Scene 1

Kevin Fisher returns home to his apartment after a day’s work at his new job as Chief Information Officer for Chancellor Industries. His amnesiac wife Jana Hawkes Fisher is waiting in the living room for him.

“How was work?” she asks, possibly more out of obligation than interest. “You know, this job is so much more than just the IT stuff I was doing for Tucker McCall,” Kevin says, “IT… that’s information technology… computers and stuff.” “I see,” Jana nods. “Yeah, but this job… it’s business strategy and thinking of the big picture, and helping all the other departments communicate with one another,” Kevin adds enthusiastically. “It sounds exciting,” Jana comments. “Very,” Kevin says, “but there’s one aspect about it that I’m not too happy about, and that’s all the traveling I’m gonna have to do. I hate to think of leaving you all alone here.”

Scene 2

Outside of a small house in Hicksville, New York, private investigator Paul Williams talks on his cell phone. He called Tucker McCall, but got voicemail. “Tucker, it’s Paul…,” he begins, “Your Lena Griffin tip didn’t pan out. This woman never went by the name of Eileen Ramsey… But listen, there’s another Lena Griffin in a nearby town called Hicksville. I’m about to check her out right now, in case Charlotte got the city mixed up.”

As Paul hangs up and walks up the front steps and onto the porch, someone comes outside. It’s Jill Abbott!

Scene 3

Gloria Bardwell arrives at Crimson Lights Coffee House, where Ryder Callahan is working behind the counter. “Ryder! A cup of coffee, please,” she requests. “Sure thing,” Ryder replies. He pours the coffee and places the mug on the counter in front of Gloria.

As Gloria grabs the coffee, Ryder notices the ring on her finger. “So you and Jeffrey are engaged after all?” Ryder asks. “Yes! Look at this big, beautiful rock,” Gloria holds up her hand, “I don’t know what I was thinking… that night at dinner. Making a big scene in front of everyone. After all, I’m hardly one to draw attention to myself.” She can barely finish the last part of the sentence without laughing when she realizes how untrue it is. Ryder chuckles a bit too. “I find that hard to believe,” he says, “If there’s one thing Kevin always tells me about his mother, it’s that she likes to be the center of attention.” “That reminds me,” Gloria says, “At dinner, you were going to tell me all about your mother. Why don’t we pick up where we left off?”

Scene 4

Billy Abbott accompanies his teenage nephew Kyle Abbott to the Coffee House. Kyle turns to him: “You know, you didn’t have to follow me in here,” he states, “I don’t need you to hold my hand. I’m just getting a coffee and waiting for Rick… I can do that by myself.” “No way!” Billy replies, “When else do I get a chance to hang out with my very cool nephew. No offense to Detective Dependable [Chance Chancellor], but he’s a little too goody-goody for me.” “You can ‘hang out’ with me any day but today, tomorrow, and the next day,” Kyle explains, speaking of the three days that both of his parents are away, “Those are my days to enjoy what’s left of the summer, and since you already interrupted my time with that girl I was with, and drug me to the movies… twice, I’d say we’ve done enough for today.”

Suddenly, Billy gets a call from Victoria Newman. “Where are you?” Victoria asks, “I’ll come and meet you.” Billy looks out to the patio and sees Victoria out there. “Or I can just come to you,” he tells her, “Stay there.” He motions for Kyle to wait at the table, and then goes out to the patio. Billy and Victoria discretely hug. “Thank goodness you got out of my house! And you got your other sock…,” she notices, “See, that’s exactly what I was talking about, though. I don’t wanna think about what would have happened if Roseanne had seen you. We can’t let anyone find out we’re married!”

Kyle is secretly watching them through the patio window. It’s not clear how much, if any, he overheard…

Scene 5

At the Fishers’ Apartment, Kevin and Jana continue their discussion of Kevin’s new CIO job. “I supported you taking the job, even though I knew you would have to go away,” Jana reminds Kevin, “so I hope your reservations aren’t on my account.” “I’m sorry, but I still worry about you,” Kevin says unapologetically. “I am dealing with it as best as I can,” Jana tells him. “Well, you shouldn’t have to deal with it alone,” Kevin says.

“How did we get talking about this?” Jana asks. “I was worried that your results would come back while I was away,” Kevin reminds her. “Right,” Jana remembers, “So there’s a trip coming up, then?” “Yeah, there’s some conference in Chicago,” Kevin answers, “The only problem is it starts tomorrow… somehow, they got me in last minute.” Jana doesn’t say anything. “I’ll get to meet other CIOs from other big companies,” Kevin explains, “Listen to all these rich guys talk…” “You should go,” Jana tells Kevin. “I have to go,” Kevin replies, “I don’t have a choice… it’s part of my job. I just started there… it’s good training.”

Kevin pauses for a moment to consider something: “What if your results come in from your brain scan while I’m away?” he asks. Jana realizes that she needs to tell Kevin the truth. “They already did,” she admits. “What?” Kevin reacts. “Yeah, you were at work and I knew you couldn’t get away,” Jana explains. “Were you gonna tell me?” Kevin asks, clearly frustrated. “Yes! Of course!” Jana insists, “I just needed to find the right moment. Scott said…” “Wait a minute,” Kevin interrupts her, “You told Scott about this before you told me?”

Scene 6

Phyllis Newman arrives at the Athletic Club dining room, and sees Roseanne Ryerson eating dinner alone at one of the tables. She decides to approach Roseanne. “Um, excuse me,” she tries to get Roseanne’s attention, “You’re the woman evaluating Reed’s custody, right?” “That’s right,” Roseanne confirms. “Well, listen… if you have some free time, I was thinking… maybe we can get my interview over with right now,” Phyllis suggests.

Scene 7

Kevin and Jana continue to discuss Jana’s results from her brain scan. “I asked Scott to go with me,” Jana explains, “You just started your new job. I knew you couldn’t be interrupted.” “And that’s all it was?” Kevin asks for reassurance. “Yes!” Jana insists. “Okay... well, what did the doctor say?” Kevin asks nervously.

“I have retrograde amnesia,” Jana informs her husband, “Dr. Hamilton… said that I won’t be able to get my memory back,” Jana reveals. Kevin is crushed. “So, just like that… it’s just gone?” he manages to say, “It’s hopeless?” “That’s what it sounded like,” Jana tells him. “Jana, I… I don’t know what to say,” Kevin stammers. “Say that you’ll support me and you won’t keep pushing me to be exactly like the old Jana,” Jana replies, “and that you’ll still go to your conference. Because the last thing I want is for you to jeopardize your career for me.”

“But maybe I shouldn’t have taken the job,” Kevin tells Jana, “It just wasn’t a good time. I have the Coffee House to run – luckily, Ryder’s there now – and with everything you’re going through…” “I’ll be fine,” Jana says confidently, “It was definitely a blow when the doctor first told me, but I’ve accepted it.” “Still, if I go to this conference, I want someone to stay here with you,” Kevin tells Jana, “I don’t want you being alone.” “I really don’t think I need a babysitter,” Jana tells him, “I’ll go back to work at the Coffee House… that way, I’ll hardly ever be here.” “But I’m talking about at night…,” Kevin says, “Maybe Daniel can stay here with you for a few days.” “I don’t really know Daniel,” Jana replies, “I mean, not that well, anymore.” “Okay, well, maybe you can stay with Michael and Lauren,” Kevin suggests, “I’m sure they wouldn’t mind.” “I don’t want to intrude on anyone,” Jana says, declining that suggestion too. “Meet me half-way here,” Kevin insists, “You’re my wife, and I love you… do it for me, please.” Jana scoffs. Kevin tries to compromise: “Okay, how about if Scott will stay here?” Kevin throws out an alternative, “Then will you agree?” “Okay…,” Jana immediately agrees. She now has a big smile on her face.

Scene 8

Billy rejoins Kyle at their table in the Coffee House. Victoria has now left form the patio. “So how long have you two been sleeping together?” Kyle asks outright, much to Billy’s surprise. “Whoa. Come again?” Billy says. “You and Victoria,” Kyle repeats, “How long have you been doing it?” “Me – since fifteen. Back in New York City,” Billy admits, “Victoria – I dunno. You’d have to ask her, but I doubt she’d tell you.” “I mean, with each other, you idiot,” Kyle clarifies. “Doing what with each other?” Billy avoids answering the question. Kyle doesn’t answer Billy either. “I don’t blame you,” he continues, “She’s pretty damn hot… for a Newman. I definitely wouldn’t say no to…” Billy interrupts Kyle. “Hey. You’re not even legal yet,” he says, “So get your mind out of the gutter, where Victoria’s concerned. And direct your fantasies to someone more age-appropriate… like Miley Cyrus, or something.” “Wait… so you’re actually into Victoria?” Kyle realizes, “She’s not just some random hook up? I thought the Newmans and the Abbotts were supposed to hate each other.” Billy is trying to think of a way to deny his feelings for Victoria, but he can’t. He sighs. “This goes no further than the two of us. You got it?” he replies. “How far it goes is all up to you, Uncle Billy,” Kyle states.

Scene 9

Paul and Jill have just come face to face in Hicksville, New York, on Eileen Ramsey (Lena Griffin)’s front porch. “Well, this is a surprise!” Paul says, “What are you doing here?” “I could ask you the same thing,” Jill replies. “Did Tucker tell you about Lena Griffin?” Paul questions. “When you wouldn’t take the case, so I hired a detective of my own,” Jill lies, “That’s why I’m here. How about you?” “I told you I would look into your birth parents… off the record, when I had a chance,” Paul replies, also distorting the truth a little. “Oh, so this has nothing to do with Katherine then?” Jill clarifies. “I’m here for you,” Paul assures Jill. “It doesn’t matter who you’re here for, really,” Jill says, “It’s a bust, anyway. Eileen or Lena, or whoever the hell she is, has no idea about this other baby. She says that if Charlotte gave up another baby, it’s news to her.” “Let me try talking to her,” Paul suggests. “Knock yourself out, but I’m not getting my hopes up,” Jill tells him, “She’s not my mother, and she doesn’t know anything about who is…”

Scene 10

On the patio of the Coffee House, Billy reacts to Kyle’s threat. “No, no, no!” Billy protests, “You are not gonna use this against me, nephew. There are reasons why Victoria and I can’t take our relationship public yet.” “Then you better cooperate with me,” Kyle says in a serious tone. “What is it that you want?” Billy inquires, but before, Kyle can answer, Heather Stevens and her younger half-brother Ricky Williams arrive at the Coffee House patio together. Kyle waves to get Ricky’s attention. Ricky and Heather approach Kyle and Billy.

