Scene 1

Devon Hamilton Winters is asleep in bed. It’s almost the afternoon, and he slowly begins to wake up. There’s a woman laying in bed next to him. As she turns in her sleep, her face becomes clear: it’s Tyra Hamilton.

Suddenly, Roxanne Porter, Devon’s girlfriend, wakes up in a cold sweat. It was only a nightmare. Roxanne looks at the clock and realizes she slept in.

Scene 2

Nicholas Newman returns home to the Tack House after his walk with his ex-wife Sharon Newman. His current wife, Phyllis Newman is waiting in the living room for him so that she can confess why someone has been harassing them. “Nick, baby, there you are,” she says softly. “What’s goin’ on?” Nick inquires, sensing her anxiety. “There’s something you need to know…,” Phyllis warns him…

Scene 3

Neil Winters and Alex Perez are meeting at the Athletic Club for lunch. “You didn’t even look at the menu,” Alex notices. “Trust me… I eat here so often, I can recite that thing backwards, forwards, sideways… in my sleep,” Neil tells her. Alex laughs. “Okay, Mr. Expert,” she says, “Then why don’t you tell me what’s good… I hear Gina’s lasagne is the specialty.” “That’s true, but you know, if you’re in the mood for pasta, the linguine is really underrated,” Neil suggests. “Linguine. Hmmm… okay,” Alex weighs her options, “But I think I’m feeling a little more adventurous.” “Then how about the sea scallops?” Neil suggests. He reaches over the table and points to the description of the meal on her menu… with the back of the menu facing him. “You do know this menu,” Alex comments before reading the description, “Salt and pepper sea scallops. Tossed in smoked tomato vinaigrette… Hmmm… sounds interesting.” “I promise it’s every bit as mouth-watering as it sounds,” Neil says. “You do, huh?” Alex replies, “Well, then, how can I pass that up… are you getting the linguine?” “I am,” Neil confirms. “You owe me a bite,” Alex says with a laugh. “Sure,” Neil nods. Alex takes a deep breath. “Oh, I’d forgotten how much I enjoy being around you,” she admits. “Ditto,” Neil agrees. “Let’s make a deal right now… to not make this all business, okay?” Alex suggests. “Deal,” Neil says.

Scene 4

Outside of the Abbott Pool house, Kyle Abbott is talking to a girl named ‘Sully’ on his cell phone. He had invited her to come watch his Restless Style photo shoot. “So you really can’t get here?” he says, “You’re gonna miss out on the show and the chance to drool over my hot body… Yeah, Another time. Soon though… Call me…”

Kyle hangs up and takes a few steps over to his uncle Billy Abbott, owner of Restless Style, and Scott Grainger, Jr., writer at Restless Style. “We can get started as soon as the photographer gets here,” Billy announces. “He’s not gay, is he?” Kyle asks. “No, he’s not gay,” Billy answers, with a laugh, “He’s Malcolm Winters.” “Who’s that?” Kyle asks. “You’ve never heard of Malcolm Winters?” Billy replies in disbelief, “He’s one of the most well-known and successful photographers in this country…”

Suddenly, Scott gets a phone call. It’s Jana Hawkes Fisher. “Scott, hi, it’s Jana,” she says. “What’s up, Jana?” Scott asks. “I know this is short notice and I understand if you say no, but I have a favor to ask of you,” Jana begins. “Okay… what is it?” Scott asks. “Well, I just got a call that my results are in from the scan I had done the other day,” Jana explains, “I was wondering… if you might be willing to go to the appointment with me.” “Don’t you want Kevin to be there?” Scott asks. “Well, Kevin just started his new job,” Jana justifies herself, “I don’t want him missing a day already.” “I just started a new job,” Scott reminds her, “but I’ll see what I can do. Hold on.” “What’s going on?” Billy asks. “Jana wants someone to take her to her appointment,” Scott says, “She’s getting some important results back today.” “Take off,” Billy gives permission, “We’ll do the photo shoots today; I don’t need you there for that. We can do the interviews later… as long as you can still get the articles done by print day.” “Yeah, no problem,” Scott agrees, “Thanks, Boss.”

