Scene 1

At the Abbott Manor, Kyle Abbott lets Ricky Williams into his bedroom. “Why does your mom not want to tell me about my mom?” Ricky asks, clearly frustrated. “I dunno!” Kyle replies, “We were kids then. It’s not like we knew what was going on.” Ricky isn’t even listening. “Damn my boyish looks!” Ricky exclaims, “Just because I look young and naïve doesn’t mean I don’t know when I’m being lied to!” “Chillax, man,” Kyle says, Are you gonna stand there and cry or are you gonna do somethin’ about it?”

“Yeah – is your computer on?” Ricky asks. “Yeah,” Kyle replies. “Look up a lawyer named Baldwin… Michael Baldwin,” Ricky requests. “You couldn’t do this at home?” Kyle asks. “My dad was home last night,” Ricky answers, “He would have seen what I was looking up.” “Clear the history,” Kyle instructs. “I don’t have a computer in my room like you do,” Ricky says, “Ours is right by the living room.” Kyle sits down at his computer, but then gets distracted. “Hey, look at this,” Kyle notices, “My cousin Abby’s online.” “The one who’s grounded?” Ricky asks. “Yeah,” Kyle confirms, “Come on… Let’s talk to her on my webcam…” “What about finding out about my mother?” Ricky asks. Kyle’s clearly not interested. “You can do that later,” he answers, “Whatever info you’re lookin’ for isn’t gonna disappear.” “Fine,” Ricky reluctantly agrees as Kyle starts up a webcam conversation with Abby.

“Hey cuz,” Kyle greets Abby Carlton, “Long time, no see… or talk. Or whatever…” Abby is upset with him because of his fight with Noah Newman when she invited them both to the Boutique. “Whatever is going on between you and Noah, don’t you dare put me in the middle of it!” she immediately shouts to Kyle. “Woah… you need to chill too,” Kyle tells her before turning to Ricky, “She’s the only one who can talk to me like that and get away with it.” Ricky had been off-screen, so Abby didn’t know someone else was there. “Oh, we have company!” she realizes. Ricky peaks into the screen. “Yeah – hey,” “What’s up?” he greets her. “Hey! Who are you?” Abby asks.

Scene 2

That morning, Restless Style owner and editor Billy Abbott and his newest writer Scott Grainger, Jr. are hard at work. Scott approaches Billy. “Hey, how does this sound?” he asks, before reading a line that he wrote for his article, “Your underwear is more than just the first thing you put on in the morning and the last thing you take off at night. It’s the most important thing you wear all day. That’s because, while your underwear covers up a lot, it also reveals more about your personality than you may realize.”

“This is so the kind of thing Chloe would have come up with,” Billy responds. “Is that a good thing, or a bad thing?” Scott asks. “Good. Definitely good,” Billy says, “I like what you have here. But listen… this can be a lot bigger than just what you have here.” “What do you have in mind?” Scott asks. “I wanna make some last minute changes to the issue,” Billy informs Scott, “Turn this into our cover story.” “It’s not exactly earth-shattering news.” “No, but this is,” Billy says, holding up the Genoa City Chronicle article about Kyle Abbott and Noah Newman’s fight at Fenmore’s Boutique, “You got the two crown princes of the Abbott and Newman families, the upper crust of Genoa City, opposing one another. This is a feud that’s been going on all my life. People are interested in this sort of thing.” “So you’re okay with capitalizing on the scandals of your own family members?” Scott asks. “This is what’s hot right now,” Billy insists, “It ties in to your whole underwear article. The guys do the underwear ads for Fenmore’s, and they get the cover story about their fight. It’s perfect. Team Kyle. Team Noah. Add in a girl in the middle. I’m tellin’ you. Total gold…”

Scene 3

At Crimson Lights Coffee House, Phyllis Newman is telling her best friend Michael Baldwin about what happened the previous day when someone attempted to run her and her husband Nicholas Newman down. “Phyllis, you could have been killed!” Michael exclaims. “That’s the thing that I don’t get… they could have hit us at any time… if they just sped up a little,” Phyllis states, “I think whoever it was just trying to scare us.” “Oh, and that makes it any better?” “Of course not!” Phyllis replies, “I am still frightened out of my mind every day… wondering what’s gonna happen next. I’ve done lots of bad things, Michael… things that I wouldn’t want done to me or the people I love.” “Then please tell me you went to the police this time,” Michael says. “Yeah… for all the good it did,” Phyllis mutters. “So you’re no closer to finding out who’s behind this?” Michael asks.

“Nope,” Phyllis states, “What about you? Did you ever have any luck tracing the calls?” “Unidentified number, disposable phone… yadda yadda yadda,” Michael replies, “This person knows what they’re doing.”

Scene 4

Sharon Newman joins her former husband Nicholas Newman and their two children Noah Newman and Faith Newman at the Tack House. Noah’s wearing a sweater. “What are you doing, wearing that, Bud?” Nick asks, “You’re gonna sweat to death in this heat.” “I got tired of looking at all the bandages,” Noah replies, speaking of the injuries he got during a fight with Kyle Abbott. “Well, honey, you have to live with the consequences of your actions,” Sharon says. “Then, if I sweat to death, it’s my own fault,” Noah comments. He goes into the kitchen, leaving Nick and Sharon alone in the living room with Faith.

“I think he’s a little rattled still about what happened yesterday,” Nick tells Sharon. “Yeah, he told me about that,” Sharon replies, “Thank goodness he and Faith weren’t there when that… person tried to run you and Phyllis down.” “Yeah, if there’s anything to be glad about, it’s that,” Nick agrees. “I don’t know what I would have done if anything happened to any of you,” Sharon says.

Scene 5

At Restless Style, Scott runs his headline idea for the new cover story by Billy. “Okay, here it goes,” Scott begins, “’The Newman and Abbott Feud Uncovered’… how do you like it?” “Hold up,” Billy says, “Put Abbott first before Newman.” “Right,” Scott laughs. “Okay, let me start again,” Scott tells his boss, “‘The Abbott and Newman Feud Uncovered: Teenagers Kyle Abbott and Noah Newman expose the most private parts of their lives… and bodies. Only Restless Style is there to shed away the layers of the decade-old family rivalry and find out what’s really underneath the latest feud between two of Genoa City’s most prominent young citizens.” “Perfect… that’s clever. I liked the play on words you got there,” Billy comments, “Yeah, I love it.”

“There is a bit of a problem with this whole idea, though,” Scott informs Billy. “Oh, yeah? What’s that?” Billy asks. “Well, these kids are minors, right?” Scott says, “So you would need their parents’ permission to feature them in the magazine. And do you really think they’re gonna agree to something like this?” “Jack, I can get to agree,” Billy says confidently, “Nick and Sharon’ll be a little harder, but I’m sure I can convince them why it would be good for their son.”

Scene 6

Kyle and Ricky have a conversation with Abby via webcam chat. “This is my trusty sidekick, Rick,” Kyle says, pulling Ricky in closer so that they can both be seen on the webcam. “Ricky Williams,” Ricky introduces himself, holding his hand out to the web cam, “Imaginary handshake,” he jokes. Abby is amused. “Right back at ya,” she replies, holding out her hand, “So Williams -- as in Paul Williams?” she inquires. “That’s my dad,” Ricky answers. “Oh, by the way, I’m Abby Carlton,” she answers, “We’re practically related too, you know? My mom used to date your dad a long time ago…” “Really? I didn’t know that,” Ricky responds. “Yeah, and your psycho aunt was married to my uncle, and killed my sister,” Abby adds. Ricky thinks she’s joking. “Ha, that’s a good one,” he replies, “and I bet she killed your dog too.” Ironically, what he jokingly says is also true. Abby’s expression changes. “I was being serious!” she shouts. Ricky is caught off-guard and suddenly feels very guilty. “Really!? What psycho aunt?” he exclaims. “Patty! Do you have another one I don’t know about?” Abby replies. “I’m just getting used to the Williams part of the family tree,” Ricky tells her, “I didn’t know about any aunt.” “Forget I said anything, okay?” Abby says, calming down. “But did my aunt really murder your sister?” Ricky wants to confirm. “Partly,” Abby clarifies. “Sorry,” Ricky whispers, not sure what else to say. “I don’t blame you for it, though,” Abby tells him, “It’s not your fault your family is screwed up. Our family’s screwed up too. All of our parents are. And they wonder why we turned out like we did.” “Oh, Rick’s not a rebel like us,” Kyle informs her, “He always does exactly what Daddy says. I bet Daddy picks his clothes out and tucks him in at night too…” “He does not!” Ricky protests, “Man, you can be a real jerk sometimes.” “Come on, Rick. It was just a joke,” Kyle insists, “You really need to grow a pair. Get a sense of humor or something.” “Don’t listen to Kyle…,” Abby says, “I think you’re cute the way you are…” Ricky’s face turns a little red.

Suddenly, Abby hears footsteps. “Someone’s coming,” she announces, “I better go.” She logs off of the webcam chat before either Kyle or Ricky can say anything. Ricky turns to Kyle. “Do you really think she thinks I’m cute?” he asks. “Believe me, cute is not a compliment,” Kyle explains, “You do not wanna be seen as cute. Cute is the same as pathetic.” “No, cute is the same as attractive,” Ricky insists. Kyle smirks. “Oh, you still have so much to learn, Young One,” he tells Ricky, “So much to learn…”

Scene 7

Victor knocks on Abby’s door and comes inside. “Where were those voices coming from?” he inquires. “Oh, I was on my webcam,” Abby answers. “Who were you talking to?” Victor follows up. “I have a feeling, if I told you, you’d get mad,” Abby decides. “Ryder Callahan?” Victor asks point-blank. “No,” Abby replies, leaving out that she called him earlier, “My cousin Kyle, who you’ll probably forbid me from talking to too. Because of what happened with Noah…” “I don’t like that punk anymore than I like your two obnoxious uncles,” Victor admits, “but you are an Abbott after all too, so I can’t stop you from talking to him.” “Thank you,” Abby says quietly, glad that he didn’t start an argument. “I thought I heard another voice,” Victor states. “That was, uh, Ricky,” Abby adds, “Paul’s son.” “Paul Williams?” Victor asks. “Yep,” Abby confirms. “Well, I’ll be damned,” Victor says, “Everybody’s long lost sons are coming back to Genoa City.” Abby nods. “Nice boy?” Victor inquires. “Yeah, so far,” Abby says with a smile, “I mean… I like him a lot.” “Hmm,” Victor nods, “How about that?”