“I see you’ve picked up another shadow too,” Kyle comments, regarding Heather. “There is nothing wrong with wanting to get to know my little brother better,” Heather states. “See, that’s what I said,” Billy adds. “Um, Kyle, this is my sister Heather,” Ricky introduces them. Kyle’s staring at her overtly. “You’re so hot,” he says aloud. Heather looks uncomfortable, but smiles. Ricky doesn’t know what to say. “Hey, remember what I just told you,” Billy prompts Kyle, who calms himself down…

“And I think you two know each other,” Ricky says about Heather and Billy. “We do,” Heather says. “Very well,” Billy adds, and Heather gives him a look to shut his mouth. There is a clear awkwardness between Billy and Heather in their interactions. Kyle picks up on it immediately. “You’ve slept with her too, haven’t you?” he asks Billy in front of Heather and Ricky. “No!” Heather immediately denies it, but at the same time, Billy says “Yes.” He sees no reason to lie to Kyle again. “Billy!” Heather shouts, “That’s our business as adults, and I don’t think my teenage brother or your nephew should be hearing about it.” “It’s not like I didn’t know already,” Kyle tells Heather, “You can just tell sometimes from the way two people act around each other… Like Scott and that broad he’s talkin’ to.” He stares at Scott and Jana who are talking inside the Coffee House. “Those two are definitely doin’ each other, or about to real soon,” he continues, “You can see how much they want to rip each others’ clothes off…” The others are all speechless.

Scene 11

Inside the Coffee House, Jana and Scott Grainger, Jr. continue to talk to one another. Kevin can be seen in the background talking to Ryder and Gloria. “I want you to know that Roxanne told me about what happened with the two of you,” Jana says softly to Scott, in order to be discrete. She’s referring to Scott sleeping with Roxanne Porter, Devon Hamilton Winters’ girlfriend. “Yeah, well, I promise you it wasn’t my idea,” Scott defends himself, “I didn’t go looking for it to happen.” “You don’t have to justify yourself to me,” Jana tells him, “I still know what kind of person you are. And I won’t judge you… even though I believe that an intimate relationship should be reserved for two people who care very deeply for one another… I don’t know what I believed before, but that’s how I feel today.” “Sometimes things are a little more complicated than that,” Scott tells her. “Yeah… I’m starting to see that you’re right,” Jana admits.

Kevin approaches them. “So did Jana ask you yet?” he inquires. “Ask me what?” Scott replies. “We were talking about something else,” Jana tells Kevin, “I didn’t get a chance yet.” “Oh, well, I’ve got a conference starting tomorrow and, um, I thought, maybe you could stay with Jana while I’m away to keep her company.” “Yeah, sure,” Scott immediately agrees, “Don’t get me wrong: I love my suite at the club, but I could also use a change of scenery from it too.” “I’m glad to hear that,” Jana replies. “Yeah, man, Jana trusts you. I trust you,” Kevin tells Scott, “So I owe you one… Big time…”

Scene 12

Gloria and Ryder continue their conversation about Sheila Carter. “You know I don’t like to talk about Sheila,” Ryder tells Gloria. “I realize that, but I’m just trying to understand… how did you find out that Sheila was your mother?” Gloria asks, “and how often did you see her?” “Hardly ever,” Ryder admits, “Because she was too busy trying to get back at Lauren to be a real mother.” “That’s very sad when someone devotes their life to revenge

“She was Aunt Sheila to us for the longest time,” Ryder explains, “Sarah was ‘Momma Bear’ to us, but she didn’t have any motherly instincts. She wasn’t kind, nurturing, any of that… she treated us like we were her slaves. Sometimes I would wish that she wasn’t my real mother… that someone would come and take me away, but it never happened.” “So how did you find out that Sheila was your real mother?” Gloria asks again. “It wasn’t until after we learned that she had died,” Ryder informs Gloria, “Sarah sat us down and told us that Sheila was our mother, and that Lauren was the reason we never got to know her, and would never get the chance.” “And that’s when she enlisted you and Daisy to help her avenge Sheila’s death,” Gloria realizes. “Exactly, because she said that that’s what our mother would have wanted,” Ryder says, “and that’s the decision I regret more than anything in this world…”

Scene 13

At the Athletic Club, Roseanne has been interviewing Phyllis about Victoria’s parenting skills. “I really have been trying to stay neutral in the while thing. Victoria and JT both… I can’t say a bad word against either of them as far as being parents,” Phyllis says, “When it comes to my own daughter, I trust them both implicitly. And my daughter has a peanut allergy, so she requires extra-special care, and I know that both Victoria and JT have always been really good with her and with making sure that she’s eating safe foods. And they’re the same way with Reed. Yes, they both have high-profile jobs, but nothing is more important to them than their little boy. I believe that, and I’ve seen that from the way that they interact with him.” “Thank you,” Roseanne says, “Do you have anything else you’d like to add, Mrs. Newman?”

Phyllis thinks for a moment. “Um, I don’t know if I should say this or not,” she prefaces her speech, “but I actually had my son taken away from me before… I was declared an unfit mother in a court, so I know better than anyone should what Victoria’s going through. And she doesn’t deserve it. She’s a good mother to Reed, and she doesn’t deserve to lose her son just because her marriage didn’t work out. I know what that’s like, and it is the most painful thing a mother can go through.”

Scene 14

Michael Baldwin is at home in his apartment when there’s a knock on the door. Michael answers the door and sees Ricky, although he doesn’t know who Ricky is. “Mr. Baldwin?” Ricky asks. Michael looks up. “Yes. How can I help you?” he replies. “I’m Ricky Williams, Paul Williams’ son,” he tells Michael. “Ricky! Wow, you’ve grown up!” Michael exclaims, “Come on inside… Your father told us you were coming to town. Eden’s mentioned you a few times.” “You’re Eden’s father?” Ricky asks as he takes a seat at the couch. “Half-brother,” Michael clarifies, “Much older half-brother… Don’t ask.” “I guess every family has its secrets,” Ricky states. “You got that right,” Michael agrees. “I was hoping you could help me uncover some of mine,” Ricky reveals, “Starting with my mother…”

Scene 15

Phyllis remains at the Athletic Club after her interview with Roseanne. Ashley Abbott, CEO of Jabot Cosmetics, arrives for a business meeting. “Oh, hi!” Ashley says to Phyllis, who almost runs right into her. “Sorry, I wasn’t watching where I was going at all,” Phyllis admits. “Yeah, you seem a little shaken up,” Ashley notices, “Is everything okay?” “Not really,” Phyllis confesses, “Actually, not at all. Um, listen… can you sit down for a minute? I think you can relate to what I’m going through.” “This sounds serious,” Ashley comments, “but honestly, I really can’t stay long. I have a business meeting.” Ashley sits down. “Okay, no problem,” Phyllis says, “Um, I’ll try to make this short… I don’t even know where to begin…” She takes a deep breath, and continues talking. “Someone has been, I guess ‘haunting’ me would be a good word for it,” she explains. Ashley looks confused. “Haunting you how?” she inquires. “First, I started getting these calls that were just hang-ups, and I thought it was nothing,” Phyllis informs Ashley, “but then I found a dead eel in my bed. And then someone tried to run me and Nick down while we were at the lake. And later, I found an article that someone left on my porch, about the death of a former friend and co-worker of mine.” Ashley looks disturbed. “What does it all mean?” she asks. “Well, obviously, someone from my past is trying to destroy my life,” Phyllis tells Ashley. “Phyllis, that sounds a lot like what Adam did to me last summer,” she realizes, “I mean, the MO is almost exactly the same: sneaking around the Ranch, and doing little things that’ll make you go crazy.” “I know!” Phyllis agrees, “That’s exactly how I feel… like this is driving me crazy.”

“Well, I have a business meeting, so if you’ll excuse me...,” Ashley informs Phyllis as she gets up from the table. “Yeah, sure,” Phyllis says. “I hope that you find out who’s behind all of the things that are happening to you, so that you can put it behind you like I have.” “Thanks,” Phyllis replies.

Phyllis considers what Ashley just said, and gets a shiver at the thought of it. “Adam…,” she whispers aloud, not sure if it could actually be possible…

Scene 16

At the Baldwins’ Apartment, Michael reacts to Ricky’s request to tell him about his mother, Isabella Brana Williams. “Your mother, huh?” he says, trying to decide what he should do, “What do you want to know about her?” “Did you know her?” Ricky wants to confirm, “‘Cause I was told that you’re the guy to ask.” “Yes, I knew Isabella, but that was a long time ago,” Michael admits, “As a matter of fact, I invited her here to Genoa City. I thought she could use a fresh start.” “A fresh start from what?” Ricky inquires. Michael realizes he shouldn’t give out any information. “Does your father know you’re here?” “My father knows I’m curious about my mother,” Ricky answers vaguely. “But how does he feel about that?” Michael follows up. “Does it really matter?” Ricky asks, “She’s my mother… I have a right to know.” Michael tries to let Ricky down gently. “But, you see, I have to assume that Paul is doing what he thinks is best for you by not telling you much about your mother.” “I don’t get it, though,” Ricky says, “What’s the big secret?” Michael doesn’t immediately reply. “I’m gonna find out one way or the other,” Ricky adds. “Look, I think you’re a nice kid. And I really wish I could help you, but I really think you should talk to your father about this some more,” Michael suggests, “Sometimes, things are better left in the past. Just think about that a little before more you go digging any further into this…”

Scene 17

At the Coffee House, Kevin is talking to Ryder and Gloria. He watches Billy, Kyle, and Heather out on the patio. “I guess I better go see Billy Abbott and his ‘Mini Me’ out there,” he says, “I don’t know why I agreed to let that kid [Kyle] work here… I’d much rather him be someone else’s problem.”

Out on the patio, Scott sees Billy and the others at the table and approaches them. “Hey, man,” Billy greets him. “So, big issue coming out tomorrow,” Scott says, speaking of Restless Style. “Yeah, your first one,” Billy realizes, “If you think you’re excited now, wait ‘til you see your cover story on all the stands tomorrow.” “I know I’m excited for my big debut,” Kyle says. “You’re gonna be in Restless Style?” Heather asks. “Kyle is our cover model, and part of our cover story,” Billy tells Heather, “and this, by the way, is Scott, my newest writer.” “Hi,” Heather says, “I’m Heather Stevens.” “Scott Grainger,” he replies, as he shakes her hand. “Lauren’s son Scott?” Heather asks. “Yeah,” Scott confirms. “Our parents were married, like, a really long time ago,” Heather tells him, “I guess that kind of makes us related.”

Suddenly, Kevin approaches Billy and Kyle’s table. Kevin and Scott knock their fists together to greet one another. Billy and Kevin acknowledge each other only out of obligation. “Kevin,” Billy mutters. “Willy,” Kevin says back, before turning to Kyle, “You’re supposed to be here first thing tomorrow. I have to go out of town, so I won’t be here, but my half-brother Ryder will. I want you to report to him.” Kyle salutes Kevin. “Yes, sir,” he jokes. “And I want you to take this job seriously,” Kevin says. “Cut him a break, Chipmunk!” Billy defends Kyle, “He said he’ll be there.” “He better,” Kevin warns.

Scene 18

Kyle and Billy are inside the Coffee House, getting refills while Heather waits out on the patio still. “Now, Heather let Ricky go,” Kyle says, “So I’m leaving too. And if you want to keep your ‘relationships’ with Victoria and Heather a secret, then you better not bother me for the next two days, and you better make sure that Heather leaves Rick alone too.” “But…,” Billy begins to speak. “This isn’t up for negotiation, uncle,” Kyle says.