Scene 5

Jack Abbott and Diane Jenkins are both in the living room of the Abbott Manor. “I have something to tell you,” Jack informs her. “Me too,” Diane says. “Who wants to go first?” Jack asks. Then, there’s a moment of silence. Jack decides to give his news first. “I’m taking a trip to New York,” he announces right as Diane says, “I’m taking a trip to Vancouver…”

Scene 6

Paul Williams returns to his apartment with bags of groceries in his hand. His son, Ricky Williams is in the living room. “Hey -- I picked up some more of your favorite cereals and, uh, the other stuff you wrote down,” Paul informs his son. “Thanks,” Ricky says. Paul goes into the kitchen and throws one bag down on the counter and puts the other right into the fridge. Then he joins Ricky in the living room.

“Stay here for a minute,” Paul instructs as he takes a seat, “I have something I want to tell you and something I want to ask you.” “Yes, I finished the last bag of milk,” Ricky admits, “and I forgot to write it on the list.” Paul laughs. “I know…,” he chuckles, “I bought some more, and that’s not what I was talking about.”

“First off, I have to take a trip for the next couple days to investigate a case I’m working on,” Paul announces, “If it goes well, I could be back early, but I’ll probably be gone about three days.” “What does that mean for me?” Ricky asks. “Well, I was thinking of leaving you here,” Paul informs his son, “but if you want, you could probably stay with Heather at the club, or I could ask her to stay here for a few days.” “I’ll be fine by myself,” Ricky answers, “If I could survive living in Los Angeles, I’ll be okay for a few days here in this small, uneventful place.” “Okay,” Paul laughs, “You’re sure?” “Yep,” Ricky replies confidently.

“Alright. I thought that’s what you’d say,” Paul says, “See – I’m getting to know you a bit… I feel like I know little things about you… the food you like to eat, the kind of music you like – that sort of stuff. These are things I’m ashamed to admit I didn’t know before.” Ricky listens silently to Paul’s speech. “But I feel like we haven’t had enough time to really get to know one another yet,” Paul admits, “And I really want to. I took on this case when I probably shouldn’t have, but when I get back… let’s do something together before the summer ends and you have to go back to school.” “Back to California, you mean,” Ricky adds. “No, actually, I don’t,” Paul replies, “What I’m asking you is… what would you think about staying here… permanently?”

Scene 7

Phyllis has just told Nick that someone is trying to get revenge on her for all the misdeeds she’s done in the past. “So this is all happening because of you?” Nick repeats in disbelief, “Because of things that you did long before we were married?” “Yes,” Phyllis confirms softly. Nick is clearly upset, having just been blindsided by Phyllis’s confessions. He picks up a pillow off the couch and throws it down. “Phyllis, I knew you had done some things you weren’t proud of, but running down Christine and Paul?” Nick shouts angrily, “I had no idea it was this bad…” “I am not the same person anymore!” Phyllis insists, “You changed me. Your love changed me.” “No… because you are still keeping secrets,” Nick replies, “Why did it take you this long to tell me? Even after you knew that someone was using our daughter to get to you. You put Summer in danger… just like you did when your actions made Mary Jane – Patty – poison our daughter with peanuts.” “No, don’t you dare say any of this is my fault!” Phyllis shouts, “I know you’re angry right now, so I’m gonna forget that you just said that to me… I love my daughter, Nick, and for you to ever suggest that I would do anything to intentionally hurt her… I just… I can’t even look at you right now.” “Don’t turn this around on me!” Nick shouts, “You are the one who got us in this mess.”

Phyllis is in tears. Angry, hurt, crushed… “You said you would support me. Help me through this…,” she says, a disgusted look on her face, “Instead, you’re just giving me this self-righteous garbage. Haven’t you ever done anything you regretted more than anything?” “I’m starting to regret that I don’t really know my wife,” Nick states, an angry, judgmental tone in his voice. He walks out of the Tack House leaving Phyllis in tears.

Scene 8

Roxanne goes to Crimson Lights Coffee House to get a coffee. As she waits at the counter, she pulls out her cell phone and calls Devon, who is away visiting Tyra and Ana Hamilton in Seattle. There’s no answer. “Devon, hey baby, it’s Roxy,” she leaves a message, “Can you please just call me when you get this? Let me hear your voice… Okay, I love you. Miss you. Bye.”