Scene 8

Billy and Scott go to the Abbott Manor to talk to Jack Abbott, Diane Jenkins, and Kyle Abbott about his idea to have Kyle appear in Restless Style. “There’s the ultimate fighting champ,” Billy jokes when he sees Kyle. “Don’t encourage him,” Jack warns his half-brother. “Bad nephew. Shame on you,” Billy replies in a non-serious way, “You told me you were gonna stay out of trouble… but like a good uncle, I’m here to make your problems go away.” “What are you talking about?” Diane inquires. “Well, before the whole brawl at the Boutique happened, Abby had suggested using Kyle and Noah in Fenmores’ new ads for Restless Style,” Billy explains, “Lauren was onboard with the idea.” “And you still wanna go through with it even after what happened?” Jack questions. “Not only do I want to go through with it, but I want to interview Kyle about his fight with Noah as part of the cover story,” Billy announces. “Wow. You have a lot of nerve,” Jack states, “Using our family feud to try and sell magazines.” “Nothin’ I didn’t learn from you,” Billy fires back. Jack knows it’s true. “I’ll do it,” Kyle states without reservation, “I’ll take any opportunity to bash that loser, Noah.” “You’re not gonna be bashing Noah,” Jack shoots him down, “because the story is not happening.”

“Diane…?” Jack asks for her opinion when she doesn’t say anything. “Well, you wanted Kyle to be responsible for all the damages that he caused,” she reminds Jack, “The money would cover it and then he’d be off the hook.” “See. She agrees with me,” Kyle jumps in, “and I really don’t care what you think, Jack.” “You’re not helping your case right now,” Jack states, “If I don’t want you in this magazine, you’re not in it.” “Jack, come on,” Billy tries to convince his brother, “It’s not like I’m gonna publish something that trashes and embarrasses our family… and Scott here’s writing the story. He’ll do a good job.”

Jack turns to Kyle and sighs. “You can do the Fenmore’s ad, but not the interview,” he states. “Both, or I refuse to do b**** work at the Coffee House for the Silver Chipmunk,” Kyle bargains. “You’re working for the Chipmunk?” Billy asks, surprised. “That was my way for Kyle to make up for what he did to Kevin and Lauren’s businesses,” Jack explains, “Instead, you just want to plaster him in magazines around the country. You don’t care how much more damage it will do to Noah if you run with this cover story.” “Like any real journalist would, I’m giving Noah the opportunity to comment,” Billy states. “If Noah’s being interviewed, then so am I,” Kyle insists. Jack relents. “Look… you can do the ad and the cover story,” Jack relents, “but you’re not getting out of working at the Coffee House. I still believe that you need to work off the damages that you caused. Just because you’re doing this magazine appearance, it does not resolve you of your other responsibility.” Kyle makes a face. “That’s my final offer,” Jack states, “Diane, do you support me on this?” “It’s a fair compromise, Kyle,” Diane tells her son, “Take it or leave it.” “Fine,” Kyle says, rolling his eyes. Billy smiles, realizing that he’ll get his story.

Scene 9

Phyllis and Michael continue their conversation. “Have you even told Nick that all of these things are related to events in your past?” “Things that you’ve done to other people?” “Not other people… just Christine,” Phyllis answers, having a bit of a realization. “You did this to Christine?” Michael asks, “You tried to run her over.” “I didn’t just try, Michael. I succeeded,” Phyllis admits, “You know she wasn’t one of my favorite people, but oh, God, I feel horrible now.” She is getting teary-eyed. “I’m not judging you,” Michael tells his friend, “After all, I practically raped the woman.” “That’s what I mean… the Michael that I know today is a loving family man. We are different people now, Michael. Why does this have to happen now?”

“We haven’t been in touch,” Michael admits. “Can you be?” Phyllis asks. “You want me to call her?” Michael clarifies, picking up on Phyllis’s subtle suggestion. “Yeah, I do, actually,” Phyllis replies. “You are not seriously accusing Christine of being behind this?” Michael says in disbelief, “That’s ridiculous! Christine would never use a little girl the way that this person used Summer…” “Because she’s so sweet and innocent. Just like Sharon, right?” Phyllis responds. “Because that’s not the kind of person that she is!” Michael insists. “Just call her… please,” Phyllis requests again. Michael sighs, and then gives in to Phyllis. He pulls out his cell phone and calls his former fiancée, Christine Blair…

Scene 10

Victor and Nikki Newman let Roseanne Ryerson inside the Main House on the Newman Ranch. They convene in the living room for their interview about the custody battle over their grandchild, Reed Hellstrom. “Thank you very much for meeting with me,” Roseanne says politely. “Please… have a seat,” Victor instructs, “I’m sorry about the mix-up with our schedules. Thanks for agreeing to come to the Ranch instead.” “Oh, that works out just fine for me,” Roseanne replies, “Shall we begin?”

[Alternating clips of Victor and Nikki’s separate interviews with Roseanne].

-“Well, let me tell you upfront that I think this whole idea of a custody case is utterly ridiculous,” Victor states.

-“I mean no disrespect. I’m sure your services are… well, useful, in cases where they are actually needed,” Nikki adds, sounding somewhat condescending, “But this isn’t one of them…”

-“There’s no allegations of abuse involved, neglect. Or drugs or alcohol, any of that. Victoria poses no threat to Reed,” Victor continues, “She’s a wonderful mother… This is simply a case of a vindictive ex-husband who’s out for revenge.”

-“Convince me of that, Mr. Newman,” Roseanne says, “I want to hear some supporting evidence.”

Scene 11

Billy has just given Sharon, Nick, and Noah his pitch for having Noah appear in Restless Style. Scott is also present. “You really expect us to let our son be featured in your sleazy rag?” Nick asks in disbelief. “It used to be your sleazy rag,” Billy remarks with a smirk. “You’re really wearing out your welcome, Abbott,” Nick warns him. “No, look… all I want from you, Noah, is to take a couple photos for our ads and for you to tell me your side of what went down with Kyle… at the Coffee House and at Fenmore’s.” “You know what? We’re not gonna say no,” Sharon announces, “We’re gonna leave it up to Noah. But I think he’s smart enough to realize all the damage that your articles have done to this family in the past, and I’m sure he doesn’t want to be any part of that … Right, Noah?” Sharon seems unconvinced. “You don’t have to do this if you don’t want to,” Nick adds, obviously urging his son to decline Billy’s offer. “Eden won’t like it if I’m in the magazine,” Noah realizes, “But if I don’t, Kyle will do it and he’ll just use it as an opportunity to make me look even worse.” “We’ll sue for slander,” Nick states. “No, because I’ll tell my side of the story,” Noah agrees.

Scene 12

Roseanne continues to [separately] interview Nikki and Victor. Alternating clips from each of their interviews are shown:

-“Well, that’s the way the world works today… mothers, they don’t just stay home and cook and clean,” Nikki says, “They have jobs, lives, but that doesn’t make them any less responsible or caring or loving than a mother that stays at home.”

-“When Victoria first decided to come back to work at Newman Enterprises, she brought Reed with her everyday. We set up a little nursery in her office so that she could be close to her son. Because that’s the kind of mother that she is… she always put her son first,” Victor explains, “She always made herself available to take care of him, so that whenever he needed anything, she was right there. And I allowed my daughter to bring my grandson in to work because that’s the kind of family we are. Reed is surrounded by a loving extended family on his mother’s side, and you can’t say the same for JT Hellstrom…”

-“You probably didn’t know this, but Victoria lost a baby once before,” Nikki reveals, “Her name was Eve, and she died at birth… I also know what it’s like, from experience, and I can tell you that when you suffer that kind of loss, as a parent, you know how precious it is to have a child. That’s why I know how much Victoria cherishes her job as a mother to Reed above anything else.”

-“I can’t even begin to tell you the joy that Reed has brought into Victoria’s life,” Victor states.

“Before Reed was born, when Victoria was in a coma, I went to court because I knew how much it meant for Victoria to be a mother. JT wanted to deliver the baby in order to save Victoria, but I knew that Victoria would never have agreed to that,” Nikki explains, “I don’t know if you have children, but there’s a special kind of bond that a mother has to a child because it grows inside of her for nine months. And Victoria -- she’s already lost so much time with her son, Reed. It just isn’t fair to make her lose any more.”

Roseanne considers what they both have to say. “That’ll be all for today…,” she finally says, “Thank you.”

Scene 13

Michael has been on the phone with Christine. Their conversation is nearing its end. Michael paces around on the patio while Phyllis sits at the table. “Alright, nice to talk to you too,” Michael says to Christine, “I’ll talk to you later… okay, bye.” Michael hangs up the phone and turns to Phyllis. “Christine’s no where near Genoa City,” he announces, “Believe me, you are the last person on her mind right now…” “You’re sure?” Phyllis double-checks. “Yes,” Michael states, “Whatever’s happening to you… Christine is in no way responsible for it.” “Then who is?” Phyllis asks. “Think,” Michael says, “What other women have you crossed in your lifetime?” “A lot,” Phyllis admits.

“You never answered my question before…,” Michael recalls, “Have you even told Nick that someone is doing the same things to you that you did to Christine in the past?” “I’m working on it,” Phyllis replies evasively, “I just… haven’t found the right time yet…” “You have to tell him,” Michael urges her, “You cannot live with that kind of secret.” “I know,” Phyllis agrees. “Then tell him,” Michael repeats, stressing every word. “I will,” Phyllis nods in agreement, “I’ll tell him as soon as we’re at home.”

Scene 14

Sharon and Nick react to Noah’s decision to be in Restless Style. Billy is thrilled. Scott is still with him. Sharon had obviously been hoping Noah would say no, as well. “It’s already been in the local paper,” she reminds Noah, “Are you sure you want to take this fight with Kyle national?” “Yes, he’s sure,” Billy answers for Noah, as he reveals a contract form for Nick and Sharon, “So if you’ll just sign right here…” “Hold on,” Nick interrupts Billy, “Son… think about this. Do you really wanna let this slimeball use you to make a profit?” “He’ll be well-compensated,” Billy adds. “Shut up,” Nick snaps. “Okay,” Billy replies, as he backs away. “Yes, I said I’ll do the magazine,” Noah repeats to Nick, “I don’t care that Billy profits from it. I just want to be able to say what really happened.” “And you know, technically, we could stop you from doing the magazine if we wanted to?” Sharon double-checks. “Yes, but you just said it was my choice,” Noah responds. “Okay. Then, if being in this magazine is what you want, we’ll support you,” Sharon states, “Right, Nicholas?” “No funny business,” Nick warns Billy, “You tell both sides of the story… don’t butcher what my son says or misquote him to favor Kyle.” “I hear ya,” Billy agrees. “I’m writing the article, and I’ll be very fair,” Scott adds. Nick turns back to Billy. “If you use this article for any kind of slam piece against Noah or any of my family, I’ll find a way to shut you down,” Nick threatens again, “and I’m not kidding around this time.” “Hmmm, easier than I thought,” Billy whispers to Scott as he hands Nick and Sharon the agreement to sign.

“Why don’t you go get changed so we can have our photo shoot?” Billy says to Noah. “Today?” Noah asks, “Right now?” “Yeah, you don’t have any problem posing in your underwear, do you, Sport?” Billy asks Noah. “I have bandages all over my arms,” Noah states, “Why do you think I’m wearing long sleeves in the middle of summer?” “Oh come on. It gives you character,” Billy encourages Noah, “Chicks dig scars… Now go on. Let’s get this photo shoot on the road.” Nick and Sharon both exchange worried and confused glances with one another.

