Scene 1

It’s the start of a beautiful morning on the Newman Ranch. At the Tack House, Phyllis Newman is sitting on the couch, planning out the day’s events in her mind.

“There’s my handsome husband,” Phyllis says as Nicholas Newman comes downstairs dressed in a business suit. Phyllis ambushes him right away with her ideas: “Baby, you know what I think we need to do today is celebrate,” she announces, “Lauren’s back and that freak Sarah is dead; you and your father have been released from prison; Noah and Eden are back from Paris. There is so much to be thankful for.” “What’re you thinkin’?” Nick inquires. “Well, the pool’s just been opened and it’s such a gorgeous day outside,” Phyllis clarifies, “We can invite Michael and Lauren, and the family over. Go swimming, have a barbecue… I know Summer would love to see Fen… Whaddyou say?” Nick ponders the idea for a moment. “This is a bit last-minute. I have a meeting later today… that I’m already dressed for,” he points out, “but I can call Connie and tell her to clear my calendar. We can reschedule the meeting for tomorrow.” “Great,” Phyllis smiles, “I’ll call Michael and Lauren, and you call your parents and your sister.”

Scene 2

At the former caretaker’s house on the Newman Ranch, Victoria Newman is about to go pick up her son Reed Hellstrom when her cell phone rings. Victoria answers her phone. “Vick, hey,” her brother Nick greets her, “Phyllis and I are throwing a pool party this afternoon. You and Reed are welcome to join in the fun.” “Nick, that sounds great, but I wish I would have known sooner,” Victoria replies. “Yeah, Phyllis just came up with the idea this morning,” Nick explains, “You know how spontaneous she is.” “Right. Nick, I don’t mean to be short with you,” Victoria says, “but I was just on my way out when you called. I have plans with Reed all day that can’t be broken.” “No, that’s alright, I understand,” Nick answers, “You have a good time with my nephew.” “Thanks, you have fun too.” They hang up, and Victoria heads out the door.

Scene 3

At their apartment in the city, it’s a happy new day for Michael Baldwin and his wife, Lauren Fenmore Baldwin. “Good morning, Mrs. Baldwin,” Michael says playfully as he hands her a cup of coffee and takes a seat next to her on the couch. “Good morning, Mr. Baldwin,” Lauren replies, with a big smile on her face, “I can’t tell you how much I have missed being here with you, and Fen, and Eden.” “Well, you are definitely right back where you belong,” Michael states, “And to show you how happy I am to have you back – actually, how happy we are to have you back, Fenmore and I have a surprise for you.” “A surprise!?” Lauren is touched, “Oh Michael, you shouldn’t have.” Just then, the phone rings.

“I’ll get it,” Lauren calls out. “Hello,” she greets. It’s Phyllis: “Hey Lauren! Listen, I know this is really short notice, but Nick and I are throwing a little celebration for family and friends at the Newman Pool. Can you and Michael come with Fen?” Lauren is not sure. “Oh, let me ask Michael. He has a surprise planned for me today, so if this doesn’t interfere, then you know we’ll be there,” she says. Putting the phone against her shirt to muffle their conversation, she calls for Michael. “Honey, Phyllis wants us to go to a pool party at the Newman’s,” she informs him. “Today?” Michael asks. Lauren nods her head. “Well, we’ll just bring your surprise along with us,” Michael replies. Lauren returns to her phone.

“Michael says it’s okay, so we’ll be there,” she says, “What time?” “Um, at noon-hour,” Phyllis tells her, “That’ll give the staff some time to prepare the food. Oh, and don’t forget: invite Kevin and Jana, and even Gloria and Jeffrey.” “Will do,” Lauren laughs, slightly amused. “Okay, great. See you later.”

