Scene 1
Michael Baldwin arrives at the Newman Tack House. Phyllis Summers Newman and Nicholas Newman invite him inside. Victor Newman is also there. “Sorry, I’m late,” Michael announces, “I ran into an old friend… So what’s the update?” Michael asks. “We think Daisy’s responsible,” Phyllis claims. “Based on?” Michael prompts her for more. “Based on the fact that the person who did this was a woman with red hair,” Nick answers, “She spoke to Summer on several occasions and talked her into putting the eel in our bed as a joke.” “So because the lady had red hair?” Michael clarifies. “Because you know that Daisy and Ryder have motive… and opportunity,” Phyllis tries to convince him, “Even if Daisy set the plan up, Ryder could have been the one to drop off the eel when he got to the party… Michael, you were the one who suggested Ryder to begin with.” “I know, but look, Phyllis, all of this is still speculation. I agree, it looks suspicious, but you have no direct evidence linking Daisy or Ryder to the incident. Summer may be unable to identify the lady, and even if she could, we’d need more than the word of a 7 year-old. No offense.” “So, if we find out for certain who’s responsible?” Phyllis asks. “When we find out who’s responsible,” Victor cuts in. “What are our options?” Phyllis finishes. “Well, this person – or people -- gave the eel to your daughter. They never entered your home. They didn’t break in. Unfortunately, they may have played a sick joke, but they haven’t broken the law.” “They were trespassing on my property,” Victor states. “Prove it!” Michael challenges, “The only proof you have of someone being on the property is the eel and if Ryder dropped that off, remember, he was invited to the party.” ‘So, you’re telling us this is hopeless?” Nick asks. “No, I’m saying you can’t have them arrested,” Michael admits, “That doesn’t mean that there aren’t other alternatives.” “Such as?” Victor inquires. “You could sue for something like ‘intentional infliction of emotional distress,’” Michael suggests, “It’d be a long shot, but at least you’d be taking a stand.”
“Have you had any more suspicious phone calls?” Michael asks Phyllis. “None,” Phyllis answers. “Let’s hope it was a one-time incident,” Michael says. “But just to be sure, maybe you should change your number,” Nick adds. “Yeah, I will. Definitely,” Phyllis agrees. “I’ll also have Paul try to trace the calls, see if that helps identify who the perpetrator was,” Michael informs them. “And I’ll ask around the security team and find out if they saw anyone other than those who were invited to the pool party that day,” Victor offers. “Thanks, Dad,” Nick says.
Phyllis turns to Michael. “The thing is… I kind of hope it’s Daisy,” she admits, “because I already confronted Ryder.” “No!” Michael shouts. “Tell me you didn’t. That is a bad idea.” “I also took care of him,” Victor announces, “If Ryder Callahan had any involvement in this, I assure you it’ll end.”
Scene 2
Ashley Abbott is at the counter of Crimson Lights Coffee House ordering a coffee. Sharon Newman comes in with her young daughter Faith Newman. They join Ashley at the counter. “Hello, Ashley,” Sharon says from behind. Ashley turns around. “Hi, Sharon,” she replies, “Oh, you brought Faith!” Her face lights up. “Hello, Faith!” she says, leaning right over Faith’s stroller. “Oh, I tried the avocado for Faith, just like you suggested,” Sharon informs Ashley, “I mashed it up. You were right. She loved it.” “I’m glad,” Ashley replies with a smile, “You know, I really miss this little one. But I know that you and Nick are… I mean, I know she’s where she belongs.” “Yeah, I know, it was hard on all of us for a while,” Sharon agrees, “but look at you, CEO of Jabot now. I’m really glad you found something else meaningful in your life.”
“Yeah, I’ve been really busy lately,” Ashley nods, “So busy that I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen her.” She looks down at Faith. “Why don’t you hold her?” Sharon suggests. “Could I?” Ashley asks. “Yeah, I don’t think it would be confusing for her anymore,” Sharon responds. She picks up Faith gently from the stroller and passes her to Ashley. “Hello, Faith, Sweetheart. You’ve gotten so big. Yes, you have,” Ashley says in a baby voice. Faith starts crying when Ashley holds her, “Oh, someone’s a little fussy today…” “Here, let me put her back,” Sharon offers, taking Faith back from Ashley so she can quiet her. “Here you go, Sweetie. Mama’s here. I got you,” she says softly as she gives Faith a tiny kiss on her head. Ashley is visibly disappointed that her time with Faith is cut short. Sharon puts Faith back into the stroller. “Well, I better get a table. I’m sure Neil will be here any minute,” Ashley announces, “It’s nice seeing you.” “Yeah, nice seeing you too,” Sharon says back.
Scene 3
At his apartment, JT Hellstrom and his girlfriend Mackenzie Browning wait for JT’s ex-wife Victoria Newman to arrive so that they can talk to their son Reed Hellstrom about the changes in his life since the divorce. “Victoria should be here soon,” JT informs Mackenzie. “JT, I didn’t realize that Reed was starting to confuse me for his mother,” Mackenzie assures him, “I feel awful.” JT puts his hands out onto her shoulders. “I know. Look, this is no one’s fault,” he tells her, “We’re gonna get it all straightened out.” “But do you think Victoria can somehow use this against you… at the custody hearing?” Mackenzie asks, “By saying you were trying to influence Reed to side with you or something?” JT sighs. “I don’t even wanna think about the custody case right now,” he says, “It’s the last thing on my mind. I just wanna make sure Reed is clear that Victoria is still his mother, no matter where she lives or who I’m with.”
Just then, there’s a knock on the door. “That’s Victoria,” JT states. He walks over to the door and opens it to see Victoria Newman standing in the doorway.
Scene 4
Daniel Romalotti, Jr. is at the front door of the Newman Tack House after having found a photograph of Daisy that she uploaded onto his computer. He knocks twice, and then lets himself inside. “Oh, hi, Daniel!” Phyllis calls out, noticing the printed photo of Daisy that he’s holding in his hand, “Thank you!” “No problem,” Daniel replies. “You know, you didn’t have to come all the way over here,” Phyllis tells him, “You could have just sent the picture to me.” “I know, but you got me kind of curious about what’s goin’ on,” Daniel explains. He looks in the living room and sees Nick sitting down. “Look, after the pool party, someone decided to play a trick on me. A really dirty trick. When Nick and I got back, we found a dead eel in our bed.” Daniel is unsure of what to say. “That’s a snake-like kind-of-thing, isn’t it?” Daniel asks. “Yeah, slimy skin. Big sharp teeth. Black eyes,” Phyllis elaborates. “And you think it was Daisy?” Daniel infers. “Well, here’s the kicker: it was actually Summer, but acting on orders from someone who was hiding in our yard, manipulating our daughter to do what she wanted,” Phyllis explains, “But yes, we think that was Daisy.” “Wow,” Daniel responds. “Yeah, that was my reaction,” Phyllis tells him, “Except 100 times more intense than that.” “Knowing you, probably 1000 times more intense than that,” Daniel corrects her.
“Let’s get Supergirl down here,” Nick decides. “Summer, come down here for a minute, Sweetie!” Phyllis calls. Summer Newman comes running downstairs, holding her favorite doll. “Summer, look who’s all here!” Phyllis says, “Daniel. Say hello.” Summer greets him with a big hug. “Summer, we have a picture that we really need you to take a look at, okay?” Nick tells his daughter. Summer takes a seat on the couch.
Scene 5
Sharon is leaving the front counter of the Coffee House, pushing her daughter Faith in a stroller, when Neil Winters comes inside. “Hey, Stranger,” Sharon greets him. “Hey! Right back at ya,” Neil says. “How’s Lily doing?” Sharon asks, “She must be thrilled that the babies are almost here.” “Yeah, she is,” Neil says, “It’s just the…” “The situation with Cane,” Sharon understands. “That would be tough on anyone,” Neil says, “But after everything Lily went through, and now, with the babies on the way, it just makes it ten times harder. Plus, she’s so young… I mean, how much more suffering is she gonna have to go through?” “I know it doesn’t seem fair, but she’s got a guardian angel looking down on her,” Sharon tells Neil, “and Dru is gonna protect her and the twins.” “You know, I just told Lily the same thing when I saw her,” Neil informs Sharon, “about how proud her mother would be of her.” “And I know Dru would be ecstatic about the twins,” Sharon says. Neil smiles. “Yeah, she would. She really loved kids, you know,” he replies. “Is Lily up for visitors?” Sharon inquires, “I’ve been meaning to go see her, but I know she’s been needing to rest, so I didn’t want to bother her.” “No, that is a great idea. Sharon, please go see her when you can,” Neil replies, “I really want Lily to be around as many people as she can right now, especially her Mom’s best friend.” “Okay, I will,” Sharon agrees, “Well, I see Ashley’s waiting for you over there… I don’t wanna hold you up.” “It was really good seeing you, Sharon,” Neil tells her, “and listen, let’s get together for dinner soon, okay?” “Sure,” Sharon nods. “You’ve got a beautiful baby girl there,” Neil says as he’s about to walk over to Ashley, “I hope you know how lucky you are.” “I do,” Sharon nods, “I remember that every day.” “Okay, I’ll see you later,” Neil tells her. “Bye,” Sharon replies. She waves over at Ashley as she heads out the door with Faith.
Neil joins Ashley at a table. “Well, hello!” Ashley greets him, “I’ve been waiting for you.” “Hopefully not for too long. I just brought Lily some food,” he tells her, “I want to make sure she’s keeping her strength up.” “Ah, that’s sweet of you,” Ashley replies, “I’m sure she appreciates it.” “Yeah, can you imagine that? For once, she actually wants her father there to take care of her,” Neil says. Ashley smiles. “You are such a generous man,” she compliments him, “You are always thinking of other people. Always letting others lean on you… which is why I kind of feel bad.” “Why do you feel bad?” Neil inquires. “Because that’s why I called you here,” Ashley answers, “To lean on you some more. Neil, I really could use a friend right now…”
Scene 6
JT lets Victoria inside his apartment. Mackenzie is already there. “Buddy, come out here and say hi to Mommy!” JT calls. Reed Hellstrom comes out of his room. “Mommy! Mommy!” he shouts excitedly at the sight of Victoria. He runs into her arms.
“Buddy, have a seat for a second, alright?” JT instructs, “Now, I heard that you called Mackenzie your ‘Other Mommy’ today at the book store. Why would you say that?” He tries to be gentle and understanding. Reed looks at Mackenzie. “Well, when I live here with Daddy, you do all the things with me that I used to do with Mommy,” he explains, “So you’re like my Other Mommy.” “Okay, but I’m not your mother, Reed. You understand that, right?” Mackenzie asks. Reed nods his head. “And I am not trying to take her place,” Mackenzie continues, “I don’t want you to call me Mommy. You can just call me Mackenzie. Or Mac, if that’s easier.” “How come?” Reed asks. “Because Mackenzie didn’t give birth to you, Sweetie,” Victoria answers. Red turns back to Mackenzie. “So the babies in your tummy will call you Mommy?” Reed asks quietly. Mackenzie looks at JT for a moment. She’s caught off-guard, by the question, not sure how to answer. “No, um, they’ll call me Mackenzie too,” she tells him. “How come?” Reed asks. “That’s complicated,” JT jumps in, “It’s hard to explain, but Buddy, all you need to worry about is that you already have a Mommy and a Daddy who love you very much, and that’s never gonna change.” “But Daddy,” Reed protests, “How come you can stop loving Mommy but not me?”
