricky are now out at the Abbott Pool, setting up a snack table. Kyle’s father, Jack Abbott, calls from New York to check in. “Hey, Kyle,” Jack greets him, “What have you been up to?” “I’m just sitting here at Ricky’s… watching TV,” Kyle lies. “And Paul’s there with you, right?” Jack asks, already knowing the answer. “He’s havin’ a bath,” Kyle quickly responds, “Can you believe that guy? He said we have to be in bed by 11.” “His house, his rules,” Jack replies. “Yeah, he’s really keepin’ us in line,” Kyle lies again as he takes a swig of beer, “Look, I better go. I was just on my way to the Coffee House when you called.” He winks at Ricky as he says this. “Well, I’m glad to hear that. I’ll let you go then,” Jack tells his son, “You know I’ll be home the day after tomorrow, so you be good, okay?” “Always,” Kyle replies with a big smirk on his face. As Kyle hangs up the phone, he says aloud, “Oh, Jack… you are so clueless.”

Meanwhile, in New York, as Jack hangs up his phone, he’s also smirking. “Kyle, you better be going to the Coffee House. Or you’re in so much trouble when I get home…”

Scene 13

Abby is still in her bedroom at the Newman Ranch. She takes out her cell phone and calls Ryder Callahan, who is working at Crimson Lights Coffee House. “Hello,” Ryder answers the phone. “Hey! It’s your favorite teenager,” Abby says. “Abby… hi,” Ryder says, less than enthusiastically, “What can I do for you?” “Have you heard about the pool party at my cousin Kyle’s?” Abby inquires. “Yeah, that’s what all the kids here are talking about,” Ryder answers. “Well, I’m going there, so if you just happened to show up…,” Abby says with a smirk on her face. Ryder turns her down. “No, I can’t go there,” he replies. Abby is upset. “Why not?” she demands. “Because Kyle’s having a party today instead of showing up here to work,” Ryder explains, “which means, I’m stuck here… trying to cover for him, and with all the college kids being back, we’re fricken busy!”

Scene 14

Back at the Abbott Pool, Kyle gets another phone call. Ricky picks up his cell phone, checks who’s calling, and then hands the phone to Kyle. “Dude, it’s your mom,” Ricky tells him. “Damn. They really don’t trust us,” Kyle comments, “Can you believe that?” “What are you gonna tell her?” Ricky asks. “Same thing I just told Jack,” Kyle replies, “If I can handle him, I can handle her. Like I said, my parents are so clueless.” The phone keeps ringing. “Score: Kyle and Rick – 1, Parents – 0,” Kyle continues, and he and Ricky high-five each other. Kyle finally picks up the phone. “Hey mom,” he says as he prepares to lie to her too…

Scene 15

At the Coffee House, Daniel reacts to Brian’s shocking admission. “What did you just say?” he demands. “I said that you’re my son,” Brian repeats, “I’m your biological father…” Daniel puts his head down and runs his hands through his hair. He’s speechless.

“So you’re the guy my mom told me about… the father that knew about me but didn’t want me,” Daniel finally says. “You have to understand… it was a lot more complicated than that,” Brian tries to defend himself, “Your mother had tried to pass you off as another man’s child… she used me to help trap Danny into a marriage.” “That doesn’t absolve you of your responsibility to your child,” Daniel replies harshly.

Scene 16

Victoria waits in the living room for Roseanne to finish interviewing Reed upstairs. She hears them coming down the stairs. “All done,” Roseanne says as she and Reed return to the living room. Reed runs over to Victoria. “Mommy, can we go swimming?” he asks excitedly. “No, baby, I’m sorry, we can’t,” Victoria lets him down gently, “Noah and his friends are using the pool today. But I promise we can go swimming next time you’re here, okay?” Reed looks disappointed. “I’m sorry. I know you haven’t been here that much as it is, but we’ll find some time another day for you to use the pool.” “Okay,” Reed says quietly. “Let’s find something else fun to do,” Victoria suggests. “Can you tell me that story again?” Reed requests, “Where the wicked witch steals the little prince…”

Scene 17

Daniel and Brian continue their conversation at the Coffee House. “By the time, I found out that you were my son, your other father, Danny, had already grown so attached to you and considered you his own. You had already bonded with him,” Brian defends himself, “You considered him your father.” “Don’t make it sound like you did something noble by backing away,” Daniel fires back. “I admit… I wasn’t ready to be a father,” Brian confesses, “but at that point, it really was best for you to stay with Danny since you already knew him.”