Malcolm Winters walks in and notices Roxanne at the counter looking a little depressed. “Roxy,” he calls her name, “Everything okay?” She turns around. “Oh, hi, Malcolm,” she responds, “Yeah, everything’s fine… I was just thinking about Devon. Have you heard anything from him?” “No, but you should ask Lily,” Malcolm suggests, “I’m sure he’s been in contact with her constantly.” Roxanne nods. “Yeah, you’re probably right,” Roxanne says softly, “I’ll be sure to talk to her. Look, I’m sorry, but I really have to get to the Boutique.” She grabs her coffee and rushes out of the Coffee House. Malcolm can tell that she wasn’t herself. “Yeah, sure,” he mutters, “Have a good one.” She’s already out the door.”

Scene 9

Neil and Alex begin to eat lunch at the Athletic Club. “Mmmm…. these scallops are delicious,” Alex comments, “You really do know how to pick a good meal.” “Just like I told you,” Neil states, “Here… you want that bite of linguini now?” “Absolutely,” Alex replies. Neil holds his fork out in front of her mouth and she takes a bite. “Mmmm… now that is some good stuff too,” she says.

Neil stares at her for a few moments before she notices. “What?” Alex asks. “You said you didn’t want this to be all business… But you do have a pitch for me,” Neil says knowingly, “I know you do, girl, so just lay it on me.” Alex smiles. “Alright… I want you to reconsider your decision not to merge Chancellor Industries with Tucker McCall Unlimited,” she states outright. “Ah, not this again,” Neil says, shaking his head, “Did Tucker send you here to work on me since Katherine turned him down?” “I happen to agree with Tucker that this is a good move,” Alex tells Neil, avoiding the question. “Well, of course you do. You work for the man,” Neil replies, “But for your information, I don’t trust Tucker.” “I know that… But what if I told you that it was in your company’s best interests, Neil?” Alex asks, “Would you trust me?”

Scene 10

Jana and Scott enter Dr. Brian Hamilton’s office. “My husband couldn’t be here today… This is Scott,” Jana says, “He’s a good friend.” Brian shakes his hand and they each take a seat. “Shall we get right into it?” he asks. “Please…,” Jana says hesitantly. She takes a deep breath. Scott can see how nervous she is. He puts his arm around her and pulls her close to him. She puts her hand on his other hand.

“These are the 3D images taken from your SPECT Scan,” Brian reminds Jana, “They’ve been color-coded to show blood flow to various parts of your brain.” He holds up one of the images. “If you take a look at your image here, you can see that there’s blood flow to the back of the brain,” he explains, “That’s normal, but on the other hand, if you look at the front side of your brain, that’s where the abnormalities can be seen.” He holds up a different image. “Here, you can see a drastic reduction in blood flow to the front part of your brain, and that’s on both the left and the right side.” Jana is silent. “And that’s not normal?” Scott clarifies. “No, it’s not,” Brian answers, “That’s what’s causing the problems. You see, the right temporal lobe has no blood flow, and that’s what controls long-term memory storage.” “So what does that mean?” Scott follows up. “It means that it’s as I suspected…,” Brian says, “Retrograde amnesia…”

Scene 11

Jack and Diane react to each other’s announcements that they are taking trips out of Genoa City. “You’re going to Vancouver?” Jack questions, “When?” “Tomorrow,” they both say in unison, “for three days.” They realize there’s a big problem: they would be leaving Kyle alone. “Great,” Jack says sarcastically, “When were you gonna tell me?” “Right now,” Diane replies matter-of-factly. It was obviously not the answer Jack was looking for. “Well, I needed to know that before I booked my trip to New York,” he states. “You could have consulted with me about that,” Diane says, “Why are you going there anyway?” “To see Traci,” Jack replies, “It was just the anniversary of dad’s death. I want to check in on her.” “That’s very nice of you, Jack, but you know, they do have a thing called a telephone,” Diane says, “I need to get important work files. That’s something I can’t do over the phone.” “You could have someone fax them,” Jack suggests, “and besides, I don’t see my sister enough as it is. You can’t hold me at fault for wanting to spend three days with her. That’s hardly any time at all.” “Well, you can’t fault me for wanting to keep my job,” Diane replies, “And I have far too many files to be faxed here anyway, so I need to go back to Vancouver. Plus, I want to pick up some of Kyle’s things since we’re gonna be staying here from now on.” “You’re right,” Jack agrees, “We just need to figure out a way to make arrangements for Kyle before tomorrow.”