Scene 15

Victor and Nikki remain in the living room after Roseanne leaves. “Uh, I’m glad that’s over with,” Nikki comments, “How much more of this does Victoria have to be put through?” “Sweetheart, we told that woman exactly why Victoria should be given custody of Reed,” Victor says, “Everything we said was true. Now, if she knows what she’s doing, she’ll listen to us and give Victoria her son… Let’s not worry about it until the time comes, alright?” Nikki nods. “I think you have another daughter to be worried about right now anyway,” she says.

“Actually, Ashley and I have decided to give her a little bit of her freedom back,” Victor reveals. “Oh, yeah? So that’s why I thought I heard her on her phone earlier?” Nikki asks. “Her webcam,” Victor says, “Apparently, she talked earlier to Paul’s son, Ricky… he’s back in Genoa City. Did you know that?” “No, I didn’t,” Nikki answers, “Which means, I probably should catch up with Paul really soon.” “There’ something I have to go do, as well,” Victor states, “Actually, it was something you said to me… a while back… when we were talking about Abby, that pretty soon she would be interested in someone else and she’d forget all about that pathetic Ryder Callahan…” “I don’t understand,” Nikki replies out of confusion. “Darling, all you need to know is you’re a genius.” “That I already know,” Nikki jokes. Victor prepares to leave. “I could just kiss you,” he says. “Please do,” Nikki replies playfully. “Later,” Victor tells her. “Where are you going?” Nikki inquires. “I’ll be back soon,” Victor informs her as he heads out the door.

Scene 16

Phyllis has returned to an empty Tack House [Nick and Sharon have taken Faith for a walk and Noah went to get ready for the photo shoot]. There’s a knock on the door. Phyllis answers it and sees Roseanne. She doesn’t know who it is. “Do I know you? How did you get on this property?” Phyllis asks frantically. “I’m Roseanne Ryerson,” she introduces herself, “We spoke on the phone yesterday.” “Oh, I’m sorry,” Phyllis apologizes, “That’s right… I remember. I’m just a little edgy today… Believe me, I’m not usually like this.” “We all have our off-days,” Roseanne replies, “I just came from your in-laws and I thought I’d drop in and see if we could set up an interview for you and your husband… But I can see it’s not a good time. So I’ll come back.” Phyllis nods. “I promise I’ll give you a call, and set something up,” she says. “I look forward to it,” Roseanne says. Phyllis suddenly gets a chill.

“Oh, here. Before I forget, this was left on your front step,” Roseanne informs Phyllis as she hands her an envelope, “Almost didn’t see it. But maybe this’ll cheer you up” The envelope has a shoeprint on it from where Roseanne stepped on it. It also has Phyllis’s name written on it. “Thanks,” Phyllis whispers as she takes the envelope from Roseanne. She’s immediately apprehensive about opening it.

Roseanne leaves and Phyllis reluctantly opens the envelope. An old piece of newsprint falls out. Phyllis picks it up and flips it over. It’s a clipping of an old newspaper article about Phyllis’s former friend and co-worker Sasha Green being killed in a fire. Phyllis had been the last person to see her alive and had a violent confrontation with her when Sasha threatened to expose Daniel’s paternity.

A distraught Phyllis flashes back to her recent conversation with Diane. “At least I was never declared an unfit mother,” Diane had said to taunt her. “At least I’ve never burned down someone’s house to get what I want,” Phyllis had retorted. “If you continue to challenge me, you will go down in flames, Phyllis,” Diane had threatened, “Don’t forget that.” Now Phyllis thinks Diane is responsible for the letter. “Diane… that b****,” she says aloud.

Scene 17

Nick and Sharon have taken Faith on a walk around the Newman grounds while Noah is off getting ready for the photo shoot. “Are you sure we made the right decision?” Sharon questions Nick. “Our son, an underwear model?” “Yeah, I would have loved to have an opportunity like that when I was his age,” Nick confesses, “Being on bedroom and dorm room walls across the country.” “It’s the whole cover story thing I’m worried about,” Sharon admits, “I mean… this could fuel even more animosity between Noah and Kyle… between the Newmans and the Abbotts if it makes your father and Jack get involved. “Or Noah and Kyle can do the interview, get all their feelings out, and then move on from it,” Nick suggests, deciding to take a more optimistic approach. “Do you really think so?” Sharon asks. “I dunno,” Nick admits, “I mean, I don’t like this any more than you do. But Noah made his decision, and I’m trying to look at it positively. That was your idea, you know.” “I know,” Sharon nods, somewhat regretful.

“How do you think your father’s gonna react though?” Sharon asks Nick, “You know what he did when Victoria posed for that centrefold years ago…” “Yeah, he hunted down all the magazines and had them destroyed,” Nick recalls. “But this is different,” Sharon decides. “Yeah, it’s different,” Nick agrees, “Although my father might still hunt down Billy.” They both laugh at the thought.

Scene 18

Phyllis bangs frantically on the front door of the Abbott Manor. “Hold on! I’m coming!” Diane shouts as she heads to the door. As she opens it, Phyllis immediately lets herself inside. “It’s you, isn’t it? You’re the one who’s been stalking me!” Phyllis shouts, “Where were you earlier?” Diane is caught of-guard. “Phyllis, you were always crazy, but you are positively off your rocker,” she says calmly, “I have no idea what you’re talking about. I haven’t been stalking anybody, especially not you. Why would I even do that?”

“You wore a red wig before when you tried to frame me for burning down the pool house,” Phyllis remembers, “Some woman with red hair manipulated my daughter into doing something very upsetting to me.” “Oh, that’s right! You have a daughter now… with Nick Newman,” Diane replies, changing the subject, “You know, I’ve never understood what that man sees in you.” “At least I’m happily married,” Phyllis retorts, “Unlike you, who’s so pathetic trying to get your hooks into a man that you’ve lost about three times already.”

“Phyllis, just stay out of mine and Jack’s business,” Diane orders. “Look at you… speaking about the two of you as if you’re actually an item again,” Phyllis says, “Read my lips: Never gonna happen.” “Read my lips: Get the hell out of here before I call security,” Diane shouts. “I said all I’ve come to say,” Phyllis informs Diane, “This time, I’m warning you. If I find out you’ve had anything to do with any of the things that have happened to me lately, you’ll wish you never came back to Genoa City.”

Scene 19

Jack stares at a picture of his deceased father, John Abbott Sr. “Pop… I can’t believe you’ve been gone four years now,” he states, “I could really use your advice. If anyone would know what to do about Kyle, it’s you.”

“I feel like we’re giving in to this kid just to avoid causing a confrontation with him,” Jack continues, “We know we shouldn’t, but it’s just easier than having to deal with an angry teenager. But Diane brought him here so that I could help him, and I think I’m just making things worse. My son… he’s out of control… there’s no denying that. He’s out of control, and I don’t know… how to fix it…”

Scene 20

Kyle sends ‘Sully’ a text message: ‘Pool house. ASAP. Worth your while.’

Scene 21

Noah is talking to Abby on the phone. “I’m about to do the photo shoot now,” he says. “When my idea makes you famous, you owe me big,” Abby tells her cousin. “Well, believe me, this was the last thing I was expecting,” Noah admits, “but I’m gonna roll with it. See where it takes me.” “That’s no way to live,” Abby comments, “I like to be in control of my life. And even though I’m still stuck in my room, I’m using what little freedom I have to make sure I get what I want when I get out of here…”

Scene 22

Ricky returns back to Paul’s Apartment. “Dad, I’m home!” He calls out. Realizing that Paul isn’t home, he immediately heads to the computer, which was left on. He types ‘Michael Baldwin’ ‘Genoa City’ into the search engine, and as the results load, he checks his Facebook page.

Abby has added Ricky as a Facebook friend. He reads the message she sent along with her request: “Hey cutie,” he says aloud, “Looking forward to meeting you in person one of these days. Call me. xo.” He smirks and clicks ‘Accept.’

Suddenly, there’s a knock on the door. Ricky answers the door and sees an imposing figure standing in front of him. It’s Victor, and he has a look on his face that shows he means business…

Next Time on The Young and The Restless

Paul Williams and his teenage son Ricky Williams are talking in the living room of their apartment. “What I’m asking you is… what would you think about staying here… permanently?” Paul says.

At the Tack House, Phyllis Newman has just told Nick Newman that someone is trying to get revenge on her for all the misdeeds she’s done in the past. “Haven’t you ever done anything you regretted more than anything?” Phyllis asks him. “I’m starting to regret that I don’t really know my wife,” Nick states, an angry, judgmental tone in his voice.

Jana Hawkes Fisher and Scott Grainger, Jr. are waiting in Dr. Brian Hamilton’s office for the results to Jana’s SPECT Scan. “I’m sorry,” Brian apologizes to Jana, “but right now, there’s no way to help you get your memory back.”

Scene 1

Phyllis Newman is sitting at the Athletic Club bar. It’s getting late in the evening. As Phyllis has a drink, her friend and former husband Jack Abbott approaches her. “Hey Red… you look kind of rattled,” he observes, “What happened?” “What happened? Let’s see… I just got out of the police station,” Phyllis responds, “I spent the last few hours there.” Jack is concerned. “Why?” he asks. “Someone attempted to run down me and Nick earlier today,” Phyllis reveals. “Are you kidding?” Jack responds, “Run you down? Who would do something like that?” “The same person who has been calling constantly and hanging up, who convinced Summer to put a dead eel in my bed… don’t ask about that…”

“Why didn’t you go to the police sooner?” Jack inquires, “If someone’s been harassing you…” “After everything we went through with Adam, I didn’t think the police would be willing to listen,” Phyllis explains, “I mean, they all hate the Newmans. They’re not gonna do us any favors.” “I hear you, but still, It’s their job to investigate,” Jack replies. Phyllis looks tired. “I don’t want to think about it or talk about this right now, please,” she admits, “Can we talk about something else?”

Scene 2

Tucker McCall joins Ashley Abbott in her office in the Jabot Cosmetics building. “I’m heading out,” he announces, “Just wanted to see what you were up to.” “I’ll be here a little while longer,” Ashley replies, “I’m going over a few more reports.” “I have a short meeting at the club, but if you’d like, you can join me for a late dinner afterwards,” Tucker offers. Ashley becomes uncomfortable as soon as the conversation moves away from business.

“You know, I still don’t understand you,” she begins, “Why you would return Katherine’s company to her, but not return Jabot to my family. Why you would then ask me out on a date even though you know I don’t agree with your choices and your actions.” “I’m a guy that takes charge of what I want,” Tucker replies, “I don’t like to sit back; I get the ball rolling…” “Well, I wish you’d find something else to focus on,” Ashley remarks. “I’m trying to prove myself to you,” Tucker insists, “if you’d just give me the chance.” “I don’t have to give you a chance,” Ashley responds, “You’re my boss. Not my friend.” “Well, if that’s how you feel, I hope we can change that,” Tucker tells her, “Because I really think we could be a lot more than friends.” He gets closer, but Ashley backs away.