Scene 7
Abby Carlton and Ryder Callahan continue to talk out on the patio of the Coffee House. “You don’t sound so sure about leaving town,” Abby observes. “It’s just best this way,” Ryder tells her. “Says who?” Abby questions, “Did my dad say something to you? Did he threaten you?” Ryder chooses his words carefully: “He made me see how it would be to my benefit to go elsewhere,” Ryder explains.
“Call him back. And tell him you’ve changed your mind,” Abby orders, “Call him.” “I can’t,” Ryder protests. “Well, you can’t let him win!” Abby argues. “Did you ever think maybe there’s more to it than that?” Ryder asks her, “That maybe I have to go… because I’m afraid of not being able to control myself if I’m constantly around you.” After that surprising revelation, Michael enters the Coffee House from the back door. He sees Abby and Ryder together.
Scene 8
At the Newman Tack House, Phyllis, Nick, and Daniel try to figure out who was responsible for the eel plot. “Right here,” Phyllis says, “Is this the lady that you talked to in the yard?” she asks Summer as she holds the picture of Daisy up in front of her. Daniel jumps in. “This girl, I know her. Her name is Daisy, and I really need to talk to her, okay?” he pleads with her, “So if you can help your big brother out, I would be really grateful.” “I can’t tell,” Summer replies softly. “You can’t tell, as in you’re sworn to secrecy?” Daniel asks, “Or you can’t tell if this person in the picture is the person you spoke to because this is a cra—bad picture?” “Her hair looks the same,” Summer replies, “but her face looked different. More like Mommy’s.” Phyllis’s stomach drops as she is reminded of the time that Sheila Carter got plastic surgery to look exactly like her. She exchanges a worried glance with Nick and Michael. “What does that mean: she had my face?” Phyllis asks, almost unable to speak. “Not your face, Silly,” Summer laughs, “But that’s why I talked to her. She reminded me of you, Mommy…”
Scene 9
At JT’s apartment, JT and Victoria continue to talk to Reed about their divorce. Mackenzie is also present.“Just because your mom and I don’t live together anymore doesn’t mean that I don’t still care about her very much,” JT says in response to Reed’s earlier question. “And I will always care about your Daddy,” Victoria adds. “But what’s going on with Mommy and Daddy, that’s grown-up stuff,” JT continues, “That has nothing to do with you.” “Is there anything else that you wanna ask us about?” Victoria inquires. “Um, can I go play with my trucks now?” Reed asks. JT and Victoria both smile. “Yes, yes, you can go play with your trucks,” JT answers.
“Actually, um, would it be okay if Reed stayed with me tonight?” Victoria asks out of nowhere, “Please… I won’t make a habit of it.” “How would you like that, Buddy?” JT asks Reed, “to stay at Mommy’s tonight?” “Yeah!” Reed answers enthusiastically. “Yeah, okay,” JT agrees, “But just this once.” Victoria is slightly annoyed that she needs JT’s permission, but she’s pleased with the result.
Scene 10
A few moments of silence have gone by at the Newman Tack House after Summer revealed that the lady reminded her of Phyllis. “Am I in trouble?” Summer asks softly. “No, sweetie, you’re not in trouble,” Phyllis assures her, “But you have to remember not to talk to strangers. No matter who you think they remind you of.” “And if you ever see someone that you don’t know in the yard, make sure you come and get us right away,” Nick instructs, “And even if you’re not sure. You know, someone might look like they work here on the Ranch, but if you’re not sure, you still tell us. It’s better to be safe than sorry, okay?” Summer nods and smiles. “Okay, then, why don’t you grab your dolly and go on back upstairs, okay, Supergirl?” Phyllis says. Summer runs off smiling.
Silence again. “Um, I’m gonna go for a walk,” Daniel announces, “and give you two some time alone.” “Thanks for your help,” Phyllis says with appreciation, as she gives him a hug. “Yeah, no problem,” Daniel replies, “I hope you find this creep.” “Me too,” Phyllis says. “See you, Bud,” Nick calls from the couch as Daniel heads out the door.
Phyllis rejoins Nick on the couch. She’s shaking. “Whoever this woman is, she used my daughter to get to me. She used my daughter,” Phyllis repeats. “We’re gonna get to the bottom of it,” Nick assures her, “I promise you.” “All I can think about is Patty poisoning our daughter with peanuts, and how we almost lost her,” Phyllis cries, “I can’t go through something like that again, Nick. I can’t go through that; I can’t.” Nick consoles her as she cries on his shoulder.
Scene 11
At the Coffee House, Michael walks over to Abby and Ryder. “Well, I see what Victor and Phyllis meant when they said they confronted you,” Michael observes his bruised face. “I didn’t do anything to Phyllis,” Ryder defends himself again. “I didn’t say that you did,” Michael replies, “but for your sake, I really hope that you didn’t.” “Come on, Ryder,” Abby says, “Let’s go. We don’t have to listen to this…” “Oh, don’t leave on my account,” Michael responds, “I’m going inside.”
Michael leaves them. “You see, this is what I’m sick of,” Ryder tells Abby. “If you let them chase you out of town, then they win,” Abby explains to him, “Is that what you want? You have just as much right to be here as anyone else… so call my dad and tell him where to stick his offer.” “Okay,” Ryder agrees, “Okay, I’ll do it.” He takes out a piece of paper from his pocket. He had written Victor’s number down on it. He dials the number. “Victor Newman,” Victor answers the call. “Mr. Newman, um, hi, this is Ryder,” he begins, nervously. “Get to the point!” Victor says harshly. “Look, I thought a lot about what you said, and your offer, and I’m sorry. But I’m turning it down. I like it here in Genoa City. And I’m gonna stick around.” “You made the wrong choice,” Victor responds in a threatening tone, “Don’t ever say I didn’t give you a chance to settle this peacefully.” He hangs up, furious.
Scene 12
It’s now evening time. Not dark yet, but the sun is starting to go down. Daniel is standing in a secluded area of the Newman Ranch yard. He hears someone approaching from behind. He turns around and sees Sharon pushing her young daughter Faith in the stroller. She leaves the stroller on the path and tip-toes a few steps over to Daniel. “I have to be quiet,” she whispers, as she looks back at the stroller, “Faith is sleeping.” “I won’t wake her,” Daniel whispers back. They start out across the yard for a few moments. “I just love this place, don’t you?” Sharon breaks the silence, talking softly, “It’s so beautiful and peaceful; the view of the gardens… it always helps me to clear my head when I come out here.” “I wish I could say the same for me,” Daniel says. “A lot going on?” Sharon asks.
“I’m just… thinkin’ about some stuff,” Daniel answers vaguely. “Well, do you wanna be alone?” Sharon asks sympathetically, “Because we can go someplace else…” “No. No, you don’t have to do that,” Daniel insists, “Besides… you’re the one who lives here. Not me.” “Actually, I’m glad that I ran into you,” Sharon expresses, “because I wanted to apologize again for what I said to you at the pool party, about having children… It was just very… inconsiderate of me, given the circumstances, and I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable.” Daniel looks down at the ground instead of making eye-contact with Sharon. “Thanks,” he replies quietly, “Um, you know, you don’t have to say ‘circumstances.’ You can say the d-word… Actually, I just got the divorce papers from Amber today.” “Oh… I’m so sorry,” Sharon offers, “You know, ending a marriage can be one of the most difficult things you ever have to go through in life. No matter why it ended or who decided to end it, it’s always sad to see it go.” Daniel nods. He understands exactly what Sharon is saying. “You know, just because you put your name down on that line,” he reflects, “it doesn’t mean that once you sign the paper, that your feelings for the other person automatically go away. Signing my name was the easy part. Now, it’s learning to live without Amber -- that’s the hard part.” “But it can also teach you things about yourself that you never knew… like how strong you are,” Sharon explains, “For me, I’m learning how to be independent and stand on my own two feet. And just knowing that I don’t need to run to Nick or Jack for every little thing, that’s something I’ve never felt before. And when you find that feeling and realize that you’re gonna be okay, that’s the most rewarding feeling in the world.”
Scene 13
At the Coffee House, Ashley confides in Neil about Abby’s interest in Ryder and her concerns about her liking an older man. “It’s just, Ryder is bad news, I’m telling you,” Ashley says, “and I don’t know why Abby can’t see that.” “Maybe she’s like her mother,” Neil suggests, “she wants to see the good in people.” “But feeling sympathy for someone is totally different from wanting to date them and forgetting about or ignoring all the horrible things that they’ve done,” Ashley explains. “Teen girls, they seem to always like the ‘bad boys,’ don’t they?” Neil realizes. “Yeah. When I was married to Brad, we went through that with Colleen, when she was dating JT,” Ashley recalls. “You know, Lily kind of went through the same thing when she was a little younger than Abby,” Neil informs her. “With Kevin, right?” Ashley remembers. “Yeah, Ryder’s older brother,” Neil answers. Ashley suddenly has an idea: “I know it might be difficult for her, but maybe Lily could talk to Abby,” she suggests, “Let her know first-hand what she could be getting herself into. You know, maybe hearing it from a peer, especially Colleen’s best friend, would make Abby take this thing a lot more seriously.” “Yeah, I can speak to Lily about that,” Neil agrees, “and we can set something up so that it doesn’t look like we interfered.” “Thanks for being there for me,” Ashley says sincerely. “Hey, just because we’ve decided to only be friends doesn’t mean that I don’t care about you still,” Neil assures her, “I want you to remember that. Anytime you need anything, day or night, you can still come to me.”