Scene 12

A montage of the Restless Style photo shoot featuring Kyle and Noah Newman, with alternating scenes of Kyle’s photo shoot at the Abbott pool and Noah’s photo shoot with his sports car. Malcolm is the photographer.

“There you go,” Malcolm tells Noah, who’s sitting in the driver’s seat of his car, “Now smile, and hold it. Just like that.” He snaps several pictures.

“Look down at the water,” Malcolm instructs Kyle, who’s pretending to skim the pool, “Now slowly look up at the camera…” He snaps several more photos.

“Pretend you’re looking under there,” Malcolm tells Noah, who is standing in front of the car and has just opened up the hood. Noah leans down into the hood and pretends to be fiddling around as Malcolm takes several different shots. “Yeah, now hold one arm up on the hood. Slowly turn my way, and hold it,” Malcolm says. As Noah smiles for the camera, Malcolm takes a few more photos.

Now, Kyle is in a floating chair in the middle of the pool. “Lay back,” Malcolm instructs, “Just relax… and smile big.” He snaps a few photos. “Oh, yeah, the girls are gonna love this one,” Malcolm comments.

After multiple photos have been taken, Malcolm announces, “That’s a wrap.” Several of the photos flash on-screen including:

-Noah sitting on the hood of his car
-Kyle lying in a lounge chair, drinking lemonade
-Noah in the driver’s seat
-Kyle sitting at edge of pool
-Noah spraying the car with a hose
-Kyle skimming the pool
-Noah scrubbing the side of the car
-Kyle lying in a floating chair
-Noah looking under hood
-Kyle standing in front of the pool, holding a beach ball
-Noah standing in front of the driver’s side door

Scene 13

At the Williams Apartment, Paul and Ricky discuss the possibility of Ricky staying in Genoa City permanently. “I already talked to your grandparents, and they think it’s a good idea,” Paul informs his son, “They’ll miss you, but they understand why you should stay with me.” Ricky nods his head. “Yeah… I’ll stay. Definitely,” he answers, “It means a lot that you want to keep me around.” “I do, but listen… if you stay, you gotta do something for me,” Paul stipulates, “I want you to leave the past in the past, and focus on the future. Can you do that?”

Ricky realizes what Paul is implying. “Diane said something, didn’t she?” he asks. Ricky had previously asked Diane about his mother Isabella, whose whereabouts are unknown to him. “It doesn’t matter how I found out,” Paul answers, “But yes, I know that you’ve been asking questions about your mother. Ricky, it’s only natural for you to want to know… so I understand that you’re curious. The only explanation I can give you is that your mother loves you very much, but it’s best that she doesn’t see you.” “That’s exactly what my grandparents used to say,” Ricky comments, “It’s like you guys have your explanation rehearsed and memorized.” “Every word I just said is true,” Paul insists. “Is she in jail?” Ricky asks. “No,” Paul answers. “On drugs?” Ricky follows up. “No,” Paul says again. Ricky says nothing this time. “Listen… just leave it alone, Ricky. Please,” Paul pleads, “You grew up with loving grandparents who I am grateful took such great care of you and raised you so well, in a way that I probably couldn’t have done on my own. But I’m glad you’re here with me now. Genoa City is your home. Let’s just focus on that now. Nothing else.”

Scene 14

Brian continues to explain Jana’s condition to her and Scott. “Retrograde amnesia,” Brian repeats, “It’s very well established. Jana meets all the criteria for it.” “So my memory is just gone… forever?” “Unfortunately, the chances of you waking up one day and suddenly having your memory complete and intact are basically impossible,” Brian admits, “It would have to be a miracle, and I’m sorry to have to be the one to tell you that.” “So, in other words, it’s like Jana’s brain is a computer, and the hard drive has been completely wiped out?” Scott asks. “Hmmm, that’s an interesting analogy,” Brian comments. “Deep in Jana’s brain… I believe that the memories all still exist somewhere… it’s more like she’s been locked out of accessing any of them.” “Is there a way to fix that?” Scott inquires. “Well, we don’t quite know why, but the very parts of our brain that control our memories… our memory centers, if you will, are also some of the most vulnerable places,” Brian explains, “With a loss of blood flow, the connections that are needed to access the memories just aren’t there. It’s as if the aneurysm has burned the bridge that needs to be crossed. If we could just repair that connection, I have no doubt the memories are still there… intact.” “Is that possible?” Jana asks quietly and nervously. “This is a severe case… and what you’ve experienced is very rare,” Brian says. “So what you’re trying to say is no?” Scott deduces, “It’s not possible…” “I’m sorry,” Brian apologizes to Jana, “but right now, there’s no way to help you get your memory back.”