Scene 4

Victoria Newman arrives at Crimson Lights Coffee House to meet her ex-husband JT Hellstrom and pick up her young son Reed Hellstrom. JT and Reed are already sitting at a table. Reed is the first to spot Victoria. “Mommy!” he calls, already out of his seat and running towards her. “Hi, Baby! Mommy’s missed you so much!” Victoria greets her son, taking him in her arms and lifting him up. “Hi,” JT says, somewhat awkwardly. “Hi,” Victoria echoes. “So, what do you have planned for our son today?” JT asks his former wife. Victoria sits at the table and puts Reed on her lap. “Well, Reed and I are going to go to the lake and have a picnic. Does that sound like fun to you, honey?” “Yeah!” Reed replies, enthusiastically!

“What about you? What’s on your agenda for the day?” Victoria asks. “I’m meeting Paul for breakfast over at Indigo,” JT states. “Oh. You helping him with a case?” Victoria inquires. “No, just two old friends catching up,” JT tells her. “Well, we better get going,” Victoria decides, breaking up the small-talk. “Yeah. Come here, little man. Give Daddy a hug,” JT says as he hugs his son, “Have fun with mommy, and I’ll see you tonight.”

Victoria takes Reed’s hand and they walk towards the exit of the Coffee House. “Alright, come on, honey. We have to make a quick stop first, and then we’ll be off to the lake.”

Scene 5

Back at the Tack House, Phyllis’s cell phone rings. “That must be Lauren again,” she whispers aloud as she picks up her phone. “Hello.” No answer. “Hello?” Phyllis says again, still without a response. She hangs up, looking confused and slightly unsettled, but shrugs it off. Nick comes back downstairs, having changed out of his business suit. “Who was that?” he inquires. “No one. It was no one,” Phyllis stammers, “Must’ve been a wrong number.” She throws her arms around Nick. “I am so excited for this party,” she says, with a sparkle in her eye, “It’s been so long since good things have been happening for this family. But that changes, starting today. I can feel it.”

Scene 6

At the Fisher Apartment, things have been tense, but a new day brings new hope for Kevin Fisher that his amnesiac wife, Jana Hawkes Fisher, might remember their love for each other and the incredible times they’ve shared together. “Hey babe – Jana,” Kevin greets her, correcting himself from using a term of endearment. “Sorry. Old habits are hard to break… Whaddyou want me to call you?” “Jana’s fine,” she says. They’re cordial, but there is a great distance between them. A few moments of silence go by. Jana stands with her back to Kevin. Kevin struggles to find something to say. “How’d you sleep?” He finally asks. “Okay,” she replies, remaining distant, and still not even looking at him. “Good,” he says, and then tries to make conversation: “You know, that guest room bed is lumpy as hell. I’m surprised Ryder never complained. We really should replace the mattress.” “Sure. I want you to be comfortable,” Jana assures him. “I would be comfortable in my own bed… with my wife,” Kevin responds, more coldly than he meant to. “I’m sorry, I’m saying all the wrong things today. Can we just start over?” “I’m not doing this to hurt you,” Jana offers, softening her tone a bit. “I know,” Kevin says. A small comfort.

Scene 7

Over at Indigo, JT meets Detective Paul Williams for breakfast. Paul is a friend, mentor, and in a way, a father figure to JT. They exchange hellos and begin to catch up. “So, what’s new?” asks JT. “Well, actually my son Ricky is gonna be spending the summer in Genoa City,” Paul announces. “Wow, you must be pretty excited,” JT replies, before inquiring, “He’s gotta, be what 15 by now?” Paul quickly corrects him: “Just turned 17. He’ll be a senior in high school next year.” “No way,” JT replies, “so he’s the same age as DJ…” “Your little sister,” Paul adds. It sounds like a statement, but it’s more of a question. “Yeah,” JT replies, distantly. It’s clear he doesn’t want to get into it. “Sounds like there’s a story there,” Paul observes, being careful not to pry or overstep. JT gets right to the point: “Look, I mean, I love my sister, but for two people who share the same parents, we couldn’t be more different.”