“Neil and I have just ended things,” Ashley recaps, “My daughter has been acting out lately… I have Jabot to worry about… I really don’t feel that I’m looking for a committed relationship. I don’t know how else to tell you that.” “You know, that’s how I felt my whole life,” Tucker admits, “But sometimes, when you meet someone special, you realize what you’ve missed out on.” Ashley says nothing. Tucker realizes he should stop. “Well, if you change your mind… about dinner, you know where to find me, darlin’,” he says as he leaves the room.

Scene 3

Kevin Fisher arrives at Jimmy’s Bar, where his good friend and former business partner Mackenzie Browning is bartending for the night. “Hey, Mac,” Kevin greets her, “Long time, no see.” “Yeah, you too,” Mackenzie replies, “…So how was your first day back at Chancellor?” “Uneventful,” Kevin replies, “But your grandma is gonna be a great boss… and I’m sure I’ll get the hang of things really soon.”

“Since you brought up work, what’re you doing, still working in this place?” Kevin asks, obviously implying that a pregnant woman shouldn’t work in a bar. “It’s not like there’s ever fights in here or anything,” Mackenzie replies, “I’m perfectly safe.”

Scott Grainger, Jr. arrives. “Scott, you remember Mackenzie, right?” Kevin asks. “Yes, of course,” Scott replies, “It’s good to see you again.” “You too,” Mackenzie replies. She’s behind the bar, so he can’t see that she’s pregnant from where she’s standing. “Woah, congratulations,” Scott says, noticing that she’s pregnant when she finally moves away from the counter, “Who’s the lucky guy?” “I’m back with JT,” Mackenzie answers, “But they’re not his… or mine.” “Mac’s a surrogate mother,” Kevin explains, “She’s carrying twins for a friend of ours who just got over cancer.” “That’s very noble of you,” Scott comments.

“Speaking of noble, Scott has been teaching high school in inner-city Toronto,” Kevin informs Mackenzie. “I’m working at Restless Style though now,” Scott adds. “Hmm, maybe you can help keep Billy on the right track,” Mackenzie says. “I’ll try,” Scott says with a laugh. “I don’t think anyone can save ‘Willy’ from himself,” Kevin offers his opinion. “You two don’t get along?” Scott inquires. “He used to go out with Mac,” Kevin replies, “He hurt her more than once.” “It was more than just ‘going out,’” Mackenzie clarifies, “We were married once… but we’re still friends.” “Hey, why don’t we go find a table?” Kevin suggests, in order to end the discussion on Billy Abbott. He and Scott turn around to find a table.

“You know, I used to teach kindergarten on a Native reservation,” Mackenzie suddenly informs Scott. He turns back around. “Most difficult but most rewarding thing I’ve ever done, right?” Scott asks. “Yeah, we should swap stories sometime,” Mackenzie suggests. “Sure,” Scott agrees. He and Kevin head over to an empty table. “I used to have such the biggest crush on her,” Kevin tells Scott. “I remember,” Scott replies. “And then I met Jana,” Kevin continues, “and I learned what true love is.”

Scene 4

Victor Newman sits in the living room, thinking about his argument with his daughter Abby Carlton. “You don’t want me to be happy!” Abby had said. “That’s not true. Of course I want you to be happy,” Victor had replies, “I’m your father. Of course, I do.” “No, Brad Carlton is my father!” Abby had shouted as she ran upstairs.

Meanwhile, in her bedroom, Abby thinks about the same conversation. She clearly feels guilty.

Victor then recalls a conversation that he had with his ex-wife Ashley about lighten the terms of her punishment as a token of good will. “I thought you might want to know: I talked to Lauren earlier, and she’s been really impressed with Abby’s work at the Boutique so far,” Ashley had said. “Is that right?” Victor responded, “It just proves what we’ve been saying to Abby all along… that she can do whatever she sets her mind to, as long as she stays committed to it. That’s why she doesn’t need distractions like Ryder Callahan in her life.” “I was thinking that, since she’s proven that she can be responsible, maybe we can relent a little?” Ashley had suggested, “Give her some of her freedom back.” “I’ll think about it, alright?” Victor had replied.

Victor’s face is pensive. He still hasn’t reached a decision…

Scene 5

Phyllis and Jack continue their conversation at the Athletic Club bar. “You wanna talk about something else?” Jack asks. “Yeah, let’s talk about you for a change,” Phyllis answers. “Well, I’ve had a lot of changes in my life recently,” Jack states the obvious. “Yeah, so I heard, or rather I saw,” Phyllis responds. “The article in the Chronicle?” Jack asks knowingly. Phyllis nods. “And I just spent the day with Noah, whose arms are covered in cuts and bandages,” she explains. “Yeah, for my son to not get along with Noah,” Jack begins, “That’s the last thing I wanted to happen.”

“Speaking of the unwanted…,” Phyllis says as Diane Jenkins arrives and approaches Jack and Phyllis. “Well, hello to you too, Phyllis,” Diane says in a snooty way. “When I heard Kyle was back in town, I was hoping you’d be staying far away,” Phyllis admits, “So much for that…” “Yeah, so much for that,” Diane mocks her, “I am back for good… so Jack, why don’t you give us a few minutes to catch up?” “I don’t know if that’s such a good idea,” Jack says, turning to Phyllis, “especially with the mood you’re in…” “When is Phyllis not in a mood?” Diane responds. “See, this is exactly why I don’t want to leave you two alone,” Jack informs them.

“It’s fine, Jack,” Phyllis insists, “You can go. The sooner we get this over with, the sooner she goes away.” Jack nods. “Play nicely,” he warns, “I don’t want another fight on my hands.” He turns to Diane. “I’m gonna go see Ashley over at Jabot,” he tells her, “I’ll meet you at home.” This catches Phyllis off-guard. As Jack leaves, she questions Diane. “Home?” Phyllis asks, “You mean, you’re living at the Abbott Mansion? Boy, you work fast…”

Scene 6

Ryder Callahan and Daniel Romalotti, Jr. arrive at Jimmy’s Bar within minutes of one another. They join Kevin and Scott. The four guys bump fists and pat each other on the back to greet each other. “Hey, Mr. CIO!” Daniel says to Kevin. “You want a beer?” Scott offers Daniel. “Thanks, but, um… I don’t drink anymore,” Daniel announces, “Long story: Stupid decision I made as a teenager. Changed a lot of lives. And I said I would never take another drink.” He’s referring to getting drunk at a party initiated the course of events that ultimately led to Cassie Newman’s death. “I had no idea,” Scott answers, “Sorry, man.”

Kevin rejoins Mackenzie at the bar while Scott, Daniel, and Ryder remain at the table. “So are you drinking to celebrate your new job at Chancellor or to help take your mind off things with Jana?” Mackenzie inquires. Kevin thinks for a moment. “Good question,” he responds, “A little of both, I guess.” “Well, if you ever wanna talk, or if you just need to unload, you know, I’m a good listener,” Mackenzie offers. “I know,” Kevin nods. “That’s how I get all my tips,” Mackenzie jokes. Kevin smirks. “Thanks,” he says. “Any time you’re ready,” Mackenzie replies softly.

Scene 7

Phyllis and Diane continue to verbally spar with one another at the Athletic Club bar. “I gotta admit the timing is a little convenient,” Phyllis tells Diane, “I mean, Jack’s fiancée leaves, and you’re right here hovering around him like a vulture ready to swoop in for the kill.” “I am here for Kyle, and for Kyle only,” Diane maintains. “Keep telling yourself that, sweetie pie,” Phyllis remarks. “Don’t call me sweetie pie,” Diane orders. “Don’t lie to me,” Phyllis replies, “You have always wanted Jack for yourself. The least you can do is admit that, and stop using your son as an excuse to worm your way back into his life.”

Phyllis continues her rant: “Maybe if you had actually mothered him,” she says in a judgmental tone. Diane cuts her off. “Don’t tell me what I didn’t do,” she fires back, “You have no idea what our life has been like. And how dare you be so judgmental of me? At least I was never declared an unfit mother.” “At least I’ve never burned down someone’s house to get what I want,” Phyllis retorts. “If you continue to challenge me, you will go down in flames, Phyllis,” Diane threatens, “Don’t forget that.” “Bitch,” Phyllis mutters as Diane walks away.

Scene 8

As Diane is about to leave the Athletic Club, Tucker McCall arrives for a meeting with Katherine Chancellor Murphy and Paul Williams. “Miss Jenkins, darlin’, what a pleasant surprise!” Tucker says. Apparently, they are previously acquainted. “Usually, when people see me, it’s not a pleasant surprise,” Diane admits. “Well, I’ve heard only good things about the top architect at Castle Properties,” Tucker tells her, “my newest subsidiary.” “I’m flattered that someone as successful and talented as you thinks so highly of me,” Diane says. “You deserve it,” Tucker tells her. It’s clear that he’s in a rush.

“Listen… I have a meeting right now, but you should come by my office sometime, darlin’,” Tucker suggests, “Let me give you my card.” He hands her his business card.

Scene 9

Private investigator Paul Williams and his client Katherine Chancellor Murphy join Tucker at the Athletic Club to discuss the whereabouts of Eileen Ramsey, a person-of-interest in the search for Jill Abbott’s biological parents. They greet each other and then get down to business: “So I checked back in with the adoption agency,” Paul begins. “And…?” Katherine inquires. “Now here’s the interesting part… their records show that Tucker was dropped off there on September 29th. That’s your [Tucker’s] birthday…,” Paul explains, “So that’s consistent with what Charlotte said… that she dropped your baby off at the adoption agency at your request.” “Yes, we know all that,” Katherine states. “Right, but according to the agency records, which were conveniently misplaced last time because of renovations to the storage room, Jill wasn’t dropped off to the agency until more than two weeks later, on October 17th,” Paul continues. Katherine raises an eyebrow. “So whoever gave up Jill lied about her birth date,” she realizes. “Assuming that she was brought to the agency as soon as she was born, then, yes,” Paul says. “Right,” Tucker nods, “She could have been born the same day as me, but not given up right away.” “It’s possible,” Paul says, “Listen… there’s something else you should know… I probably shouldn’t tell you this, but Jill also came to me for help in finding her birth parents… right after you did. Now, I didn’t officially take the case, but I didn’t want to look suspicious by turning her down outright either. So I told her it would be a long shot, but I’d look around. That’s why I came to you first. But I’m gonna have to tell Jill something when she comes to me asking what I’ve found out…”

Scene 10

Jack Abbott visits his sister Ashley at the Jabot Building. “Another late night at the office?” he asks, as he peaks in from the doorway. “Jacky,” Ashley whispers. A smile spreads across her face. Jack comes inside and they hug. “Did you really think you’d get through today without seeing me?” Jack asks, referring to the anniversary of their father’s death. “Of course not,” Ashley responds, “But I’ve just been burying myself in work today to avoid reliving things.”