Daniel doesn’t want to hear any excuses. “Look… I realize that I gave up my right to be your father a long time ago, but at least let me get to know you a little bit,” Brian requests, “On your own terms…” “I don’t want to get to know you!” Daniel maintains, “In fact, I don’t care if I never see you again.” Daniel storms out of the Coffee House. Ryder had been watching from the patio.

Scene 18

Scott and Jana are sitting together in the living room of the Fishers’ Apartment. Jana has just finished reading Scott’s Restless Style article on the feud between Noah and Kyle. “You know, that’s really sad… how those two families can’t get along,” Jana comments, “I can’t imagine what that must be like.” “Yeah, it’s tough,” Scott agrees, “but it sure makes a good story.” “And you wrote it beautifully too,” Jana adds. “Thanks,” Scott accepts the compliment. “What else have you written?” Jana asks. “I wrote a novel back when I was in GC last,” Scott answers, “but as it turned out, the woman I was collaborating with was Sheila Carter. She gave me the idea for my book, but I had no idea that she was telling me about my own life, just with the sequence of events distorted so that my mom was the villain.” “This Sheila woman… she really is the cause of all of this family’s misery, isn’t she?” Jana says. “Yeah, she is. So, um, needless to say, I steered away from writing novels,” Scott continues, “but I’ve written some poetry and some articles for my university’s newspaper.” “Maybe you’d let me read some of your other work?” Jana suggests. Scott’s face lights up. “You’d really want to?” he asks her. “Yeah,” Jana replies.

Scene 19

It’s now late afternoon. Daniel arrives at the Newman Pool to help chaperone Noah’s party. Nick is the first to approach Daniel. He calls his name. Daniel turns away. “I really don’t want to talk to you right now,” he tells Nick, “I’m here for Noah. I’ll stay out of your way. Stay out of mine.” He walks away, leaving Nick looking frustrated.

Daniel goes over to the refreshment table, and Sharon follows him. “Daniel, hi,” she says quietly, “I could sense the tension between you and Nick. I know it’s none of my business…” “It’s not just that…,” Daniel admits, “I just found out something that I wish I never knew… so I just want to try to enjoy myself here. Forget about everything else going on.” “Okay,” Sharon nods respectfully.

Nick approaches Daniel again. “Daniel, can I please just talk to you for a second?” he requests. “What [do you want]!?” Daniel replies angrily. “Look, I get that you’re not happy with me right now, but what’s going on with your mother has nothing to do with us,” Nick tries to smooth things over with his step-son. “Wrong,” Daniel says, “That night that you blew up on my mom and she came to see me, I told her to go home and that you would be cooled off. So she comes home and then you leave…” “I didn’t leave her,” Nick clarifies, “I left our house to keep our daughter safe.” “You might as well have left her,” Daniel tells Nick, “Because she needs you right now, and you aren’t there. But I’m gonna support her. You know why? Because I’m her son. It’s too bad that her husband can’t say the same thing…”

Scene 20

At the other end of the pool, Noah is talking to Abby, who is still dressed in ‘street clothes.’ “Have fun,” Abby tells Noah. She looks like she’s on her way out. “Don’t tell me you’re standing me up too,” Noah says. “This is my first official day of freedom after being grounded for so long… I’m only going to Kyle’s so that Ryder can come,” Abby answers, “You know he can’t step foot on the Ranch. My dad would probably have him shot on sight.” “Why are you still hung up on him?” Noah asks, “I thought your ‘alone time’ convinced you to stay away from the guy.” “Well, you know what they say… absence makes the heart grow fonder,” Abby replies, “Remember how you felt when your parents wouldn’t let you be with Eden.” “That’s different,” Noah immediately insists, “Eden’s not older than me. She didn’t kidnap anyone. And she would never hurt me.” “Neither would Ryder,” Abby insists, getting louder, “Look… just promise me you won’t say anything about Ryder… to anyone.” “You have my word,” Noah reluctantly agrees. “Thanks,” Abby says appreciatively, “and I am sorry for missing your party…”

Scene 21

In Hicksville, New York, Paul begins to explain more about his case to Lena. “Katherine Chancellor came to me for help in locating Jill’s birth parents,” Paul says, “She wanted to find them by Jill’s birthday… that’s in just over a week.” “No, it was in October,” Lena clarifies, “I lied about the birth date.” Paul nods. “Yeah, we’ve suspected that,” he says, “I knew that Jill wasn’t taken to the agency until mid-October. Care to explain?” “No, Mr. Williams, I don’t,” Lena replies, becoming frustrated, “I’ve been more than cooperative, but I don’t owe you any explanation. Was Jill adopted into a loving home?” “Yes,” Paul confirms. “Then she should have left it at that,” Lena replies. “Jill wants to know who she is,” Paul tells Lena, “Where she came from. Only you can give her that kind of information… that peace of mind.” Lena doesn’t reply. “You owe her that much,” Paul continues, “She’s your daughter.” “I don’t owe her anything,” Lena insists, “I gave her up, so that she could have a better life. And it sounds like that’s what she got.” “But what she missed out on was getting to know her biological mother, and it’s not too late for that to happen,” Paul says, “You have to do it… You have to tell Jill that you’re her birth mother.”