Scene 19

Kyle has left the Coffee House, but Heather and Billy are still on the patio. They are both on their cell phones, talking to Paul and Jack, respectively. “They don’t like us hovering around them at all,” Billy tells Jack. “We had to let them leave the Coffee House for a bit, or else they’d get too suspicious,” Heather informs Paul, who’s in New York. “I told you not to let Ricky out of your sight,” Paul reminds his daughter, “I’m positive Kyle is the one who convinced him to lie to me. And I want you to make sure that Kyle doesn’t get him into any more trouble than he’s already in.” “Yes, we are ruining whatever fun they’re trying to have while you’re away,” Billy assures Jack, “I already forced Kyle to sit through the same movie twice today. He wasn’t very happy.”

After they’ve both hung up their phones, Billy turns to Heather. “Look… I know that Paul and Jack want us to keep tabs on Kyle and Ricky. But, I mean, think about it from their point-of-view,” Billy says to Heather, “Would you have wanted someone hanging around you all the time… trying to prevent you from doing anything with your girlfriends. Or your boyfriends…” “Good point,” Heather realizes. “Yeah, let’s just give them the benefit of the doubt,” Billy suggests, “Sure… they lied about where they were staying so that they could have the mansion to themselves, but that doesn’t mean they’re gonna destroy the place or something.” “I don’t know,” Heather replies hesitantly, “My dad is counting on me to keep an eye on Ricky and prevent him from spending too much time with Kyle… that’s his punishment for lying.” “Yeah, but think of it as a test,” Billy says, “Let’s not assume they’re guilty of anything more than telling a white lie. Let’s give them a chance to be on their own and see what they do.” “Or if we give them enough rope, they could hang themselves,” Heather counters.

Scene 20

Inside the Coffee House, Ryder finds the courage to approach Jana. “Kevin told me about your memory,” he informs her, “I know it’s my fault you have amnesia in the first place.” “I don’t exactly remember, but from what I’ve been told, it was Sarah’s fault, not yours.” “Well, I went along with it,” Ryder tells her, “I could have saved you a lot earlier than I did, and maybe things wouldn’t have been so worse.” “You can’t dwell on it,” Jana says, “We just all have to accept things the way they are, and move on…”

Scene 21

Kyle and Ricky return to the Abbott Manor. Ricky is upset after his visit with Michael. “So Michael pulled the same crap as your mom,” he rants to Kyle, “Refusing to tell me anything about my mom!”

Kyle is unsympathetic. “You ever see Ferris Bueller’s Day Off?” he asks Ricky. “Yeah,” Ricky replies, confused. “Well, these are our days off,” Kyle says, “So you can forget about your mom for two more days, can’t you? This is our time to chill out, enjoy life… we got a big party coming up tomorrow. Our parents are still clueless, and I’ve made sure that Heather and Billy will stay out of our hair.” “What if they find out about the party?” a worried Ricky asks. “They won’t,” Kyle replies confidently, “You know, you are just like that Cameron kid… Ferris’s best friend. So pessimistic, and always worried. But everything’s gonna go off without a hitch. You gotta trust me, Rick. Have I ever steered you wrong before?”

Scene 22

Ashley is now back at her office in the Jabot Building. There’s a knock on her door. It’s her former step-mother and current employee, Gloria. “Hi Gloria,” Ashley says, more politely than usual, “What can I do for you?” “I’m here to deliver on the other end of our deal,” Gloria announces, “I have some more information from Ryder about his mother Sheila and how he grew up.” “I don’t want to count my chickens before they hatch, but Abby hasn’t seemed nearly as interested in Ryder anymore since we loosened up on her grounding,” Ashley tells Gloria, “She doesn’t mention him anymore. They haven’t been caught talking or sneaking around to see each other…” “Maybe she’s just getting better at hiding it,” Gloria suggests. “Or she realizes that he’s not worth spending the last of her teenage years grounded,” Ashley replies. “Well, either way, I wanted to keep my word, Ashley,” Gloria says, “That’s why I found out the rest of the information you wanted from Ryder.” “And I appreciate that, Gloria,” “That’s why I’m keeping my word to you, as well. Not only can you keep your job here, but I’ve taken a sizeable amount of the settlement amount from your salary, so at this point, you’re well on your way to being free of your debt…”

Scene 23

Jill, disappointed that Tucker’s tip didn’t pan out, is at a bar drowning her sorrows in a drink.

Scene 24

Eileen Ramsey (now called Lena Griffin), an elderly woman a little older than Katherine Chancellor Murphy, comes into her living room carrying a cup of tea for Paul. He’s just hanging up his cell phone. “Sorry about that,” he says, “My daughter…” Lena hands him a cup of tea, and he thanks her. “So, do you have any daughters yourself?” Paul asks, trying to probe her for information. “I know what you’re trying to do,” Lena answers him, “You’re trying to trick me into admitting something.” “I’m just making conversation,” Paul assures her. Lena seems to let down her guard. “I had two daughters: Beth Anne and Betty Jo,” she says. “And you have a good relationship with them?” Paul asks. “My Elizabeth is dead now,” Lena informs Paul. “I’m sorry to hear that,” Paul offers.

“It was a long time ago,” Lena says, “and my Betty is very sick right now. But, yes, I had a wonderful relationship with my girls, and I’m very proud of them.” “So you know how special the bond between a mother and a daughter can be,” Paul infers, “and why it’s so important to Jill to find her biological mother. She spent several years believing that another woman was her mother, only to find out recently that that wasn’t true…” “Katherine Chancellor,” Lena states. “Yes,” Paul confirms, “You know about that?” “My sister told me all about it,” Lena admits. “Right, and that’s what I’m here to find out… if your sister ever told you anything else… about another baby that she might have ever taken to an adoption agency… You see, I want to find Jill’s mother, not because I’m a PI, but because she’s my friend,” he tells Lena, “Can you help me?”

Lena is hesitant to reply. “I’m happy with my life and my family as it is,” Lena says, “I don’t want it to change. I’m much too old and set in my ways to alter my life to get to know someone who hasn’t been in my life in nearly sixty years, and that’s why I didn’t tell her this, but I think that the woman that was here is my daughter…”

Scene 25

Victoria is back home and is now talking on the phone to Nick. “And you’re sure it’s only temporary?” Victoria asks her brother, who just told her that he and his daughter, Summer, will be staying at the Main House on the Newman Ranch, “You know how hard it’s been on Reed to live without both of his parents. I would hate for Summer to go through the same thing.” Nick replies, but his response cannot be heard. “You really need to get a brain, Nick,” Victoria tells her brother, “You should be standing by Phyllis’s side supporting her through all this. You two have been through so much together… Don’t let this be the thing that ends you…”

Scene 26

Michael is now with Phyllis at the Tack House. “What if Ashley’s right?” Phyllis asks the unthinkable, “Could Adam be alive? Could this be revenge for my part in exposing him for kidnapping Faith?” Michael won’t even consider the thought. “Listen to me, Phyllis!” he orders, “You have accused Ryder and Daisy, Diane, Christine, Brian Hamilton, and now you’re accusing a dead person! You need to get a grip. You’re out of control.” Phyllis is teary-eyed. “I don’t know who else it could be,” Phyllis admits, “I’ve gone over every angle. Thought of every person from my past who might want to get back at me. And I can’t think of anyone who would be so cruel, especially when all these things happened so many years ago, and I am a changed person now…”

Scene 27

Inside one of the Athletic Club suites, an unknown woman is seen from behind. She has long red hair. The woman walks over to the mirror to model the wig. As she takes it off, her blonde hair is revealed and it becomes clear that the woman is Roseanne, the Guardian Ad Litem who is evaluating the matter of Reed’s custody.

Roseanne picks up a tiny doll with blonde hair and begins to speak aloud to it. “It was so hard to contain myself being around Phyllis again. Yes, it was,” she admits, “After all these years… She doesn’t recognize me. She has no idea who I am… but she’ll remember soon enough.” She puts the doll down and picks up a larger, red-headed doll now.

“It’s working… your plan is working,” she continues, “Phyllis’s husband and daughter have moved out. She’s all alone at the Tack House. Her life is miserable, and the fun’s just beginning…” Roseanne pulls the head off the red-headed doll and it flies out of her hand onto the bed, landing on an open file folder containing photos and files on Phyllis…

Next Time on The Young and The Restless

At the Coffee House, Daniel Romalotti, Jr. reacts to Brian Hamilton’s shocking admission. “What did you just say?” he demands. “I said that you’re my son,” Brian repeats.

Upstairs, in Abby Carlton’s bedroom, Abby and her cousin Noah Newman are also reading the issue of Restless Style. “Noah Newman is a spoiled wimp who grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth and needs to learn how to toughen up,” Noah reads Kyle’s comment about himself aloud to Abby.

Meanwhile, at the Abbott Manor, Kyle Abbott is reading Noah’s comments about him to his friend Ricky Williams: “Kyle Abbott is an angry jerk who’s pissed off ‘cause his I was more of a son to his father than he was,” he says, “Those are fightin’ words…”

Scene 1

Victoria Newman is meeting with her lawyer, Michael Baldwin, in the break room of Newman Enterprises. Victoria has just admitted to Michael how she reacted when Roseanne Ryerson, the Guardian Ad Litem assigned to evaluate the custody case for Reed Hellstrom, came to her house earlier that morning.

“What do you mean – you told her off?” Michael shouts. “She showed up at my house out of nowhere, and then was acting suspicious of me the whole time,” Victoria defends herself, “I’m sick of her snobby attitude and the way she looks down at me like I’m a horrible mother.” “I told you from the beginning… I know it’ll be hard but you have to suck it up and play along. You knew that!” Michael says loudly, “God forbid somebody pay a lawyer and then actually listen to his advice…” “I’m sorry,” Victoria apologizes, “I really do appreciate everything you’ve been doing.” “Then listen to what I’ve been telling you! Victoria, you are a mother fighting for your child!” Michael stresses, “You should know better than to get into a verbal combat with the woman who decides Reed’s fate!” “Wait a minute – she decides Reed’s fate?” Victoria questions, “I thought she only made a recommendation to the court…”

Scene 2

Meanwhile, at the Coffee House, JT Hellstrom, Reed’s father, is meeting with his own lawyer, Alex Perez, about the custody case. “Alright, so what’s first on the agenda?” JT inquires. “Well, you know you have your home visit coming up in the next few days,” Alex reminds him. JT nods. “It’s already on my calendar,” he says. “Good. Then we should talk about the hearing,” Alex changes the subject, “Victoria’s strongest argument in her favor is having a large extended family that’s been involved in Reed’s life. She lives on the same property as her parents and her brother, and Reed’s aunt and cousin. The judge will consider that to be a positive thing. We have to attack that…”

Scene 3

Mackenzie Browning has taken her boyfriend’s son Reed Hellstrom, and Reed’s cousin Summer Newman to Trumble’s Book Store. “Look at all these new books!” Mackenzie exclaims, “You can each pick out a couple and we’ll read them when we go back home.”