“Listen… I couldn’t help but see Gloria’s name still on the office door as I walking in here,” Jack observes, “You got rid of her, right?” Ashley pauses for a moment. “I decided to keep her around a bit longer,” she admits. “What for?” Jack questions, “The woman is nothing but trouble.” “And she also cares about Jabot, despite what she did in the past,” Ashley adds, much to Jack’s surprise, “Think of what day it is today. I saw her earlier… She said some of the most wonderful things about our father, Jack.” “Don’t tell me you are actually feeling sorry for the woman,” Jack says. “You weren’t there, Jack,” Ashley tells him, “You didn’t see her. She had no idea someone was there listening. And she was still really hurting. She really misses our father too.” Jack doesn’t want to hear it…

Scene 11

Ricky Williams returns to the Abbott Manor. He rings the doorbell and Diane answers the front door. “Ricardo, it’s nice to see you again,” she says, “Kyle’s upstairs.” “Actually, I’m not looking for Kyle right now,” Ricky informs her, “I’m looking for you…” Diane looks surprised.

Scene 12

Jack and Ashley continue to talk in the Jabot CEO’s Office. They’ve just finished reminiscing about their father, John Abbott. “You know, I was thinking of going to New York and checking up on Traci,” Jack informs his sister, “I know she was just here not to long ago, but I can’t think of the last time I’ve actually gone to visit her.” “Well, do you really want to leave Kyle alone right now?” Ashley inquires. “It’d only be for a few days,” Jack answers, “and Diane’ll be here.” “Well, you’ve seen the kind of trouble Kyle can get into, even with both of you there,” Ashley states, “Do you think Diane can handle him?” “I’ll take care of things,” Jack insists.

“Do you have something else on your mind… besides Dad?” Jack asks. Ashley pauses for a moment. “There is something else that’s kind of freaking me out,” Ashley confesses. “What’s that?” Jack asks. “I think Tucker ‘likes’ me,” Ashley replies, sounding like a third grader, “You know, ‘likes’ me…” “What has he said to you?” Jack inquires. “He’s made a couple passes at me,” Ashley answers, “He fooled me into going on a date with him, and asked me out for dinner again tonight.” “And you told him no?” Jack follows up. “Of course I told him no,” Ashley states, “He has been holding on to our family company when he’s had so many opportunities to return to the Abbott family… where it belongs.” “So you’re not the slightest bit interested in him?” Jack asks. “No!” Ashley denies, “It’s like everyone has seen past what he did to Katherine, his own mother, but I just can’t do it… He seems so shifty to me. It’s that look he always has on his face. Like he’s always up to something.” “Yeah, that’s the last thing you need,” Jack agrees, “You just ditched ‘the Mustache.’ You don’t need to be hooking up with ‘the Goatee.’” Ashley scoffs at Jack’s latest nickname. “Jack, stop. Be serious,” she says. “I am being serious,” Jack insists, “I don’t want Tucker McCall anywhere near any member of this family.” “I think he got the message,” Ashley says. “He better have,” Jack states.

Scene 13

At the Athletic Club, Tucker continues his meeting with Katherine and Paul. “Well, I’m gonna tell you something that I don’t want Jill to know about…,” Tucker begins, “the whereabouts of Eileen Ramsey.” “Good, because believe me, I’ve exhausted every possible avenue to locate her,” Paul says with a laugh. “Well, you won’t find Eileen Ramsey,” Tucker states, “You’d have to look for Lena Griffin.” “Lena Griffin?” Paul repeats. “So she changed her name?” Katherine deduces. “Yeah… listen to this,” Tucker explains, “Charlotte’s sister worked briefly as a stripper at the Bayou and a few of the other clubs, under the name of Lena Ramm. Apparently, sometime after she left Genoa City, she ended up in New York where she worked under the same name for a bit. Eventually, she legally changed her name to Lena, got married to a guy named, uh, Griffin. They settled on Long Island. You’ll find Lena Griffin living comfortably in the town of Oyster Bay, New York.”

Scene 14

At the Abbott Manor, Ricky begins to question Diane about his mother, Isabella Brana Williams. “You said at the airport that you were friends with my mom,” Ricky states. Diane remembers Paul’s warning not to tell Ricky anything about Isabella. She tries to backtrack on what she said: “Well, we talked every now and again,” Diane lies, “I mean, we were both new mothers. It only made sense we would compare notes. But I don’t know if I’d say we were good friends.” “That’s exactly what you said,” Ricky corrects her, sounding annoyed and suspicious. “Well, we were more like acquaintances,” Diane changes her story, “but it seems like you and my son Kyle are becoming more than that. After seeing some of the kids he was hanging around with back in Vancouver, it’s nice to see him with someone who’s more responsible and conscientious.”

Ricky ignores Diane’s praise. “How did you know her?” he asks, “My mother…” “Oh, um… through a mutual friend,” Diane answers vaguely. “Who?” Ricky presses, “Another mother? A co-worker?” “No, a man named Michael Baldwin,” Diane admits. “I think my dad’s mentioned him,” Ricky recalls, “Is he still in town?” “Check the yellow pages,” Diane suggests, “under ‘Lawyers.’ But don’t expect him to be much help.” Ricky nods. He’s extremely suspicious now, and decides not to press for any more. “Um, I better go,” he announces, “Don’t tell Kyle I was here.” “Sure,” Diane replies, seeming distant.

As soon as Ricky leaves, Diane calls Paul. Paul excuses himself from the table where he was meeting with Katherine and Tucker. “Paul Williams,” he answers. “Paul, it’s Diane,” she says, “Your son was just here asking me questions about Isabella.” Paul looks upset. “What did you tell him?” he asks. “I tried to sidetrack the conversation and not giving anything away, but I think I made him even more suspicious,” Diane admits, “He is not gonna stop until he knows everything that went down between you and Isabella and Christine.” “That’s exactly what I was afraid of,” Paul states…

Scene 15

At the Athletic Club, Paul rejoins Katherine and Tucker after his phone call with Diane. “I’m gonna leave as soon as I can to go track down this Eileen Ramsey,” Paul informs them, “I just need a day or so to talk to Ricky and make sure he’ll be okay by himself… and he’ll stay out of trouble.” Katherine chuckles. “That’s the real trick with kids these days, isn’t it?” she says. “I mean, Ricky’s a good kid. And he’s pretty independent,” Paul continues, “So I’m sure he’ll be fine for a couple of days. I’ll just have Heather check on him.” “Thank you for everything,” Katherine tells him as she gives him a hug. “Well, if this one pans out, it’s on Tucker,” Paul replies. He shakes Tucker’s hand.

Paul leaves, and Katherine and Tucker remain at the table. “Well, I better get going too,” Katherine announces, “Murphy just got back from his fishing trip yesterday, so I’d like to spend some time with him.” “Go ahead,” Tucker says, “Besides, I might be expecting someone anyway.” This piques Katherine’s interest. “Anyone I know?” she asks. “Well, I told Ashley that if she wanted a late dinner, I’d be here,” Tucker answers. Katherine notices something. “When you said Ashley’s name, the whole expression on your face changed,” Katherine observes, “Tell me something… you are interested in Ashley Abbott, aren’t you?”

Scene 16

Ashley arrives at the Main House on the Newman Ranch. She joins Victor in the living room. “Have you given any more thought to the idea of reducing Abby’s grounding?” she inquires. “That’s why I called you here,” Victor answers.

“Sweetheart, are you coming or what?” Victor calls out again. Abby is at the top of the staircase now. “Yes, I’m coming!” she shouts. She comes downstairs, sees both of her parents, and is not expecting the good news that is about to come. “Hi, honey,” Ashley greets her daughter, “Why don’t you have a seat?” Abby sits down, expecting to be in trouble for something else. Victor’s next line surprises her: “Your mother and I were talking earlier, and we’ve decided to give you a little bit of your freedom back,” he announces, “So here’s your cell phone and your laptop.” Abby looks excited. “You continue to show us that you can be responsible by doing a good job at the Boutique, and we’ll let you go out with your friends again…,” Ashley adds.

Scene 17

Abby goes up to her room and the first call she makes is, of course, to Ryder. He gets the call while at Jimmy’s Bar and goes outside to answer. “Abby?” Ryder asks. “I haven’t heard from you since… you know…,” Abby tells him. “The kiss,” Ryder states, completing her thought. “Yeah,” Abby confirms, “You’ve been avoiding me, haven’t you?” “No, you’ve been grounded,” Ryder corrects her. “My parents reduced my sentence,” Abby informs him, “I can’t leave the house quite yet. But soon… and we can talk on the phone until then.” “I realized… when I couldn’t see you that I did miss you,” Ryder admits, “I missed you a lot.” “Of course you missed me,” Abby replies, “I have that effect on people… and I missed you too. You know that, right?” Ryder doesn’t answer. “I’m not finished, Abby,” he says, “As much as I missed you, I couldn’t help but think that maybe it was the right thing.” “What are you saying?” Abby demands. “I’m saying that… maybe we shouldn’t see each other for a while…,” Ryder states.

Scene 18

At Jimmy’s Bar, Ryder rejoins Kevin, Scott, and Daniel after his phone call with Abby. “Yeah, so what’s the deal with the two of you anyway?” Kevin asks, “Are you together or what?” “She got grounded for seeing me,” Ryder answers, “I don’t want her to get in trouble again if we start hanging out again as soon as she’s off the hook.” “So the answer is no then?” Daniel infers. “If she was 18, things would be a lot different,” Ryder admits, “Then her parents wouldn’t be able to tell her what to do or keep us apart.” “So you’re okay just waiting for her to turn 18 in a couple months?” Kevin asks, “She’s a teenaged girl. They’re emotional and impatient. And moody… how do you know she’ll even want to wait for you?”

“Yeah, I taught girls that age,” Scott adds, “when I taught English back in Toronto. And let me tell you… some of them had a new boyfriend, it seemed like, every week. But hey, if it works out for you two, then great… At least you have someone who’s actually interested in you.” “Yeah, just don’t sleep with her,” Kevin advises, “You can get yourself in a lot of trouble. Take it from me… I would know... considering what happened with Lily.” “I’m not gonna sleep with her,” Ryder tells them. “Ever?” Kevin follows up. “Even if she was 18?” Daniel presses. “I’m in no rush,” Ryder clarifies, “I just like spending time with her.”