Scene 14
JT and Mackenzie are alone in JT’s new apartment. “Well, it looks like we got the whole place to ourselves,” JT realizes. “That went well, I think,” Mackenzie says about their earlier talk with Reed. “Better than I was expecting anyway,” JT replies, “But only time will tell, I guess…. So what do you wanna do tonight?” “Actually, I’m just really… I’m exhausted,” Mackenzie tells him, “I’m sorry… I just would like to go home and get some rest.” “Well, in that case, why don’t you stay here tonight?” JT offers, “Stay here and let me take care of you…”
Scene 15
Victoria and Victor are in the living room of Victoria’s house, the former Caretaker’s Property on the Newman Ranch, discussing the custody case for Victoria’s son, Reed. “Sweetheart, I told you that I will handle the situation, alright?” Victor reassures her, “Just like I handled it when Nicholas was arrested for Adam’s murder; just like I’m handling the situation with Abby right now…” “What’s going on with Abby?” Victoria inquires. Victor regrets what he said. “Nevermind that, okay?” he tells her, “You just focus on Reed and leave everything else to me.” “Daddy, this is not a business deal we’re talking about,” Victoria reminds him, “This is my son’s future.” “I’m well aware of that, my Sweetheart,” Victor replies. “I don’t know what I’d do without him,” Victoria confesses, “And I’m so afraid of losing him. The situation has gone from bad to worse… you have no idea. Roseanne, the Guardian Ad Litem, I know she doesn’t like me, and Mackenzie, she’s driving me crazy…”
Reed comes downstairs and Victoria immediately stops talking. “Did you brush your teeth?” Victoria asks. Reed nods. “Okay, go get your PJs on, and Mommy will be upstairs in a few minutes to tuck you in, alright?” Victoria tells Reed. “You promised you’d tell me a bed-time story,” Reed reminds her. “That’s right! I did, didn’t I?” Victoria remembers, “Say good night to Grandpa and then I’ll be up soon.” “Bye, Grandpa,” Reed says to Victor. He gives him a hug. “Good night,” Victor tells Reed, “You sleep well… and be a good boy for your mother, okay?” “He always is,” Victoria says.
Scene 16
At the Newman Tack House, Nick continues to console Phyllis. “I can see that you’re really freaked out over this,” he realizes, “I’m sorry that I haven’t been there for you like I should be.” “I know… you have so much to catch up on at the office,” Phyllis understands, “You were away from work because Adam framed you for his murder, and now you have to make up for lost time.” “But that’s still not an excuse,” Nick apologizes, “I should be making up for lost time with you… and Summer. Then maybe none of this would’ve happened.” “Nick, don’t blame yourself,” Phyllis tells him, “I’m sure whoever’s responsible would have found a way to get to me still… with or without our daughter.” Nick sighs. “I really am sorry that you’ve been dealing with this alone,” he repeats. “Well, I haven’t been alone. I had Michael,” Phyllis tries to downplay the situation. “And I’m very grateful to him,” Nick responds, “but he is not your husband. I am. And I promise that from now on, you and Summer will be my first priority.”
Scene 17
On the grounds of the Ranch, Daniel and Sharon continue to talk. Faith starts crying again. Sharon picks her up. “Hey, hey, hey. It’s okay. I got you,” she says, trying to comfort her daughter, “It’s okay, Mommy’s here. Everything’s okay.” Sharon rocks her back and forth and she quiets down. “Wow, you, uh, really know what you’re doin’,” Daniel compliments her. “Years of practice,” Sharon replies. “Yeah, I can see that,” Daniel comments. “Do you wanna hold her?” Sharon asks him. “No… I probably shouldn’t,” Daniel replies. “Go on,” Sharon offers again, “I don’t mind.” “Okay,” Daniel agrees. Sharon holds Faith while Daniel takes her in his arms. “Hello, there, Baby Girl,” he says softly. Faith smiles at him and
“She likes you,” Sharon observes, “I’ve never seen her warm up to someone so fast.” “I like kids… I love kids,” Daniel tells her, “It’s just, I think it’s the responsibility of knowing you’re in charge of another person’s life. I don’t think I could handle it, when sometimes, I feel like I can’t even take care of myself.” “Well, there’s no rush,” Sharon responds, “If you’re not ready for it, you’re not ready for it.” “At least you can understand that,” Daniel says. “I totally understand that… You know, I’m actually, I’m really envious of you in a lot of ways,” Sharon confides, much to Daniel’s surprise. “Oh yeah?” he replies, “What do you envy about me? I’m divorced, have no steady job… I’m practically broke…” “You get to do something you love, and you don’t have to worry about taking care of someone else. No responsibilities. A lot of kids these days… they try to grow up too fast. Like me. I was like that. But you’re not. And don’t ever let anyone try to change that about you.” “Thanks,” Daniel says sincerely. He passes Faith back to Sharon, who puts her back in the stroller. “You know, if there was one good thing about Nick and Phyllis, um, you know, it’s that Noah got you as a big brother,” Sharon informs Daniel, “You’ve helped him so much over the years, and the reason that he’s so good with Summer… and Faith, it’s because of what you taught him.” “Thanks again,” Daniel says, smiling a little, “I don’t feel like such a failure anymore.” “You’re not a failure,” Sharon assure him, “Don’t ever think that about yourself.”
Scene 18
At the Coffee House, Ryder has just finishes calling Victor and telling him that he’s not leaving town. Abby is pleased. “There, done,” Ryder announces. “Doesn’t it feel good to stand up for yourself?” Abby asks. “Yeah… yeah, it does,” Ryder agrees, “although your father wasn’t too happy.” “He can get over it,” Abby replies with attitude. “I let Daisy and Sarah control me my whole life,” Ryder realizes, “I am finally free of them, so you’re right… why should I let your father control me now. Or anyone else, for that matter. “Good!” Abby encourages him. “For once, I’m gonna do what I wanna do,” Ryder continues. “And what is it that you wanna do?” Abby inquires. “This…,” Ryder replies, as he unexpectedly puts his hands on Abby’s cheeks and kisses her on the lips. Abby is caught off-guard, but has no problems kissing him back.
Scene 19
Michael approaches Neil and Ashley’s table. “Michael,” Neil greets him. “Hi, I’m sorry to interrupt,” Michael begins, but, um, Ashley… are you aware of where your daughter is right now?” Ashley looks confused. “She’s supposed to be at home. Grounded,” Ashley replies, realizing that’s probably not the case, “That’s where she better be.” “You may want to try the patio,” Michael suggests, “And be warned -- she’s with a certain someone.” “Don’t tell me,” Ashley knows it’s Ryder. “Yes. My half-brother’s half-brother,” Michael confirms. “Thank you for telling me,” Ashley says. “Well, I knew Victor wouldn’t be happy if he knew,” Michael justifies his decision. “Believe me, I’m not happy about any of this either,” Ashley responds, as she darts up from the table and storms out to the patio.
Meanwhile, Ryder and Abby are still kissing on the patio until someone interrupts them. “Excuse me! What is going on here?” a voice calls out. Ryder and Abby stop kissing and look over at the patio door to see Ashley and Neil standing there. “Mom!” Abby screams, embarrassed, “What are you doing here?” “Having a cup of coffee!” Ashley replies harshly, “What are you doing here? You’re supposed to be at home!” “I got bored!” Abby snaps.
“Abigail Carlton, you march your little butt into the car. Right now!” Ashley orders, “You are so grounded. Again. On top of your other grounding.” Abby turns to Ryder. “I’ll see you when I get out,” she jokes. “Yeah,” Ryder nods. “Not likely,” Ashley snaps, “You’ll both be old and gray by then.” Ashley turns to Neil. “I’m sorry, but I have to take care of this,” she says. “Yeah, I totally understand,” Neil tells her. “Thanks,” Ashley says, before turning to Ryder, “And you, I’m not finished with you yet either.” She gives him a warning before she leaves the Coffee House with her daughter who is in big, big trouble…
Scene 20
In Reed’s bedroom at the former caretaker’s mansion on the Newman Ranch, Victoria lays in bed with Reed, who is cuddling up against her. “Now, Mommy’s gonna tell you a story,” she begins, “all about a king and queen, and their beautiful, sweet prince… and a wicked witch, who stole the king and wanted the prince all to herself too…”
Next Time on The Young and The Restless
Lauren Fenmore Baldwin meets with Billy Abbott at the Restless Style building. “I would be willing to re-advertise in Restless Style if my son worked here,” she announces.
Paul Williams, Michael Baldwin, and Lauren eat lunch at the Athletic Club. Paul has just informed them that his son Ricky is returning to Genoa City. “So the kid whose childhood I helped ruin is coming back?” Michael realizes.
At the airport, Jack Abbott has just met up with his estranged son Kyle Abbott and Kyle’s mother Diane Jenkins. “I’m glad you’re here for a visit,” Jack says sincerely. “As if I had a choice,” Kyle snaps back.

TEENS OF GENOA CITY PROMO

[Fictional] Casting News:
ASHLEY BENSON takes over the role of ABBY CARLTON, the spoiled young daughter of Victor Newman and Ashley Abbott. At age 17, Abby feels she’s already grown up and wants others to treat her like an adult. She wants nothing more than to break away from her parents and catch the attention of the older Ryder Callahan. Her actions to do so may have some unintended (and intended) consequences along the way.
DAVID HENRIE joins the cast of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS in the role of RICARDO “RICKY” WILLIAMS, the long-absent son of detective Paul Williams and his crazed ex-wife Isabella Brana, who is currently institutionalized. Ricky grew up in Los Angeles with his grandparents, unaware of how his parents got together and why neither of them has been involved in his upbringing. Easily influenced and wanting to fit in, Ricky becomes friends with rebellious Kyle Abbott and a girl named “Sully,” both of whom Paul considers bad influences.
JEREMY SUMPTER joins the cast of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS in the role of KYLE ABBOTT, the wild and wayward son of Jack Abbott and Diane Jenkins. With All-American good looks, money, and girls, Kyle appears to have everything a teenager could want, but he still craves the attention from his father that he missed while growing up. Kyle becomes fast friends with Ricky Williams who also grew up without his father in his life, and along with a classmate named “Sully,” they cause havoc around Genoa City, especially for Noah Newman.
JORDAN MONAGHAN joins the cast of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS in the role of “SULLY,” the troubled classmate and friend of Kyle Abbott and Ricky Williams. Though she’s new to Genoa City, Sully’s reputation is already well-known. She proudly boasts that she’s been kicked out of several schools. But there may be more to Sully than the defiant persona she puts on.
Look for the debuts of Kyle Jenkins Abbott and Ricky Abbott next week on Y&R Alternate Reality Story!

Scene 1
At the Newman Tack House, Nicholas Newman and his father Victor Newman wait for Nick’s wife Phyllis Summers Newman to come home. The front door swings open and Phyllis rushes inside. “I got here as soon as I could,” she announces, “Did you talk to Summer? What did she say?” “Yeah, I talked to her about what happened,” Nick updates her, “and you’re not gonna believe what she had to say…”
Scene 2
There’s a knock at the door of Daniel Romalotti Jr.’s artist studio. Daniel answers it and sees his estranged wife Amber Moore Romalotti standing there. “Amber…I figured you’d stop by,” Daniel musters, not sure what to say. “Can I come in?” she requests. “Yeah… sure. Of course,” Daniel says as he motions inside, “Come in.” “I’m sorry. I can’t really stay long,” Amber announces as she comes inside, “I promised Mrs. C. I’d go see her before my flight leaves.” “When’s that?” Daniel inquires. “A couple hours,” Amber states. “You couldn’t even stay for a day?” Daniel replies. “Well, I have a job now. That I have to keep so that I can provide for Eric,” Amber answers. “Eric, yeah… how’s he doing?” Daniel asks, somewhat genuinely. “He’s good,” Amber replies vaguely, “He’s doing as well as can be expected, I guess.” Daniel nods his head. “Okay, well, that’s good,” he says, “I’m glad to hear that.”