Scene 22

Noah and Eden are talking out by the Newman Pool. “No. Noah, you have to stay away from Kyle,” Eden warns, “You’re still injured from your last fight.” “Relax, babe. I’m not gonna fight with Kyle,” Noah assures her, “but I am gonna ruin his party, just like he ruined mine.” “I don’t want you going anywhere near there,” Eden insists. “I won’t,” Noah answers. “Then how are you gonna get back at Kyle?” Eden questions. “Watch and learn,” Noah says cryptically.

Noah walks over to the picnic table where he left his cell phone. He calls Jack, who’s away visiting his sister Traci in New York. “Jack Abbott,” he says. “Hey, Jack. It’s Noah,” Noah informs him. “Noah, buddy! Good to hear from you,” Jack says, “Listen – is this about the issue of Restless Style, because I haven’t gotten a chance to pick one up yet.” “No, it’s not,” Noah answers, “although you’ll sure be in for a treat when you see it.” “I bet I will,” Jack replies sarcastically. Noah changes the subject: “So, anyway, I just thought you might like to know that Kyle is having a party at your place today.” “Kyle is supposed to be working at the Coffee House today,” Jack says angrily. “Well, big surprise – he lied,” Noah tells Jack, “and of course, he’s doing this just to show me up again.” “What does this have to do with you?” Jack inquires. “Because Kyle must have found out that I’m having a party today,” Noah explains, “So he decided to poach all of my guests away.” “What does he have against you, anyway?” Jack asks Noah. “Read your brother’s magazine,” Noah instructs him. “Right…,” Jack replies, “Okay, look… I’ll call Billy and get him to take care of things… Thanks, kid…”

Jack hangs up the phone and immediately dials another number. Billy Abbott picks up. “Hello,” he says softly. “You were supposed to be keeping an eye – two eyes – on Kyle,” Jack says in a frustrated tone. “I was – I am,” Billy lies. “Then why am I hearing that he’s having a party at the house right now?” Jack retorts. Billy is caught off-guard. “What kind of party?” he asks. “I don’t care if it’s a tea party!” Jack shouts, “I want you to go shut it down.”

Scene 23

Back at Lena Griffin’s residence in Hicksville, New York, Lena is growing tired of Paul. “I’d like you to leave,” Lena requests. “Just give me one more minute, and then I’ll go,” Paul states. Lena takes a deep breath. “Make it quick,” she says.

Paul begins his speech: “I have two children: my oldest is my daughter, Heather. And then I have a 17 year-old son named Ricky. I wasn’t involved in either of their lives when they were growing up,” he reveals, “And I regret that more than anything in this world. I can’t even begin to tell you how much it’s enriched my life to be able to get to know my kids… two people that I helped bring into this world.” Lena is silent. “Think what a relationship with your oldest daughter could do for you. You already told me you lost a daughter. Your other daughter is ill,” Paul continues, “I’m not saying to replace them with Jill, but maybe getting to know her could help fulfill your life…”

Scene 24

Brian sits out on the patio of the Coffee House, cooling off after his argument with his son Daniel, who just found out about his real paternity. Ryder approaches him. “Another coffee… on the house?” Ryder offers. “Sure. Thanks,” Brian replies as Ryder begins to give him a refill. “So… I saw you having quite an intense conversation with Daniel,” Ryder tells Brian. “You know him?” Brian asks. “Yeah, we have a complicated past,” Ryder admits, “We’re friends now, I think. He used to hate me, though…” “I know what that’s like,” Brian mutters.