As Mackenzie is looking through picture books with Reed and Summer, an elderly woman stops her. “You have beautiful children,” she comments. Mackenzie is caught off-guard. “Oh, thank you, but they’re not my kids,” she replies. “No?” The woman is surprised. “Well, the way you interact with them… it’s as if they’re your own,” she says, “You’ll be a great mother when your own little one comes along.” “Actually, I’m having twins, but they’re not mine either,” Mackenzie clarifies, “I’m acting as a surrogate for friends of mine.” “I see,” the woman replies, “Well, whenever you’re lucky enough to become a mother, you’ll find there’s nothing greater in the world.” “I’m starting to wonder if that’ll ever happen,” Mackenzie admits.

Scene 4

Tucker McCall is at the Athletic Club. Roseanne Ryerson comes downstairs from her Athletic Club suite. Tucker sees her, and recognizes her as a woman he spoke to at the bar previously. “Well, where have you been hiding away?” he asks her. “Oh, I’ve been all over town,” Roseanne replies, “That’s my job… it keeps me very busy…” “I gave you my card,” Tucker reminds her. “I know. I just have never been one to spend too much time socializing. Not when there’s all this work to be done… and a child’s future is at stake.” “That’s right,” Tucker recalls, “You’re a child advocate, aren’t you?” “And I work full-time as a lawyer,” Roseanne adds.

“And that’s your sole reason for being in Genoa City?” Tucker questions, “Just for work reasons?” “I have my reasons,” Roseanne says vaguely, “I don’t need to divulge what they are.” “Well, that sounds mysterious,” Tucker comments. “Well, look at you: you came to Genoa City, supposedly just another business man looking for a good investment, when all along, you had been biding your time, waiting for the perfect opportunity to swoop in and have your revenge on someone who did you wrong, someone who made a selfish decision that changed the entire course of your life. “So what are you biding your time for?” Tucker wants to know. “Wouldn’t you like to know?” Roseanne refuses to answer. She walks away, leaving Tucker captivated for a moment…

…But, Tucker has another woman on his agenda today. He takes out his cell phone and makes a call: “I’m at the Athletic Club,” he announces, “I need to see you…”

Scene 5

Roxanne Porter has just returned home from Fenmore’s Boutique, where she spent the night with Scott Grainger, Jr. She is surprised to see that her boyfriend, Devon Hamilton Winters, has returned from Seattle and is waiting for her inside. “So, baby, where were you?” Devon asks again, “I can tell the bed wasn’t slept in.” “I was at the Boutique,” Roxanne replies. “All night?” Devon questions. “Yeah, I, um, I spent the night there,” Roxanne answers. “By yourself?” Devon follows up. Roxanne isn’t going to deny what she did. “No, I wasn’t alone,” she admits, “Devon… I have something to confess: I cheated on you.”

Scene 6

Tucker waits at a table at the Athletic Club for Jill Abbott to arrive. “I’m here,” Jill announces the obvious. “Have a seat,” Tucker instructs her. Jill is curious about why Tucker invited her. “So is this business or personal?” she inquires. “Business for me; personal for you,” Tucker states. “Well, that has me intrigued,” Jill admits. “It should,” Tucker replies, “What if I told you that, as we speak, Paul Williams is in New York to track down a possible lead in locating your birth parents?” Jill doesn’t know what to say.

Scene 7

In the Newman break room, Michael elaborates to Victoria about the Guardian Ad Litem’s role in determining Reed’s custody. “Once the custody evaluation is complete – meaning all the interviews have been conducted and the homes visits are over -- the Guardian submits a report to the Court,” Michael explains. “Recommending who should get custody?” Victoria clarifies. “And a proposed visitation schedule that is in the child’s best interests,” Michael adds, “‘Best interests,’ being the magic words…” “But even if Roseanne says something against me, we can still challenge it in court, right?” Victoria asks for reassurance.

Michael searches for the right words. “The judge should take what she says in the report into account, but Roseanne’s recommendation should not relieve the Court of its duty to consider all the testimony at the hearing before making a custody ruling.” “I sense a ‘but’ coming…,” Victoria says nervously. “Look, Victoria: even though the judge makes the final decision regarding placement, legal custody and visitation, in reality, the judge usually adopts the Guardian’s recommendations,” Michael admits to her, “The Guardian is seen to be an independent witness without any personal stake in the outcome. That’s why I told you that how you relate your case to her is most important.” “So I screwed up big time,” Victoria realizes, “By telling Roseanne off earlier, I could have just screwed my chances of ever getting my son back.”

Scene 8

JT continues his meeting with Alex at the Coffee House. “There’s been numerous examples of how the Newmans are a bad influence on Reed,” JT states. “Give me a few,” Alex requests. “Well, their involvement in kidnapping Adam and keeping him hostage at the cabin,” JT cites. Alex nods. “I’ve been reading up about that,” she says. “Yeah, I’m so sick of the Newmans and the way they think they’re above the law… I don’t want my son learning that kind of stuck-up attitude from them.”

“Victor… he’s become so cold and calculating,” JT continues, “He schemes to get what he wants, and he doesn’t care who gets caught in the crossfire… even if it’s his own family. He’s hurt Victoria so many times, and if he would turn against his own children, then he’d definitely turn against his own grandson if it suited him. There’s no way I want my son to have anything to do with a man like that, and I don’t see how the Guardian or the judge could disagree with me.”

Scene 9

At their Rent House, Devon responds to Roxanne’s confession that she was unfaithful to him. “You cheated on me?” Devon repeats, with little emotion, “Come on, Roxy… you wouldn’t do that.” He’s still in denial. “Don’t you see? That’s why I did it, Devon!” Roxanne shouts, “Because every time I thought about you, I couldn’t get the image of you and… her – you and Tyra – out of my mind. It is engrained in my memory. And you went to Seattle and stayed with her. Even after I told you how I felt.” “So you wanted to get back at me?” Devon interjects. “I wanted to do something extreme to show you that I wouldn’t tolerate being cheated on again.” “Hold up… I said ‘no’ to Tyra,” Devon defends himself, “I admit… she came on to me, and that’s why I’m here with you right now. I turned her down.” “Congratulations!” Roxanne replies sarcastically, “You should have said that the first time!” “I know that!” Devon shouts, “But we’re not talking about that time. We’re talking about this time. And while I was thinking about us and how I would never hurt you like that again, you were in bed with another guy.” Roxanne doesn’t know how to respond.

“Who was it? How did it happen?” Devon demands. “None of that even matters right now,” Roxanne fires back, “The point is… now we’re even.” “So just because I was unfaithful one time last year, you get one free sample of another guy? Is that how you’re justifying this?” Devon asks. “Yeah… I guess it is!” Roxanne shouts. “I have to get out of here!” Devon replies and he storms out of the house.

Scene 10

Mackenzie, Reed, and Summer are still at the book store together. Mackenzie spots Roseanne, the Guardian Ad Litem. “Excuse me,” she says, “Hi, I’m not sure if you remember me…” “Of course, I remember!” Roseanne replies, “We met here before. And this, of course, is Reed…” “That’s right, and this is his cousin, Summer,” Mackenzie says, “We’re giving JT some quiet time so he can work from home.” She turns to Reed and Summer. “Why don’t you two go check out the books on that shelf over there?” she suggests, “but stay where I can see you…” The children obey, leaving Roseanne and Mackenzie alone.

“I know it’s not my place to say this, but I just want you to know that I support JT one-hundred percent,” Mackenzie tells Roseanne, “I’ve seen first-hand the effects that Victoria’s poor decision-making has had on Reed, and quite frankly, he deserves better.” “I appreciate your input, but we really shouldn’t be talking about this right now,” Roseanne says. Mackenzie nods. “Of course,” she replies. “Have a nice day,” Roseanne wishes her, “and please… when you see Mr. Hellstrom, remind him that I’ll be observing his interactions with Reed in his home next week.” “He already knows,” Mackenzie says, “but I’ll definitely mention it.”

While Reed is looking at a book, Summer has been watching Mackenzie and Roseanne. Reed and Summer rejoin Mackenzie after Roseanne leaves. “That lady you were talking to,” Summer realizes, “I think I’ve seen her before…”

Scene 11

At the Athletic Club, Jill reacts to Tucker’s revelation that private investigator Paul Williams is currently in New York following a lead to her birth parents. “That’s – that’s not possible,” Jill stammers, “Paul never officially took the case… he said he was too busy with his son. That even if he looked into it, it was too much of a long shot to get my hopes up over.” “He told you that because Katherine already got to him before you did, and he didn’t want a conflict of interest,” Tucker states. “How do you know this?” Jill demands. “Because Katherine and Paul came to me for help in locating Charlotte Ramsey, since I helped her to disappear after I convinced her to lie and say that Katherine’s baby was a daughter,” Tucker admits, “Charlotte’s memory isn’t the greatest these days, but I managed to find out from her where her sister Eileen is living.” “I remember, Paul was never able to track her down before,” Jill says. “That’s right, but since Charlotte can’t – or won’t – talk about that time period of her life, finding Eileen is the next best way to determine if Charlotte ever took another baby to the orphanage or if she knows how you and I were mixed up,” Tucker speculates. “If Charlotte was somehow involved in taking me to the adoption agency too, then maybe she mentioned something to her sister,” Jill understands. “That’s right,” Tucker says.

“Okay, but why are you getting yourself involved in this?” Jill wonders, “And why come to me and tell me if you don’t even know what Paul is gonna turn up. It could be a dead end.” “Yes, it could, but if it isn’t, I want you to be the one to find that out. Look -- Katherine means well, but if Eileen Ramsey can tell you anything about your birth parents or anything that could help lead to them, I don’t think anyone should know that information before you.”

Scene 12

Devon goes to the Coffee House to clear his head. Malcolm Winters, his uncle by adoption, is at the front counter. “Hey Malcolm,” Devon says. Malcolm turns around. “Devon, brother, what’s up?” Malcolm replies, “When did you get back from Seattle?” “First thing this morning,” Devon answers, “I finished up earlier than I expected… wanted to surprise Roxy.” “I saw your girl in here the other day and she didn’t seem herself,” Malcolm informs Devon. They’re interrupted when Malcolm receives his coffee and pays for it. “Thank you,” he says to the barista and he and Devon move away from the counter.

“Hey, man, do you got a minute?” Devon asks Malcolm. “Sure, kid,” Malcolm replies, “What’s on your mind?” “It’s about Roxy,” Devon reveals, “You were saying before… she didn’t seem herself.” “Yeah, you know, she was really concerned about you being away,” Malcolm answers. “That’s why she cheated on me while I was gone,” Devon reveals. “What?” Malcolm reacts. “Yeah, but I guess I deserve it,” Devon admits, “She thought I was cheating on her with Tyra.” “Ana’s mother… the woman you went to visit?” Malcolm clarifies, “Why would Roxanne think that?” “Because I slept with Tyra once before,” Devon confesses, “and it almost destroyed my relationship with Roxy.” “Well, I can relate,” Malcolm says, “Seeing my ex-fiancée back in town… Back when I was in Kenya, the thought of Neil and Alex ate away at me. It’s why I don’t want to be around her. Why I stayed dead for so many years. Because I wanted them to hurt for the part they played in my accident.” “And that’s what Roxy was feeling…,” Devon realizes, “You know, I gotta take off. Thanks a lot, Malcolm.” “Anytime,” Malcolm replies as Devon rushes out.