Amber takes a seat on the foot of the bed and looks around. “You know, hearing all those stories about Jana made me think of all the good times we had together too,” she admits. Daniel sits down beside her. “What’re you saying?” he asks, “That you think we should give it one more go?” “I think that ship has sailed. We both know that,” Amber replies, “I mean, we’re worlds apart now – literally… I’m in LA, you’re in Genoa City. And Daniel, we were still worlds apart when we were married... That’s actually why I’m here… so that we can officially go our separate ways.”
Scene 3
Neil Winters is at the Athletic Club picking up take-out food. Alex Perez happens to be walking downstairs when she sees him. She quickly makes her way over to Neil. “You were right,” Alex begins, “about Malcolm. He wanted nothing to do with me.” “Wait a minute! That’s what he said to you?” Neil asks. “Not in those exact words,” Alex replies, “but the way he was acting towards me, he couldn’t care less if he ever saw me again.” She becomes teary-eyed. “Oh, Alex, Alex, Alex,” Neil says as he hugs her, “I’m sorry you were hurt. I wish there was a way I could have spared you.” “No, it was my own fault, Neil. I should have listened to you,” Alex admits, “I should have realized too much time had gone by. Now, we’re just too different to ever be able to recapture what we once had.”
Scene 4
Abby Carlton enters Crimson Lights Coffee House through the back door and sees Ryder Callahan out on the patio wiping off a table. He looks up at her and she sees the marks left behind from his encounters with Phyllis and Victor. “What happened to your face!?” Abby reacts at the sight of his black eye and red cheek. “Oh, it was ‘Beat Up on Ryder Day’ for your family,” he jokes. “Who did it? My parents?” Abby inquires. Ryder points to his eye: “This one was your dad,” he says, as he moves his hand over his cheek, “and this one was your aunt.” “Who?” Abby asks, confused. “Phyllis,” Ryder clarifies. “Why did Phyllis come after you?” Abby wonders. “She thinks I did something to her, but I swear I didn’t,” Ryder replies, “I swear I didn’t.” “I believe you,” Abby tells him, “Oh, and Phyllis isn’t my aunt,” Abby corrects him, “She used to be my aunt when she was married to Jack. Now, she’s my sister-in-law. I told you my family was screwed up.” “All families are,” Ryder answers. “Not like mine,” Abby insists, “Especially not like my parents.”
Scene 5
Lily Winters Ashby is alone in her house, holding up an ultrasound photo of the twins. She puts the picture down and then picks a photograph of her wedding with Ethan ‘Cane’ Ashby. She smiles and moves her hand to gently stroke Cane’s face in the picture. “How do I do this without you?” she asks aloud, softly. Suddenly, her dog Humphrey runs into the room and Lily’s smile becomes even wider.
She picks Humphrey up and cuddles with him for a few moments. “Oh, Humphrey, come here,” she says quietly, “You know, if it weren’t for you, I would be all alone right now. Yes, I would.” Suddenly, the door bell rings. “Or maybe not…,” Lily says aloud when she realizes there’s a visitor. She stands up, still holding Humphrey. “You wanna go see who’s at the door?” she asks her dog, “Let’s go see who that is. Come on.” Lily opens up the door and sees her father Neil standing in the doorway.
Scene 6
Daniel and Amber continue to talk at Daniel’s artist studio. Amber removes a document from her purse. “Divorce papers?” Daniel asks, already knowing the answer. “Yeah, I mean, we gotta make it official eventually, right?” Amber replies softly. “What did you put as the reason?” Daniel inquires. “Irreconcilable differences,” Amber informs him. Daniel nods. “That’s good. ‘Cause there’s no one to blame here,” he says, “We just had different goals in life.” “Yeah… I guess so,” Amber agrees. “Come on, let’s look on the bright side,” Daniel tries to stay optimistic, “We don’t hate each other. I mean, my last marriage, when Lily and I got divorced, she couldn’t stand the sight of me.” “And when Cane and I got divorced, or whatever we did since we weren’t really married anyway, he thought I was the scum of the Earth,” Amber recalls. “I would never think that about you,” Daniel tells her, “I want nothing but the best for you, Amber, you know that, right?” “Yes,” Amber nods. She starts to get teary-eyed. “Hey, no tears, okay? Daniel says softly as he wipes her eyes, “Now, I’m gonna sign these papers, but I don’t want you to leave here all sad and crying. You promise me, that you’ll hold your head up and you leave here with a smile. Don’t think of what you’re leaving behind; think of Eric and think of your new life in California. Your new job and all the things you’ve got going for you in your life. Because you’re too pretty to be crying, and I’m too much of a jerk to be worth any of your tears…” “You’re not a jerk,” Amber denies, “It’s like you said… we had different goals.” “But I could have been a little nicer about it, or more understanding about your dreams,” Daniel admits, “Some days, you just drove me so crazy, though. But… I shouldn’t have snapped at you.” Amber manages a slight smile. “I’m not mad at you,” she replies. Daniel looks down at the divorce papers in his hand. “You got a pen?” he asks. “Sure, yeah, here,” Amber says, as she hands it to him. Daniel turns the page and signs his name on the indicated line. “No regrets?” he asks as he hands Amber the paper and pen. “No regrets,” Amber whispers.
Scene 7
Abby and Ryder continue their conversation on the patio of the Coffee House. “Your parents,” Ryder begins, “I’m surprised they didn’t ground you yet.” Abby smirks. “Yeah, the funny thing about grounding someone is, you have to be at home to watch them. I mean, they can take my phone and my keys, but they can’t lock me up.” “No, then you need to go home, Abby!” Ryder orders, “I don’t want to cause any more trouble for you.” “You’re not,” Abby assures him, “I was the one who decided to leave.” “Yeah, well, I was the one who told you to come over here,” Ryder reminds her, “So now, I’m telling you to go home.” “Why do you wanna get rid of me all of a sudden?” Abby asks.
“Because who do you think is gonna get blamed when your parents realize you left home? Me. And I am just so sick of being accused of everything that goes wrong with your family,” Ryder breaks down, his eyes starting to tear up, “I was a good kid! I got caught up in something way over my head; I thought that showing family loyalty to Sarah and Daisy would make them accept me -- treat me like an equal, but they threw me under the bus every chance they got. They didn’t care about me. They just wanted to use me. And time and time again, I had to take the blame for everything that they did. I’m not gonna go through that again. I won’t.”
Scene 8
Nick updates Phyllis on what their daughter Summer had told him. Victor is still present. “So apparently, this lady had been lurking around the Tack House for a while, talking to Summer every chance she got,” Nick reveals. Phyllis looks frightened and furious at the same time. “How did we not know about this, Nick?” she reacts, “How were we not watching her?” “We just didn’t expect something like this to happen,” Nick replies. Phyllis starts to think: “How many times has it happened where, it’s a nice day and Summer wants to go take her dolls and play out in the yard?” she begins, “And we would say, ‘Sure.’ ‘Of course.’ I mean, it was just our yard and how many security guards are there roaming the property?” “Apparently, not enough,” Victor responds, “I’ll have them double the frequency of patrols immediately.” “I already called, and chewed them out,” Nick tells his father. “Yeah… they’re lucky I don’t fire the whole lot of ‘em,” Victor adds.
“What else did Summer say about this lady?” Phyllis asks, getting them back on-track, “Does she know her name?” “No, but apparently she had red hair. She told Summer not to say anything about her being there, that it would be their secret… and…” Phyllis cuts him off. “This is just sick,” she responds. “Yeah, and it gets worse,” Nick warns her, “I guess she had given Summer pretty detailed instructions about what to do with the eel. She left it on the window sill. After we went outside, Summer had to run back inside to get her doll. She would open the window, grab the eel, put it in our bed, wash her hands, grab her doll, and then run back out to us without ever letting us know. “That’s so twisted,” Phyllis utters. “Indeed,” Victor agrees, “Very twisted.”
Scene 9
There’s a loud knock on Malcolm Winters’s door. Malcolm is sitting at his desk, looking at his photography work in the latest issue of Restless Style. “Coming!” Malcolm shouts as he gets up from his desk. The knocking continues. Malcolm opens the door and sees his half-brother Neil standing at the door. Neil barges into the suite. “Please, come in,” Malcolm utters sarcastically, after Neil is already inside. “How could you be so cruel to her?” Neil lectures. “Yeah, of course you would stick up for her,” Malcolm replies. “Do you have any idea how this woman grieved for you?” Neil shouts, “Any idea what she went through after she thought you were dead? My God, Malcolm. You were in love with this woman. Can’t you show her just a little compassion?”
Scene 10
Daniel and Amber continue to reach closure at Daniel’s artist studio. “Um… you were a good husband,” Amber offers. “Thanks… I tried,” Daniel replies, “Hey, and I think you were a good wife.” “I’ll miss you,” Amber says. “Promise me you’ll keep in touch,” Daniel says. Amber nods. “Yeah, you too,” Amber tells him, “I wanna hear all about how your art’s coming along and when you get a new girlfriend, cause I know you will, I wanna talk to her first, make sure she’s good enough for you.” Amber and Daniel both laugh a little bit. “I’ll never find anyone like you again,” Daniel admits, “That’s for sure.” “I bet your mom’s happy about that,” Amber jokes, “Tell her I said hi.” Daniel smirks again. “I’m sure she’ll love that,” he replies sarcastically. “Well, I guess I better go,” Amber announces, “Bye.” She walks towards the door. “Bye,” Daniel says so softly that it’s like he’s just mouthing the words. Amber looks back once at Daniel before she heads out the door.
Scene 11
Lily lets Neil inside. “Hi, Dad,” she says. “Hi, Sweetheart,” Neil calls her, “You look lovely today. Really.” “Thank you,” Lily replies, letting a tiny smile show. “Are you hungry?” Neil asks, “I brought you some food from the Athletic Club.” “Oh, thanks. I’m not really hungry right now,” Lily tells him, “But I’ll put it in the fridge for later.” She walks over to the kitchen. “You know, I’ve been meaning to stop by earlier,” Neil admits, “but with Katherine just regaining control of Chancellor, it’s been a bit hectic. I wanna apologize, though, because I hate to think of you being all alone here. It won’t happen anymore.” “Dad, it’s okay,” Lily tells him, “I’ve had Humphrey to keep me company. Actually, before you got here, I was just telling him how much I appreciate having him around.” “That’s great,” Neil replies, “but listen, Lily, you just beat cancer. I know it’s important for you to rest and get your strength back up, but maybe you should try to get out of the house a bit more often.” “I take Humphrey everyday,” Lily counters. “I know, but I’m talking about being out, you know, with your family. We should do something. Go to dinner one night, or go see a movie,” Neil suggests, “Or you could go with Devon and Roxy, if you want… I just think, you should try to find something to give you a change of scenery.” “I should be with my husband,” Lily states, “but it doesn’t look like that’s gonna happen.”