Scene 25

Meanwhile, at the Fishers’ Apartment, Scott and Jana are sitting in front of Scott’s laptop and Jana is reading one of Scott’s old poems. “This one was right after I broke up with my last girlfriend,” Scot tells her, “or actually, she broke up with me.” “Was she blind?” Jana asks. “No,” Scott answers. “Well, then I don’t know why she couldn’t see what a great guy she had,” Jana tells him. “Thanks, but this was a long time ago,” Scott clarifies, “I’m over it now, but at the time, writing about how I felt was what got me through it.” “Maybe I could try that,” Jana suggests, “writing about my amnesia as a kind of therapy.” “Yeah, you know, I think that would be really helpful,” Scott agrees. Jana suddenly hugs him. “What was that for?” Scott asks. “You don’t expect anything from me,” Jana states, “You don’t want me to be someone that I’m not anymore.” “You’re talking about Kevin,” Scott realizes. “Yeah,” Jana says softly. “Can you blame the guy?” Scott asks. “No, I don’t blame him,” Jana admits, “but I wish he could see me now as I am and not want to change me…”

Scene 26

Victoria, Reed, and Roseanne are all in the living room of Victoria’s residence. Victoria and Reed are snuggling together on the couch while Roseanne observes from a distance. Victoria is just finishing up her story: “And once the wicked witch melted, the beautiful queen rescued her prince and they returned to her castle, where they lived happily after…”

“That was an interesting… story,” Roseanne comments, “Kind of a combination between The Wizard of Oz and a fairy tale.” “Well, I try to encourage Reed to use his imagination,” Victoria states. “I think I’ve seen enough,” Roseanne decides, “If you’ll excuse me, I have to return to the office to finish my report… I’ll see myself out.” “When will I hear from you?” Victoria inquires. “Soon,” Roseanne replies. She leaves the house.

“Okay, nothing to worry about, Victoria…,” she whispers aloud to herself as she looks back at Reed.

Scene 27A

Daniel approaches Noah (and Eden) by the pool. “Hey, buddy,” he greets Noah, “How’re those arms healing?” “The scars are getting fainter every day,” Noah answers. “Glad to hear it,” Daniel replies, “So, um, it doesn’t look like much of a party yet…” “You can thank Kyle for that,” Eden adds. “Yeah, people should be here by now,” Noah realizes. “Let me go make a few more calls,” Eden suggests. She leaves Daniel and Noah alone. “So… you and Eden, huh?” Daniel says with a smirk, “You’re still going strong…” “Of course,” Noah replies confidently, “Why wouldn’t we be?”

Suddenly, Noah’s cell phone rings. “Excuse me for a second,” Noah tells Daniel. “Yep,” Daniel replies. Noah answers his cell phone. It’s Abby, calling from Kyle’s party. “Hey! How’s it going over there?” she asks Noah, having to shout above the cheering and shouting going on in the background. “It’s not,” Noah answers in an agitated tone, “although from all the noise I can hear, I’d say it’s goin’ pretty well for Kyle.” “Don’t be jealous,” Abby tells Noah, “He’s new here. I’m sure he just wanted to meet some new people.” “On the same day as my party?” Noah replies, “Give me a break. This is just another way for Kyle to one-up me.” “Well, next time you have a party, I promise I’ll be there,” Abby tells her cousin. “Was it worth it?” Noah asks, “To go to Kyle’s?” “Well, it turns out Ryder had to work at the Coffee House,” Abby admits, “but I’ll make the most of my time here…”

Scene 28A

Meanwhile, at Kyle’s party, a large group of teenagers has gathered around. Some are swimming in the pool; some are socializing outside of the Pool House. Many are drinking. Abby is staring at Ricky from across the pool. He doesn’t see her.

“Cool party, Kyle,” someone tells him. “Everything is bigger and better for the Abbotts,” Kyle replies. Standing at the edge of the pool, Kyle [purposely] falls backwards, landing on a floating chair in the pool. He lays back in the chair and says, “It’s good to be King…”

Scene 27B

The scene changes to show Kyle’s photograph in Restless Style, which also features him in the floating chair. Noah is holding the magazine. “Kyle Abbott – you’re going down,” he says aloud, “King of Genoa City? Then it’s time for the king to fall.” Noah rips out Kyle’s page, crumbles it up, and throws it into the garbage.

Scene 28B

Kyle continues to float around in the pool chair without a care in the world. Suddenly, Billy arrives at the pool. “This party’s over!” he shouts. Kyle’s face immediately shows his anger as he and Billy stare each other down…

Next Time on The Young and The Restless

Jana Hawkes Fisher and Scott Grainger, Jr. are keeping each other company at the Fishers’ Apartment. “Why don’t you sleep with me tonight?” Jana suggests.

Abby Carlton and Ricky Williams are sitting by the Abbott Pool, talking. “Make out with me,” Abby suddenly tells Ricky, and she pulls him close to her, kissing him passionately on the lips.

Eden Gerick goes to Kyle Abbott’s pool party, intent on calling him out for the way he has treated Noah Newman. “You are the most selfish, self-absorbed, self-centred, pig-headed bastard I’ve ever met in my life,” Eden insults Kyle. Kyle laughs. “And you came all this way just to tell me that?” he asks.