Scene 13

Alex returns to her suite at the Athletic Club. She’s talking on her cell phone. “Neil, get back to me on that report about the merger. Yeah, thanks,” she says before hanging up.

Alex then pulls out a large collage that she had made for Malcolm’s funeral, sits down on the bed, and glances from picture to picture, reliving all the memories of her time with Malcolm. As she does so, tears begin to stream down her face.

Scene 14

Tucker and Jill continue their conversation about Jill’s birth parents. “Remember, Jill, I know what it’s like to be adopted. To wonder about who your family is… to search for that sense of belonging,” Tucker confides, “I want nothing more than for you to find what you’re looking for.” “And how am I supposed to do that?” Jill presses.

“Paul is in New York looking for Eileen. She goes by Lena Griffin now. Griffin’s her married name. But see, I sent him to Oyster Bay, New York. Wrong Lena Griffin. There’s another Lena Griffin in New York state… she lives in Hicksville. That’s Charlotte Ramsey’s sister. That’s the one you want.” “You lied to Paul?” Jill asks. “I gave him misinformation,” Tucker clarifies, “He’ll discover it was wrong, think it was an honest mistake… and meanwhile, you’ll be getting the answers you want.” “What about you?” Jill says, “What is it that you want out of this? You’re not helping me solely out of the goodness of your heart, are you?” “No, I’m not,” Tucker confirms. “You want something in return?” Jill realizes. “Yes, I do,” Tucker admits again. “And what would that be?” Jill asks curiously. “Let’s just say… with your new executive position at Chancellor, you’re in a better position to influence Katherine than usual,” Tucker states, “When I wanna collect, I’ll let you know.”

Scene 15

JT is at home in his apartment when there’s a knock on the door. It’s Roseanne, there to do an unofficial home visit just as she had done earlier that day for Victoria. “Hi there,” JT says. “Hi Mr. Hellstrom,” Roseanne replies, “May I come in?” JT lets her inside.

“I ran into your friend Mackenzie and your son at Trumble’s,” Roseanne says, “They told me you were working from home.” “Yeah, my boss, Mr. McCall, is being really amenable,” JT informs her. “Tucker seems like a nice man,” Roseanne comments. “You know him?” JT inquires. “We’ve run into each other a few times,” Roseanne admits.

“So can I offer you anything to drink?” JT asks politely. “Oh, no, I’m fine. Thank you,” Roseanne replies, “I won’t stay long. But I just came to make sure that your home was in order… and that you’ve been maintaining a suitable environment for a child…”

Scene 16

Mackenzie takes Reed and Summer with her to visit Lily. “Hey! Mac!” Lily says excitedly, “Thank you so much for stopping by! And you two: Summer, you look adorable in that dress. And Reed, you have gotten so big. You need to stop growing.”

Lily and Mackenzie take Reed and Summer into the twins’ future bedroom, which is almost finished. “So how do you feel?” Lily asks Mackenzie. “Tired… very pregnant, exhausted,” Mackenzie admits, “But it’ll all be so worth it in the end. I know how much you’re looking forward to this… having your own babies.” Lily nods. “I know I say it every time, but Cane and I… we could never thank you enough for this gift that you’re giving us,” she says. “I couldn’t be happier for the two of you,” Mackenzie replies, “I only wish that Cane could be here too.” “Oh, I am not giving up on Cane coming back home where he belongs,” Lily says confidently, “You know, we still talk on the phone every day, and some days, I have to stop myself from buying a plane ticket to Australia. I need to be here, though, for when the babies are born, and I need to be with my family, and that includes Cane.”

Scene 16

Devon returns home to the Rent House, and Roxanne, who has just gotten out of the shower, is waiting by the door for him. Neither one says a word, but they both stare at each other for a few moments. There is tension in the air as Roxanne eagerly waits for Devon to say something… anything that will let her know what he’s thinking about them and their future. She gets her answer when Devon, still silent, walks over to her and gives her a hug…

Scene 17

Jill has returned home to the Chancellor Estate and is standing in the living room. She’s talking on the phone. “Yes, I’d like to book a flight please,” she announces, “The first flight out of here to New York…”

Scene 18

Victoria has just arrived at JT’s apartment to pick up Reed. “I saw Roseanne leaving here,” Victoria says, “I guess that means you just had your surprise visit.” “I did,” JT answers, “I take it she came to see you already then.” “Yeah, first thing this morning,” Victoria replies, and then neither of them says another word for a few moments.

“The kids are out with Mackenzie, I suppose,” Victoria says, breaking the silence. “That’s right,” JT confirms, “I had a meeting with my lawyer. Mac took them over to Trumble’s.” “That sounds nice,” Victoria replies cordially. “Yeah, they had this big sale down there,” JT explains, “Reed was really excited to pick out some new books.” Victoria smiles. “Look at us,” she says, “For once, having a civil conversation about our son… I don’t suppose you’d be willing to drop the custody case.” She says it with a sarcastic tone, but she’s serious. Her subtle suggestion doesn’t work on JT.

“Look, I know that you think I’m out to get you, but I’m not,” he replies. “But Roseanne is,” Victoria insists, “She has had something against me since Day One. No matter what I say or do, I know she’ll just tell the court to keep Reed with you.” JT doesn’t want to hear it. “That’s ridiculous,” he fires back, “She’s unbiased and professional. If that’s what her recommendation is, then it only proves she knows how to do her job. And you’d only have yourself to blame.” “Obviously, I spoke too soon about us having a civil conversation!” Victoria shouts, “You know, you really have become heartless!” She insults her ex-husband.

Before JT can respond to her accusation, Mackenzie returns with Reed and Summer. “Um, do you think you can keep it down?” she asks, “We can hear you from outside.” JT and Victoria are suddenly very embarrassed in front of the kids. “Mommy… why are you and Daddy fighting?” Reed asks quietly. Victoria bends down and hugs him. “We’re not fighting,” she lies, “We’re just talking about something. And it got louder than it should have.” “Yeah, sorry you had to hear that, buddy,” JT adds.

Scene 19

Alex leaves her suite at the Athletic Club and knocks on the room next door – Malcolm’s suite. “May I come in?” she asks politely. Without speaking, Malcolm lets her inside. “Just hear me out, okay?” Alex begins, “I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about us, and I think that it’s time I give you back this…” She reveals the engagement ring that Malcolm had given to her eight years ago, and gives it back to him. “You kept this?” Malcolm asks, “After all these years?” “I couldn’t bear to part with it when I thought you’d died,” Alex responds, “But now, here you are, in the flesh, standing right in front of me, and I’ve come to realize what I know you’ve already known for a long time now.” “Which is?” Malcolm asks. “We have to just let each other go. Release our anger, our sorrow, all our feelings,” Alex says, “Maybe eight years too late, but we have to do it.”

Scene 20

Michael visits Lily to give her some important news. “Michael, hi… please come in,” Lily says. “Thank you,” Michael replies as he steps inside, “You look lovely, by the way.” “Thanks,” Lily accepts the compliment, “So… um, what brings you by? Is this about Cane?” “Yes,” Michael confirms, “But first let me just say that I felt like I failed before when I couldn’t prevent Cane from being deported… This is one case that I wanted to win… not because of my reputation or my competitiveness… but because your family has always been a friend to mine, and because you and Cane deserve all the happiness in the world.” “I know you did everything that you could,” Lily tells him. “I thought so too,” Michael says, “Until I realized that there was one loose end that needed to be tied up. Now, at first, it was such a long shot at the time that I didn’t want to say anything. In fact, it was such a long shot I almost didn’t even take the time to pursue it.” “But now…?” Lily presses. But now, there’s hope,” Michael reveals. “I’m getting goosebumps,” Lily tells him. “Bear in mind that this is far from a sure thing,” Michael reminds her, “But I’ve been working with a private investigator from down under, and we now have evidence that suggests that Cane’s father was an American citizen.” Lily’s eyes light up. “Which would mean… that Cane has duel citizenship,” she realizes. “Exactly,” Michael smiles.

Scene 21

Devon continues to hold Roxanne in his arms for a few moments. “I’m sorry,” he finally says, “I’m the one who needs to apologize… I pushed you away so far that you went straight to another man, and I never meant for that to happen.” “I didn’t want it to,” Roxanne cries. Devon comforts her. “Now, I know for real how you felt when you found me and Tyra together, and I am so sorry for making you feel that way,” Devon apologizes again, “but maybe I needed that so I could realize how much I hurt you.” “So can you forgive me?” Roxanne asks, through her tears. “I don’t wanna lose you. You know that,” Devon assures her, “So yes, I forgive you. Now, let’s put Tyra and whoever it was that you slept with, behind us. And let’s focus only on us. We had an anniversary a few days ago, so let’s exchange presents, and not just to celebrate three years of being together. But to recommit to each other so that something like this never has to happen again…”

Scene 22

Alex returns to Malcolm’s suite, now holding the collage that she had made for his funeral eight years ago. “What’s that?” Malcolm inquires. “You know what I think would be really therapeutic for the two of us?” Alex asks, “This collage… all the memories of our engagement… let’s burn it together.” Malcolm takes a look at Alex’s work. “Wait… I’ve never seen this before,” he tells her. “You were supposed to be dead, remember?” Alex replies jokingly. “Right…,” Malcolm chuckles. It’s the first time they’ve been able to joke about the situation.

“We had some wonderful times together, Malcolm,” Alex recalls, “and with Nate.” “Yeah, we did,” Malcolm agrees, continuing to look at the collage, “But you can’t keep living in the past.” “No, I can’t,” Alex nods, “When I think about you now, I don’t want to think about Malcolm Winters, my ex-fiancé. We’ll never know what might have happened between us, the kind of life that we could have lived if we got married, but I like to think that we were brought back into each other’s lives for a reason… so that we can be friends. What do you say about that, Malcolm?” “Ah, what the hell?” Malcolm replies, “Why not?” “Alright, then. Let’s burn this collage,” Alex repeats, “but then let’s have our first picture taken together in eight years. Our first picture as friends…”

Scene 23

Michael and Lily continue to discuss Cane’s legal situation. “So what would this mean for Cane?” Lily asks eagerly. “Well, if we can prove that Cane is indeed half-American, it wouldn’t solve everything, so don’t thank me yet,” Michael admits, “Cane would be able to return to the country, yes, but then there’d still be the matter of identity theft, although the charges would be a lot less serious since Phillip knowingly gave Cane his identification to use, and since Cane can’t be accused of using that information to masquerade as a US citizen, which was the main reason why he was deported.” “Could Cane face prison time for this?” Lily wants to know. “Normally, being convicted of identity theft carries a prison sentence of two or three years, but as I said, Cane’s circumstances are different,” Michael explains, “This wasn’t so much identity theft as it was identity borrowing, with consent, and we’d have Jill and Katherine… and you testify to what a blessing it was to have Cane come into their lives, and we’d stress how Cane never took Phillip’s money or the Chancellor name…” “So you think that Cane could beat the charges?” Lily clarifies. “I don’t like to speculate, but I think it’d be doable,” Michael admits.