Scene 8

At the Fishers’ Apartment, Kevin and Jana are sitting at the table eating breakfast. Neither one says a word. The ringing of Kevin’s cell phone finally breaks the silence. Kevin leaves the table to answer his phone. “Kevin, hi, it’s Lauren. How’s Jana?” she asks. “The same,” Kevin replies, “Um, I’d rather not talk about it.” “I understand,” Lauren says, “That’s actually not why I’m calling… Phyllis just called me, and we’re all invited over to the Newmans’ for a pool party.” Kevin is quick to shoot down the idea: “Um, ya, I don’t know if Jana’s up for that…”

Jana, overhearing the conversation, rushes over to the phone. “What’s going on?” she demands to know. “Pool party at the Newmans’,” Kevin whispers back. “No, I wanna go. Kevin, please,” Jana pleads, “At this point, anything is better than being cooped up in this apartment. I tell you, I am going stir-crazy in here.” Kevin is still a little sceptical. “Alright, we’ll go,” he finally tells Lauren. Before Lauren hangs up, Kevin has one more question: “Um, do you think it would be okay if I invited Ryder?” he asks, unsure of what kind of response to expect. Lauren considers it for a moment. “Well, Phyllis did say to invite the family. And we promised Ryder that if he chose us over Sarah and Daisy that we would show him what it’s like to a part of a real family. So go ahead; invite him.”

Scene 9

Paul and JT continue their discussion at Indigo. “My sister and your son, both seniors in high school next year. Boy, it’s amazing how the time just flies by, isn’t it?” JT says. “Yeah,” Paul agrees, “especially when I haven’t been there for a lot of Ricky’s life, like I should have been. You know, he hasn’t even been to Genoa City since he was a kid, and we talk on the phone every once in a while, but it’s not enough. I can’t even think of the last time I’ve gone out to LA to see him.” “There were extenuating circumstances,” JT replies, trying to be understanding of Paul’s situation. “But Ricky was innocent, and I shouldn’t have let him suffer for all the mistakes his mother made, mistakes that he still has no idea of. And I need to make up for that, and take responsibility.”

Scene 10

At Indigo, Paul and JT continue to discuss Ricky’s upcoming stay in Genoa City. “Are you ready to be raising a teenager?” asks JT, “I remember those were some pretty wild years of my life. If he’s anything like I was at his age, I’d hate to suddenly have to be responsible for him.” “I wasn’t exactly an angel either,” laughs Paul, “but you know, I’m looking forward to it… it’s time that my son and I get to know one another.”

“What brought about this change in attitude about Ricky?” JT inquires as he takes a sip of coffee. “Well, it was a couple things,” Paul says nonchalantly, “Heather, for one. She’s really given me a second chance to make things right and be a father to her like I should have, and I think Ricky deserves the same… And Patty. When I think of how close we were as kids, I can’t help but feel somewhat responsible for what happened with Jack… because if I had been there for her these last 20 years, then Victor would have never been able to use her to get to Jack, and this whole mess with Jack and Emily could have been avoided.” “So you don’t want to make the same mistake of being absent from Ricky’s life?” JT asks. “Yeah,” Paul replies, “Patty needed her brother there, and I wasn’t. Ricky needs his father, and this time, I’m gonna be there.” “How is she, by the way -- Patty?” JT inquires, changing the subject. “She’s back at Walworth,” Paul explains, “still very detached and unfortunately not making much progress, but the doctors are optimistic. And with Emily back in Minnesota, hopefully Dr. Jasper can find a way to break Patty’s obsession over Jack and Emily.”