Scene 15

Malcolm, Kyle, and Noah arrive at the Restless Style headquarters, where Billy Abbott is waiting for them. “Hey! How’d the photo shoots go?” he asks. “We got two stars here,” Malcolm comments, “I think either of them could have a career in modeling if they wanted to.” “Make that plus-sized modeling… for Noah,” Kyle remarks, and as soon as the two are together, they’re at each other’s throats. “Shut up,” Noah replies, “There’s nothing wrong with my size.” “The first step to change is getting over your denial,” Kyle says, trying to instigate again.

“You both look fine!” Billy intervenes, “Meant in a totally non-homosexual, non-incestuous way… not that there’s anything wrong with that… well, the gay part.” He runs his hands through his hair, realizing the ridiculousness of the whole situation. “Uh, who’s idea was it to do this cover shoot anyway?” he asks. “Yours,” Malcolm replies. “Well, I’m starting to regret it,” Billy says, looking tired, “Can we just get this thing over with?”

“Give me your word you won’t kill each other for real,” Billy says to Noah and Kyle. “I won’t if he won’t,” Noah answers. “I’ll restrain myself,” Kyle agrees. “Don’t worry, I went through the same thing during a photo shoot with my brother – well, my fake brother,” Billy admits. “We’re not brothers!” Kyle states. “Neither were me and Cane,” Billy admits, “but I still know the feeling of wanting to punch each other’s lights out, so I appreciate you holding back.”

After a time-cut, Noah and Kyle assemble in front of the studio backdrop and Malcolm takes the rest of the photos. The shoot begins with Noah and Kyle glaring at each other, making fists, in a fighting pose. Then they’re pretending to punch each other. Then pretending to choke each other. Malcolm snaps multiple photos the whole time.

Scene 16

Paul and Ricky continue to talk in the living room of Paul’s Apartment. “I was just thinking, maybe when you’re gone, I can stay over at Kyle’s,” Ricky suggests, “That way, you won’t have to worry.” “Maybe I don’t want you to spend time with Kyle,” Paul says, “Don’t think I didn’t hear all about what he did to Noah.” “That has nothing to do with me,” Ricky says. “But why do you even want to hang around with the kid?” Paul asks, “You two don’t have that much in common from what I can see.” “We relate to each other,” Ricky answers. “How?” Paul questions. “Because he didn’t know his dad until now, just like I didn’t know you until now,” Ricky explains. “So, in other words, it’s nice for you to have someone who went through the same thing as you?” Paul understands, “Do you talk about growing up without your fathers… what that was like for each of you?” “Sometimes,” Ricky admits, “But normally Kyle just gets mad and changes the subject.. he doesn’t really say any of his feelings. I think it’s harder for him, but he just doesn’t admit it.”

Scene 17

Alex and Neil continue to discuss the rejected merger idea between Chancellor Industries and Tucker McCall Unlimited. “With all due respect to Mrs. Chancellor… she really is a brilliant business woman and I admire her a great deal. But in this case, she let her personal feelings dictate a business decision,” Alex says bluntly, “That’s the only logical explanation why this deal was rejected… She didn’t even give the merger a chance.” “Or she knew that Tucker trying to manoeuvre himself to get control of the company again.” Alex shakes her head. “I’m a lawyer, Neil,” she states, “I deal with facts and the fact is this merger is what’s best for both companies. I believe that strongly, and you know, my instincts are never wrong.” “Well, you did help Newman win the HMO lawsuit,” Neil credits her. “That means a lot to hear you acknowledge that,” Alex says, “seeing as you didn’t like me back then.” “But I always admired you,” Neil informs her, “and I appreciated that fire that you have inside you when you stand up for what you believe in, like you did, with me, so many times when we first met.” “Really? Then let me ask you again,” Alex says, before making a request, “Will you put aside your feelings for Tucker and just have another look at this proposal?”