Scene 12
At the Chancellor Estate, Amber is visiting her good friend Katherine Chancellor Murphy before her flight leaves for Los Angeles. They are talking in the living room. “So… it’s officially over between me and Daniel,” Amber announces, “I brought him divorce papers today.” “Oh, my darling, I’m so sorry it didn’t work out,” Katherine expresses, “I wish there was something I could say or do to help you.” “It just seems so final now,” Amber confides, “I mean, we knew it had to happen eventually. We’ve been living apart, we barely talked, but I guess because we were still technically married, I always thought, or there was this small part of me that still hoped, that we would be able to work things out. Now, that small glimmer of hope, it’s gone.”
Scene 13
Malcolm is in the hall of the Athletic Club, about to return to his suite. Alex enters the same hallway and sees Malcolm. “Malcolm!” she calls out. Malcolm turns to face her. “I guess we’re gonna be runnin’ into each other a lot, huh?” he says. “Well, we’re neighbors,” Alex states, “Whaddyou expect?” “I don’t know what I expect,” Malcolm admits, “I sure didn’t expect you to be back in town after all these years.” “And I didn’t expect you to turn up alive after believing you were dead for eight years. So now that we’ve established our expectations weren’t realistic, let’s deal with the situation as best as we can.” “The situation?” Malcolm asks. “Both of us being in Genoa City, and staying next door to each other,” Alex clarifies, “I mean, is this how it’s gonna be between us all the time? I even say hi to you and all I get in return is attitude. Malcolm, can’t we at least find a way be cordial to one another?” Malcolm takes a deep breath. “Look, you’re right. I’m sorry,” he admits, “It’s just the circumstances were freakin’ me out a little bit. That’s all. And if it seems like I’ve been taking it out on you… no, I have been taking it out on you, and that’s not right of me.” “Thank you for realizing that,” Alex says, “So where do we go from here?” “You go in your room,” Malcolm answers, “I go in mine.” “Wait… please… come in and talk,” Alex requests, “Please.” “Alex, there’s nothing to talk about,” Malcolm insists. “Not about us,” Alex clarifies, “Just about you. I still wanna hear about what you’ve been up to. I wanna hear about Nate, Olivia.” Neil’s words briefly echo through Malcolm’s head. “Yeah, alright,” Malcolm agrees.
Scene 14
At the Ashby Residence, Neil and Lily continue their conversation. “Lily…,” Neil tries to comfort his daughter after she admits to missing Cane. “Dad, if having cancer taught me one thing, it’s to cherish every moment like it’s my last,” Lily tells him, “and yes, I am so thankful for all the wonderful times I’ve spent with Cane. But now that the twins are coming, and I’ve survived the cancer, these are the days that I should be with Cane, making new memories. I mean, my last memory of him is not gonna be him getting on a plane. He should be here, with me and our children.” “And he will be,” Neil says confidently, “It’s just… it’s a complicated case. Things would be a whole lot easier if Cane hadn’t used Phillip’s social security number. But he did, and we’re trying to deal with it as best as we can. You know Michael is an excellent attorney.”
“I know. It’s just that, one minute, we didn’t know if I was gonna be here to see the twins take their first breath,” Lily vents, “and I had to count on Cane to be there for our babies if I couldn’t be. Now, it’s reversed. Cane is the one who can’t be here, and I have to do this all by myself.” “No, no… you’re not gonna be by yourself,” Neil assures his daughter, “because I promise… I will be with you every step of the way. Anything you need, you just pick up the phone. And when the twins are born, I can stay with you for as long as you like.”
Scene 15
Amber and Katherine are sitting on Katherine’s couch in the living room of the Chancellor Estate. Amber is crying about her impending divorce. “Daniel, he told me not to cry, and look at me,” Amber weeps, her makeup running all over her face. “You just let it all out,” Katherine comforts her as they hug. “I just really wanted him to come to California,” Amber cries. “I know you did,” Katherine says in a soothing voice, “I know you did…”
Scene 16
Meanwhile, on the patio of the Coffee House, Abby reacts to Ryder’s breakdown. “Wow, I had no idea how rough all of this was on you,” she realizes. She puts a hand on his shoulder. Ryder wipes his eyes. He keeps his head down and doesn’t say anything. “You know many people are jealous of me because I’m a Newman. And an Abbott?” she continues, “Everywhere I go, there are always people whispering behind my back. ‘There goes that spoiled rich girl.’ I just learn to live with it. You can’t let the haters get to you.” “I wish I was as strong as you are,” Ryder mutters, sounding defeated. “You are,” Abby encourages him, “As long as we have each other, then what our families think of us doesn’t matter.” “See, this is why I like you so much,” Ryder tells her, “Because you’re not like other girls your age. You are wise beyond your years.” “So you feel better then?” Abby asks. “A little… but now, that just makes it even harder,” Ryder says cryptically. “Makes what harder?” Abby asks. “Why I came here… I’m here to say goodbye,” Ryder states. “What are you talking about?” Abby shouts, taken aback. “I’m leaving town,” Ryder answers, “Tonight.” “No, you can’t!” Abby protests. “Abby, you can’t talk me out of it,” Ryder tells her, “so please… don’t even try.”
Scene 17
Phyllis, Nick, and Victor continue speculating who could have been responsible for orchestrating the eel plot. “So we know that… it wasn’t Ryder,” Phyllis realizes. “But it could have been his sister, Daisy,” Nick suggests. “That’s exactly what I’m thinking,” Phyllis agrees, “Summer said the lady had red hair. Daisy has red hair. They could still be in on it together.” “First, let’s find out from Summer if Daisy was the one who she talked to out in the yard,” Victor instructs. “Um, I’m gonna call Daniel and see if he has any photos of Daisy that he could send over,” Phyllis suggests, “He helped her with her photography projects a couple times…”
She picks up the phone and dials Daniel’s number. He answers. “Hey… mom, What’s up?” Daniel asks. “Hi, Daniel. Listen, this is gonna sound like a strange request, but it’s extremely important,” Phyllis begins. “Alright. Lay it on me,” Daniel replies. “Sweetie, do you have any pictures of Daisy lying around anywhere? On your computer, maybe?” “You know what?... Probably,” Daniel answers, “She uploaded some pics onto my laptop before. I think the folder’s still there.” “Well, can you please check?” Phyllis requests, “This is so important right now, you have no idea.” “Yeah… what’s this about anyway?” Daniel inquires. “I don’t have time to explain, but just please promise me that you’ll find me a picture of Daisy. Please promise me that.” “I will do my best,” Daniel tells her, trying to calm his mother down, “Now, let me get off the phone so I can go look.” “Okay,” Phyllis agrees, letting a faint smile show, “You go look… Call me.” “Yeah, bye,” Daniel says as he hangs up the phone.
Daniel goes over to his computer, sits down, and turns it down. “Okay, Daisy. Let’s see what you left for me…, ” he says aloud.
Scene 18
Alex and Malcolm talk in Alex’s Suite. “I can’t believe Nate’s all grown up,” Alex exclaims, “And a medical student… that’s great that he’s following in Olivia’s footsteps.” “I’m very proud of him,” Malcolm tells her. “Do you think he remembers me?” Alex asks. “Definitely,” Malcolm replies, “I mean… he doesn’t mention you or anything, but how could he not remember you? I was such a big part of his life back then, and…” “And I was a big part of your life,” Alex completes his thought. “Yeah,” Malcolm says. “Do you still see him often?” Alex follows up. “Honestly, not that much,” Malcolm admits, “I just didn’t want to disrupt his life all over again. And then once I got back into photography, I started traveling around the world again, you know, so I haven’t had much time available to visit him.” Alex has a realization: “Wait a minute, you let that boy go on believing you were dead too?” she asks. “Yeah, for a while,” Malcolm confesses, “I talked to Olivia about it, and we thought it would just confuse him at first.” “But still, I know how much you loved that boy,” Alex protests. “I still do!” Malcolm insists. “You just don’t love me anymore, is that it?” Alex fires back, hurt all over again. “Alex, come on. You told me we weren’t gonna rehash any of this!” Malcolm shouts. He gets up to leave. “Okay, you’re right! I’m sorry,” Alex apologizes, “That was my fault this time. Please stay… it won’t happen again. I promise.”
Scene 19
Neil and Lily continue to talk in the living room of the Ashby Residence. “Dad, you don’t have to do that,” Lily tells him gently, “You have a life, a job. I don’t want you to give that up for me.” “Hey, it’s what fathers do,” Neil insists, “It’s what grandfathers do… but you know what? Let me tell you something: Baby girl, I am so proud of you. And you know something else? Your mother is smiling down on you right now. I believe that.” “I wish she could be here to see the twins,” Lily replies softly, her eyes tearing up. “Of course, you do,” Neil says, “So do I… You know, I wish everyday that your mother was still with us.” “I know that,” Lily tells him, “Do you remember, when I was pregnant the first time, when I had the embryonic pregnancy, how Cane and I talked about… if it was a girl, naming her Drucilla?” “Yeah, I do,” Neil says with a smile. “It just seemed like such a fitting tribute,” Lily continues, “Um… I’m not sure if Cane would want me to say anything yet, but before he left, we were thinking of maybe naming our boy Drew, after Mom… I wanted to name our little girl after Colleen.” “That sounds wonderful,” Neil agrees, giving her a hug, “I know they would both love that.”
Scene 20
Daniel is at his computer searching through folders of digital camera pictures when he spots a photo featuring Daisy. It’s dark and she’s difficult to see, but it will do. “Okay, bingo,” Daniel says, as he prints off the photo, “Daisy, I don’t know what you’ve done now, but you’re going down…”
Suddenly, Daniel’s cell phone rings and he answers the call. “Hello,” Daniel says. It’s Katherine. “Daniel, this is Katherine Chancellor calling,” she begins, “Amber told me about the divorce.” “Look, Mrs. C, I appreciate you calling,” Daniel says, “but if you’re gonna try to get me to change my mind about Amber…” “On the contrary, my dear,” Katherine replies, “Look, not all marriages work out. You gave it your all and you found out that you two were looking for different things in life. You do your best to learn from your mistakes and hope that next time will be different, better.” “At this point, I don’t think there’ll even be a next time,” Daniel admits. Katherine chuckles. “Oh, no. You’re still so young. Believe me, they’ll be a next time and a next time and another next time, and so on,” she explains, “But darling, eventually, and take my word for it, because I know this better than anybody… eventually, you will get it right.” “Thanks for saying that,” Daniel expresses. “Sure,” Katherine responds, “That’s what step-grandmothers are for.” Daniel smirks. “That’s a good one,” he says, “I’ve never heard you use that term before.” “Well, it’s true, isn’t it?” Katherine asks him, “I mean, I was married to your grandfather, wasn’t I?” “You are the closest thing to a grandmother I have,” Daniel admits. “And you know what grandmothers are good for?” Katherine asks. “Cooking,” Daniel answers immediately. Katherine laughs. “Everyone always says cooking. And I can’t cook a damn meal to save my life,” she says, “No, grandmothers are good for giving hugs. Oh, if only I could send a hug through the phone… Daniel, I just want you to know how much I care about both you and Amber, and I’m here for you too if you ever need anything.”