Scene 11

On this bright, lovely morning, the Abbott Manor is somber as Jack Abbott wakes himself up from a night of misery spent crying over the departure of his girlfriend Emily Peterson, who returned to her psychiatry practice in Minnesota. Emily’s last words still echo in Jack’s mind. The wounds are still fresh. “Jack, every time I see you, I’m reminded of Patty, and what she did to us… and how I betrayed her… my own patient that I swore to help and protect… And I know, even if you won’t admit it, you will never look at me the same way either because when you look at me, you can’t help but see Patty. My face is the same face that caused you and your family so much pain…,” she had said with tears in her eyes. Emily had always been so stoic, but this was killing her too, “And Jack, it was our engagement that sent Patty over the edge, and I can’t continue to live here, and be with you, knowing that I’m responsible for that. The guilt will just eat us alive, and we can never build a happy life together with that kind of a burden hanging over our heads… so it’s just better this way. I do love you, Jack… very much, but I have to do what’s best for both of us… and I know you do too. So, I think… this is goodbye, Jack.” Jack covers his face with his hands, and starts crying hysterically again.

Scene 12

At Indigo, Paul and JT continue their conversation, now shifting their focus to JT’s life. “How’s the new apartment?” asks Paul, “and Reed, how’s he adjusting to all the changes?” “Alright,” JT responds, vaguely and somewhat distantly. Paul understands: “It’ll take time before he can think of the new place as home.” JT nods in agreement. “Yeah, and I mean, he misses Victoria, but I have to do what’s best for my son, and Victoria has been so focused on the latest family crisis that Reed has come second for her.” “But now that Victor and Nick have been released, do you think Victoria will be more involved?” Paul questions. “Maybe, until the next family crisis comes along,” JT answers, “but Victoria is as determined as ever to appeal the decision and get full custody of Reed for herself. I won’t let that happen, Paul, but knowing Victor Newman, I fear he’s gonna find some way to get his daughter what she wants.”

Scene 13

At the former caretaker’s house, Victor and his daughter Victoria discuss the matter of Reed’s custody as Reed plays with toy cars at the other end of the room. “I don’t want you to worry about a thing, my sweetheart,” Victor assures his daughter, “I’ll see to it that Reed is returned to you, right where he belongs.” “I don’t know how much more of this I can take,” Victoria admits, “I’ve missed out on so much of Reed’s childhood already… and JT, he’s not being reasonable. He’s using every little thing against me, blowing things way out of proportion to make me look like a bad mother.” “Well, that’s ridiculous, for heaven’s sake! You’re not a bad mother,” Victor states, “You’re an excellent mother. I’ve seen how much Reed adores you, and I know how much he misses you when you’re not around.” “If I don’t get custody of my son, how much will I even be around him? I mean, sure, on paper, I’ll have visitation, but I won’t be the primary maternal figure in his life, daddy,” Victoria worries, “Don’t you see? It’s not just about losing my son, it’s about losing my son to her, to Mac…” Victor scoffs. “Sweetheart, listen to me. You are Reed’s mother. Nothing is going to change that,” Victor assures her. “But JT is still Reed’s father, and I have to face that he and Reed are spending a lot of time with her…” Victoria points out. Victor doesn’t seem to have heard his daughter. “I’ll take care of things, alright?” he tells her again as his cell phone rings. “Excuse me,” Victor says. He walks over to the door to answer his phone, “Hello.” “Hey Dad.” It’s Nick.

Scene 14

Paul and JT continue their conversation as they eat breakfast at Indigo. “You really think Victor plans to interfere with Reed’s custody proceedings?” Paul asks. “Yeah, I do,” says JT, “Victor practically threatened me not to keep Reed away from his family.” JT remembers the exact conversation he had with Victor at the Athletic Club. “I will not discuss my son with you like he's a subsidiary to be voted on by a committee. You know, you have imposed yourself into my marriage from the beginning. Thank God I don't have to put up with your power plays much longer,” JT had warned. In his usual calm but calculating manner, Victor had replied, “All right, you want to be free? Consider yourself sprung, all right? Just know that I will always look out for my daughter and my grandson. And if you cause any kind of difficulty, you'll have to play with the big boys. You will deal with me.”