Scene 18

At the Coffee House, Phyllis has met up with Malcolm because he had been a confidante to her around the time of Sasha Green’s death many years ago [an old newspaper clipping about Sasha’s death had been left on Phyllis’s doorstep earlier that day, presumably by the same person responsible for the dead eel in Nick and Phyllis’s bed and for almost running them down at the picnic].

“Woah, woah… slow down, girl,” Malcolm says as he tries to calm down her uncontrolled venting. “It’s not good, Malcolm,” Phyllis repeats, “It’s really not looking good. Nick is furious with me. Yet I am the victim here!” She’s teary-eyed, shaking, and rambling. Malcolm tries to console her.

“These are things I thought were buried,” Phyllis cries, “You remember… I told you that night… exactly how it happened. I didn’t kill Sasha. I left her alone in the apartment. She was smoking. She passed out. It caught on fire… I had nothing to do with it. I mean, I admit… I was so furious that night… I wanted to kill her, but I couldn’t… I would never kill anyone. Especially not now.” “I know, baby,” Malcolm comforts her, “Listen… it’s gonna be okay.” “No, it’s not gonna be okay!” Phyllis responds tearfully, “It’s not gonna be okay. Because I am being haunted by all of my past actions. I mean… things I did to Christine… now Daniel’s paternity. And after everything I went through to keep it a secret. Drugging Brian… changing the results. A couple times. That’s something I haven’t thought about in years. I’ve put Sasha Green and Brian Hamilton totally out of my mind… until today.”

Scene 19

Nick and Noah have both returned to the Tack House, and Nick has just vented about Phyllis’s past being the reason why someone attempted to run them down at the picnic. ”I’m sure Phyllis didn’t mean for any of this to happen,” Noah defends his step-mother, “I’m sure she never expected these things to catch up with her.” “Of course, she didn’t,” Nick agrees, “I know it was unintentional, but it doesn’t change the fact that it put you, and Summer, and Faith… all of us in danger. And it doesn’t change the fact that… maybe I don’t know my wife as well as I thought.” “I didn’t know Phyllis back then either,” Noah states, “But I know her now. And the Phyllis I know today, she’s a great wife, an amazing mother. A good step-mother… a loyal friend. Dad, what else do you really need to know about her?” “You’re right, son,” Nick realizes, “Maybe I haven’t been fair to Phyllis…”

Scene 20

Roxanne arrives at Fenmore’s Boutique to begin her shift. She looks in the mirror and on the wall behind her, she can see an advertisement of a young African-American couple. For a moment, the two people on the poster appear to be Devon and Tyra. Roxanne shakes her head and rubs her eyes and when she turns around, the advertisement is, of course, of two regular people. Roxanne takes a deep breath. “Get a hold of yourself, girl,” she says aloud.

Scene 21

After the photo shoot, Kyle is walking up the front steps to the Abbott Manor. He’s talking to Ricky on his cell phone. “My dad’s going away for the next couple days to investigate a case,” Ricky tells Kyle, “I told him that maybe I can stay at your house. That way, he won’t be calling all the time and checking in or making my sister check up on me.” “Yeah, just come over,” Kyle says, “They’re not gonna say no if you just show up here with your bags.” Kyle hangs up as he enters the house. Jack and Diane are deep in conversation in the living room.

“You’re back,” Diane states the obvious, “That was quicker than we thought.” “I have to do the interview tonight still,” Kyle answers. “How did the photo shoot go?” Jack asks. “It was cool,” Kyle replies, “So how come you two stopped talking as soon as I walked in the door?” “We wanted to hear how your shoot went,” Diane answers. “Well, Rick’s coming over for a bit,” Kyle tells them, without asking for permission, “You can go back to whatever you were talking about before.” He prepares to leave the room.