Scene 21
Amber arrives at the Genoa City Airport, ready to board a flight to Los Angeles. She looks back one last time. Daniel told her not to cry, but her eyes are filled with tears. She knows that, this time, she’s leaving Genoa City and she won’t be back. For a very long time, if ever…
Next Time on The Young and The Restless
At the Newman Tack House, Phyllis Summers Newman, her husband Nicholas Newman, her father-in-law Victor Newman, and her son Daniel Romalotti, Jr. try to determine who was behind the eel plot. “Is this the lady that you talked to in the yard?” she asks Summer as she holds the picture of Daisy up in front of her.
JT Hellstrom, JT’s ex-wife Victoria Newman, and JT’s current girlfriend Mackenzie Browning are speaking to JT and Victoria’s young son, Reed Hellstrom, about the changes in his life since his parents divorced. “Buddy, all you need to worry about is that you already have a Mommy and a Daddy who love you very much, and that’s never gonna change,” JT insists. “But Daddy,” Reed protests, “How come you can stop loving Mommy but not me?”
By a garden on the Ranch grounds, Daniel speaks to Sharon Newman about his divorce from Amber Moore Romalotti. “Signing my name was the easy part,” he admits, “Now, it’s learning to live without Amber -- that’s the hard part.” “But it can also teach you things about yourself that you never knew… like how strong you are,” Sharon explains.

Scene 1
Paul Williams is dressed in old, ragged clothing. He’s painting the spare bedroom in his apartment navy blue. His daughter, Heather Stevens, enters the room, also dressed in old clothing. Paul is surprised to see her. “Heather, hi,” he greets her. “I just let myself in. I hope you don’t mind,” she says, “The front door was open.” “Oh, no, it’s fine,” Paul tells her. “So this is gonna be Ricky’s room?” Heather asks, looking around at the unfinished walls, “Yeah, if I can get it done in time. I need the paint to dry overnight so I can move the furniture in tomorrow morning.” “Well, you’re in luck,” Heather replies, “I’ve come to volunteer my services.” She picks up an extra paint brush from the paint tray.
Scene 2
Meanwhile, at the Abbott Manor, Jack Abbott is showing his brother Billy Abbott the bedroom that he had professionally redone for his troubled son Kyle, who is coming to visit for an undetermined period of time. “This was Noah’s room… when he lived here,” Jack states. “You’d never know,” Billy replies, looking at the generic-style bedroom, “Sorry, Jack. This room is boring.” “Boring?” Jack is surprised. “Yeah, boring. With a capital B,” Billy continues, “You want Kyle to be comfortable here, right?” “Of course, I do,” Jack answers, “I know it doesn’t look like much now, but once Kyle comes and brings some personal effects…” “He’s coming to visit, not move in,” Billy tells Jack, “You have to make it feel like a home. What you have here is not a teenager’s room, it’s what you’d find at the Athletic Club.” “Maybe you’re right,” Jack admits, “Heck, how am I supposed to decorate for Kyle? I’ve almost forgotten what a 17 year-old’s room looks like.” “Well, what’s his favorite TV show?” Billy asks. “I don’t know,” Jack admits. “What bands does he like?” Billy follows up, “What kind of music?” “I don’t know,” Jack admits again before having a realization, “God, I never realized it until now, but I know virtually nothing about my own son.” “Yeah, well, I’m sure when he gets here, you’ll learn things about him, you wish you didn’t know… In the meantime, I can improvise,” Billy says, “Never fear, because Cool Uncle Billy’s here, and I’m gonna turn this room in every 17 year-old boy’s dream room.”
Scene 3
At the apartment of Kevin Fisher and Jana Hawkes Fisher, Kevin, his mother Gloria Bardwell, his half-brother Michael Baldwin, his sister-in-law Lauren Fenmore Baldwin, and his friends Daniel Romalotti, Jr. and Amber Moore Romalotti continue telling Jana about her life in Genoa City. “When you were in prison, I proposed to you… on Thanksgiving,” Kevin informs her, “It took you a while to come around… you told me you didn’t want me to be tied down to someone who’d spend the rest of her life behind bars.” “Kevin… he campaigned really hard for you to be released from prison,” Michael adds, “He made posters and t-shirts and got a bunch of experts to testify that your tumor was behind all of your irrational behavior.” “Eventually, the DA’s office agreed and dropped the charges,” Daniel completes the story.
“And I wasn’t the only one who was willing to give you a chance to start over,” Kevin says, “Sabrina Newman, she gave you a job as her personal assistant for the Newmans’ modern art gallery.” “Sabrina Newman, Victoria Newman’s daughter?” Jana guesses. “No, his wife,” Kevin corrects her, “But she was closer to our age.” “I thought Victor was married to Nikki,” Jana says. “Yeah… the guy gets around a lot,” Daniel jokes. “Victor and Sabrina were newlyweds,” Michael clarifies to Jana. “You were her Maid of Honor,” Kevin tells Jana. “Sabrina’s actually the one who encouraged me to become an artist,” Daniel says. “Where is she… Sabrina?” Jana wonders, “Why isn’t she here?” “She’s dead,” Kevin states. “How?” Jana asks. “Just shortly after her wedding, she was… she got in a car accident. You were by her side in the hospital,” Kevin explains.
Kevin flashes back to the night of Sabrina’s death. He and Jana had gone to visit her at Memorial Hospital. Kevin had waited outside while Jana was in Sabrina’s room with Victor Newman. “Thank you… for letting me into your life,” Jana had said softly. “Thank… you,” Sabrina had whispered, weakly. Jana had leaned over and given her a kiss on the head. Then she left the room…
“That’s so tragic,” Jana comments, “She was so young. Sabrina… and Colleen. And Carmen… God, it’s like I’m bad luck or something. Why do all of women around me die before their time? It’s just… it’s not fair…”
Scene 4
At the Chancellor Estate, Katherine Chancellor Murphy is in the living room pouring a drink when Jill Abbott walks into the room. “You seem to be in a much better mood than you were earlier,” Katherine notices. “Don’t get me started,” Jill fires back. “Maybe not,” Katherine corrects herself. There are a few moments of silence. Katherine takes a drink and Jill sits down to read a book.
“So I take it you haven’t changed your mind?” Katherine suddenly asks. “About?” Jill questions. “Oh, for heaven’s sakes, Jill, you know what about,” Katherine snaps, “I thought you would be all over this chance to come back to Chancellor Industries.” “I would, if it wasn’t for her,” Jill admits, referring to Nikki, “You have always thought of her as a daughter. You’ve always treated her like a daughter. Even before we thought we were related. And then I thought that I had something that she didn’t. I was your daughter by blood, and blood was supposed to be thicker than water. ‘Cause we were family.” “We are family,” Katherine insists. “No, we’re like family,” Jill maintains, “But we’re not family, Katherine. Don’t you see? Now, I’m just like Nikki again… And if I have to work at Chancellor, I’m gonna be around her everyday, and I’ll be reminded of that fact. Constantly.”
Scene 5
Paul and Heather continue painting Ricky’s room. Paul puts his brush down for a moment. “This is nice, us spending some time together,” Paul tells his daughter, “I know I haven’t seen much of you lately.” Heather stops painting for a moment. “Well, I’ve been busy with work and you’ve been busy with Aunt Patty,” Heather justifies. “Yeah, she made a card... uh, for Ricky. You should see it,” Paul informs his daughter, “Hold on. I’ll be right back.” He leaves the room for a few moments and comes back with a piece of folded paper with crayon drawings on it. “Are your hands clean?” Paul asks to make sure she won’t get any paint on the card. He hands it to Heather who reads the writer aloud, “’Welcome home, Little Ricky. Love your Aunt Patty.’ Ah, wasn’t that nice of her? Are you gonna show it to him?” “Well, that’s complicated,” Paul answers, “If I don’t, it wouldn’t be because I’m embarrassed or ashamed of Patty.” “You just don’t want to add any stress to his visit,” Heather guesses. “Something like that,” Paul replies vaguely. Heather senses that he is leaving something out.
“But, you know, It’ll be nice to have someone else living here, though. Being in this empty apartment, I’ve been a little lonely since Maggie moved away… and Nikki left me, and now Nina’s been in Australia,” Paul continues, “Now, Ricky gives me something positive to focus on.” “Look at you changing the subject. You know, you don’t talk about Ricky that much,” Heather notices, “And when I first found out that you were my father, and you mentioned me having a little brother, I always thought it was odd that you barely ever had any contact with him. I’ve learned to stop asking questions and let it go… But I have to say, now you’ve got me wondering what the story is.” Paul decides to give her an honest answer: “Well, it’s a long and complicated story,” he tells his daughter, “but to sum it up in one word, the reason has to do with Ricky’s mother… Isabella.”
Scene 6
Kevin continues to tell Jana details of her life while Gloria, Michael, Lauren, Daniel, and Amber listen in. “We finally got married in that summer,” Kevin begins, “August 2008.” “Wow, can you believe your two year anniversary is coming up already?” Amber exclaims, “You two are lucky. Some people don’t even make it that long.” She gives Daniel a sad look. He gives her a glare back, but his face is unreadable.
“What was it like… on our wedding day?” Jana asks, picking up their framed wedding photo, “I mean, I’ve seen the wedding picture here, but I’d like to hear more.” “The ashram was so beautiful,” Gloria states, “It had an Oriental feel to it… it was calming and peaceful. Such a different way of life.” “Originally, you wanted a Gothic wedding,” Amber reminds everyone, “I was gonna design your dress.” “But then you changed your mind,” Kevin adds. “Yeah, you wanted a more zen-type ceremony,” Daniel finishes. “You gave me this weird… um, this unique jacket to wear,” Kevin informs Jana, “But um, Daniel ended up wearing it.” “I still have that thing,” Daniel announces, “As a matter of fact, it just so happens that I have it with me.” Daniel reveals the gray blazer that he wore at Kevin and Jana’s wedding and tosses it over to Jana. “Oh, God! Look at this thing!” Jana remarks, “It’s even worse than in the pictures. I can’t believe I would have chosen this for you to wear, Kevin.” “But you don’t remember picking it out, or anything?” Kevin asks. Jana shakes her head ‘no.’