Turning back to Paul, JT says, with conviction, “Victor keeps saying ‘Reed is a Newman.’ Well, he’s a Hellstrom too, and I’m his father. If he thinks he can keep Reed away from me, he’s got another thing coming.”

Scene 15

Nick rejoins his wife in the living room of the Tack House, after having made a phone call in the kitchen. “I just talked to Dad,” he says, “He and Mom are gonna stop by the pool later, but they can’t stay long.” Phyllis stares off into space, not fully paying attention. “Great,” she finally answers, “Is Supergirl ready?” “She’s just brushing her teeth. She’ll be down in a minute,” Nick responds. “What did she say when you told her about the party?” Phyllis asks, to which Nick replies, “She is thrilled. You should have seen her face light up.” Phyllis says nothing. Nick can tell she’s not herself: “Are you alright?” he asks. “Yeah… I’m fine,” Phyllis says, “I was just thinking about Jack, sitting at home all alone, feeling sorry for himself.” “You wanna invite him?” Nick asks, already knowing the answer. “Would you mind?” Phyllis answers, “I think it’ll be good for him to be around friends right now.” Nick gives his approval and Phyllis calls Jack.

“Hello,” Jack picks up his phone. “Hey… Jack,” Phyllis says in a cheerful tone. Jack cuts her off: “As much as I like talkin’ to you, Red, don’t even try to cheer me up cause there’s nothing you can say that’ll work.” “Jack, why don’t you come and spend the day with us? We’re throwing a pool party this afternoon…” Phyllis informs him, “It might help to take your mind off of Emily…” Jack considers her invitation. “No… I’d just bring everyone else’s mood down, and you got a lot to be happy about right now; I don’t wanna rain on the parade.” “I’m sorry to hear that, Jack,” Phyllis says, “but hey, if you change your mind…” “Yeah, I know…,” he cuts her off, “Hey Red… thanks for thinkin’ of me.” As Jack hangs up his cell phone, the door bell of the Abbott Manor rings. “Emily!?” Jack calls out, some hope returning to his face. He hurries to his feet and runs to the door. Jack opens the door and sees his sister, Ashley Abbott, standing on the front porch. “Ash,” he says softly. “Jackie,” she greets her brother as they embrace.

Scene 16

It’s now early afternoon. Victoria and her son Reed are in the park feeding ducks. A duck approaches Reed. “Here he comes, Reed! Give him some food. Yeah, throw it to him,” Victoria encourages her son as he tosses a tiny piece of bread to the duck. “Give him another piece.” Reed turns to Victoria: “Mommy, can I pet him?” “No, you can’t sweetie. He’s a wild animal, and we don’t pet wild animals… You can hand him the food though,” she instructs her son. Reed hands the duck another small piece of bread. “Here, Ducky,” he says. Victoria turns to another duck. “Go see Reed. Over this way,” she says, guiding it towards Reed. Reed tosses it a small piece of bread. “Give’em a bit more,” Victoria instructs and he holds his hand right in front of the duck’s beak. It takes the food. You’re getting too close, honey. They’re gonna get scared. Back up, sweetie. Don’t get too close.” Reed turns around and spots another group of ducks. “Mommy, look. That one has babies!” he points out. “A mother with her babies,” Victoria observes, “Just the way it should be…” She hugs Reed, a big smile on her face.

Scene 17

Back at the Fishers’ Apartment, Kevin gives Jana an update on Ryder. “So, I just got off the phone with Ryder. He said he’s gonna come,” Kevin announces. “That’s nice,” Jana replies, and from her tone of voice, she’s not paying full attention. Kevin is concerned: “Are you sure you’re ready to go to this party? I mean, you’re the one who’s been refusing to leave the apartment for days, and now you wanna be around all these people who love you and care about you, and want you to remember them, just like I do. Can you handle that? Because I don’t wanna stress you out…” “I’ll be fine, Kevin,” Jana assures him, “You’re right. I’ve been hiding out in here, because I’ve been afraid of running into anyone I know, and not being able to remember them, but these people are my family and my friends, and I have to face them sometime. And this party is as good a time as any.” “Okay, then. Let’s go get ready,” Kevin suggests. Jana stops Kevin for a moment. “You know what the sad part is, though?” she admits, “I just agreed to go to a pool party, and I don’t even remember if I like swimming.”