Next Time on The Young and The Restless

Billy Abbott is speaking to his secret wife Victoria Newman out on the patio of the Coffee House. “We can’t let anyone find out we’re married!” Victoria reminds Billy. Billy’s nephew, Kyle Abbott, is secretly watching them through the patio window. It’s not clear how much, if any, he overheard…

Phyllis Newman and Ashley Abbott are talking at the Athletic Club. Phyllis has told Ashley about all the hauntings she’s been experiencing. “Phyllis, that sounds a lot like what Adam did to me last summer,” Ashley realizes, “The MO is almost exactly the same…”

Ricky Williams is at Michael Baldwin’s Apartment. “I guess every family has its secrets,” Ricky states. “You got that right,” Michael agrees. “I was hoping you could help me uncover some of mine,” Ricky reveals, “Starting with my mother…”

Scene 1

It’s early morning and all the lights are off inside Fenmore’s Boutique. The store looks empty, but behind the counter, Scott Grainger, Jr. and Roxanne Porter are laying on the floor after spending the night together. They wake up, rub their eyes and stretch, not sure right away where they are for a few moments. Then it hits them.

“We fell asleep!” Roxanne shouts, “We need to get out of here before today’s workers come in.” “We need to get out of here before my mom comes in!” Scott realizes, “and I have my first assignment for Restless Style to finish. If I don’t get that done this morning, I’m in serious trouble.” They both spring up from the floor in a panic.

Scene 2

Heather Stevens is in her suite at the Athletic Club. She dials a number on her cell phone. “Billy… are you ever gonna call me back?” Heather asks. She’s speaking to his voice mail. “I’m starting to think you’re ignoring me… so prove me wrong. Call me… soon.”

Scene 3

Meanwhile, Billy Abbott, in his trailer, is on the phone with his friend and lawyer, Rafael “Rafe” Torres, who is at the Athletic Club. “We can make this as quick and painless as possible, right?” Billy asks. “You’re getting an annulment, Billy, not a root canal,” Rafe replies, “and as your lawyer, yes, I can make your marriage disappear quickly, but as your friend who knows how much you still love Victoria, I’m telling you, if you go through with this, they’ll be nothing painless about it for you.” “Man, I know you’re a lawyer, but give me a fricken straight answer for cryin’ out loud,” Billy replies. “You answer me first,” Rafe says, “Are you absolutely, positively sure that you want to go through with this annulment?” “No,” Billy immediately answers, “I know, I don’t.” “Then, what are you doing talking to me when you should be talking to Victoria, trying to convince her how you feel?” Rafe encourages Billy. Billy nods in agreement. “Yeah… you’re right, man,” he says, “I’m gonna go over to Victoria’s and demand that she give us another chance.” “Good. You do that,” Rafe agrees. “Yeah… so, um, if we don’t show up for our appointment,” Billy begins. “Things went well,” Rafe deduces. “Yeah, and if we do [show up]…,” Billy says. “Either way, I’m still billing you,” Rafe warns his friend. Billy grins. “Fine, whatever,” he replies.

Scene 4

At the Abbott Manor, Kyle Abbott and his friend Ricky Williams are home alone. [Kyle’s parents Jack Abbott and Diane Jenkins are both away for three days, and he and Ricky tricked them into believing they were staying with Ricky’s father, Paul, who also happens to be away on a business trip].

Kyle walks into the living room eating a slice of cold pizza and drinking a can of soda. “Can you hear that, man?” he asks Ricky who’s sitting in a chair in the living room. “No,” Ricky replies, unsure of what Kyle’s talking about. “That’s the point,” Kyle says, “This place is dead silent… No Abbott family breakfast, where Jack gets on a soapbox and preaches about the importance of family. Nothing. No parents, no curfew, no chores… no rules.” “I like the sound of that,” Ricky smirks. “So what do you wanna do?” Kyle asks, “We can raid the fridge for more soda, play video games, watch some movies, go in the pool, stay up all night…” “Yeah… whatever, man,” Ricky says unenthusiastically, “It’s your house… you pick.”

“Wait a minute,” Kyle has a realization, “Let’s go watch the satellite. Jack totally forgot to block certain channels… hint, hint...” “You mean, like, p***?” Ricky inquires. “Bingo, buddy,” Kyle replies, “Some of the stuff on there is so dirty… Our impressionable young minds shouldn’t be seeing it. But who’s gonna stop us?” He laughs.

Scene 5

Phyllis Newman returns home to the Tack House after not coming home last night. A few moments later, her husband Nicholas Newman comes downstairs and they come face to face for the first time after their argument. They stare at each other in silence for a few seconds. “Hi,” Nick finally says. “Hi,” Phyllis whispers back. “Where’ve you been?” Nick asks, “I’ve been calling and calling. I was worried sick when you didn’t come home last night.” “I went to the Coffee House, and then Daniel’s,” Phyllis replies. “I know that,” Nick says, “I called Daniel, and he told me you were on your way. But then you never came back. You have no idea what went through my mind.” “I’m sorry…,” Phyllis apologizes, “Daniel told me to go home, and I got in the car, but I just couldn’t bring myself to come back yet, so I just drove around for a few hours… I needed to clear my head.”

“I called JT,” Phyllis adds, “Summer’s gonna spend the night at Reed’s again.” “That’s probably best,” Nick agrees. There is silence again. “I’ve been doing some thinking,” Nick admits a few moments later. “Me too,” Phyllis says. Nick continues: “I don’t think it’s fair to blame you for the fact that someone has been harassing because of your past, but I also don’t think it’s fair for our daughter to be put in danger by being around you right now. So I’m taking Summer, and we’re gonna stay somewhere else for a while. I don’t want her to be alone with you here… or anywhere else.” Phyllis is speechless. “Not because I don’t trust you with her,” Nick clarifies, “But because whoever has been stalking you is still out there, and we have no idea when or how they’ll strike next.”

Scene 6

Scott and Roxanne are getting dressed at the Boutique. “I don’t normally do this,” Scott admits as he throws on his pants. “Me either,” Roxanne replies, having a realization of her own, “I mean, I used you… just to get back at my boyfriend. There’s this vengeful side of me that I didn’t even know existed…” “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned,” Scott quotes jokingly. Roxanne smiles. “Shakespeare?” she asks. “Actually, a guy named William Congreve,” Scott explains, “Most people attribute it to Shakespeare, but it actually comes from a few decades after his time.”

“Listen to you… going on about poets,” Roxanne says, “Do you not care that I just said that I used you?” “I’m just as responsible,” Scott tells her, “I don’t even know your last name.” “It’s Porter,” she answers. “Good to know,” Scott says, “So, you know, I used you too, I guess. I haven’t been with anyone in a really long time, and then boom -- out of nowhere, you just threw yourself at me.” “I needed to prove to myself that I could make a man happy,” Roxanne admits, “That he doesn’t need to cheat on me to be satisfied...” “You definitely proved that,” Scott tells her. “Yeah, but I also proved how hard it is for a man to resist temptation. I mean, what if Tyra did the same thing to Devon that I did to you?” “There’s no point in driving yourself even more crazy over this,” Scott answers, “I mean… did you think about Devon once last night?” “No,” Roxanne admits. “Then put him out of your mind until he gets back,” Scott suggests, “And don’t worry about things you can’t control.”

Roxanne hugs Scott. “Can we still be friends?” she asks. “You bet,” Scott agrees. “I won’t want it to become awkward between us,” Roxanne adds. “It won’t,” Scott assures her. “We better get out of here before someone finds us,” Roxanne realizes, “You leave first, and then I’ll go a few minutes later.”

Scene 7

Billy Abbott goes to Victoria Newman’s residence on the Newman Ranch. He knocks on the door and Victoria answers. She’s surprised to see him. “Billy! What are you doing here?” Victoria asks. Billy lets himself inside. “We need to talk,” he announces. “I have nothing more to say,” Victoria replies, “

“You’re not going away, are you?” Victoria realizes. “No,” Billy confirms. “Well, I hope you enjoy our last conversation together as a married couple because after we meet with Rafe, it’s over,” Victoria states. “Why? I could be a good step-father to Reed,” Billy abruptly says. “Why? Do you really need me to go through this again?” Victoria asks. “Yes! I’m a slow learner!” Billy responds. Victoria sighs. “Well, for starters, we’re married, but not living together,” she begins, “Two: we were drunk, no -- way beyond drunk, when we did it. Three: I’ve been keeping it a secret.” “All easily correctable,” Billy replies, “We get remarried – sober, this time. We move in together, and we celebrate our newly re-wedded bliss with our family and friends.” “That sounds wonderful – really, it does, but I can’t make changes like that in my son’s life,” Victoria repeats, “especially in the middle of a custody battle.” “Well, when you could stay at the trailer when you’re on your own and then when you have Reed, you could spend the night here,” Billy suggests, “or I could move in here with you… and stay back at the trailer when Reed’s here.” Victoria laughs at the latter suggestion. “My father would sooner torch the place than allow you to live here,” she says. “Your father doesn’t have to know, missy,” Billy replies. Victoria gives him a look. “Yeah – think about it,” Billy continues, “How much fun we’ll have… sneaking past security every day. I don’t care if your old man were to put guard dogs in front of this place. I’d find a way to get to you.” Victoria doesn’t know how to respond.

“So it’s an imperfect solution!” Billy admits, “We’ll come up with something. Just give up on the annulment and give us a real chance to make things work between us.” Victoria is torn on what to do when she sees how much Billy is willing to fight for them. “Admit it... You’re not ready to give me up yet,” Billy adds. “Oh, I think you’re impossible to give up, Mr. Abbott,” she finally confesses. “I know I’m impossible to give up,” Billy corrects her, “And I feel the same way about you, Mrs. Abbott.” He kisses her on the lips, and after a few moments, in true Billy and Victoria style, they start removing their clothes and continue to kiss on the couch.

Scene 8

Kyle and Ricky come back downstairs to the living room of the Abbott Manor after having watched adult content on the satellite. “Damn! That was the hottest girl in the world and the luckiest guy in the world,” Kyle comments. “You can say that again,” Ricky agrees. “That was the hottest girl in the world and the luckiest guy in the world,” Kyle comments. “I didn’t mean it literally,” Ricky says. “I know, but I just can’t get it out of my mind,” Kyle replies. He turns to Ricky, a big smirk on his face. “You enjoyed it, didn’t you, Rick?” he asks, “And you said I couldn’t corrupt you…” “I’m still not gonna go out and sleep with the first girl I see,” Ricky informs Kyle. “That is exactly what I’m gonna do,” Kyle proudly announces, “Well, as long as she meets my criteria… I suddenly have a craving for coffee so I can check out all the college chicks movin’ into their dorms… and I’m anxious to try out my new cards.” “Cards?” Ricky inquires.