“Well, I don’t know about the rest of you, but that’s why I’m stickin’ to older women from now on,” Daniel decides. “That’s actually not a surprise coming from you,” Kevin tells him, as he takes another drink of beer. He turns to Scott and Ryder, “You see, other than Lily and Colleen… Daniel’s always gone for the older babes… he liked Mackenzie; then he went after Heather, and then Amber…” “Listen: you’re not above going for older women either, man, so don’t start,” Daniel jokes. Kevin is reminded of his former interest in Scott’s mother, Lauren Fenmore Baldwin, who is now his sister-in-law. “Yeah… do you wanna hear something funny, Scott?” Kevin asks, “Before I had a crush on Mackenzie, I had a crush on your mom,” Kevin announces, “That was before she was married to Michael… around when they started dating, I guess.” “Well, I’m glad you got over that crush,” Scott replies, feeling slightly uncomfortable, “Because if I had to have you as my stepfather, that would be really awkward.” “I can’t picture you and Lauren together at all,” Ryder adds.

“What do you think, Daniel?” Scott asks, “Do you think a guy our age could ever make it work with an older woman if she already has kids?” “Hey, that’s a sensitive topic for him,” Kevin intervenes, noticing the similarity to the situation that ended Daniel’s marriage to Amber. “No, it’s cool,” Daniel says, “I think it just depends whether she wants you to play dad to her kids or not. I’m not willing to do that. But if it’s just me and her havin’ a good time… nothin’ serious, then yeah, I think it could work.” “So, if it was like you and… I dunno… you and Sharon, or someone?” Kevin asks out of the blue. “Me and Sharon?” Daniel smirks, avoiding answering the question, “Where do you guys come up with this stuff?” It sounds like a ridiculous suggestion…

Scene 19

Phyllis and Jack coincidentally meet up again at Crimson Lights Coffee House. “Trying to delay going home?” Phyllis asks, “That’s what I would do if I lived with Diane.” “I was just getting a coffee,” Jack replies, “I’m on my way home now.” “A word of advice, then,” Phyllis says, “Make sure you have fire insurance…” Jack rolls his eyes. “Good one,” he remarks sarcastically. He prepares to leave.

“Wait, Jack!” Phyllis calls out. He turns back. “I’ve been so caught up in all my own drama that I didn’t even realize it was the anniversary of your father’s death.” Jack is surprised. “You remembered?” he asks. “Well, I kind of figured it out,” Phyllis admits, “I knew it was around this time…” “Yeah… four years,” Jack states, “Hard to believe.” “It really is,” Phyllis agrees, “But listen… you are so lucky to have had a father who loved you unconditionally no matter what.” “Believe me, I know that,” Jack nods. “Yeah, I mean, some of us aren’t that lucky,” Phyllis says, “I always knew my parents were disappointed in me, especially my father, because I didn’t fit their image of a perfect child.” “Hey, Red, no one’s perfect,” Jack tries to comfort her, “And quite frankly, all your flaws make you the beautiful, amazingly wonderful person that you are. I know you aren’t close with your parents, and the way I see it, it’s their loss. If they can’t see the kind of daughter they have, then they don’t deserve you.”

Scene 20

Kevin, Scott, Daniel, and Ryder continue their “guys’ night out” at Jimmy’s Bar. “So let me get something straight…,” Scott says to Kevin and Daniel, “You both liked Mackenzie, and you both were with Lily. But you’re all still friends now?”

Mackenzie happens to overhear her name, and interrupts their conversation. “My ears are ringing!” she exclaims as she approaches their table, “Are you guys talking about me?” “Yeah, we’re talking about the time when both of us [Kevin and Daniel] had crushes on you,” Kevin informs her. “She said I was ‘too young’ for her,” Daniel recalls. “She picked JT over me,” Kevin says. “You guys,” Mackenzie says with a smile, “We are so much better as friends. Don’t you agree?” “Yeah, I do,” Kevin tells her, “but still, it’s pretty funny to think about how things could have been.” “Well, I like to think things worked out like they were supposed to,” Mackenzie explains, “and that they’ll continue to do so… for all of us.”

“While you’re here, Mac,” Kevin says, “Can we get some refills?” “Sure… comin’ right up,” Mackenzie tells them as she takes away the pitcher of beer. “So anyway…,” Kevin continues, looking at Scott, “To go back to your question, it’s not like we were ever competing for the same girl or anything. We decided early on, never to let our love lives interfere with our friendship.”

Scene 21

Back in her bedroom on the Newman Ranch, Abby holds up a picture of Ryder. “I’m not ready to give you up,” she reveals, “I think I have a way that we can still be together…”

Scene 22

Mackenzie returns with new drinks for Kevin, Scott, Daniel, and Ryder [and a non-alcoholic beverage for Daniel]. As she leaves, Kevin raises his mug. “Let’s make a toast… to ‘the Brotherhood,’” he suggests, “And to never letting a woman come between us…” “I’ll drink to that,” Scott says. “Hear, hear,” the others say in unision as they clink their mugs together.

Next Time on The Young and The Restless

Roseanne Ryerson is interviewing Victor Newman about his daughter Victoria Newman’s parenting skills. “This is simply a case of a vindictive ex-husband who’s out for revenge,” Victor states. “Convince me of that, Mr. Newman,” Roseanne says.

Billy Abbott has just given Sharon Newman, Nick Newman, and Noah Newman his pitch for having Noah appear in Restless Style. “You really expect us to let our son be featured in your sleazy rag?” Nick asks in disbelief.

Scene 1

It’s late morning. Phyllis Newman is in the living room of the Newman Tack House packing for a picnic with her husband, daughter, and step-kids. The phone rings. Phyllis hesitates for a moment to answer it since she’s gotten numerous strange phone calls lately. “Hello,” she says, finally picking up. The caller greets her. “This is she,” Phyllis confirms, “Who’s calling?” There is another responds. “That’s right,” Phyllis replies, “Victoria’s mentioned you.” It becomes clear that the caller is Roseanne Ryerson, the Guardian Ad Litem appointed for the custody case involving Reed Hellstrom.

“An interview?” Phyllis replies, and Roseanne’s response is unheard. “I’m sorry, but it can’t be today… my husband and I are taking our daughter on a picnic…,” Phyllis continues, “Yeah, by the lake.” Roseanne says something else [off-screen]. “You know… we’re really in a rush and I don’t have my calendar with me…,” Phyllis responds, “Okay, why don’t you leave me your number and I’ll call you back later and we can schedule something? Great. Okay, bye…” Phyllis hangs up the phone as her husband, Nicholas Newman, comes downstairs. “Who was that?” Nick asks. “That was the custody evaluator,” she informs him, “I guess Reed’s custody case is moving forward…”

Scene 2

At the Main House on the Newman Ranch, Nikki Newman comes downstairs, dressed in full business attire. She joins her significant other, Victor Newman, in the living room. “You look ready to take on the world,” Victor observes. Nikki smiles. “I feel ready to take on the world,” she states, “and I would feel even better if you could come to the press conference. You know how much it means to me to get to work for Katherine at Chancellor Industries. I’d like it to appear to others that I have your support.”

“You know, I’m very busy today. I have to go to the office, and I have some things to go over before our interview with that Guardian Ad Litem woman, so I can’t make any promises,” Victor replies. “Well, if you can slip away for a while, I would appreciate you being there…,” Nikki repeats. Victor nods. Nikki heads out the door and Victor takes a seat in the living room. He picks up the newspaper, which is face down on the coffee table. Victor sees the front page article: a story about Noah Newman’s fight with Kyle Abbott. Victor slaps the paper back down on the table, his face showing his anger.

Scene 3

In the lobby of Chancellor Industries Headquarters, Katherine Chancellor Murphy, Neil Winters, Jill Abbott, Kevin Fisher, and Tucker McCall have all assembled for a press conference. Katherine’s husband Patrick Murphy is also there to lend support.

“Kevin!” Katherine calls out as she approaches him. “Mrs. C, hi,” he greets her. “I understand Jana had an appointment with Dr. Hamilton first thing this morning,” Katherine says, “How did it go?” “She had a brain scan done,” Kevin answers, “We’re just waiting on the results to see the extent of the damage.” “And if Jana could ever get her memory back,” Katherine adds. “Yeah, that too,” Kevin confirms. “Well, darling, you know I’m hoping for the best,” Katherine continues. “Thank you,” Kevin replies, “Mrs. C, we can never repay you for everything you’ve done.” “And I could never repay you for helping me get my life back. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be here right now.” “Look on the bright side – at least one good thing came out of that whole ordeal that you went through,” Kevin says, “I can’t see how anything good will come out of this for me and Jana.” Katherine looks over at Murphy, realizing that it’s true – if she had never been presumed dead, she never would have met and married Murphy. “Speaking of Murphy, I better go talk to him before I start my speech,” Katherine says, “I’ll talk to you later.”

Scene 4

Phyllis turns to Nick. “She – Roseanne something -- wants to interview us about Victoria,” she informs him. “Yeah, Vick warned me that would be coming,” Nick replies, “Mom and Dad have theirs tomorrow… Did you tell her we wouldn’t be home today?” “Yes, I did,” she confirms, “I told her we are going on a picnic for some quality family time and nothing and no one is going to stop us.” She throws her arms around Nick and gives him a kiss.

They are interrupted by a loud knock on the front door. Phyllis and Nick both give each other confused looks. Nick answers the door. It’s Victor. Victor holds up the newspaper article about Noah Newman’s fight with Kyle Abbott. “What the hell is this?” he says angrily.

Scene 5

Victor lets himself into the Tack House. Nick can tell he’s upset by the article in the newspaper. “Noah, get down here, bud!” Nick calls out. “Um, I’m gonna go upstairs and check on Summer and Faith,” Phyllis offers to give the Newman men some time alone. As Phyllis goes up the stairs, Noah is coming downstairs. He sees Victor holding the newspaper and knows he’s in even more trouble. “Grandpa, just let me explain,” he begins.

“Sit down,” Victor orders. Noah obeys, taking a seat in the living room. “Dad, I’ve already taken care of it,” Nick informs his father, “Noah is my son. You have to let me deal with him.” “And I’m the head of this family!” Victor shouts, “After all the negative press this family got because of the cabin and Adam’s murder, this is the last thing we need.” “I’m sorry, Grandpa,” Noah apologizes. “You should be,” Victor replies, “You should be sorry it wasn’t you who knocked that arrogant SOB through the window.” “Dad—,” Nick says, urging his father to stop. “No, if Jack Abbott’s son is any bit as arrogant and underhanded as he is, then he deserved a hell of a lot more,” Victor continues, “You don’t let that punk push you around anymore, you got it!” “Dad, don’t you dare try to give Noah any ideas,” Nick intervenes. “But if this Kyle comes after Noah again, he needs to know how to defend himself,” Victor explains. “He won’t,” Nick says, “because I already told Jack to keep Kyle away from my son.” “Um, have you two forgotten I’m still right here?” Noah asks. Victor turns to him. “You let me know if you want boxing lessons,” he suggests, before looking back at Nick, “I’ll show myself out…” Nick has a frustrated look on his face.