Scene 18

At the Baldwins’ Apartment, Lauren eagerly awaits her surprise from Michael and Fen. “So, can you give me any hints about this special surprise?” Lauren entices her husband as she sits on his lap. “Well, you know, they say, good things come to those who wait,” Michael teases, “but, what the hell? Fortunately for you, my dear, your surprise will be ready momentarily, and since you know how much I love spoiling you…” He is cut off by the ringing of his cell phone. “Right on queue,” Michael states. Lauren moves off of his lap so he can get up off the couch.

Michael speaks to an unknown caller on his cell phone. The conversation is inaudible. Michael hangs up and returns to Lauren. “Ready,” he announces. “I thought you said we were taking the surprise to the pool party,” Lauren says. “I think I’ve said too much already,” Michael admits, as he motions for Lauren to sit back down on the couch, “But you don’t worry about a thing, Mrs. Baldwin. Now, you sit right here and keep your eyes closed. No peaking.”

Scene 19

Victoria sits with her son Reed on a blanket under a tree by the lake. They’re having a picnic. Reed looks bored and Victoria quickly takes notice. “Honey, what’s wrong?” she inquires, “You’ve barely touched your sandwich.” Reed examines the peanut butter-and-jelly sandwich that Victoria made for him, and explains, in his cute baby voice, why he’s less than thrilled: “When Mackenzie makes it for me, she cuts it in four… and she puts jelly and then peanut butter, and then more jelly… and she uses peanut butter with nuts in it.” Victoria’s face shows a mixture of emotions: hurt, jealousy, anger… not at her son, but at the situation that has caused another woman to play such a strong maternal role in his life. “Oh, she does, does she?” Victoria manages to reply, softly. She holds back a tear. “I’ll try to remember that for next time…”

Scene 20

At the Baldwins’ Apartment, Michael uncovers Lauren’s eyes and she sees a laptop computer sitting on the coffee table. “A new laptop,” Lauren states the obvious. “Well, technically yes, but that’s not the surprise,” Michael begins, “Here, let me set this up for you.” He hits a few buttons on the computer. “What are you doing?” Lauren wonders. “Setting up this new, state-of-the-art webcam.” “Webcam?” Lauren is confused. “That’s right,” Michael nods, “There’s someone who’d like to say hello to you.”

Scene 21

Over at the Abbotts’, Ashley is trying to convince her brother Jack to move on with his life. “Jackie, did you really think I could have been Emily? You have to accept that she’s not coming back…,” Ashley gently tells her brother. “In my head, I know that,” Jack admits, “But, Ash, I just got off the phone with Phyllis... I heard the phone ring, then the door bell, and my first instinct both times was ‘please God, let that be Emily. Let her come back and say it was all a terrible mistake for her to leave me.’” Ashley is sympathetic, but realistic about the situation: “Look, Jackie, I know you don’t want to hear this, but maybe things worked out for the best.” This is definitely not what Jack wants to hear…

Scene 22

At the Fisher’s Apartment, Kevin searches for the right way to respond to Jana. He grabs her hand. “Baby – Jana, listen to me, I know how frustrating and scary it must be to not remember anything about yourself, but we are gonna get through this. I promise you that.” “You really think we can?” Jana asks for his reassurance. “I know we can,” Kevin says confidently, “This is only temporary. I mean, the amnesia, it’s a setback from your aneurism, bur your memory will come back soon. I know it. And then I will have my beautiful, amazing wife back.” Jana takes Kevin’s statement the wrong way. “Am I not beautiful or amazing the way I am now?” she asks.