“Yeah, I wasted all of Jack’s ink printin’ these out this morning,” Kyle replies as he pulls out a ‘business card’ and hands it to Ricky. “‘Kyle Abbott… the King of Genoa City,’” Ricky reads aloud from the card that features a picture of Kyle with his phone number and e-mail address. “That’s somethin’ I came up with during my interview yesterday,” Kyle announces, “What do you think?” “Are you seriously gonna hand these out to people?” Ricky asks. “Not people… girls,” Kyle explains, “Hot girls, ages 15 to 20, give or take a year… “ Ricky makes a face. “Tag along, Rick,” Kyle says, “Maybe you’ll get lucky too…”

Scene 9

Scott returns to the Athletic Club so that he can work on writing the Restless Style cover story in his room. He runs into Daniel Romalotti, Jr. in the lobby. “Woah, look at you,” Daniel begins, “Your hair’s a mess – no offense. Your clothes are wrinkled. You haven’t shaved this morning. Something tells me you haven’t been to your room all night.” “You got that right,” Scott admits. He’s eager to tell someone. “Do tell,” Daniel encourages him. “It’s funny… all the times I’ve said I wanted to find a girlfriend,” Scott says, “Well, I definitely wasn’t looking for what happened last night to happen, but the opportunity presented itself, and I was not about to put the brakes on.”

“Well, you sure are lucky,” Daniel tells Scott, “It’s been a long four months without Amber and I’d kill to have a night like you just did… So are you gonna tell me her name?” “Nope,” Scott answers. “Not even one hint? What’s up with that, bro?” Daniel asks, “Are you at least planning to see her again?” “The thing is she’s kind of… well, she’s already with someone else,” Scott confesses. “Please tell me it wasn’t Jana,” Daniel says, fearing the worst. “No, it wasn’t Jana,” Scott immediately clarifies, a little surprised at Daniel’s suggestion, “Come on, man. Jana and I are just friends.”

Scene 10

Nick and Phyllis continue to discuss their living arrangements. Phyllis is emotionally hurt, but she is through fighting. “Where are you gonna go?” she finally asks. “Up to the Main House,” Nick answers, “That’s where Noah and Faith are.” “Oh, and that also happens to be where Sharon is,” Phyllis realizes, “So is that how it’s gonna be, Nick? Things get tough between us again and you go running right back to Sharon?” Nick rolls his eyes and scoffs. “I am so tired of hearing that from you over and over. I am not running back to Sharon,” he insists, “We can’t stay at Vick’s because she’s getting a visit from the custody evaluator, and I’m not leaving the Ranch because you’re here and my other children are here. So I am doing what’s best for everyone in this situation.” “Except for us,” Phyllis remarks. “I’m not leaving you,” Nick replies, “I’m just protecting our daughter.” “Call it what you want, Nick,” Phyllis says, “but it sounds like a trial separation to me…”

Scene 11

Kyle and Ricky have arrived at the Coffee House and are sitting at the table out on the patio. “So guess what? I’m staying in GC permanently,” Ricky announces, but Kyle’s attention is elsewhere. He’s openly staring at two teen girls who walk by on the patio. “…pool party at Noah Newman’s tomorrow…,” one of them mentions to the other as they are talking.

“Shhh, you hear that, Rick?” Kyle asks, ignoring what Ricky was saying. “What?” Ricky replies. “Newman’s throwing a pool party tomorrow,” Kyle answers, “This changes our plans a little.” “You’re gonna crash Noah’s party?” Ricky fears. “No, we are gonna throw our own party,” Kyle tells Ricky, “A real party… at my pool.”

Scene 12

Billy and Victoria lie together on the couch, underneath a blanket. Their clothes are scattered all over the floor. “So this means the annulment is off, right?” Billy laughs. “That still doesn’t mean anyone can know about us,” Victoria stresses. Billy gives Victoria a few more kisses on the cheek and lips. “You’re enjoying this, aren’t you?” Victoria asks. “You know what I am enjoying? That you’re smiling,” Billy answers, “Because you’ve forgotten all about your custody problems, haven’t you… now that you’re with me…”

Before Victoria can answer, there’s a loud knock at the front door, which catches both of them off-guard. “One moment!” Victoria shouts from the couch, “Who is it?” “Roseanne Ryerson!” she shouts back from outside the house. Victoria springs up from the couch. “Oh my God! That’s the Guardian Ad Litem. She cannot find you here!” she exclaims, “Get upstairs. Quick!!” “I need my clothes!” Billy insists. “Okay, I’ll help you,” Victoria says frantically as she bends down and tosses him his shirt. Billy picks up a few other layers of clothing, puts them in a pile around his waist, and then runs upstairs to hide.

“I’m coming! Just give me a second!” Victoria shouts through the door as she quickly throws her clothing back on. She notices one of Billy’s socks still on the floor and quickly kicks it under the couch. “Ms. Newman?” Roseanne shouts through the door again. “One moment!” Victoria shouts back. Now, she’s getting perfume out of her purse and spraying it around the room.

Victoria now rushes over to the door and opens it. “Hi!” she says in a fake tone. “Good morning,” Roseanne greets her. “Um… I thought the home visit wasn’t for another couple days,” Victoria says, “I don’t have Reed with me.” “I’m aware of that,” Roseanne answers, “I always find it good practice to pop in a few days before the official visit. It’s the only way to get an accurate look at the child’s living environment… to make sure that the parents aren’t drastically altering their living conditions when the child is present or when I’m here to evaluate.” “I see,” Victoria answers nervously. “You don’t have a problem with that, do you, Ms. Newman?” Roseanne asks. “No, not at all,” Victoria lies as she ushers Roseanne inside, “Please come in.” “Thank you,” Roseanne replies. “Why don’t we start downstairs?” Victoria suggests so that Billy has an opportunity to leave the house. “No, upstairs, please,” Roseanne says, “I’d like to see the state of Reed’s bedroom here…”

Scene 13

Daniel cuts through the park on his way to Kevin and Jana’s Apartment and happens to see Jana sitting on a park bench. “Jana?” Daniel tries to get her attention. Jana looks up at him, and it takes a moment for her to remember who he is. “I’m sorry. I almost didn’t recognize you,” she admits, “Daniel, right?” “Yeah, that’s right,” Daniel replies. “Phyllis’s son. Kevin’s best friend,” Jana recalls, “Artist, and photographer at Restless Style. Have I got it down?” “You sure do. Someone’s been studying,” Daniel comments. “Yeah, I think I’m at the point where I can get by if someone I used to know comes up to me,” Jana says, “Sometimes I just need a few moments to piece things together… like with you, right now.” “Well, I’m glad you remember who I am,” Daniel begins, “because I was actually just about to come see you when I saw you sitting here.” “You were?” Jana asks out of surprise. “Yeah! I was just thinking how we really need to catch up… get to know one another again,” Daniel tells her, “After all, you’re married to my best friend. So what have you been up to?… What’d you do yesterday?” Daniel is fishing for information. “Yesterday, um, I was with Scott,” Jana admits, which is not the answer that Daniel wanted to hear.

Scene 14

Kyle and Ricky are writing the address of the Abbott Manor on the back of all Kyle’s cards so that Kyle can advertise his own party to the young crowd at the Coffee House. “Aren’t you supposed to be working here or something?” Ricky asks. “Not ‘til tomorrow,” Kyle answers, “but Jack isn’t here to make me go… and now I got this party planned.” “What if Kevin calls your dad?” Ricky questions. “It’s not like he’s gonna fly back anyway,” Kyle says. “But he could call your aunt or uncle and they could ruin everything.” “Let them try,” Kyle replies, unconcerned, “I told myself these next few days would be no work and all play, and no one is gonna stop me.”

He stands up, goes inside the Coffee House, and shouts, “Hey, everybody! Pool party at my place tomorrow!” He hands his card to a few people in the store. “I thought the party was at Noah Newman’s?” someone says. “Newman’s party’s cancelled,” Kyle lies, “Make sure everyone knows to come to the Abbotts’ instead.”

Kyle approaches the trio of college girls and shamelessly hits on them. “If you want a private tour of the Pool House today, you’re all invited,” he says as he hands them his cards.

Scene 15

At the Coffee House, Kyle continues to hit on a trip of college girls. “Are you trying to figure out if I’m jailbait?” he asks them. “Are you?” one of the girls asks. “No one would know,” Kyle replies. “So you’re still a minor?” another one clarifies. “If I am, that’s just a minor detail…,” Kyle says, being more evasive this time, “Besides, I don’t do what’s legal. I do what I want.” The girls seem to lose interest: “Come back when you’re 18,” one of them tells Kyle.

Another girl, who had overheard Kyle, approaches him. “My boyfriend and I have hit a bit of a rough patch,” she says, “It gets lonely, if you know what I mean.” Kyle takes one look at her and decides that she’ll do. “Well, you know what they say the cure to loneliness is, don’t you?” he says. “Anti-depressants?” the girl jokes. “Kyle Abbott,” Kyle replies. She laughs. “So how old are you anyway?” the girl asks. “I’m 17… I’m big for my age,” Kyle boasts. “I’m gonna hold you to that,” the girl tells him as they leave the Coffee House together. On their way out, Kyle discretely gives Ricky a ‘thumbs up.’ Ricky stays behind.

Scene 16

Victoria takes Roseanne upstairs to show her around the house. Roseanne notices Victoria glancing around the hallway, trying to figure out where Billy is. “Is there a problem, Ms. Newman?” she asks. “No… no problem at all,” Victoria replies unconvincingly. She knows she’s acting like she’s hiding something. “Um, Reed’s room is right over here,” Victoria mutters as she points to a bedroom door. She turns back for a moment, and notices Billy peeking out of one of the other rooms across the hall.

Victoria frantically waves her arm to get Billy’s attention and signal him to run downstairs. A fully-dressed Billy takes advantage of the opportunity and races to the staircase. Victoria breathes a sigh of relief and heads into Reed’s bedroom.

Scene 17

Ricky is using one of the Coffee House computers. On a search engine, he searches up ‘Patty Williams’ ‘murder’ and quickly scrolls through the results. There are too many of them. “Okay… how about this?” he says aloud as he narrows the search to ‘Patty Williams’ ‘Genoa City.’ A few articles instantly come up, with headlines relating to Patty impersonating Emily Peterson, Patty shooting Victor, Colleen’s death, and so on. He clicks on the first article but it requires an online subscription. “Of course,” he says aloud, disappointed.