“Do you remember Michael walking you down the aisle?” Lauren asks. Before she can answer, Michael adds, “And what I said to you, right before that,” he begins, “I know you don’t remember it, but I still do…”
Michael flashes back to the wedding day at Ashram Bhakti. As he walked Jana down the aisle, he stopped her for a brief moment. “Sorry… I’m an idiot,” he had stated. Jana looked confused. “In the past, I’ve never kept it a secret that I have… disliked you. And that was not kind of me. You love my brother… and… I love you for that. I’m sorry…” Tears had welled up in Jana’s eyes. “Thank you,” she had whispered. They had taken a moment to collect themselves and then continued down the aisle…
“You said that?” Lauren asks, “That was very sweet.” “Yes, it was, Michael,” Jana agrees, “I’m sure I appreciated that very much.”
Scene 7
At his apartment in the city, Paul tells Heather about Ricky’s mother, Isabella. “We were only married for a short time,” Paul begins, “She was young and needed someone to protect her… and… beautiful. She was very beautiful, but she was also very jealous. She was always paranoid about me and my ex-wife… Christine. She thought that by taking Christine out of the picture, she could hold on to me. But she was delusional, and disturbed, so much so that she faked her own death and tried to frame Chris for her murder.” “No way,” Heather gasps, “You’ve gotta be kidding.” “I wish,” Paul replies, “And that’s not even the end of it… Isabella, she returned and broke into Christine’s apartment. She drugged her drink and planned to kill her. If Michael and I hadn’t gotten there just in time…” “Isabella would have succeeded,” Heather deduces. “Yeah,” Paul confirms, “And Chris wouldn’t be here right now.” “What happened to her?” Heather asks, “Isabella, I mean… is she in prison?” “No, she wasn’t fit to stand trial,” Paul answers, “She was sent to a psych ward.” “Just like Patty,” Heather realizes. “Yeah. So you see why I’m hesitant to involve Ricky in anything related to Patty. He doesn’t know that his aunt is in a mental institution, and he certainly doesn’t know that his mother is in a mental institution… and I’d like to keep it that way.” “It’s just funny,” Heather realizes, “Well, not funny. Scary, actually… it’s like Isabella is your Patty.” “I’ve never really thought of it like that,” Paul admits, “But I guess, seeing what Patty’s gone through this last year does make me have a bit more sympathy for Isabella.” “You know what? I’m really sorry that I got you distracted,” Heather says, “If we keep talking, this room will never be finished.” “Yeah, you’re right about that,” Paul agrees. “Why don’t I run out and pick up a few extras for Ricky’s room?” Heather suggests. “Oh, you don’t have to do that,” Paul tells her. “No, I want to,” Heather insists, “I’m really excited… I’ve never had a brother before.”
Scene 8
At the Chancellor Estate, Jill and Katherine continue their conversation. “Jill, would you stop being so bitter and jealous, and feeling sorry for yourself?” Katherine demands, “Where is that strong woman who believed in herself and her talents?” “It’s kind of hard to believe in yourself if you don’t know who you are,” Jill retorts. “Nonsense! You know exactly who you are,” Katherine insists. “I mean, where I came from,” Jill elaborates, “Who my mother is, my father…” “Jill, you already have a mother – two mothers,” Katherine reminds her, “In every way that counts, my dear friend Liz Foster is your mother, and I will always think of you as my daughter.” “Is that why you’re offering me this job?” Jill asks, “Because you feel obligated to hire me in the ‘family’ company?” “Well, of course, I want you to be taken care of,” Katherine answers, “But I’m not offering you a job because I feel sorry for you. Heavens, no. Jill, you were a tremendous asset to Jabot, and you were a tremendous asset to Chancellor. That’s why I want you back.” “Okay, fine. Then, I’ll accept your job offer…,” Jill finally agrees, “and I suppose I could give it a shot, working with Nikki, if that’s what you want…” “That’s all I’m asking,” Katherine states. “Let me ask you something,” Jill says, “How did I end up with two wonderful women who want to be my mother? How come both of you want to call me your daughter, but the woman who gave me life wanted nothing to do with me?”
Scene 9
Kevin continues to tell Jana details of her life while Gloria, Michael, Lauren, Daniel, and Amber listen in. “The wedding ceremony itself was, um… filled with surprises, to say the least, but it was nice. It was beautiful,” Kevin informs her.
Kevin flashes back to their wedding day at the ashram. “Jana Hawkes, I love you. I knew I was gonna marry you the day I met you. When you first started working at the Coffee House, you were this funky, scooter-riding, serial killer obsessed Brit. And I was immediately, as you would say, gobsmacked. These days, you're not so obsessed with serial killers, thank God. You sold your scooter, and you're not quite as funky as you used to be, but you're still my Brit, and I am still gobsmacked,” Kevin had said, “Now we've both done some thing that maybe shouldn't be mentioned at a wedding, even this one, but they're part of our history, and I am so in this for the long haul. We're starting our married life in this new age, and we're gonna end it in our old age. I love you so much.” “And, Jana?” River had prompted her. “When I first met you, I was fascinated with the darker side of life,” Jana had begun, “Who would've thought that I'd go from Goth girl to good girl, but you were a very bad influence on me. Now... I've taken some wild and rather strange paths in my life, but the path that I look forward to taking the most... is the one I'm about to take with you. I promise to love, honor and not obey… In this lifetime and the next. I love you.” Kevin laughed. “The rings, please,” River had instructed, “The circle of the ring represents timelessness, wholeness and homecoming. Like the change of seasons, may your faith and devotion be renewed, and may this union forever endure. You are now husband and wife. And you may kiss each other, if that is the path you choose to take.” “Oh, definitely,” Kevin had joked right before he and Jana shared their first kiss as husband and wife…
“River, who turned out to be Michael’s father,” Gloria adds, “Lowell Baldwin.” “That topic is off-limits,” Michael interjects. “Michael, Jana needs to hear this part,” Kevin states. “Can you imagine that?” Gloria continues, “Of all the places you could have chosen to get married, Jana, you picked the one where Michael’s long-lost father happened to be? You thought it was fate.”
Scene 10
Heather is in an aisle of Trumble’s Book Store that sells posters. She’s holding a few posters of cars in her hand while trying to browse through the rest of the collection. “So the Assistant DA is into muscle cars?” a voice says from behind, “I should have known… you like cars like you like your men: oversized parts and an ability to perform…” Such smarmy words could only be coming from playboy Billy. Heather turns around to face him. She looks uncomfortable and slightly embarrassed. “Okay, Billy, that’s enough,” she warns. Billy grins and keeps going: “What? You have some reputation to protect?” he asks, “I do remember a night a couple months ago that I revved your engine and you didn’t seem to mind back then.” Heather tries to put Billy in his place. “Look, if you’re trying to hook up with me again…,” she begins. “Nope. I’m just making conversation, that’s all,” Billy assures her. “Well, I’d appreciate it if you’d go away,” Heather requests, “or at find something else to start a conversation about.” “Well, somebody seems to have lost her fun side,” Billy claims, “ And I know you have one cause you showed it to me that night… so where is it? Underneath all these clothes, I bet…” “Stop it!” Heather insists. “Okay, okay, cool it. I’m just joking around,” Billy admits, “Gotta have fun somehow…”
“Very funny, Billy. And actually, these posters aren’t even for me,” Heather informs him, “They’re for my little brother.” “You have a little brother?” Billy asks. “Yeah, Ricardo, but he goes by Ricky. He’s my dad’s other son,” Heather explains, “He lives in Los Angeles with his grandparents. He hasn’t been back to Genoa City since he was a kid.” “Hmmm, that sounds vaguely familiar,” Billy recalls. “Well, he’s staying with my dad for the summer,” Heather adds, “We’re decorating his bedroom. That’s what these posters are for.” “Oh, yeah? You wanna here the strangest thing?” Billy replies, “See, I have a nephew… a younger nephew, Kyle, who just happens to be coming to stay with Jack tomorrow.” “Tomorrow?” Heather repeats, “Well, that’s when Ricky’s coming.”
Scene 11
Paul continues to paint the spare room of his apartment. Suddenly, the door bell rings. Paul answers it and sees Katherine. “Katherine…,” Paul says. “Oh, I can see this is not a good time,” Katherine observes, seeing the paint all over Paul’s clothing. “Oh, don’t worry about it. I was just about to take a break,” Paul informs her, “Please come in.” “Thank you,” Katherine says, “So, are you redecorating?” “What gave you that impression?” Paul says with a laugh. He’s covered in paint and all the bedroom furniture is piled in the hallway and the living room. “Actually, it’s just the spare bedroom,” he continues, “My son, Ricky – I don’t know if you remember him… he’s coming to stay with me for the summer.” “Yes, yes, of course, I remember,” Katherine recalls.
“So, anyway, why don’t you tell me why you stopped by,” Paul suggests, “I’d offer you a seat, but I’m sorry, everything’s blocked off.” “It’s quite alright,” Katherine says, “That’s what I get for dropping in unexpectedly.” “Well, I get the sense this isn’t a social visit,” Paul deduces. “No, you’re right, it’s not,” Katherine admits, “You know… it’s wonderful, what you were talking about, how you and your son are in a sense being reunited with one another. Well, that’s actually why I’m here… in a sense.” Paul is a little confused. “I’m not sure I understand,” he tells Katherine. “Well, at Christmas time, Jill tried to do something nice for me by finding my daughter. We all know how that turned out. But, now, I wanna return the favor, and find her birth mother.”
Scene 12
Kevin continues to tell Jana details of her life while Gloria, Michael, Lauren, Daniel, and Amber listen in. “As much as I hate to say it, after our wedding, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for us… Last year, this guy, Clint Radison, um, he made me believe he was my abusive father, Tom, and he made me rob banks for him… He kept me locked in a closet. Amber actually, um, found me.” “But I couldn’t stop him. And we ended up on the run… it’s a really long story, but it totally turned out okay,” Amber blurts out, “The governor even pardoned us, so it’s all good now.” Jana looks concerned. “But before that happened, I ended up in a mental institution for a little bit,” Kevin reveals. “You were so worried the whole time Kevin was missing,” Daniel tells Jana, “You were constantly getting these headaches. The stress was a lot for you to handle.” “Yeah, but I can still hear the speech that you gave to Kevin, telling him not to give up and to keep fighting, after he was put into the institution,” Lauren says, “Because that’s what you were gonna do… You were so strong and you were gonna keep fighting…”
Lauren flashes back to the day that she and Jana visited Kevin when he was locked away in a padded cell at the mental institution. “Kevin, my darling, please look at me,” Jana had said, “You know who I am, don’t you? I can see it in your eyes. And I know who you are. You’re the man who pulled me out of the brink. The whole world gave up on me except for you. It was a really long and hard struggle but we did it together. And now I am here for you. And I’m not going to give up on you either.” Kevin had just stared blankly ahead, never acknowledging his wife or the words she said…
“That’s right, Jana,” Kevin says, “You didn’t give up on me, and now it’s my turn not to give up on you. You know, it’s funny. It’s like, now it’s reversed. It’s like, it’s this crazy, twisted relationship we have where one of us goes through a crisis, then everything’s okay, then the other one goes through a crisis. We have to stop doing that. Let’s just get to the happily ever after part…”
Scene 13
Billy and Heather continue to converse while browsing through car posters. “So how old is this little brother of yours anyway?” Billy asks.. “Seventeen,” Heather answers. “Yep. That’s how old Kyle is,” Billy realizes, “So another generation of Abbotts and Williamses runnin’ amuck around town, huh?” “Are you worried?” Heather questions, “It seems like Abbotts and Williamses together is a combination for disaster… Look at your brother and my Aunt Patty.” “Yeah, well, we got together and nothing happened,” Billy says, “except a little burnt rubber… But I’ll tell you, we were so hot, I’m surprised we didn’t trigger an explosion.” Heather is not amused. Rolling her eyes, she starts to walk away. Billy grabs her arm gently. “Look, I’m sorry. You walked right into that one… I couldn’t help myself,” he apologizes, “I’m sorry. No more. I promise.” Heather takes a deep breath. “Since you’re here, just tell me if I picked the right posters,” Heather orders. “Alright, let’s see… you’ve got your Camaro, Mustang, Firebird… Dodge Charger,” Billy observes, “Yep. Those are some good choices. Definitely.”