Scene 23

At the lake, Victoria and Reed continue their picnic, although it’s clear that Reed is not enjoying himself. He is still not eating his sandwich. “Okay, you know what, Baby,” Victoria begins, “Mommy’s sorry about your sandwich. We’ll stop on the way home and pick you up something to eat.” She rifles through the lunch bag she brought along. ‘Are you hungry?” she asks Reed. He nods his head ‘yes.’ “Okay, do you want some cookies?” Victoria offers. “What kind is it?” Reed asks softly, eying the bag of cookies Victoria is holding. “Oatmeal raisin; that’s all I had,” Victoria explains, already sensing that Reed is not interested. Reed shakes his head ‘no.’

Victoria gets up, hiding both her sadness and frustration. “Stay here, Honey. I’m gonna call Daddy for a minute,” Victoria tells her son. She takes a few steps away from the blanket so she can still watch Reed, but speak to JT in private. JT picks up: “Hello.” “Okay, what’s going on? I try to prepare a nice picnic for Reed, and he doesn’t want to eat anything I make him…” Victoria vents her frustrations. “Well, what did you give him?” JT inquires. “I made him a peanut butter and jelly sandwich… I thought, how could I go wrong with that? Two slices of white bread, some peanut butter and some jam… what kid doesn’t like that? And then I try to give him cookies. Oatmeal raisin, those are healthy… and he won’t eat those either.” “Let me give you a few hints about your son,” JT answers harshly, “Reed likes wheat bread over white bread, crunchy peanut butter over smooth, and chocolate chip cookies over oatmeal raisin. But you didn’t know any of that, did you, Victoria?”

Scene 24

At the Abbott Manor, Jack and Ashley have been discussing Emily’s decision to leave Genoa City. Jack is surprised by his sister’s previous comment. “What do you mean, ‘things worked out for the best?’” He repeats in disbelief, “Emily is held against her will in a psych ward for months, thanks to Patty. Then I show up with seconds to spare before she gets an autopsy performed on her in the morgue… when she’s still alive! Just when I think I got her back and we can finally get married and start our lives together, she decides to go back to Minnesota. Tell me how any of that worked out for the best.” Ashley places her hand on Jack’s and looks him in the eye. “Look at me, Jack. You will get through this, even if it doesn’t seem like it now.” Jack looks defeated. “We were perfect together, sis,” he says, putting his head down, “She was perfect for me. I’ve never met anyone like her in my life. I mean, she was smart… beautiful, sophisticated, classy… confident… where am I ever gonna find another woman like her?”

Before Ashley can respond, their conversation is interrupted by the doorbell ringing once again. “Now, who could that be?” Jack wonders aloud as he gets up from the couch. “Jackie… don’t get your hopes up again,” Ashley warns, softly. Jack nods. He reaches the front door and opens it to see a beautiful brunette woman standing with her back to him. For a moment, it looks like it really could be Dr. Emily Peterson. But as the woman turns around, it becomes clear that she’s not Emily: she’s Jack’s former girlfriend, Diane Jenkins. “Hello Jack,” she says with a sly smile, “Long time, no see.”

Next Time on The Young and The Restless

Jack Abbott and Diane Jenkins are talking in the living room of the Abbott Manor. “There’s something you need to know about Kyle,” Diane warns him. “What is it?” Jack asks.

In her bedroom at the Ranch, young Abby Carlton models a skimpy bikini in front of a full-length mirror. “Hello, Ryder,” she whispers aloud to herself, “How do I look?”

At the Baldwins’ apartment, Michael Baldwin finishes setting up a webcam for Lauren Fenmore Baldwin on her new laptop. He turns on the webcam and Lauren sees her adult son, Scott Grainger, Jr., better known as ‘Scotty.’ “Scotty!” Lauren calls out excitedly. “Hey mom,” Scott greets Lauren…