Scene 18

Daniel and Jana continue their conversation at the park. “You were with Scott yesterday?” Daniel questions, “What were you doing together?” He’s jumping to all the wrong conclusions. “Can you keep a secret, Daniel?” Jana asks, “Because this is something that I really don’t want Kevin to know yet…” Daniel thinks Jana is about to admit sleeping with Scott, which, of course, never happened. “What is it?” he asks hesitantly. “My results came in yesterday… from the brain scan,” Jana reveals, “And it was what we thought. I have a severe case of retrograde amnesia. The doctor said it would be a miracle for me to ever get my memory back.” “Wow, that’s tough. I’m sorry,” Daniel apologizes, “So… I guess, you needed ‘comfort’ after you found out… and that’s where Scott came in.” Jana doesn’t quite understand what Daniel is implying. “Yeah, he took me to my doctor’s appointment,” she says, “He’s been such a great help to me. Kevin was at work when they called and said that the results were in, and I knew that I could count on Scott to be there for me and give me what I needed.” “Which was?” Daniel probes her. “A friend,” Jana replies, “I just needed a friend. Someone to talk to afterwards. And talking to Scott helped me realize that I need to stay with Kevin and rebuild our marriage.” “I’m glad that’s how you feel,” Daniel says before clarifying, “So you and Scott just talked… that’s all that happened between the two of you?” Jana is confused why Daniel is asking all kinds of questions. “That’s right… he took me to my appointment, we talked afterwards, and then he took me home,” Jana explains, “What did you think happened between the two of us?”

Scene 19

It’s now noon-hour, and Ricky is still hard at work researching his aunt Patty Williams on the Coffee House computer. He gets onto an article about Patty’s involvement with Colleen Carlton’s death, which seems to have happened exactly as Abby Carlton had told him.

Ricky’s older half-sister, Heather, arrives at the Coffee House and sees him at the computer. “Hey, little brother!” she exclaims, “What are you up to?” Ricky quickly closes the Internet window. “Hey,” he says back, “Nothin’ much. Um, just surfin’ the web…” “I hear you’re staying at Jack’s… with Kyle,” Heather makes conversation. “And his parents are there, of course,” Ricky lies unconvincingly. “Oh, of course,” Heather nods, seeming to play along, “So where’s Kyle?” Heather asks. “In bed,” Ricky answers, knowing that Kyle took the girl he met back to the Pool House. “Of course,” Heather replies, “Being the Assistant DA, I’ve forgotten what it’s like to be able to sleep in.” “I really doubt he’s sleeping right now,” Ricky clarifies.

Their conversation is interrupted by Rafe, who sees Heather talking to Ricky and decides to say hello. “Heather, hi,” he says. “Hey Rafe! Um, this is my younger brother that I told you about,” Heather tells Rafe, “Rafe Torres… meet Ricky Williams.” “Hi,” they greet each other and Rafe shakes Ricky’s hand. “Are you…?” Ricky is about to ask him something when Rafe jumps the gun and admits, “Yes, I’m gay!” He thought that Ricky had somehow picked up on his sexuality. Ricky isn’t sure what to say. “I was about to ask if you were Mexican,” he finally mutters. “Oops, I’m sorry,” Rafe apologizes, “That just came out. No pun intended.” Heather can tell that Rafe is embarrassed. “Ricky’s mother is Mexican,” she adds, trying to steer the conversation back, “His real name is Ricardo.” “My real name’s Rafael,” Rafe informs Ricky. “Cool,” Ricky replies. “Yeah, there aren’t too many Mexicans in Genoa City,” Rafe comments, “It’s nice to have you here.” Rafe turns to Heather.

“Um, can I talk to you for a second?” he asks her. “Yeah, sure,” she agrees. “Out on the patio,” Rafe informs her before turning back to Ricky, “Nice to meet you, Ricky.” “Same here,” Ricky replies. “Well, I’ll see you later,” Heather says to her younger half-brother, “Have fun at Jack’s.”
“I sure will,” Ricky responds.

Scene 20

Kyle has taken his latest girl back to the Pool House. They’re half-undressed now and are kissing on top of the bed. Suddenly, Billy, looking for Kyle, walks into the Pool House and interrupts their fun. “My virgin eyes!!” Billy calls out sarcastically. Kyle springs up off the bed. “Uncle Billy! What are you doing here?” he shouts. He rushes over to Billy and whispers, “You’re ruining my moment.” Billy smirks. “Everybody’s havin’ close calls today,” he says aloud to himself, “Were you and her about to…?” he asks. “Yeah,” Kyle confirms before Billy can finish his question. “Ah, how cute. My little nephew’s all grown up!” Billy comments as he jokingly pats Kyle on the head. Kyle frowns and quickly fixes his hair. “A word of advice, nephew: Lock the door,” Billy warns, “You’re lucky it was me – your cool uncle - and not one of your parents who walked in.” “No one is supposed to be here,” Kyle replies, “including you.” “Including you,” Billy reminds his nephew, “I went to Paul’s and when you weren’t there, so I came here looking for you.” “I don’t need a babysitter,” Kyle snaps. “I see that,” Billy comments, “But remember… you don’t need a baby either.” “I know what I’m doing,” Kyle replies, “This isn’t my first rodeo.” “I didn’t say it was,” Billy replies. It’s getting awkward and Billy decides to leave them alone.

“Just, um… finish up here… and then meet me in the Main House…,” he instructs Kyle. “You’re not gonna tell my parents, right?” Kyle asks. Billy hesitates. “No, I’m all for my nephew having a bit of fun,” he answers, “as long as you know…” Kyle cuts him off again. “Yeah, yeah. I told you… I don’t need any lessons,” Kyle repeats as he shoos Billy out of the room, “Just get out of here.” “Alright, be careful,” Billy stresses, “I’m much too young to be a great uncle anytime soon.” “Trust me, you are,” Kyle replies. “Yeah… you know what I mean,” Billy says, referring to the other meaning of great uncle. As he leaves the Pool House, Billy waves back at the girl. “Have fun!” he tells her.

Scene 21

Roxanne and Jana are talking in the park. “Jana… hi,” Roxanne says, “I need someone I can talk to that I know won’t judge me.” “What is it?” Jana inquires, concerned. “I slept with our friend Scott last night,” Roxanne announces. Jana is taken aback, but quickly realizes why Daniel was asking questions about her and Scott. “Oh...,” she replies, “Um… how was it?” She doesn’t know what else to say. “Amazing!” Roxanne gushes, “‘Scotty the Hottie’ definitely lived up to his name. Girl, that boy is so fine.” “I know, but I thought we had said that we could look, but not touch,” Jana reminds Roxanne, “What about your boyfriend?” “Devon? I am only dealing him the same card he dealt me,” Roxanne replies, “I want him to know what it feels like to be cheated on.” “So where does that leave you and Scott?” Jana curiously inquires. “It was just a one-time thing,” Roxanne answers, “We both knew that going in… I know this all sounds so horrible, and believe me, I’ve never done anything like it before, especially when I’ve had a boyfriend. But I don’t regret what I did with Scott. And I don’t know whether to be ashamed of myself for admitting that, or whether to congratulate myself for doing something for me instead of just sitting at home and worrying about Devon and Tyra.” “It sounds like you have some things to work out with Devon,” Jana states, “I think I can relate…”

Scene 22

Back at the Tack House, Nick comes downstairs with his suitcase packed. As he drops the suitcase in the doorway, he turns back to Phyllis. “This isn’t forever…,” he assures her, but she doesn’t seem convinced.

Scene 23

Meanwhile, Roxanne returns home to the Rent House, wearing the same clothes she had on the previous day. She opens the front door and immediately sees her boyfriend Devon Hamilton Winters waiting for her in the living room… sitting on the new couch that she purchased while he was away. “Devon…,” she gasps out of surprise that he returned early from Seattle. “Roxy… where have you been?” Devon asks.

Scene 24

Scott is in his suite at the Athletic Club, furiously typing up the Restless Style cover story on Noah Newman and Kyle Abbott. “And… done,” he says aloud as he finishes the last line. He takes out his cell phone and dials a number. Billy answers the phone from the living room of the Abbott Manor, where he’s waiting for Kyle to meet him. “Billy Abbott,” he says. “Billy – hey, it’s Scott. I have the cover story finished and I’m sending it to you right now,” Scott informs his boss. Billy is surprised. “Already? You work fast my friend,” he comments, “This must have been an all-nighter…” “Actually, I had a different kind of all-nighter,” Scott says, somewhat bragging about his time with Roxanne again. Billy catches on and immediately grins. “Did you get yourself a girl?” he teases, “Good for you, buddy… I think there’s something in the air today…”

Scene 25

Back at the Pool House, Kyle and his latest girl have gotten dressed, and the girl is about to leave. “I hope you get lonely again,” Kyle comments. “I’ll call you,” she assures him. “Call often,” Kyle adds. She’s about to leave when she turns back: “Oh, by the way, my name’s Diana,” she informs him. Kyle doesn’t say anything. He’s too proud of himself for getting another notch on his belt.

After Diana leaves, Kyle jumps onto the bed and reaches over into the top drawer of one of the nightstands. He pulls out a notebook, and flips to somewhere in the middle of the book to find a blank page. The previous page has a title that says ‘Sully,’ although the specific notes can’t be read. Kyle takes out a pen and writes ‘Diana’ as the title of the next entry.

Scene 26

At the Coffee House, Rafe and Heather go out to the patio table. “I must have sounded like such an idiot in front of your brother,” Rafe blasts himself, “Outing myself like that.” “Ricky obviously doesn’t care,” Heather informs her friend. “I know,” Rafe replies, “It’s just… it used to be guys like him that I would worry knew about me and would make fun of me.” “You don’t have to worry about that anymore,” Heather assures him, “You just worry about being yourself… and tell me what you’re doing here all by yourself.”

“I think I’ve officially been stood up by my client,” Rafe answers, realizing Billy and Victoria are not coming and must have decided against the annulment. “Well, I’ll keep you company,” Heather offers. “Yeah, about that… um, Heather -- remember how I told you not to get hung up on Billy?” Rafe says, “I just want you to realize that he’s not ready to be in a relationship with you…” “I think I got the message,” Heather responds, “I don’t know how many times I’ve tried to call him since that night we spent together, and he’s never gotten back to me.” “I’m sorry,” Rafe apologizes. “No, you warned me,” Heather realizes, “And you know what? It’s okay. Because Billy Abbott, he’s alright for a good time… every now and then. But he’s not the one for me… and I don’t think I’m the one for him either.”

Scene 27

Victoria is with Roseanne in Reed’s bedroom. “Now that you’ve seen my son’s room, why don’t we go downstairs, and I’ll show you the kitchen… and all the healthy food that I have for Reed,” Victoria suggests. “I’d like to check out the rest of the upstairs first,” Roseanne replies, which for some reason makes Victoria very frustrated. “Why -- do you think I’m hiding something?” she snaps. “Well, now that you mention it… usually, when people get so defensive…,” Roseanne begins, but Victoria cuts her off. “Maybe I’m defensive because you’re trying to undermine me as a parent. To make me look unstable. Yeah, I know exactly what you’re doing, and I’ve got one question for you: what do you have against me and my family?” Roseanne looks offended.