Scene 6

Jack Abbott comes downstairs and sees his troubled son Kyle Abbott sitting in the living room reading the newspaper. “Well, on the bright side, you’re up without me having to wake you,” Jack points out. Kyle doesn’t say anything. He keeps his head down and flips through the newspaper. “That today’s paper?” Jack asks. “No, it’s last year’s,” Kyle replies sarcastically. Jack shakes his head. “I’ve already gotten a few calls warning me what’s on the front page,” he finally says, trying to make conversation, “I hope that the embarrassment of seeing yourself on the front page teaches you to think twice before getting in another fight.” “I’m not embarrassed,” Kyle informs him, “There’s no such thing as bad publicity, Jack…”

Jack notices that Kyle is reading the Employment section of the Classifieds. “Are you looking for a job?” he inquires. “For you,” Kyle replies, not looking up from the paper, “How are you supposed to feed me, clothe me, and provide shelter for me if you’re unemployed?” “Don’t get smart with me,” Jack warns, “You know we’re doing fine financially.” “Still, you should lead by example,” Kyle retorts, “Be the strong male role model that I seem to be lacking in my life.” Jack ignores the comment. “You know, while you’re there, you should look a job for yourself for the rest of the summer,” Jack suggests, “or I could talk to Ashley. I’m sure she can find something in the Mail Room for you.”

“I’m not working for a company that makes women’s perfume,” Kyle snaps, “That’s a little too pansy for me.” Jack is infuriated by Kyle’s comment. “Don’t you ever disrespect your grandfather or his company like that again! Do you hear me?” he shouts, “He died four years ago today and he would be rolling over in his grave right now. Let me tell you, your grandfather, John Abbott, was an incredible businessman and an incredible father… the greatest father anyone could ever ask for.” “It’s too bad some of those fatherly instincts didn’t rub off on you,” Kyle insults him again. “You know, you’re a real smart alec,” Jack comments, “Just know this… I’m paying for the cost of the damages to the Coffee House and the Boutique, plus Noah’s medical expenses,” Jack tells his son, “That means… one way or another, you’re gonna work off the cost of the damages.”

Scene 7

At the Chancellor press conference, Katherine stands in front of the podium. Jill, Nikki, Murphy, Kevin, Tucker, and Neil are all seated to the right of her, waiting for their chances to speak. “Well, shall we get started?” Katherine says through the microphone, “Ladies and gentleman. Can I have your attention, please?” The members of the press direct their attention to Katherine. She clears her throat. “Hello. Thank you all for coming… as you know, my name is Katherine Chancellor and I’ve recently returned as Head of Chancellor Industries. In light of my return, we are experiencing a transition period here as we make several key changes to our upper management. I’m gonna pass the mic. on to Neil Winters who will tell you more about these changes.”

Neil steps up and joins Katherine at the podium. “Thank you,” he says to Katherine before beginning his speech, “Um, as Katherine said, I’m Neil Winters, CEO of Chancellor Industries. I am happy to announce that Chancellor Industries will be bringing in some talented new executives who I know will bring the energy and enthusiasm and passion needed to help take Chancellor Industries to a new level.” He looks back at Nikki. “Let’s start with Nikki Newman. I believe you have a few words to say,” he continues.

Nikki gets up to the podium. She looks uneasy for a moment. She glances around the room. Finally, she sees Victor standing at the back of the room. She breathes a sigh of relief and then begins to make her speech…

Scene 8

Daniel Romalotti, Jr. arrives at the Main House on the Newman Ranch. He knocks on the front door.

Inside, Sharon Newman rushes into the living room and calls out to the staff that she’ll get the door. She opens the door and sees Daniel standing in the doorway. “Daniel, hi,” she greets him. “Hi,” Daniel replies. ‘So what brings you by?” Sharon asks politely. “I’m actually looking for Noah,” Daniel says, “He owes me a rematch on our basketball game yesterday.” “You mean… you didn’t hear?” Sharon asks him. “Hear what?” Daniel replies, “My phone died. The battery’s been charging… I haven’t heard from anyone.” “Noah got into another fight,” Sharon informs him, “at Fenmore’s this time.” “Is he okay?” Daniel asks, concerned. “He’s gonna be fine,” Sharon answers. She motions for him to come inside. “Why don’t you come on in? I’ll tell you all about it…”

Scene 9

At the Chancellor press conference, Jill is finishing her speech. “…And I have also been CEO of Jabot Cosmetics, which was, until recently, a subsidiary of Chancellor Industries,” Jill says, looking directly at Tucker, “I may not be a Chancellor by blood, but I am a Chancellor in every way that matters. And I cannot tell you how happy I am to be back with this wonderful company that was once my late husband’s. I look forward to many more years of success at Chancellor Industries and I’m certain that we’ll only see good things ahead. Thank you.”

As Neil brings the press conference to a close, Murphy approaches Katherine. “You sounded great,” he compliments her. “You looked great…” “Thank you, darling,” she replies.

Elsewhere, Jill approaches Nikki. “So, it looks like we’ll be working together after all, Nikki,” Jill states. “Looks like it,” Nikki replies, clearly in no mood for Jill. A photographer approaches them and they pose together for a quick photo, both of them giving fake smiles. They immediately separate from one another after the photo is taken.

Neil approaches Nikki and Jill. “Ladies,” he greets them. Jill points her head towards Tucker, who appears to be watching all of them from the sidelines. “Look at him,” she says, “He may have given Katherine back her company, but he is still jockeying for position. Sitting back and waiting for an opportunity to make his next move.” Nikki nods. For once, we actually agree on something,” she replies.

Scene 10

Kyle is skimming the Abbott pool when his friend, Ricky Williams, joins him. “Dude, I saw the paper,” he begins, “You could’ve killed that kid.” “Don’t you start too,” Kyle replies, “He got a couple scratches. That’s it.” “My dad’ll read it when he gets home, and he probably won’t want us to hang out anymore,” “What Daddy doesn’t know won’t hurt him, will it?” Kyle replies, “I’m serious. Doesn’t it get boring being the good, obedient kid all the time? Live on the edge a little, you know? Like me… I’m spending my last year of high school here,” Kyle realizes, “I want everyone to know who I am and that I mean business.” “Well, that article’ll definitely help your reputation,” Ricky comments, “Is that why you did it?” “Dude, I didn’t need to help my image,” Kyle replies, “I’ve always been able to get girls just by snapping my fingers… I banged some ‘Sully’ chick right there in the Poolhouse yesterday…” “No way!” Ricky exclaims. “Yes way,” Kyle confirms. “Wait… so we’ve both been here a week,” Ricky realizes, “and you have a girlfriend already?” “She’s not my girlfriend,” Kyle clarifies, “I don’t do girlfriends. Not mine anyway… I just moved here… I was goin’ through some serious withdrawal. And she was there. Right place, right time. So think of all the action you could get too if you just let loose a little”

Scene 11

Daniel and Sharon sit in the living room of the Main House on the Newman Ranch. Sharon shows Daniel the newspaper article about Noah and Kyle’s fight. “Wow, Noah was really lucky,” Daniel says as he puts down the newspaper. “It was really stupid too what he did,” Sharon says, “Yes, he’s lucky he wasn’t seriously hurt, but he still ruined the rest of his summer.” “Too bad,” Daniel replies, “Maybe with his arms all bandaged, I would actually be able to beat him. He’s gotten really good.” “’Cause he had a really good teacher,” Sharon compliments Daniel. “Thanks,” Daniel says, “Hey – where is Noah anyway? Is he up in his room?” “Nick and Phyllis are taking him and Faith on a picnic to the lake,” Sharon answers, “It was either go with them or be stuck in his room, so Noah decided to go with them. “I’m sure Summer’ll be happy about that,” Daniel comments.

“You were looking forward to this,” Sharon realizes, “Playing basketball with Noah.” Daniel nods. “Yeah, I was,” he admits, “Since Amber left, and Jana lost her memory, and Kevin’s been spending all his time obsessing over her, nothing’s been the same. At least, if I was hanging out with Noah, something would feel normal.” “I’m sorry… Noah should’ve called you to tell you he couldn’t go,” Sharon says, “He probably just had other things on his mind. I’m sure he forgot.” “Well, like I said, my phone’s been charging, so I wouldn’t have gotten his message anyway,” Daniel reminds her. “Right,” Sharon replies. “And you know, at least, by coming over here, I got out of my place for a bit. Every time I’m there I just feel so…” “Alone,” Sharon finishes his sentence. “Yeah, alone,” Daniel says. He stands up to leave. “Well, I guess I better get out of your hair.”

“Wait -- I know what that’s like… to feel alone,” Sharon sympathizes, “Nick and your mom have Faith and Noah today. Victor and Nikki are off to a press conference and then to the office, so I’ll be by myself the whole day.” Sharon suddenly thinks of something.

“Hey… I have an idea,” she begins before changing her mind, “No, forget it... it’s silly…” “What?” Daniel asks, “I want to hear what you were gonna say.” “Well, it won’t be the same as with Noah, but it’s better than the two of us sitting alone at home all day…,” Sharon says, “I challenge you to a game of basketball.” Daniel smirks. “You challenge me?” he repeats. “I believe that’s what I said,” Sharon confirms. Daniel is amused. “When you say ‘challenge,’ you make it sound like it’ll actually be hard to beat you,” Daniel trash-talks. “Who says you’re gonna beat me?” Sharon dishes it right back. “Alright, then, let’s see what you got,” he agrees…

Scene 12

After the Chancellor Industries press conference, Tucker approaches Katherine and Murphy. “Katherine, may I have a word with you?” he requests, “Privately…” “Oh, anything you have to say to me, you can say in front of Murph,” Katherine informs her son. “This is about what we discussed at the Athletic Club,” Tucker clarifies. “Murphy knows all about my search,” Katherine says. “That’s right,” Murphy nods, “There are no secrets between us.” “Alright, well, I’m happy to say I think you’re one step closer to finding Jill’s birth parents,” Tucker announces. “You found Eileen Ramsey?” Katherine asks excitedly, her eyes lighting up. “It turns out Charlotte has an idea where she might be after all,” Tucker explains, “Now, that doesn’t mean Eileen knows anything about Jill’s birth…” “But we can’t be sure until we speak to her,” Katherine realizes, “Oh, Tucker, thank you, darling. Thank you.” She gives him a hug, catching him by surprise.

Jill watches Tucker and Katherine hugging. She turns to Neil. “Makes you sick, doesn’t it?” she asks. Neil nods. “I do not trust that man one bit,” he states. “Join the club,” Jill replies…

Scene 13

Kyle and Ricky continue to talk out by the pool. “So anyway, man, if you want that girl’s number, just let me know,” Kyle offers. “No offense, bro, but I think I’d rather build a meaningful relationship first before I go right to home base, if you know what I mean.” Kyle is surprised. “Have you even gone past the first base, Rick?” Kyle asks with a judgmental tone. “Yeah,” Ricky immediately states, “Lots of times. I’m not saying I haven’t gone to home base before. I’m just saying, I’m not gonna do it just for the sake of doing it.” “If you have a hot girl standin’ in front of you, and she’s willing to give up the goods, why turn her down?” Kyle ponders, “The only reason you would say no is if you’re gay.” “I’m not gay,” Ricky states. “Then what’s the big deal?” Kyle follows up, “You’re young. You supposed to have fun at this age. Explore a little. And I’m tellin’ you, dude, this girl was the best I’ve had in a while… for a high school girl, anyway…” He’s bragging. Ricky still doesn’t listen though. “You know, I appreciate what you’re trying to do,” he replies, “but I think I’ll pass.” Kyle shrugs his shoulders. “Your loss,” he replies.