“We were just trying to rearrange our schedules,” Diane says. “It seems you’re mother and I, being new at this whole co-parenting thing, both planned trips for the same days,” Jack reveals. Kyle’s face lights up. “What days are we talkin’?” he inquires. “The next three days,” Jack answers, “And before you ask… no, there is no way you’re staying here alone.” Kyle suddenly gets an idea. “It’s cool,” he replies, trying to sound amenable and understanding, “I’ll stay over at Rick’s. I’m sure Paul won’t mind.” Jack and Diane look at each other as if it’s a potentially viable idea, and Kyle realizes that if he and Ricky play their cards right, they could both be left home alone after all…

Scene 22

Neil and Alex continue to have dinner at the Athletic Club. “I thought we weren’t gonna discuss business all night, so how about this?” Neil suggests, “You give me the proposal, and I will go over it first thing tomorrow at the office. And then I’ll give you a call. Is that a deal?” “Okay,” Alex nods. She hands Neil the folder. Malcolm, having returned to the Athletic Club to go to his room, witnesses the exchange and approaches Neil and Alex.

“Well, well, well… I’m havin’ flashbacks to Kenya,” Malcolm says, “My brother and my fiancée. Only this time you’re out in the open instead of behind my back.” Neil and Alex are both upset by Malcolm’s implication. “Malcolm, come off it,” Neil replies, “This is getting so old.” “It’s already old. Eight years old,” Alex corrects him, “And Malcolm, for your information, we’re not engaged any more… per your wishes. You broke off the engagement because of your misconception.” “This is two friends catching up and talking a little business… that’s all,” Neil adds. “That’s not what it looked like to me,” Malcolm tells them. “Then once again you’ve jumped to an incorrect conclusion,” Alex insists.

“If you can be civil, you’re welcome to join us,” Alex offers, “If not, then please leave so that you only ruin one of our evenings, and we can enjoy the rest of our dinner.” “You two deserve each other,” Malcolm states as he turns around and leaves. Neil sighs. “You handled that nicely,” he compliments Alex, “I’m sorry you had to go through it with Malcolm again… Take him or leave him, but that’s my brother and he’s never gonna change.” “You know what? This time, I can finally say I’m over it,” Alex replies.

Scene 23

Scott sits down in a chair in the waiting room. Jana sits on his lap and puts her head on his shoulder. “So where do you go from here?” he asks her. “I honestly don’t know,” Jana admits, “I’m not only lost on my past; I’m just as lost about my future…” In that moment, Scott musters up the courage to make a confession to Jana. “Jana, um, there’s something that, maybe, I think I should tell you…,” he starts.

“Wait. I know what you’re gonna say,” Jana tells Scott, “I know that you’re Kevin’s friend, and you’re gonna tell me that I should stay with him. That we’re still married, no matter what.” “Well, actually, I…,” Scott begins to speak, but Jana cuts him off again. “And you’re right,” she admits, “I still… I feel like I still owe it to Kevin to try. If I’m gonna find out who I am, I need to go back to being what I was before… Kevin’s wife. And then eventually, I hope… things will all fall into place.” Scott nods his head and accepts what Jana says. But he’s disappointed… he was going to tell Jana that he was developing feelings for her.

Scene 24

Phyllis is out on the patio of the Coffee House. She sees a photo of Kevin and Jana Fisher, owners of Crimson Lights, on the patio bulletin board. “Well, Jana, maybe you’re the lucky one,” Phyllis mutters, “Wish I could forget about my past for good…” Suddenly, someone is standing beside her. Phyllis notices, looks up and sees Dr. Brian Hamilton. “Hello, Phyllis,” he says…

Next Time on The Young and The Restless

Neil Winters and Alex Perez are having lunch at the Athletic Club. “If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that there’s life after Drucilla, but they’ll never be that same kind of love that I shared with her,” Neil confesses. “Don’t be so sure,” Alex says optimistically.

Phyllis Newman and Brian Hamilton continue to have a heated conversation out on the patio of the Coffee House. “Everything alright out here?” a voice interrupts. It’s Phyllis’s son, Daniel Romalotti, Jr.. “Daniel…,” Phyllis whispers.

Scott Grainger, Jr. goes to Fenmore’s Boutique to see his mother, Lauren Fenmore Baldwin. Roxanne Porter is there alone. “Are you here by yourself?” Scott asks. “Yeah… I’m just closing up,” Roxanne answers. “Do you need some help?” Scott inquires. “Are you offering?” Roxanne clarifies.