Scene 14
Paul and Katherine continue to discuss Katherine’s request for his assistance. “It’s Jill’s birthday at the end of September, and I was hoping that finding her mother could be my present for her.” “Well, I’ll be upfront with you and tell you that tracking down information is gonna be difficult. I remember Charlotte Ramsey had virtually disappeared when I was searching for Joanne Glover,” Paul recalls. “Well, maybe Tucker knows something since he obviously orchestrated that switch with the adoption records,” Katherine suggests, “I’ll talk to him.” “And I can’t make any promises… But I’ll check back in with the adoption agency and do some digging,” Paul agrees. “Thank you,” Katherine says. She gives him a hug. “I’ll check in with you soon, alright?” Paul promises.
As Katherine heads out the door, Jill enters the hallway from the other direction. She sees Katherine leave Paul’s apartment.
Scene 15
Kevin continues to tell Jana details of her life while Gloria, Michael, Lauren, Daniel, and Amber listen in. “I think it’s time that I tell you what led to your aneurysm,” Kevin announces. Jana takes a deep breath. “I’m ready,” she says. “Well, you know that I have a half-brother named Ryder,” Kevin begins, “Well, I also have a half-sister named Daisy. She’s Ryder’s twin, but I haven’t told you about her yet.” “Ryder mentioned Daisy to me… at the pool party,” Jana recalls, “He also said something about someone named Sarah.” “Yeah, their aunt,” Michael states, “She was their mother’s sister.” “Ryder and Daisy’s mother, her name was Sheila,” Lauren says, “and she was a monster who terrorized me for and my family for years.” “What happened to her?” Jana asks. “I killed her… the last time she came after my family…”
Scene 16
Billy returns to the Abbott Manor with supplies for Kyle’s bedroom. He rejoins Jack upstairs. “Gather around!” he announces, “Check out all these goodies. Car posters, some cool bands, sports posters… he can get rid of whatever he doesn’t want.” “Yeah, those are great. Thanks,” Jack replies appreciatively. “But that’s not all,” Billy continues, “X-box 360, the latest Grand Theft Auto, Resident Evil, Assassin’s Creed I and II… a bunch of other shooting games.” “Great,” Jack remarks sarcastically, this time. “…And what every teen boy’s room needs,” Billy says as he holds up a poster of a topless pinup model, “from my personal collection…” “Maybe Kyle’s Uncle Billy isn’t the best role model for him,” Jack states. “Hey, this model got me though many tough days of high school,” Billy informs Jack, “She’s very difficult for me to part with, but I am passing her on to my nephew. So she stays…” “Yeah, yeah, just find something to cover her up with,” Jack relents. “Face it, Jacky, your son is 17,” Billy reminds him, “You may not remember what that time of your life is like, but I certainly do. And when you need to understand what’s going on in that devious little mind of his, you know you’re gonna come to me.” “Me getting parenting advice from my little brother,” Jack laughs at the thought, “Hell, I’ve practically been parenting you for these past few years.” “I resent that comment,” Billy remarks. “Okay, I guess you haven’t needed as much parenting lately,” Jack admits, “You’ve been acting more responsibly. You’ve been a good father to Delia; you’ve kept Restless Style a success; you haven’t been hooking up with women that you shouldn’t.” “Well, two outta three ain’t bad,” Billy remarks.
Scene 17
At the Fishers’ Apartment, Lauren has just finished telling Jana all about Sheila and Sarah. Kevin, Gloria, Michael, Lauren, Daniel, and Amber listen in. “So this Sarah woman had plastic surgery to look like you, just like Sheila had plastic surgery to look like Phyllis?” Jana clarifies, “That’s bloody messed up…” “But that’s not all,” Lauren says, “You were suspicious of Ryder and Daisy. They were pretending like they had never met each other, but you didn’t buy it. You discovered their connection before anyone.” “So they kidnapped you,” Kevin finishes, “They took you to this abandoned amusement park outside of town and kept you locked up in a cage. Like an animal. They tried to make me believe you didn’t love me anymore. That you had left me for another man. But I knew that you would never do that to me.” “What does this have to do with my aneurysm?” Jana wants to know.
“You started having headaches again, like the ones you had when Kevin was kidnapped by Clint,” Lauren answers, “Ryder… he would bring us food and water. And he brought you medicine, all of it against Sarah and Daisy’s wishes. If it hadn’t been for Ryder, we would have both been dead. When he decided to let us go, though, your condition had deteriorated so much. You were in so much pain.” “And that’s when I had the aneurysm,” Jana realizes.
“Ryder, he felt horrible… that he was too late. He didn’t want to go along with the plan to start with,” Lauren defends Ryder, “Sarah and Daisy forced him into it. He regretted it from the beginning.” “Where is he?” Jana asks, “Why isn’t he here?” “I didn’t know how you’d react to him,” Kevin answers.
Scene 18
Paul is finishing painting Ricky’s bedroom. Heather returns. “Hey, how’d you make out?” he asks her. “I got a couple posters; I ran into Billy… he said Ricky would like them.” “That’s great. It’s been a long time since this apartment has been inhabited by a child,” Paul states, “And never by a teenager. So those’ll make it more comfortable for Ricky.” “I’ll go out again tomorrow morning,” Heather says, “and see what else I can pick up before he gets here.” “Thanks, I really appreciate that,” Paul tells his daughter. “Well, like I said, having a brother is all new to me,” Heather repeats, “I wanna make sure I’m a good sister.” “You will be,” Paul assures her.
Once again, Paul gets a knock on the door. This time, it’s Jill. “Hi… Jill, this is a surprise,” Paul says. “Hi Paul. I hope you don’t mind me showing up here unannounced,” Jill tells him. “Well, I am kind of in the middle of something,” Paul answers, making it obvious that he’s covered in paint. “I just saw Katherine leave,” Jill reveals. “Oh, well that was Chancellor business,” Paul lies, “Standard background checks on some new employees.” “Oh, I see,” Jill replies, “Well, I’m actually here for personal reasons… I was hoping you could help me find my mother.”
Scene 19
At the Fishers’ Apartment, Kevin reaches the end of his narration of Jana’s life in Genoa City. Gloria, Michael, Lauren, Daniel, and Amber are still present. “Do you remember any of this?” Kevin asks Jana, “Anything at all?” Jana shakes her head. She has a sad look on her face. “No… no, I don’t,” she admits, “I’m sorry. I want to… and I know how much you want me to. All of you. I wish I could…” Kevin tries to stay optimistic, to not show his disappointment and frustration in front of Jana. “Maybe… you just need a little more time still?” he says. “How much more time?” Jana asks, raising her voice, “How long is this gonna go on for? I am so tired of feeling lost and alone, and trapped in some other woman’s life. I just, I want my memory back. And I want my life back.” “I know you do… I know,” Kevin says softly, trying to comfort his wife, “Come here.” He hugs Jana as she sobs. After a few moments, she pulls away gently. She wipes her tears. “I’ve disappointed you…,” Jana says stoically, “This was a nice thing you arranged… I’m sorry to have gotten your hopes up.”
Just then, there’s a knock on the door. “I’ll get it,” Kevin announces. He opens the door to see Katherine standing outside. “Mrs. C, please come in,” Kevin says. “Thank you, Kevin,” Katherine replies, as she steps inside, “Hello, everyone.” Katherine catches sight of Amber. “Mrs. C!” Amber yells out as she runs over to her friend. “Oh, Amber, darling. It is so good to see you,” Katherine says as she gives Amber a big hug, “We’ll catch up afterwards, alright?” Amber nods her head.
“Jana, you know Mrs. Chancellor,” Kevin reintroduces them, “she’s a good friend of the family and maybe soon-to-be my boss again.” “Your boss, really? Have you been offered a new job?” Jana inquires. “Yeah, we can talk about that later,” Kevin answers. Jana turns to Katherine. “It’s a pleasure to meet you… again,” she says. “Thank you,” Katherine replies. “Seriously, I know you have a lot to do since you’ve been back at Chancellor,” Kevin tells Katherine, “It means a lot that you came here.” “My dear, I’d be nowhere else,” Katherine says, with a smile.
Kevin and Jana take their previous seats while Katherine remains standing. “Now, I don’t have memories to share, like the rest of you,” Katherine begins, “But I’m here to make a contribution of a different kind… When no one else believed who I was, Kevin, you stood by me. You helped me re-gain my life. Now, it’s only fair that I do the same for you,” Katherine tells him, “That’s why I’ve arranged for a specialist, one of the top neurologists in the country, to come to Genoa City to take a look at Jana.” “That’s great news!” Amber exclaims. “Yeah, Mrs. C, thank you. Really,” Kevin adds. “That’s very generous of you,” Jana says, “Tell me… When will the neurologist be arriving?” “He’ll be here the day after the holiday,” Katherine answers, “And let me tell you, if anyone will know how to treat you, Jana, and how to help you regain your memory, it’s him…”
Next Time on The Young and The Restless
Phyllis Summers Newman, her husband Nicholas Newman, and Nick’s father Victor Newman are speculating on who could have been responsible for orchestrating the eel plot. “So we know that… it wasn’t Ryder,” Phyllis realizes. “But it could have been his sister, Daisy,” Nick suggests. “That’s exactly what I’m thinking,” Phyllis agrees.
Amber Moore Romalotti and Katherine Chancellor Murphy are sitting on Katherine’s couch in the living room of the Chancellor Estate. Amber is crying. “I just really wanted him to come to California,” Amber wails. “I know you did,” Katherine says in a soothing voice, “I know you did…”
Malcolm Winters is in the hall of the Athletic Club, about to return to his suite. Alex Perez enters the same hallway and sees Malcolm. “Wait… please… come in and talk,” Alex requests, “Please.” “Alex, there’s nothing to talk about,” Malcolm insists. “Not about us,” Alex clarifies, “Just about you…”