“Can we talk about something else?” Ricky requests, “Like how you’re not grounded for life right now.” “Jack thinks he can control me, but he can’t,” Kyle replies, “He didn’t ground me. ‘Cause he knew I wouldn’t listen anyway.” “So you’re not in trouble at all?” Ricky asks in disbelief. “He’s makin’ me do chores,” Kyle instructs, “like cleaning this pool. Well, he thinks he can make me do them. I’m going along with it right now to get him off my back. But I’m not gonna let him ruin the rest of my summer. It’s time we started doing what we want. Who gives a crap about what our parents want?” He puts his arm around Ricky. “What do ya say, Pal – Amigo?” he asks, “Are you in or are you out?”

Scene 14

Kevin is getting settled into his new office at Chancellor Industries. Suddenly, there’s a knock on the door and Kevin turns around to see Jack. He’s taken by surprise. “I called the Coffee House,” Jack begins, “They told me you were here.” “Something I can help you with, Jack?” Kevin asks. “First day on the job, I hear?” Jack continues, not answering Kevin’s question. “That’s right,” Kevin replies, “so I’m a little busy right now…”

“I won’t keep you,” Jack says. “Alright, come in,” Kevin reluctantly agrees. “Thanks,” Jack says as he steps inside, “Listen… I understand there was a fight in the Coffee House yesterday…” “Yeah, one of the kids was your step-son,” Kevin tells Jack. “The other one was my son,” Jack reveals. “Huh?” Kevin replies, “He never said his name was Abbott.” “Yeah, we’re having some problems right now,” Jack explains, “I’m sure he wanted to separate himself from me in every way possible…” “Can’t say I blame him,” Kevin remarks. “Look… I know you have every reason to say no, but is there any way that we can set something up for Kyle to work at the Coffee House for a few weeks?” Kevin gives him a confused look. “I’ll pay you for the cost of the damages to the Coffee House, but I want Kyle to work off the cost that I’m paying so he doesn’t get off scot-free.” “Why would I want a trouble-maker working for me… even if it’s technically for free?” Kevin counters Jack’s offer, “Who’s to say he won’t get in another fight and destroy the place even more?” “He won’t,” Jack insists, “Look… can we just give it a try for a little while and see how it works out? I know I’m asking a lot here.” Kevin takes a deep breath. “Fine,” he agrees, “Just call me later and we’ll work out the details.” “Thank you,” Jack says appreciatively. “Um, Jack? I talked to my mother today,” Kevin says, before Jack leaves, “I know it’s been four years for your dad today… um, I’m thinking about Mr. Abbott today. He was a good man.” “Yeah, he sure was,” Jack agrees, “Thank you, Kevin. That’s a very nice thing for you to say…” And with that, he leaves Kevin’s new office.

Scene 15

Nick, Phyllis, Noah, Summer, and Faith are all sitting under a tree having a picnic by the lake. They’ve just finished eating lunch and Nick is feeding Faith. “This is such a great spot,” Phyllis states. “Yeah, Vick brings Reed here all the time when she has him,” Nick replies. “Can Auntie Victoria and Reed come with us next time?” Summer asks. “I’ll ask her,” Nick answers, “I’m sure she would love that.” “Yeah, that is a great idea!” Phyllis agrees, “Listen… Mommy and Daddy are gonna take a little walk for a few minutes, okay?” “But we’re just about to have tea,” Summer says. She’s setting up her miniature tea set on the picnic blanket.

“I can stay here with Summer and Faith, if you want,” Noah offers, “I’m never too old to have tea with my sister.” “Thanks. We’re just gonna go stretch our legs for a little bit,” Phyllis says. “Down that path over there,” Nick points. “We won’t be gone long,” Phyllis adds.

Scene 16

Daniel and Sharon are now out on the Athletic Club basketball court. “So you really want to do this?” Daniel double-checks. “Yes, I really wanna do this!” Sharon insists. “You do know how to play basketball, right?” Daniel asks jokingly. “Yes! I’ve watched Noah’s games for years,” Sharon replies. “When’s the last time you’ve played?” Daniel follows up. Sharon thinks for a moment. “I may be a little rusty, but I can handle myself,” she says. “Don’t think I’m gonna go easy on you, just because you’re a mom.” “I don’t want you to go easy on me, period,” Sharon replies confidently, “As a matter of fact, I don’t need you to go easy on me. I can do this… I’m gonna win.” Daniel smirks again. “In order to do that, you have to get the ball first,” he teases. He moves the ball around in his hands, and then holds it up over his head so that Sharon can’t reach it. She tries unsuccessfully to knock it out of his hand. “Come on,” Daniel encourages her, “It’s gonna take more than that to get this ball from me.” Sharon makes another attempt but is unsuccessful. Daniel runs up to the net, shoots the ball, and scores a basket. “I thought you said you were gonna make it hard for me,” he tells Sharon. “Oh, I am. I was just getting warmed up,” she replies.

Scene 17

After the Press Conference, Nikki visits Victor in his office at Newman Enterprises. “Um, I wanted to thank you for being there at the press conference today,” she tells Victor. “Well, you know, after what you said this morning, I decided to clear my calendar,” Victor explains. “Well, it meant a lot to me,” Nikki admits. “If it’s important to you, then it’s important to me,” Victor states, “In the past, I haven’t been supportive of you and your desires and pursuits of a career. You said it yourself, and I realize it all too well. I don’t want to push you away again by making the same mistakes.” Nikki embraces him. “No mistakes this time,” she says. Victor nods. “No mistakes this time,” he repeats. They kiss.

Scene 18

After the Chancellor Industries Press Conference, Jill and Neil continue to stare at Tucker from afar. “Are you jealous of him because of his relationship with Ashley [Abbott]?” Jill inquires. “What relationship with Ashley?” Neil replies, “They work together. He’s her boss. That’s their relationship.” Jill shakes her head. “Not according to my ‘sources’ at the Athletic Club,” she elaborates, “Apparently, Tucker and Ashley had a date yesterday.” Neil brushes off the suggestion. “Ashley doesn’t like or trust the man,” he tells Jill, “There must have been a misunderstanding.” “But if there wasn’t?” Jill presses. “If there wasn’t, Ashley and I have agreed to be just friends,” Neil admits, “She can see whoever she wants.” “Even if it’s Tucker McCall?” Jill asks, “Neil, don’t forget how I was burned by that man. Is that what you want to happen to Ashley?” “No offense, Jill, but Ashley’s a strong, capable woman,” Neil says, “I think she’s too smart to be taken in by Tucker McCall…”

Scene 19

Jack returns to the Abbott Manor and heads out to the pool to check on Kyle. Kyle and Ricky are swimming in the pool. “Hi Ricky,” Jack says politely. “Hey Mr. Abbott,” Ricky replies. Jack turns to Kyle. “I said to clean the pool, not use it,” he reminds his son. “I did clean it,” Kyle replies, “And what’s the point of cleaning it if you’re not gonna use it?”

“Um, Ricky, can you take off for a few minutes?” Jack requests. “Yeah, sure,” Ricky agrees. He gets out of the pool. “Why don’t you go dry off in the pool house?” Jack suggests, “There’s some extra towels in there.” Ricky nods. “Catch ya later, Amigo,” Kyle calls out as Ricky heads inside.

Jack turns to Kyle. “I arranged for you to work off the cost of the damages by taking on a few shifts at the Coffee House,” he arranges. “Not doin’ it,” Kyle refuses immediately. “Oh yes, you are,” Jack says authoritatively, “You’re lucky I didn’t go to Lauren and make you work at the Boutique too.”

Scene 20

Daniel and Sharon are now in the middle of a heated basketball game. Sharon looks down as she dribbles the ball and Daniel steals it from her. He tries to shoot a three-pointer, but it bounces off the rim, missing the net. “That was in! Come on!” Daniel shouts. Unlike Daniel, when it’s Sharon’s turn to shoot for the basket, she scores a point, much to his surprise. “Ha! Take that!” Sharon gloats. “Lucky shot!” Daniel replies, dismissing her point. “Just like my two other ones, right?” Sharon asks. “Okay, I admit, you had a slow start but you’ve been alright since then,” Daniel confesses. “Just alright?” Sharon says. “Yeah, ‘cause if you were good, you would have seen this comin’,” Daniel tells her as he suddenly and unexpectedly knocks the ball out of her hand. “No fair!” Sharon calls as she chases after him to block his shot at the net.

Sharon tries to steal the ball back away from Daniel. She loses her balance, and falls forward onto Daniel, who in turn falls back and hits the pavement, breaking her fall. “Oh my God, Daniel! I’m so sorry,” Sharon apologizes, “Are you okay?” He gets up slowly, shrugging it off. “Yeah, fine,” he answers, “Don’t worry about it.” It’s clear that he’s experiencing a bit of pain and discomfort, though. “Let me see,” Sharon offers, “just to make sure.” Sharon lifts up the back of his shirt and notices his lower back is a little red. She rubs it gently. “Is it sore?” she asks. “A little,” Daniel admits. Sharon continues to massage it. “How’s that feel?” Sharon inquires. “Good,” Daniel replies, “Actually, really good. Keep doing that.” Sharon finds herself moving her hands further up Daniel’s back. Daniel doesn’t mind. Suddenly, Sharon stops. “Um, let’s just call it a tie,” she suggests. “Afraid to lose by even more?” Daniel asks. “No, that way you wouldn’t have to be embarrassed when I caught up to your score and passed it,” Sharon replies. “Like that was ever gonna happen,” Daniel retorts. “It would’ve,” Sharon insists playfully. “No,” Daniel denies it again. “Yes,” Sharon repeats. They both smile and laugh, realizing that they’ve had a good time together…

Scene 21

Phyllis and Nick are walking along a beaten path in a wooded area by the lake. “So this is nice, just the two of us,” Phyllis states. “Yeah, it is,” Nick agrees. “No one trying to ruin our day; no Sharon,” Phyllis continues, “Just me and my handsome, hot husband. The way it should be.”

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a black sedan (built around the mid-1990s) comes tearing down the path, headed straight for Nick and Phyllis! They turn back and see the vehicle quickly approaching. “Look out!” Nick shouts as they start to run away. They’re surrounded by trees on both sides of the path, so they keep running straight. The vehicle remains in pursuit of them. Finally, they manage to jump off to the side into a group of bushes. The car can’t stop quickly enough and continues past them.

The vehicle, whose driver cannot be seen, manages to turn around and then speeds off back where it came from. Nick and Phyllis remain in the bushes for a few minutes, hiding, trying to catch their breath…
